"Sexually assaulting you is just my way of saying I really dig you."

"Reunions in Singapore"
Original airdate: 2/25/1983

Episode summary: Blake flies to Singapore and has an awkward reunion with facially reconstructed Steven. Adam lures Kirby to a motel - but is thwarted from assaulting her again when Jeff comes to the rescue. Alexis is miffed when she learns that Mark and Fallon have become friends.
Recap: Krystle is cuddling Danny in the nursery when Blake enters the room, smiles goofily at the two of them, and announces that he's flying to Singapore in the morning. Krystle says she'd like to go with him and bring Danny along, but Blake vetoes that and says it's too far of a trip for an infant - plus they don't know for sure that this "Ben Reynolds" is really Steven. Krystle says she knows in her heart that it's Steven and doesn't get why Blake can't believe in this awesome miracle. Blake explains that he doesn't want to risk opening himself up to the inevitable heartache he'll have to experience if the man turns out not to be Steven. He then urges Krystle to come to bed and coos in his gravelly voice, "I need you tonight. More than I've ever needed you before." Ewwwww.

At the Immaculate Heart Hospital in Singapore, Steven is outside, practicing his hand/eye coordination by playing catch with the nun nurse. She asks him why he's such a mopey drip all the time, so Steven explains that Dr. Chin bums him out 'cause he's constantly asking probing questions and implying that he's hiding something from his past...which, of course, he's totally doing - so, d'yuh. The nun nurse tells him that Dr. Chin cares for him beyond the surgical reconstruction he did to his face...and Steven loses interest in the conversation and glances around and happens to notice Dan Cassidy through a second floor window. Steven looks troubled by his presence in Singapore.

Fallon pleads with Blake to take her along to Singapore and points out that Steven may not want to return to Denver if it means sitting on a plane with his douchebag father and no buffers. Blake vetoes that, reiterates that the mystery man in Singapore may not even be Steven, then kisses everyone goodbye and heads off to the airport. Fallon tells Krystle she feels bad that Steven's homecoming will mean that she probably won't be able to adopt Danny after all, but Krystle says that Steven's miraculous return from the dead means a lot more than having a baby to care for, and the two hug. I guess they're still besties.

Blake arrives at a private airstrip and is told by the pilot that the plane will take off in fifteen minutes. Another car suddenly arrives, and when the passenger door opens, Alexis steps out wearing a luxuriously fluffy fur coat and a matching hat. She tells Blake she wants to accompany him to Singapore, but he's like, "No way in hell" and says it's taking every ounce of his self control to not wring her neck for what she's done to Jeff. She denies doing anything to Jeff, then says she's here to give him a warning...a strong warning: if Steven is alive, he's going to regret poisoning his mind against her. That sounds more like a general statement than a warning. She then tells him she has a list of the Denver-Carrington board members he conveniently made disappear, and vows to find them and successfully merge their two companies. (Maybe that was the warning.) Blake growls, "Don't count on a damn thing!" then greets Congressman Neil McVane, who has suddenly arrived at the airstrip for a quick one-on-one with Blake. Blake tells McVane about his delaying tactic by having Andrew urge the board members to get out of town, then orders him to contact "the right people in Washington" to convince the SEC to hold off on a merger between Denver-Carrington and ColbyCo. He also says he wants to mount a "court trial" against Alexis, and I'm not exactly sure what that's supposed to mean. McVane says it'll be difficult, but Blake barks, "Get it done!" and the chastened congressman nods and obediently says, "I understand." As the two shake hands, Blake stares smugly over at Alexis, then boards the plane. McVane ambles over to Alexis, who sneeringly says it's obvious that Blake has just asked for his help with something, then advises him not to do anything for that "lame horse". McVane says he has no desire to get caught between her and Blake, and Alexis just chuckles and tells him he should want to be on the winning side. McVane declines to do her bidding, whatever it may be, and she gets irked and calls him "a fool and a fraud" and that "it's enough!" that he's let her down twice now. She flounces back to her car and orders the driver to take her to ColbyCo.
Alexis storms into her office at ColbyCo, snatches the phone receiver and calls Morgan Hess, her private investigator. She tells him she has a new job for him: dig up as much dirt on Neil McVane as he possibly can. She adds that he's running for reelection, and she wants to do everything possible to cause him to lose his congressional seat.

Jeff is in the dining room of Carrington manor, eating breakfast and reading the paper. Fallon enters the room and asks him how he's feeling, then says he's probably itching to know what in the hell poisoned him and turned him into a raving lunatic. Jeff just kind of shrugs and says it's over, and that he doesn't think anyone will ever be able to figure it out. It's funny that he's not even slightly curious about what could have distorted his personality so drastically for all those weeks. Fallon says she'd like to make nice and be friends again, and assures him she likes having him at Carrington manor, close to their son. Jeff thanks her and apologizes for almost strangling her at the La Mirage, but she's just like, "Meh. You were really sick then - but it's all in the past now."

Over at ColbyCo, Alexis bitches at Adam for failing to locate the missing Denver-Carrington board members. She snaps, "Where's Sam Dexter?!" and Adam says he's somewhere in the Bahamas, and he's got people trying to determine the exact location of his yacht. He promises to locate the rest of the board members soon, and Alexis grins and says it'll be a great homecoming gift for Blake when he returns with her son. Adam gives her a forlorn what about me? look so she hastily says, "My other son." Adam remarks that she seems certain the mystery man in Singapore is Steven, and she says that something in her heart tells her it is - the same way she knew that he (Adam) was her long-lost son in The Siblings episode. She gushes about how thrilled she is that both of her sons will soon be back in her life, and that they'll have a powerful new empire to share. Adam looks less than thrilled at the idea of sharing anything and says, "From what I understand, Steven has no interest in the executive side of business." Alexis explains that Steven just didn't want to work with Blake, then says he's sensitive and decent and has a great capacity for love and people, which Adam snidely interprets as code for homosexual. Suddenly, Jeff barges into the office, glances around, and remarks that it's been redecorated and that he hates the color...which is crazy talk 'cause it's a much more calming neutral than the ghastly toxic-blue that Adam selected for him. Alexis asks him whassup with him being out and about so soon after getting released from the hospital, and Jeff says he wants to fix the mistake he made when he signed over all those shares of Denver-Carrington and ColbyCo to her. He demands them back, but Alexis tells him that it was all part of a lofty plan to merge the two companies, and it's already in the works. She says the result will be one big formidable company and cockily adds, "We're going to rule the roost. Be kings of the heap." When Jeff wryly asks, "And dethrone Blake?" Alexis admits that, yeah, that's what she wants most of all. She then tells Jeff that Adam is working on a deal to bring in millions from a Middle East oil deal, and Adam concurs and says he's been working on it for weeks, and that he and Kirby are attending a conference in Colorado Springs to flesh out the details. Jeff scrunches his face concernedly and asks him what Kirby has to do with any of this, so Adam explains that the people they're dealing with only speak French (which is odd considering it's a Middle East deal), and he needs her to translate.

Jeff tries to talk Kirby out of going to Colorado Springs with Adam, who he calls "a shark, a killer". She says she appreciates his concern, but that she promised to translate for ColbyCo just this one time. She tells him that Adam is picking her up shortly, and that she'll be home sometime tonight. She then thanks him for caring, and he says, "I do. A lot" and the two smooch.

Krystle is feeding Danny in the mansion's solarium when Mark arrives to drop off their divorce papers. He says he's happy for her that she finally has a baby, but Krystle says he may not be hers for much longer, then quickly changes the subject and tells him she witnessed him and Fallon smooching in the vestibule of the mansion when they returned from Haiti. She warns him not to do anything to hurt Fallon, who's unaware of how big a douchebag he can be. Haha!

Steven packs up his stuff amid the protests of the nun nurse. He insists on leaving the hospital, and is about to exit the room when Dr. Chin appears and goes, "What's the rush?" Steven says he owes the hospital a lot of money, and wants to find work at an oil company, like pronto, so he can begin to repay that debt. Dr. Chin urges him to stay, then explains that if he leaves he'd be jeopardizing his position at the hospital 'cause his superior in Hong Kong, Dr. Lu, has yet to review the facial reconstruction he performed on him. (I'm no medical expert, but it looks like he did a fantastic job!) He urges Steven to stay until morning, and Steven mopishly mulls that over.

While Blake is en route to Singapore, he has a flashback of when Steven yelled at the family, confessed that he was homosexual, and threatened to break an expensive vase. For some bizarre reason, the scene was re-shot with Jack Coleman (even though all we see is the back of his head) - which is so totally nonsensical, since the whole point of the facial reconstruction storyline is to explain why "Season 3 Steven" looks like a totally different person than "Seasons 1-2 Steven".

Alexis is visiting with Fallon in her office at the La Mirage, and they're enjoying snacks and martinis and discussing Steven's imminent return. Mark suddenly enters the office and looks startled to see Alexis sitting there. He politely says, "Well hello, Mrs. Colby" and she chuckles at his formality and tells him to call her Alexis. Mark tells Fallon, who's grinning at him all smittenly, that he'll talk to her later, then beats a hasty retreat. Alexis asks Fallon if Mark's interruptions always make her smile like that, and Fallon tells her how grateful she is to her for getting Mark to come to Denver - even though her motive at the time was purely to hurt Krystle. Nevertheless, what she unwittingly  did was bring a friend into her life. A peeved Alexis asks her to elaborate on this friendship, so Fallon tells her that Mark followed her to Haiti and was a real pal when she needed one. Alexis looks irked and grunts, "Sweet" then says she doesn't think it would be wise for her to have a thing with a tennis pro. Fallon denies having a thing, and says that Mark is just a nice guy with whom she's been having nice talks. She then heads out to check on a room that's just been renovated, and Alexis picks up the phone and tries to track down Mark...and looks miffed when she learns he already left the hotel. No doubt he fled as fast as he could.

"Didn't I tell you? Mark is my new bestie!"

"How sweet."

Jeff is in the nursery, hanging out with Baby Blake and telling him how much he misses Kirby. Krystle enters the room to check up on Danny, and the two gabble about first love, recovery, and loving more than one person in a lifetime. Krystle asks him if he's found a new love, but Jeff remains mum, calls her very wise, and gives her a cheek kiss.

Adam is driving himself and a snoozing Kirby back to Denver after the Colorado Springs meeting. He notices the sign for the Deseret Motel, gets an awful idea in his head, and abruptly pulls into the motel's parking lot. While he heads over to the office to book a couple of rooms, Kirby wakes up and glances around in confusion. Adam returns and tells her the car suddenly broke down - but luckily he was able to coast it into this motel parking lot. He then tells her that all the garages are closed, and there's no car rental place anywhere nearby. Kirby says she should call the mansion, but Steven quickly says he already did. He then tells her he booked two rooms and dangles the keys in front of her.

Kirby covertly calls Carrington manor, tells Jeff which motel she's at, then pleads, "I need you, I really need you!" and instead of immediately jumping into action, Jeff stares concernedly into space.

Steven is glumly laying in his hospital bed, then abruptly gets up and makes a phone call. He quickly learns that Dr. Lu is not due to visit the Immaculate Heart Hospital until next week, then suspiciously stares into space.

Jeff is in his car, on his way to the Deseret Motel. He presses his foot on the gas pedal to make it clear to viewers that he's increasing his speed...and then the camera pans over to the speedometer, in case anyone missed the news flash that he's driving very fast.

Adam and Kirby are in Kirby's motel room, sharing a pizza and drinking red wine. Adam, who's guzzling the wine and looking tipsy, is babbling about how he and Kirby are downstairs people trying to live among the upstairs people. He pins her against the chair she's sitting on, leers at her, and caresses her face...while she looks icked out by his aggressive drunkenness and tells him she's tired and wants to go to bed. Adam shakes his head and refuses to leave.

"Psychopath people like you need to get professional help."

Jeff is still on his way to the motel, his foot firmly on the gas pedal. Thanks for that progress report, writers.

Steven finishes off the wine and aggressively hugs Kirby from behind. She yells at him to stop manhandling her, so he snarls, "I'm wearying of your attitude! Sick of it, in fact. Angered by it" so she's like, "What the hell is the matter with you?" and he barks, "Should I retire for the night?" then answers his own question by snapping, "No! I'm not going anywhere after pouring my heart out to you!" He babbles about how alike they are and belong together, then delivers this vitriolic gem: "But instead of trying to understand me, you're playing some sort of stupid game. The hard to get special. This doesn't exactly suit the girl I once knew very well - the night she wasn't all that hard to get!" He forcibly kisses her as she yells, "Stop it!" Adam is definitely one fucked up individual.

Jeff arrives at the motel and hears Kirby yelling, "Adam! Stop it! Get your hands off of me!" so he rushes over to the room and pounds on the door. Adam answers the door and sneers with brazen disgust as he says, "The ice man cometh. To rescue his shivering ice queen." He snarls at Kirby for calling the mansion and telling Jeff to come save her, bitchily snaps, "Someone has to look after the dirty diapers!" then storms out. Fuck he's weird. Jeff comforts Kirby, who tearfully admits she shouldn't have gone with Adam, then wonders aloud why men always assume she's an easy lay. Jeff says he doesn't think that and calls her "beautiful, loving, and giving". He then tells her to stop crying 'cause he's about to propose! And what better time is there to propose marriage than seconds after a woman has just endured an attempted sexual assault by a serial rapist. Kirby stares at Jeff in shock, and the two start smooching.

When Blake arrives at the Immaculate Heart Hospital, Dr. Chin quickly ushers him to where Dan Cassidy has been waiting. As the three head over to Steven's room, Cassidy tells Blake he's not entirely sure if mystery man is his son, since his face has been altered by surgery...however, he does know that Ben Reynolds was a brunette, which is weird 'cause the mystery man is a blonde. Blake exclaims, "My son is blonde!" (Yep - that's kind of why he brought it up, Blake.) When they enter the room they find it empty, and Dr. Chin notices that all of Steven's/Ben's belongings are gone. He immediately gets on the horn with security and orders the guards to prevent any blonde men carrying suitcases from leaving the hospital grounds. LOL.

Steven is stopped at the gate, then hobbles over to where Cassidy is standing. He's startled to see that the man he's talking to is Blake, who was momentarily hidden behind a wall. As the two face each other, Blake peers into his eyes to determine if this stranger really his long lost son - and so we get really close close-ups of Steven's face, which get progressively closer.

"Damn. You found me."

"Is that really you, son? Let me get a closer look at you.."

Picture

"Closer.."

Picture

"Closer.."

After much close scrutinizing, Blake gasps and says, "Steven? My God! It is you!" and envelopes him an awkward hug. He says he never believed in miracles - but that this definitely qualifies as a miracle. Steven looks icked out by being in his father's presence and glumly asks him why he didn't just accept him as dead. Blake's all, "Wuh? I couldn't" then says he wants him to come home, as does the rest of the family. Steven reminds him that he broke with the Carringtons because he didn't want to be part of that shitty family anymore, then starts to hobble off with his cane. Blake bellows, "Can you walk out on your own child?!" and Steven stops and is all, "Wha-a?!" Blake nods and informs him that he has an infant son, and Steven stares contemplatively into space.

"I feel like a brand new man!"

"The Mirror"
Original airdate: 2/4/1983

Episode summary: Jeff remains in the hospital and begins to recuperate from being poisoned. Fallon and Mark hang out together in Haiti, but keep things platonic. Steven's new face is revealed.
Recap: Krystle asks Joseph to tell the chauffeur to bring the car around so she can head over to the hospital and pick up Blake, who's been at Jeff's bedside all night. She remarks to Joseph how pensively worried she is about the old goat not getting any sleep.

Over in Penthouse Luxurious, Alexis calls her chauffeur to tell him to get the car ready so that she can head over to the hospital...but Adam overhears her and suggests she spend her time preparing for the handing Blake his ass meeting at Denver-Carrington, now that she officially has controlling interest in his company. Alexis says she doesn't want to do that today 'cause she's too stressed out about The Jeff Situation. She's worried that the doctors will discover he was poisoned and call the police, and that they'll figure out it was the blue paint that was poisoning him. Adam says he's going to arrange for Jeff's office to be swiftly remodeled, then urges Alexis to stay far away from the hospital. He's worried that in her current freaked out state, she may tip someone off into thinking she has information about Jeff's illness. He offers to go to the hospital in her place and see if anyone's been able to learn what's ailing Jeff, and Alexis seems fine with that.

Jeff's eyes flutter open and he sees Blake sitting by his bedside. He glances around, looking confused and sweaty, and is all, "Wuz happening?" Blake tells him he collapsed on the tennis court...and Jeff says he remembers falling, then angrily asks Blake why he didn't just take him home. Blake says it's clear that there's something really wrong with him, then explains that the doctors are in the process of figuring out why he's been behaving so squirrelly lately, and proudly says he ordered the doctors to keep the lab open all night so that the technicians could work around the clock and determine the root cause of his illness. Jeff mutters that he's confused by what he's been dreaming and what's actually reality, then asks Blake if he recently signed some kind of document. Blake confirms that he did sign a 'consent to divorce' form for Fallon, since she no longer wants to be legally wed to someone who tried to choke the life out of her. He adds, "I'm very sad about that", but Jeff doesn't buy his sympathy and growls, "Soon we'll be rid of each other - and the rest of you damn Carringtons!" just as Krystle enters the room. A dismayed Blake shakes his head sadly at Jeff, then looks over at Krystle and shakes his head sadly at her.

"You should have taken me home! Damn you, Blake, and the rest of you damn Carringtons!"

As soon as Blake and Krystle return to Carrington manor, Joseph informs Blake that Fallon is on the phone from Haiti. Blake hurries over to the study to take the call and sadly reports to his daughter, "There's no reaching Jeff" and explains that the doctors still have no idea what's been making him act so weird.

Adam is in Jeff's office, directing a contractor to remove the wall panels, then replaster and repaint the walls. Preferably something other than grisly blue. The contractor asks him if he wants to salvage the panels since they're so expensive, but Adam brusquely orders him to cut them up and burn them...'cause that's not odd or suspicious at all. Gerald (the lawyer Adam tried to fire) is standing in the doorway and scrunching his face with puzzlement as he eavesdrops on the conversation. Adam explains to Gerald that Alexis is taking over Jeff's office and wants the room redecorated. Gerald says it's pretty excessive to redecorate an office three times in a period of six months, and Adam snaps back that he shouldn't "make a case" against something his employer wants done. He bitchily stalks off, and Gerald worriedly stares after him.

Blake is in the nursery, cuddling Danny, when Joseph enters and points out that there are now two infants under the Carrington roof - yet only one nursemaid is employed! Egads! He asks Blake if he can start interviewing nannies, mostly 'cause he wants to free up Kirby so that she can work on having a meaningful career. He reminds Blake that he paid good money for her to attend the Sorbonne...and would like her to do something more challenging than change Baby Blake's diapers.

Krystle shows Blake a letter she just received from Sammy Jo, and notes that they now have her address in New York...and Blake nods approvingly and says they'll need that for the adoption papers. Krystle scans the letter and gives Blake an overview: Sammy Jo is having fun becoming a model, and knows that she'd be the world's shittiest mother, which is why she's happily signing Danny over to the two of them. Blake assures Krystle that nothing will go wrong with the adoption, barring some unforeseen incident...like the child's father unexpectedly returning from the dead/Singapore.

And speaking of Singapore..

A facially mummified Steven (who's still calling himself Ben Reynolds) is staring at himself in the mirror when the doctor enters his room. Steven complains about all the waiting he's had to do before he can see his new face, so the doctor peeks inside the eye holes of his bandage and says it looks like the swelling has gone down. He announces that he'll de-mummify him first thing tomorrow morning. He changes the topic and tells Steven he's puzzled why his belt buckle had a big C on it - when his last name is supposedly Reynolds, and Steven cagily says he borrowed the belt from a friend - Charlie Cunningham - the day before the explosion. He then gets back into bed and bitchily asks if that explanation is good enough for him, and the doctor must decide he really doesn't give a crap about this after all, 'cause he just kind of shrugs and says, "I'll see you tomorrow." Steven stares after him through his eye holes, looking worriedly contemplative.
Picture

"If your name is Reynolds, why does your belt buckle have a big C on it?"

Picture

"I, uh, borrowed it from my good friend: Charlie Cunningham. We called him C for short."

Picture

"Now go away, and stop asking such probing questions."

Picture

"Sounds totally believable. Belt buckle mystery solved."

The next morning, Fallon runs into Mark at the hotel restaurant. He tells her he managed to get the room next to hers, then gabbles about how he got so lonely last night that he went down to the bar and threw back a few drinks with a strange woman. He then babbles about how people are always judging him by his looks, blah blah...and when he notices the spaced out expression on Fallon's face [which, incidentally, was the same one I had on my face while watching this scene], he goes, "Boy. I must really have bored you just now." LOL. He invites her to go sightseeing with him, but she says she has an appointment with her lawyer and doesn't know how long it will take. She adds that she's in Haiti to get a quickie divorce, not sightsee, and wants to wrap up her business and get home to her son asap.

Adam stops by the hospital visit Jeff. He asks him how it's going, and Jeff grumbles about how the nurses keep taking blood samples. He scrunches his face in confusion and asks Adam if he recently signed any papers in his office, and Adam stares back at him and goes, "Papers..?" so Jeff mumbles that he's all mixed up and is probably just remembering signing Fallon's divorce papers. He tells Adam that Blake ordered that the lab be kept open all night, and Adam looks alarmed.

Adam rushes over to the lab to speak with the head technician, who tells him they haven't been able to pinpoint the source of Jeff's squirrelliness. She adds that they aren't always able to come up with diagnoses in cases like these, and Adam looks very pleased to hear that.

The doctor friend of Kate Torrence (Adam's faux grandmother) drops by Adam's office for an unexpected visit...and Adam is not pleased to see him. The doctor explains that he's on a brief layover while en route to St. Louis and just wanted to drop by and say hey. Adam snarks that he's doing fine, but the doctor studies him and says, "You're not well, boy...are you?" and adds, "Your eyes are looking too bright again." Bwahaha! He asks Adam if his bio mom and dad know about the nervous breakdown he suffered and/or the drugs he was given, but Adam clams up, says he doesn't want to talk about it, and throws the doctor out of his office. Hmm...interesting.

Adam assures Alexis that The Jeff Situation is under control - and that Jeff, the doctors, and lab technicians suspect nothing nefarious. Alexis poutishly tells him that Jeff is a fine human being, not a pawn, then poutishly laments the pain he must be in right now. Adam rolls his eyes and snaps, "If he's in pain, they'll give him a pill." Alexis switches gears and starts railing about how Fallon has turned against her (hasn't she pretty much always been against her?) and that she's just like Blake. She changes the subject back to Jeff and announces that she's going to pay him a visit, and assures Adam she won't crack under pressure and reveal anything that could implicate either of them.

Jeff is still looking sick and sweaty when Kirby drops by the hospital. She starts babbling about his relationship with Fallon, and how his obsession with her was so intense that it drove him to nearly choke her to death. LOL - I don't disagree, though I think Season 1-2 Fallon was far more deserving of strangulation than this nicer, chilled out version. Kirby walks over to the window and stares outside wistfully as she trash-talks Fallon, saying that she was never the kind of woman who believed in him. Unlike herself. She then starts nattering about how intimately she knows the pain of loving someone so much it hurts, then declares that she wants to be with him. She has a brief fantasy of her and Jeff in bed together, then turns around with an expectantly flushed expression on her face...but it instantly falls when she realizes that Jeff's been asleep for the last several minutes and hasn't heard a word she's said. Haha! She looks embarrassed and annoyed that she just poured her heart out to a sleeping man.
Picture

"Whaddya say, Jeff? Do you love me as much as I love you?"

Picture

"Zzzzzzzz..."

Later, Adam runs into Kirby at Carrington manor and reminds her about his offer to hire her as ColbyCo's official French/English translator, then says she can't possibly be fulfilled working as a babysitter. Kirby brusquely accepts the job, and says she'll tell Fallon as soon as she returns from Haiti. She snarkishly adds, "I won't cater to her selfish Carrington tune anymore!" So there.

Alexis arrives at the hospital to see Jeff, decked out in a fantastic red tailored suit and fur wrap, and two deliverymen follow her into the room and place two gigantic bouquets of flowers on a nearby table. Alexis tells a zonked looking Jeff that she still thinks of him as family, despite his divorce from Fallon, and that the differences he has with Adam will be behind them (she might want to also give Adam that memo). She wants him to be with her at the helm of ColbyCo - but first he needs to completely recover from being slowly poisoned. And to that end, she's sending him to a wonderful spa in Switzerland. Jeff smiles happily and murmurs, "Hmm...spa...Switzerland..." Alexis contorts her lips poutishly and soothingly says, "You're so weak. Now get some rest. Think of a wonderful place far, far away."

Back in Singapore, the doctor and nun nurse are finally ready to de-mummify Steven's face. With the back of his head facing viewers, the doctor slowly cuts off the bandage, and then the nun nurse spends several minutes applying ointment to his newly reconstructed face. The doctor asks him if he's ready to see himself, then hands him a mirror...and Steven takes a quick look and remarks that his eyes are the same color. Well, d'yuh. He didn't get eye replacements. Though he probably would have if his eyes weren't blue like Al Corley's. He seems happy with his new mug and tells the doctor he can live with it...and the doctor and nun nurse leave the room. Steven wanders over to the bed...then slowly turns around and anticlimactically reveals his unblemished face to viewers.
Picture

"We can't keep jerking around viewers by continuing to keep your face hidden."

Picture

"Just kidding. We're going to keep milking this reveal for as long as we possibly can."

Alexis flounces into the kitchen in Carrington manor and orders Hilda to fetch her some cold champagne. Krystle enters the room and asks whassup, and Alexis tells her she dropped by to see the babies and is now chillin' with Hilda and drinking champagne. Krystle says she was at the hospital earlier to see Jeff, and Alexis breezily says he'll be himself again very soon. Krystle gives her a funny look and says, "You're a contrast of moods" and reminds her that last night she was practically in a state of hysteria about Jeff being hospitalized...yet now she's throwing back champagne and declaring he's going to be fine. Alexis denies being hysterical and insists she was merely concerned, but Krystle doesn't buy that and says it's clear she touched a nerve. She smugly sashays out of the kitchen as a worried Alexis stares after her.

Blake has invited Gerald to his office to chat about Alexis and her deviousness. Blake tells him he's sure that Alexis was involved with Cecil's 'Logan Rhinewood' scheme, and also suspects her of somehow using Jeff's illness for her own advantage. Blake asks Gerald to spy...er, keep an eye on Alexis. He growls, "It will be all out war if she does anything to hurt Jeff" and vows if that happens, "ColbyCo will go down the drain".

Fallon and Mark are on the balcony of her Haiti hotel room, staring up at the stars. She remarks that her mother was the one who inadvertently brought them together, and they banter back and forth, blah blah.. Damn, these two are boring. He asks if he can kiss her, but she says, "Don't spoil it" and suggests they go for a walk on the beach instead.

Alexis is in Blake's office, smoking, when he enters. He does not look pleased to see her and snarks that he's just come from a tough meeting and isn't in the mood for her nonsense. She tells him she's here on business, then hands him a letter and announces that Jeff has turned over voting control of his/his son's Denver-Carrington shares to her. Blake quickly reads the letter and notices that it was signed yesterday when Jeff "wasn't in his right mind". He says he won't stand for this sort of shenanigan, but Alexis informs him that the Denver-Carrington shares Cecil had acquired (and bequeathed to her), along with her grandson's shares are worth more than 50% of his company. She smugly says, "This means you are now working for me." Blake looks unconcerned and angrily retorts, "I'll see you in hell before that happens!" Alexis tells him she'll be contacting the SEC to notify them of the merger between Denver-Carrington and ColbyCo - with her (and Jeff, I guess) at the helm! Her smugness, however, is short lived when Blake gets a call from Jeff's doctor to inform him that the lab technician found evidence of a neuro-toxin in Jeff's bloodstream. Alexis overhears the troubling discovery and is all, "OMG!" while Blake furrows his brows and wonders aloud how Jeff could possibly have come in contact with a poisonous chemical. And where? Alexis dramatically lifts her face and shuts her eyes...and looks dangerously close to wigging out.

"I dunno if it's Steven or not - but regardless, you did a damn fantastic job on his face."

"Battle Lines"
Original airdate: 2/16/1983

Episode summary: Blake enlists Andrew Laird to help him prevent a merger of Denver-Carrington and ColbyCo. Kirby professes her love to Jeff, and this time he's awake and reciprocates. Dan Cassidy phones Blake from Singapore to inform him that Steven may be alive.
Recap: Blake is on the phone with Andrew Laird after summoning him from New York to help him deal with Alexis' plan to take control of Denver-Carrington. Blake orders him to meet him at his office, then ends the call just as Krystle enters the room cradling Danny. Blake kisses both of them good morning and grimly says he's off "to do battle with Alexis". Krystle shakes her head in pensive disgust and says she has a feeling that Alexis is hiding something regarding Jeff's poisoning. At the very least, she believes that Alexis took advantage of Jeff's illness in order to get him to sign over Baby Blake's Denver-Carrington shares to her. Blake assures her he'll handle the matter and heads off to work.

Blake grumbles to Andrew about how Alexis wants his head "on a silver tray" and Andrew says he's surprised that Alexis wants to be the CEO of a merged oil company 'cause it sounds "too much like work". Hee, that's exactly what I was thinking too. Blake tells him that this is "a new Alexis" and that she's called a meeting to lay out a plan for a merger of Denver-Carrington and ColbyCo, during which she'll declare herself CEO of the oil conglomerate...as though she's in any way qualified to take on that kind of a role. Blake suggests getting a judge to issue an injunction to prevent a takeover on the grounds that Jeff was acting very squirrelly at the time he signed over his son's shares to Alexis - but Andrew grimly shakes his head, says it's not feasible or provable and that he doubts any judge will buy that. Blake snappishly retorts, "Damn it! I don't want to hear that!" and bitchily adds that he doesn't pay him to argue and he wants action. He barks, "And I want it fast!" I'll bet Andrew is wishing he stayed in New York.

Alexis is preparing to travel to Switzerland to accompany Jeff to the spa...and by preparing to travel to Switzerland, I mean she's decked out in a fantastic white turtleneck, matching pants, and a furry white hat - as though she's about to hit the slopes of St. Moritz. Adam arrives at the penthouse and is all, "Wha-a?" and says he thought she was simply going to ship Jeff off to an out-of-country spa so they wouldn't have to worry about him spilling the beans about poisoned paint to investigators. Alexis explains that she doesn't want Jeff to travel alone, particularly after what he (Adam) did to him, and Adam snaps, "Why not?!" and reminds her that she has more pressing business in Denver: the takeover of Denver-Carrington. Alexis shoots him a wary stink-eye and says, "I really don't care to be criticized by you" and tells him they'll just schedule the merger meeting for sometime next week. Adam barks, "You're giving Blake a week's reprieve! Time to regroup and counter-attack!" but Alexis shrugs indifferently and says that flying to Switzerland with Jeff is the least she can do for a man he so callously poisoned. Adam accuses her of harboring a "yen" for Jeff, and Alexis shakes her head dramatically, is all, "Wha-a?!" and demands an immediate apology for that filthy remark. Adam suddenly remembers which side of his bread is buttered and hastily apologizes, agreeing that it was unforgivable [though totally within the realm of possibility, considering Alexis' penchant for young-ish boy toys].

"I forbid you to fly to Switzerland with Jeff. You've got important work to do here in Denver."

"It sounded like you just gave me an order."

"How adorable."

Alexis arrives at the hospital wearing a furry white coat that perfectly matches her furry white hat. She orders a nurse to get Jeff ready for travel, and the confused nurse informs her that she has no orders to release him. Alexis snarks, "You have now" and the nurse makes a beeline over to the nearest phone and calls Dr. Robinson.

Alexis is in Jeff's hospital room, packing up his things and waxing on about how wonderful the Swiss spa is - while Jeff sits on the edge of the bed, looking groggy. Alexis tells him it's A-OK if he wants to travel in his robe and slippers, and she helps him off the bed and is steering him toward the door when Blake and Dr. Robinson suddenly burst in. Blake demands to know what the hell she's doing, then yanks her over to the side of the room and reminds her that Jeff still has a toxic chemical in his system. Alexis insists that he'll get better in the Swiss spa a lot faster than in this "dreary hole", so Dr. Robinson sternly reminds her that Jeff is his patient and he will not release him in his current state. Alexis poutishly argues, "But I've already chartered a private plane!" - LOL - but the doctor stands firm. As Alexis continues to protest, Blake drags her toward the door and throws her out of the room. Out in the hall, she snarls, "The glorious day is finally coming when I'm going to bring you down!" and Blake's just like, "Whatever" and informs her that he's posting a guard at Jeff's door to prevent anyone from unlawfully removing him from the hospital. Alexis lets out an exasperated sigh and flounces toward the exit.

Back at Carrington manor, Krystle and a glum looking Blake are sharing a meal. She asks him whaddup with his bad mood, and he says it's 'cause they still don't know how Jeff was poisoned and is worried it could happen again. Andrew arrives at the mansion and joins them in the dining room to provide an update on Operation Stop Alexis From Merging Their Two Companies. He says that trying to get an injunction from a judge could take a year...and that he's called every judge he knows, but none of them would even listen to him 'cause they didn't believe he has any real proof that Jeff was too squirrelly to know what he was doing when he signed over his son's shares of Denver-Carrington to Alexis. Andrew suggests that Jeff formally revoke what he signed, but Blake doesn't want to put him through that and says they'll have to find another way. Well that's just dumb. Blake's brilliant idea is to order Andrew to contact their board members and convince at least six of them to get out town and remain incommunicado so that Alexis won't be able to get a quorum when she tries to convene a board meeting. Andrew nods obediently, and Blake says, "All right, my friend. You've got your work cut out for you!" and the camera pans around the table while Blake, Krystle, and Andrew mutely stare at each other for what seems like a really loooong time.

Jeff has been released from the hospital and arrives at Carrington manor, still dressed in his robe and slippers. If he's too weak to put clothes on, maybe he still needs to be hospitalized. Krystle and Blake warmly welcome him, and Dr. Robinson orders him to get some rest, like pronto. As Krystle helps Jeff up the stairs, Blake and Dr. Robinson head over to the study. Blake says he's miffed that the lab technicians at the hospital aren't devoting every waking hour to identify the chemical that poisoned Jeff. The doctor says the important thing is that Jeff is recovering, even if they can't identify the chemical in his system - but Blake doesn't accept that and says he's going to hire a private lab to get the job done.

Krystle brings Jeff some flowers to brighten up his room, then apologizes for not getting him to a doctor before he collapsed in Blake's arms. Jeff says he barely remembers that, and is bothered by all the terrible things he did to so many people. He asks about Fallon, and Krystle tells him she's returning from Haiti tomorrow. He sheepishly says he should probably look for another place to live, considering he recently tried to kill her - plus he's not really part of the family anymore. Blake suddenly appears in the doorway and barks, "The hell you're not" and assures Jeff that he'll always be part of the Carrington brood. Blake asks him if Alexis pressured him to sign any legal documents, and he furrows his furry caterpillar eyebrows and says, "I don't think so." He does, however, recall that Adam was in his office, and that he asked him to sign a document...and shortly after that Alexis flounced in, and then she and Adam left together. Jeff remembers that the document he signed had something to do with Baby Blake's shares of Denver-Carrington, which prompts him to wail, "What did I doooo?!"

Jeff ambles over to the nursery, where he finds Kirby playing with Baby Blake. Jeff cuddles his son and tells Kirby she'll make someone a wonderful wife one day. Kirby, who clearly wants to be his wonderful wife, grimaces and stares unhappily into space.

Andrew reports back to Blake and tells him it's been a rough but productive day. He managed to convince five board members to abruptly leave town - but needed one more, so he went to Sam Dexter and strong-armed him by reminding him that he owed Blake a favor. Dexter gave him a lot of flak, blah blah...but in the end agreed to leave down. Blake is thrilled that his dumb plan worked, and pours him and Andrew drinks while smugly saying, "Alexis is going to find out what it's like in the big leagues." LOL. Not from this she's not.

It's the middle of the night and Kirby peeks outside her bedroom door and notices an armed guard patrolling the hallway. When he's out of sight, she tip-toes down the hall to Jeff's room. She hovers over him as he sleeps and asks him why why?! he had to be unconscious that day in the hospital when she finally had the courage to profess her love for him. She sits on the edge of the bed and continues nattering about her feelings...and a few seconds later, Jeff wakes up and silently listens to her. She says she "almost died" when he told her she'd be a wonderful wife for someone, then confesses that she's always wanted and loved him. Jeff suddenly rolls over, which startles Kirby, and she gets up and starts to scurry toward the door...but he asks her to stay, and she strips off her robe, leans over him and gives him a big smooch.
Picture

"I love you, Jeff."

"But I find it troubling that you're asleep every time I bare my soul to you."

Picture

"If I just lay here quietly, maybe she'll leave."

Kirby wakes up at 5am and is being spooned by a sleeping Jeff. She quietly slips out of his bed, then tip-toes back to her room without getting caught by the armed guard.

Later that morning, Mark and Fallon return from Haiti. As they stand facing each other in the vestibule of the mansion, Fallon thanks him for seeing her through a bad time and for being a real friend. Mark tells her that their platonic-ness is only temporary, then says, "I have designs on your beautiful soul" - LOL - and Fallon grins and says she's not exactly turned off by him either. The two start smooching in earnest - and at that moment, Krystle happens to walk onto the landing at the top of the staircase and sees them kissing. She stares at them in shock for several seconds before quietly scurrying off.

Fallon heads over to the nursery to spend time with her baby, so Kirby says she'll leave them alone for some quality time and heads downstairs. She runs into her Papá, who remarks that she looks tired, then tells her that Adam is waiting for her in the solarium. She immediately heads over there, and Adam hands her a French/English dictionary that includes commonly used words/phrases used in the oil business. Kirby says she won't be needing that and informs him that she's changed her mind about taking the job. Adam looks peeved and says he desperately needs her translation services for an important meeting in Colorado Springs this week. He begs her to pleeeeease not back now now...so she gives in and promises to help him out. When she turns around to exit the room, Adam smirks to himself, which can only mean he's up to no good.

Krystle asks Blake how Fallon reacted to her son's shares being signed over to Alexis, and Blake says there's not a whole heckuva lot she can do about it, since Jeff was the trustee of those shares. He assures Krystle that he'll take care of the matter and actually says the words, "Don't worry your pretty head about it" (!) and Krystle responds by smiling serenely and telling him he doesn't have exclusive worrying rights in this family. After Blake leaves for the office, Krystle heads down to the dining room, where Fallon is eating breakfast. Krystle brings up her breakup with Mark and says that when they split, she shied away from any romantic involvements for a long time. Subtle, Krystle. Fallon asks her if she's passive-aggressively trying to tell her something, but Krystle just advises her to not rush into any new relationships. Especially with her '70s porn star ex-husband.

Alexis sweeps into the La Mirage, decked out in a fabulous fuchsia suit accessorized with a black fur hat and matching scarf. She runs into Mark and asks her boy toy to forgive her for not being in touch lately, and he says it's not necessary and that he understands she has more important things on her schedule. She insists that he's an important thing on her schedule, then saucily asks him if he's free for dinner (aka a romp) later. Before he can think up an excuse to decline boning the old gal, a hotel employee interrupts their conversation to tell Mark that he has a bunch of messages from people about getting some tennis lessons, now that he's back. Alexis stares at him in puzzlement and asks, "Back from where?" and remarks that he's all tanned. Mark gives her a vague retort that doesn't actually answer her question, then breezily says, "See ya later!" and Alexis stares after him, looking miffed. She snarks to herself, "Well...aren't we suddenly circumspect?"
Picture

"Would you like to do yourself the honor of having dinner and a romp with me later?"

Picture

"Nah. I'm about to start tapping something just as rich, but younger."

Over at ColbyCo, Adam hands Alexis a stack of telegrams that were sent out earlier, summoning the board members of Denver-Carrington for an emergency board meeting tomorrow, and then gleefully tells her that by tomorrow she will have replaced Blake as the CEO of Denver-Carrington. She still looks miffed about Mark blowing off her sex invitation, and she tells Adam that she's distracted by a minor personal problem. Her male secretary abruptly enters the office to deliver a memo, which states that the telegrams that were sent out could not be delivered to six of the board members, which means they can't make a quorum. Alexis slams the stack of telegrams down and shrieks, "Damn it!" and Adam snarks about how incredible it is that six board members are suddenly unavailable. Alexis says this isn't a coincidence - it's a manipulation...and she refuses to be out-manipulated by anyone. She declares to Adam that she wants all of the missing board members found by tomorrow...then dramatically crumples up the memo.

Krystle gets a call from Sammy Jo, telling her that she signed the adoption papers and dropped them in the mail - so they should arrive at Carrington manor in a couple of days. Blake is delighted at this latest development, and he and Krystle playfully chase each other around the room and throw pillows at each other. I guess it's better than him raping her again. He mounts her - ew - and she stares up at him, flushed with happiness as she says that once her divorce from Mark is final, they can remarry and officially adopt Danny. She squeals, "I want to celebrate!" and the two start getting it on, which...blech.

Kirby is moping in the solarium when Jeff enters the room. He asks her why she's been avoiding him, and she says, "No reason" then tells him she meant every word she said to him the other night...but that it's obvious he doesn't feel the same way. Jeff lifts her up so that they're in a really awkward looking embrace and credits her for being there when he needed her...and the two start smooching.

Singapore! Steven and his doctor are playing a game of chess. The doctor asks him if he plans on returning to wherever it is he came from, and Steven glumly says, "Probably not." The doctor urges him to "confront things" in his former life and explains that in his culture, it's common to examine life over and over again, blah blah...then announces that he has to go make his rounds.

Dan Cassidy (from Bali) arrives at the hospital in Singapore, 'cause apparently the doctor had summoned him to discuss "Ben Reynolds". Cassidy says that Ben Reynolds was on the rig in the Java Sea before it blew up, so it's possible this blonde mystery man could be him. The doctor says he's doubtful of that, since he was wearing a belt buckle with a big "C" on it (instead of an "R"). Cassidy mulls that over, agrees that it's really weird for a man to wear a belt buckle that has on it a letter which doesn't match the first letter of his last name, and says he'd be willing to take a look at "Ben". The doctor explains that he had to do extensive repairs on his face and didn't have photographs to work off of, so it's likely he'll be unrecognizable. The two step into Steven's room as he sleeps, and Cassidy glances down at him and studies him for several seconds. The doctor goes, "Well..?" and Cassidy shakes his head, then mutely stares at the doctor.
Picture

"He can't possibly be Ben Reynolds. The belt buckle he was wearing had a big "C" on it."

Picture

"Mmm...that is weird."

Picture

"By my calculations, Ben Reynolds would have been wearing a belt buckle with an "R"...or, at the very least, a "B" on it.

Blake arrives at Denver-Carrington and finds an enraged Alexis waiting for him in his office. She asks him if he received a summons to appear at a Denver-Carrington board meeting today, and he openly smirks at her and says yes. She haughtily informs him that six members of the board cannot be located, which means they can't have a quorum. Blake grins and retorts, "Yeah, I heard about that" so Alexis snaps, "You're playing me!" and Blake tells her she's in "a high stakes game" and that he has no intention of losing to her. Alexis dramatically shakes her head from side to side and vows to track down every missing board member and force them to attend her meeting - but Blake tells her not to bother, since he has all kinds of weapons he can use against her. Blake's secretary suddenly buzzes him and tells him he has an urgent call from Dan Cassidy in Singapore, and he's all, "Wha-a?" and picks up the phone. Cassidy tells him that a man who survived the rig blast on the Java Sea is recovering in a hospital in Singapore, and it's possible that this man could be Steven. Blake gasps, "Steven...alive?" and Alexis clutches her chest and breathily murmurs, "Oh God. Please let it be true."

Oh...it be true.

"As your mother, I forbid you to poison people you don't like with toxic paint."

"Two Flights to Haiti"
Original airdate: 1/26/1983

Episode summary: Fallon travels to Haiti to obtain a quickie divorce from Jeff. Adam offers Kirby a job as a French-English translator at ColbyCo. Jeff collapses during a tennis match with Mark and finally gets hospitalized.
Recap: Blake arrives home after riding around in his limo for the last few hours in search of Jeff. He asks Krystle if she's seen or heard from him, and she says no - but that Fallon has locked herself inside her room to hide from her maniacal husband, and also contemplate the most expedient way of obtaining a quickie divorce. Blake heads upstairs and knocks on Fallon's door, and she lets him in and hugs him. When Blake winces at her ghastly neck bruises, she explains that she's keeping her door locked in case Jeff tries to burst in and "finish the job". She laments marrying him in the first place and is adamant about getting a divorce, whether or not she has her father's blessing. Blake says he understands her hurt and pain, but urges her to hold off on the divorce until he can get to the bottom of Jeff's loony behavior, but Fallon just shakes her head and wails, "He's insane!"

Over at the penthouse, Alexis is pacing the length of her living room while furiously puffing on a cigarette. When Adam finally arrives home, she snaps, "Where the hell have you been?!" and he goes, "Out." She orders him to sit his ass down in the living room, which he obediently does. She reminds him - while dramatically shaking her head - that he blackmailed and threatened her at the end of the previous episode, then barks, "You didn't give me a chance to take that threat and slug it across your arrogant face!" Hee! Adam apologizes for the way he turned on her and let his temper get the better of him, then says he clearly inherited Blake's propensity for violence and acting like a giant douchebag. He then blames her and Blake for not searching hard enough for him after he was kidnapped...and Alexis rolls her eyes and says she's told him a hundred times that she didn't want to give up searching, 'cause she knew in her heart that he was still alive...and that Blake was the one who gave up on the search pretty early on. Alexis says it's wrong of him, however, to involve Jeff in his vendetta, and refuses to go along with slowly poisoning him to death. Adam insists that there's no danger to Jeff's life, then gets all pissy and threatens to walk away from his privileged new life and become "the lost Carrington" again. For some reason, Alexis doesn't like the sound of that awesome idea/solution and assures him she believes him (about Jeff not being in imminent mortal danger, I will assume) and the two kiss and make up.
Picture

"Why involve Jeff in your vendetta?"

Picture

"I have daddy issues and brother-in-law issues."

Early the next morning, a sweaty, disheveled looking Jeff stumbles into the mansion and runs into Blake, who forcibly escorts him over to the nearest sitting room for a one-on-one chat. Blake admonishes him for nearly choking the life out of Fallon, but Jeff just shrugs and goes, "It got heavy, yeah." LOL. Blake bellows, "What the hell is wrong with you? Damn it! Answer me!" but Jeff just stares back at him blankly. Blake says he's worried that his unstable behavior is an indication that something is really wrong with him (ya think??), but Jeff gets all defensive, blames Fallon for his increasing squirrelliness, and rails at Blake for not loving him enough 'cause he's a Colby, not a Carrington. He nonsensically growls, "You're always going to side with your family against me, so don't ever call me 'son'!" and storms out.

Fallon's packing for a trip to Haiti when Krystle comes in to see whassup. She warns Fallon that getting a divorce in a developing country could be a total disaster, then reminds her of the mess she's still in 'cause of her/Mark's faux Mexican divorce. I really can't believe that with all of Blake's money and resources they still haven't gotten that dumb thing sorted out. She wails, "We can't even adopt Danny until it's all straightened out!" Fallon thanks her for her concern, but insists on doing what's right for her...and what's right for her is divorcing the man who, yesterday, tried to strangle her to death. Sounds reasonable. She tearfully begs Krystle to understand that she neeeeeds to be divorced from nutty Jeff asap...and Krystle pensively nods and gives her a comforting hug. I guess these two really are BFFs now.

Fallon gives Baby Blake a goodbye cuddle...and as she's doing that, Kirby stands in the doorway of the nursery, watching her. She tells Fallon that the night she stopped by Jeff's office to invite him to a movie (which, incidentally, is also the night Adam raped her), all Jeff wanted to talk about was how much he loves her. Fallon says she doesn't believe he feels that way about her now, particularly after the way he just tried to violently end her life.

Mark is at the La Mirage, practicing serves when Fallon ambles onto the court. She thanks him for saving her life, and apologizes for dragging him into her personal shit. She tells him she's off to Haiti to obtain a quickie divorce, then tells him she's staying at a hotel in Port-au-Prince [and that if he's interested in following her there for a little Caribbean action, the staff at the front desk would be more than happy to give him the name and address of her hotel].

Over at ColbyCo, Blake has accompanied Fallon to Jeff's office to witness to Jeff 's signature on the divorce agreement...and make sure he doesn't try to strangle his daughter again. Blake tries to reason with him and says he'd like them to talk so he can get a clue about why he's been acting like such a crazed lunatic lately, but Jeff has no interest in doing that and bellows at the two of them, "Get the hell out of my office!" After Blake and Fallon beat a hasty retreat, Jeff phones Adam and orders him to come his office right now so they can gabble about how shady and untrustworthy Blake is.

Adam is sitting in Jeff's office with his feet up, enjoying a drink and Jeff's deteriorating sanity, when Alexis bursts in, looking fantastic in a turtleneck coat and fur hat. She sympathetically coos at Jeff and says he looks pale and exhausted - and when he gives her a snarkish retort, she insists she's cared about him ever since he was a small boy. She shakes him and cries, "Don't you remember?!" then announces she's sending him away on a loooong vacation. Adam looks alarmed and goes, "Mother!" and Alexis whirls around, clearly unaware that her psychopath son was sitting there, listening. He says, "You're a little late", then explains that he's already convinced Jeff to take some time off, now that they've both reached "a very great moment" for ColbyCo. He asks Jeff if he'd like to tell Alexis about it, so a zonked Jeff tells her he signed over his son's shares of Denver-Carrington to ColbyCo. Alexis can't help looking intrigued, and when Adam tells her that Jeff also signed over his voting control at Denver-Carrington to her, she looks even more intrigued. Adam suggests they leave Jeff alone for now, so Alexis stares poutishly at Jeff, caresses his face, and promises they'll talk later. Outside in the hall, Alexis moans, "Oh God...what have you done?" and remarks that Jeff looks as though he's going out of his mind. Adam stares at her incredulously and says he just handed her Blake's head on a platter. He snaps, "What more do you want, mother?" and Alexis just contemplatively stares into space.
Picture

"You poor, poor dear. Adam had no right to poison you with toxic paint."

Picture

"By the way, I signed over voting control at Denver-Carrington to you."

Picture

"On second thought, a little toxic paint never hurt anyone."

Adam orders a lavish lunch for himself and Alexis, then calls up Kirby to invite her to dinner 'cause, yeah, it's totally appropriate to ask the woman you raped four episodes ago out on a date. He brusquely tells her to just give him a yes or no, 'cause there's a lineup of women "out there" (meaning nowhere) waiting breathlessly for an invitation from a catch like him. When Kirby starts stuttering incoherently, he snaps, "Busy? Another guy?" and she says, "No, it isn't that", then mumbles something about the man of her dreams not calling her anytime soon...so yeah, what the fuck, she'll have dinner with him. That said, she wants him to understand that there will be no [consensual] doinking tonight. Adam retorts, "No fun and games for dessert again?" and she says no, and that if he's looking for that kind of action, he should call someone else. He accepts her terms, then says he's less interested in sexually assaulting her again than he is in figuring out how bright she is behind her sexy exterior. He barks, "I'll pick you up at eight" and abruptly hangs up. Such a charmer.
Picture

"Will you do yourself the pleasure of dining out with me tonight?"

Picture

"OK. As long as you promise not to rape me again."

Alexis sees the lunch spread that Adam ordered and goes, "A bit lavish, isn't it?" and Adam chortles and says, "I never thought I'd hear you use that word on the downside." He tells her to smile and celebrate, then pours two glasses of champagne and says the ends always justify the means. Alexis says she's not so sure 'bout that, then asks him if he has any regrets about poisoning Jeff and causing him to spiral into madness. Adam mulls that over for about half a second and goes, "Nope. None." Alexis stares back at him in horrified dismay and says, "Well, I do" and says she has plenty of regrets about the various shitty things she's done in her life. Adam asks, "Like the way you cost Krystle her baby?" and Alexis haughtily denies costing Krystle her baby, then goes, "Why? What have you heard?" He smugly tells her he's made it his business to find out everything about everyone in the Colby/Carrington clan. Alexis walks over to Adam and starts stroking the back of his head (which looked really weird) and breathily murmurs, "My son...my firstborn child. Sometimes I wonder..." She wonders if he'd be less of a psychopath if she'd been the one who raised him from babyhood, but Adam says he's pretty sure he would have turned out sick and demented either way.

Fallon's on the Carrington jet, which is about to take off for Haiti. Blake implores her to put off her trip until he can find out whassup with Jeff, but she insists on going ahead with divorcing her lunatic husband. She assures Blake she loves him and appreciates how hard he's fought for her marriage...but after her near strangulation at Jeff's hands, she's no longer interested in having anything more to do with that relationship. Sounds reasonable.

A sweaty, disheveled Jeff stumbles into the nursery to cuddle Baby Blake. He picks him up, coos to him about how they're going to do lots of father/son stuff together...then in the next breath tells the tot he feels old and wonders if he'll be alive much longer.

Downstairs, Joseph answers the phone - and it's Mark calling for Fallon. Joseph tells him she's already left for the airport...and then Jeff, who's been eavesdropping, suddenly walks over, grabs the phone and snaps, "That's right, Jennings. She's gone. Thanks to you, she's gone, ya creep!" He slams the phone down and storms out.

Blake calls the mansion looking for Jeff, and Joseph tells him he's on his way to the La Mirage. That can't be good.

Jeff bursts onto the La Mirage tennis courts while Mark is instructing one of his trainees. She sassily bitches at Jeff, "Hey mister - we're playing, in case you didn't notice!" Haha! Jeff tells Mark he's here on unfinished business, so the woman asks Mark whassup with this guy and wonders aloud if he's crazy. Jeff snaps, "Being right isn't crazy!" and starts railing incoherently at Mark. Mark wearily tells him to get lost, but Jeff refuses to leave the court and challenges him to a duel in the form of a tennis match, then picks up a racket and starts firing balls at Mark. Blake, meanwhile, enters the court and urges Jeff to stop acting like a lunatic and to exit the court with him, but Jeff refuses and barks, "Forget it! I have one more score to settle - then it's to hell with the lot of you!" He and Mark bat the ball back and forth for what seems like an unnecessarily looooong time...and when Jeff finally misses a return, he collapses onto the ground. Blake rushes over to him, orders Mark to call an ambulance, then cradles Jeff in his arms and moans, "What's happening to you, son?"
Picture

"Despite your recent shitty behavior, I'd still really like to adopt you. Whaddya say, son?"

Picture

"Blink once for yes."

Alexis rushes over to the hospital and runs into Krystle, who informs her that Blake is the only person the doctors have authorized to be in Jeff's room. Alexis asks what caused Jeff's collapse, so Krystle tells her that the doctors are running tests...and at that moment, Adam steps off the elevator and saunters over to them. Alexis stammers, "Tests? Why?" then says there's no need for any tests on a young, healthy man like Jeff. Krystle shoots her a WTF? look, so Alexis pivots and accuses Krystle of keeping information from her. Adam interjects and says he's very sorry to hear about Jeff's collapse, then tells his mother he should get her home, like pronto, before she unwittingly spills the beans about the toxic blue paint. He steers her over to the elevator, and once they're safely inside he assures her again that Jeff isn't going to expire. Alexis says she's actually more worried about what the doctors will find when they run their tests...and that they'll be able to tie the poison in his system to "that miserable paint" on his office walls. Adam tells her he's going to remove the panels from Jeff's office, refinish the walls, then have them painted with regular, non-toxic paint...and, yeah, the timing of that won't be suspicious at all.

Blake emerges from Jeff's hospital room and tells Krystle he's still unconscious. Krystle tells him that Alexis was just here, and was acting very weird. She says she has a feeling that Alexis knows more about all this than she was letting on.

Fallon is lounging in the bar of her Port-au-Prince hotel. She gets chatted up by a frizzy haired blonde woman, who says she's in the process of getting her third divorce. The woman decides that she no longer wants deep, involved entanglements with men, since they all turn out to be creeps anyway.

Krystle tells Joseph she's heading over to the hospital again, and when Joseph frowns and looks troubled, she asks him whassup. He tells her that Kirby is out with Adam tonight, so Krystle asks, "Is that a problem?" and Joseph is like, "Well, d'yuh" and says that Adam seems to be heavily influenced by his horrible mother. Krystle reminds him that Kirby's a grown woman, and that he really can't dictate to her who she can date...and he nods in half-hearted agreement.

There's a knock on Fallon's hotel room door at 3am. She asks who it is, and the guy on the other side of the door says, "Room service"...and of course it's Mark, who, not surprisingly, followed her to Haiti. He's all, "Surprise!" and hands her a fruity drink. She asks him what he's doing here, then tells him not to get the wrong idea about her, 'cause she's definitely not looking to fall into another man's arms. Mark looks fake insulted and insists that he just came to keep her company - and Fallon, who clearly doesn't buy that, tells him he should save himself for his tennis playing ladies. Hee! Mark insists he didn't fly here to score and says, "Don't color me as a dude on the make." Fallon apologizes for jumping to [what are probably some pretty accurate] conclusions, and Mark heads out and tells her he only came to Haiti to let her know she's not alone...and, oh yeah, if she needs him for anything he's just down the hall. Mmm hmm...there's no way that guy's not a dude on the make.
Picture

"Just 'cause I flew all the way to Haiti and showed up at your hotel room at 3am with a fruity drink doesn't mean I'm a dude on the make."

Picture

"Actually, I think that's the very definition of a dude on the make."

Adam and Kirby are dining at a fancy restaurant. She apologizes for being so glum and says she probably should have canceled their date 'cause she's rotten company when she's worried. Adam assures her that Jeff will be fine, but Kirby continues to wring her hands about him being in the hospital, blah blah...and kicks herself for not getting him to a doctor a lot sooner. Adam rolls his eyes and says he really doesn't want to spend the evening worrying or talking about Jeff, and then hands her a piece of paper. She unfolds it and looks it over, noting that it's a memo written entirely in French. Adam says he needs it and many other documents translated into English, then condescendingly says it would be good for her to use her mind for something more challenging than being Baby Blake's nanny. He offers her a job as a translator at ColbyCo, and Kirby says she'll get back to him with an answer after Fallon returns from her trip.

Blake asks the doctor if there's been any improvement in Jeff's condition, but the doctor just shakes his head. Blake (being Blake) barks, "Just how long does it take you people to find out what's wrong with a patient?!" so the doctor patiently explains that they're doing lots of tests, and the staff will analyze them once the lab opens in the morning. Blake's all, "Wha-a?!" and demands that the lab be opened right fucking now so they can quickly figure out whassup with Jeff. Instead of telling him where he can shove his bitchy attitude, the doctor meekly replies, "I'll see what I can do" and ambles off.

"Meet my meal ticket: Little Danny."

"Samantha"
Original airdate: 12/29/1982

Episode summary: Blake and Dehner continue to try to make contact with Steven, much to Krystle's dismay. Alexis holds a memorial service for Steven, which Blake refuses to attend. Sammy Jo returns to Denver with a bundle of joy.

Recap: Krystle wakes up, then looks miffed that Blake's side of the bed is empty...and in the next scene she's dressed and strutting purposefully down the hall. She runs into Dehner the Diviner, who tells her that Blake is in Steven's room, once again trying to make contact with his spirit/ghost/mental energy. Dehner accuses Krystle of being skeptical of his mystical powers, and she confirms that she'd love it if he packed up his shit and left. Just as she's saying that last part, Blake emerges from Steven's room - awkward! - and tells Krystle he'd like to speak with her privately. As soon as they're behind closed doors, he bitchily tells her it's A-OK with him if she doesn't believe in his efforts to find Steven, 'cause he believes in what he's doing. Krystle wails about how horribly this whole thing is affecting his health: he's not sleeping, has lost touch with reality, barely leaves the house, and has faux five o'clock shadow (since I'm pretty sure it's makeup and not actual hair). Blake denies losing touch with reality and points out that his secretary has been regularly sending him files so that he can run Denver-Carrington from the mansion. He growls, "What more do you want?!" and vows to continue to mope around Steven's room until he's able to find him...or at least figure out whether or not he made it to the afterlife.

"Blake, I'm really worried that you're losing touch with reality."

"But I haven't lost touch with reality. I'm running my company from my home office."

"Yes, but you haven't washed that faux five o'clock shadow off your face in days!"

Alexis arrives at the La Mirage to inform Fallon that she's holding a memorial service for Steven that afternoon. She asks Fallon to invite Blake, and Fallon says she highly doubts he'll attend 'cause he still has search teams scouring every island near the Java Sea. Alexis says she needs to move on with her life and that the moment she saw her son's jacket, she knew he was a goner...then blames Blake for driving Steven away, thereby indirectly causing his death. Fallon points out that Blake isn't the only person who drove Steven away, but Alexis shakes her head dismissively at the accusation and says she's holding the service for Steven, whether or not Blake comes...and Fallon sadly stares into space.

Fallon heads over to Carrington manor and finds Blake lounging on a sofa in one of his living rooms. She says she's heartbroken to see him like this: not living in the real world and wrestling with ghosts. He insists he knows what he's doing, so she tells him about the memorial service that Alexis is holding for Steven, and he calls it "well-intentioned, but wrong" and adamantly refuses to attend.

Later, Blake is on the phone with his search team coordinator in Bali. There's been no sign of life, but Blake refuses to give up and orders the search to continue. Krystle enters the study, decked out in a fabulous fur hat and matching tailored coat, and tells Blake she's off to Steven's memorial service. Blake grumbles that he's not going, then holds up a $1000 check she made out to Mark Jennings and asks her what the hell it was for. Krystle explains that Mark paid off Frank Dean, so she repaid him. Blake scrunches his face in annoyance and chides her for not telling him about it, so she explains that he was in Bali when it all went down. He then notices that she's still wearing her locket and asks her if she likes it so much 'cause of her sentimental feelings for her grandmother or her love for Mark (who returned it to her). Krystle insists that she's wearing it as an homage to her grandmother, then is all, "See! Look!" and opens the locket so he can see that there's a photo of himself inside. She then whirls on her heel and flounces out of the room, and Blake angrily crumples up the $1000 check and tosses it into the fireplace.

Everyone's gathered at the Carrington Chapel (yes, it seems that the Carringtons really do have their very own chapel) to honor Steven's life and memory. Adam glances a few pews down at Kirby - who's stonily sitting with Joseph - then smirks to himself 'cause he's a shameless, unrepentant rapist. A sweaty, queasy looking Jeff is sitting beside Fallon...and just as the reverend is finishing up the service, Jeff stumbles out of the church and huddles on a bench outside. Fallon dashes out after him and asks him whassup, and remarks that he's been looking green around the gills for a few weeks now. He snarks a bitchy retort, so she stalks off...and a few seconds later, Kirby appears and remarks to Jeff that it's been a terrible day...and then Jeff rudely stalks off. Adam, who has witnessed the hostile exchange, chides Kirby for being hung up on such a loser - then points out that he is not a loser...and that maybe one day she'll realize that and knock on his door. After he saunters off, Joseph appears and asks Kirby what that was all about - and she just shakes her head and says, "Nothing." Joseph glares at her suspiciously and warns her again not to get involved with any Carrington/Colby men.

"This memorial is sooooo boooooring."

Picture

"But I'm amusing myself by smirking at my recent rape victim."

Mark, who was also in attendance at the memorial, corners Krystle and asks her why they haven't seen each other lately. When she scrunches her face in pensive confusion, he reminds her that she promised him they'd be friends...and she gives him a funny look and says, "You came here to tell me that?" LOL. He insists that he had to see her, so she throws him a bone and tells him they're friends (sort of), and that she appreciates his cooperation with their divorce - but she can't really hang with him anymore 'cause she has a life with her millionaire husband. Mark barks, "He's not your husband!" and reminds her that technically she's Krystle Jennings - and that Blake doesn't have the right to tell her what to do. Krystle's like, "Blake has every right!" (say what?!), professes her love for the old goat, and storms off. A few seconds later, Mark runs into Alexis and bitches at her for screwing up his life when she enticed him to leave New York and move to Colorado. Oh shut up, Seventies Pornstar - nobody held a gun to your head and forced you to move across the country.

Back at Carrington manor, Blake is pleased to find Adam waiting for him in the study. Adam wanks him by telling him he believes in the efforts that he and Dehner are making to locate Steven, and that psychics can work wonders. He says he knows how he feels about Steven, then adds, "Just as I do" so Blake calls him out on all the trash-talking he did about Steven during the Siblings episode. Adam says that that was before he knew more about him, then cleverly pivots and gushes at Blake for his admirable strength and courage. Blake thanks him for the wanking, and Adam urges him to phone anytime he needs a sympathetic ear, then heads out. He runs into Kirby in the hall and chides her for eavesdropping...and when she just stares at him mutely, he derisively refers to her as a servant and "nothing more than the majordomo's daughter". She doesn't react, but just continues to stare at him mutely, which looked totally weird.

Mark is packing up his stuff in his La Mirage lodgings when Alexis drops by. She invokes their earlier conversation, when he accused her of screwing up his life, and poutishly says it's been haunting her ever since. Mark chuckles and says, "I'm sure you've heard worse", but Alexis looks all tortured and says she's been taking "terrible blows" ever since Steven's rig blew up. She insists she didn't mean to hurt him by luring him to Denver, and that she wants him to believe she's truly sorry. She says she wants to repay him for any harm she caused, then sits on the bed and tears up. Mark hands her a drink and coos about how much she's hurting - and she poutishly replies, "I am." The two then stare searchingly into each other's eyes...and just when I was starting to really worry that they were about to to start making out, they start fucking making out. OMG.

"Whaddya say we kiss and make up?"

Blake is in Steven's room, idly stroking a toy horse. Dehner tells him he continues to feel nothing in this room, so Blake offers to bring in some more of Steven's possessions - but Dehner announces that he's officially throwing in the towel and heading back to Malibu. Blake urges him to stay and offers to pay him more money, but Dehner declines the offer and says he's all out of hope. He suddenly pauses and asks Blake if there was somewhere Steven was happy, and Blake stares into space as he contemplatively mulls that over. Um...throughout Seasons 1-2, Steven was never not a mopey sad sack. So no.

In the next scene, Blake jumps into one of his fancy cars and drives out to the Blaisdel oil rig where Steven worked during Season 1. Krystle is in hot pursuit...and she watches as Blake dashes out of his car and scrambles up a dirt hill. She scrambles up the hill after him (wearing an all white outfit that she somehow doesn't get dirty). Blake calls out to Steven, and says he knows how happy he was working for Matthew and figured maybe he could reach him here. He apologizes for all the nasty shit that ever went down between them, then says he wants him to come back and promises never to stop searching. Krystle tears up, quietly approaches Blake, and touches his shoulder...and he whirls around, startled. He suddenly thinks of something that causes him to perk up, and mumbles something about needing Steven's jacket, then scrambles back down the dirt hill toward his car. LOL. Blake looks funny when he runs.

Blake arrives at Alexis' penthouse and demands that she turn over Steven's jacket. When she seems reluctant, he threatens to ransack the apartment until he finds it, so she gives in and agrees to hand it over.

Sammy Jo (yay!) is at a gas station, en route to Denver...and she's being brazenly leered at by the gas station attendant. He tells her he recently saw her naughty parts featured in a nudie magazine while she was doing one of those "girlie girlie jobs" but she just glares back and him and orders him to give her her change so she can hit the road for Denver. The attendant asks her what's waiting for her there, so she rhetorically asks, "Would you be surprised if I said one million dollars?" then gets into her car and hits the gas.

Krystle returns to the mansion, visibly upset. She stumbles into the living room, collapses onto a couch, and starts weeping. Fallon hears her from the hall and rushes in to ask her whassup, but Krystle snarks that she wants to be alone. Fallon asks her if something happened to Blake, but Krystle incoherently moans, "I've lost him!" then explains how she found Blake scrambling around in the dirt at the Blaisdel rig, and that he's convinced himself that Steven is still alive. She wails, "I don't know what to doooo!" and Fallon somehow suddenly becomes an empathetic person and apologizes for "trying to invade" her love for her father, and regrets that she's been fighting her all this time. Krystle snaps at her to not be so nice 'cause she knows she's just going to turn on her again - but Fallon promises not to do that and insists that she wants to be here, comforting her. Krystle growls, "I don't want to be with you!" and then gets up and storms out. Once she's in the hall, she pauses and looks behind her, then returns to the living room where she and Fallon collapse against each other in a tight hug...and Fallon assures her that everything will be OK.

Dehner is fondling Steven's jacket and it looks like he's concentrating very hard. He tells Blake he's getting "a sense of Steven", and that it's a sense of "the present, life, and breathing". Also, he feels coverings, like cloth or bandages. Dehner also gets the impression that Steven is unable to speak, and Blake scrunches his face in confusion and says he can't fathom what that means.

"My son! Is he alive?"

"What's this? I'm getting strong vibes from the producers that the role of Steven will soon be recast."

Sammy Jo arrives at Carrington manor and tells Joseph she will speak only to Blake. He ushers her to the study, and Blake smiles and looks happy to see his daughter-in-law. She tells him she drove all the way to Denver...then apologizes for "so many things". She tells him about how Steven came to Hollywood to beg her to return, but that she couldn't see her way clear to return. She says she's sorry for being such a disappointment, but Blake just waves his hand and indulgently replies, "You were young. Things happen." Sammy Jo, who says she now wants to be called Samantha, says, "I came to let you know..." then steps out of the room so that Joseph can hand her an infant. She carries the baby into the study and explains that this is why she couldn't come earlier, then introduces Blake to her son: Steven Daniel Carrington, Jr. Blake's all, "Wha-a?!" then grins happily, and decides that when Dehner sensed that Steven was unable to speak, he probably meant that it was the baby who couldn't speak. Er, OK..?

The entire household is gathered in the living room...and when Alexis and Adam arrive, Alexis looks around in confusion and haughtily asks why they've all been summoned. Everyone just stares at her mutely until Samantha sashays into the room. Alexis stares at her in surprise and goes, "Sammy Jo..?" and she bitchily corrects Alexis and says she goes by Samantha now. She tells Alexis she's doing very well, as is her son...and Krystle and Fallon turn around, startled, and are all, "Wha-a?" and then Blake enters the room with the baby cradled in his arms. He introduces the child to everyone as Steven's son, and credits Samantha for returning to Denver "in great compassion" for not denying him his grandson. He then stares down at the tot and declares that Steven will live on in this baby.

Later, Krystle is in the nursery, rocking the baby and cooing, "You're so beautiful!" Samantha enters the room and snarks about the irony of getting kicked out of the mansion, then setting the entire house on its ear now that she's suddenly back with Steven's spawn. She snarkishly informs Krystle that she calls the baby Danny (not Little Steven), then hints that she and Danny may not stay in Denver for very long. Krystle stares back at her in horror, and the episode abruptly ends there with duhn! duhn! duhn! music in the background.

What a dumb cliffhanger.

"Would you care for some post-coital champagne?"

"Danny"
Original airdate: 1/5/1983

Episode summary: Sammy Jo leaves her baby with Blake and Krystle, then heads off to New York to pursue a modelling career. Alexis drops by the La Mirage and enjoys a sexy nooner with Mark. A mysterious man (er...Steven), who has bandages wrapped around his entire head, wakes up in a hospital in Singapore.
Recap: Jeff is thrashing around his bed as he's being sweatily tortured by the voices in his head. I guess the blue paint has finally driven him to complete madness. His eyes suddenly pop open, and he frantically climbs out of bed and runs out into the hall where he encounters Krystle. She asks him whassup, so he mumbles, "I had a nightmare" and stumbles back inside his room. Krystle stares after him with pensive concern, but then puts a pin in that and tip-toes into Sammy Jo's room. She asks her niece if they can talk, but Sammy Jo pretends to be asleep and doesn't stir. After a few seconds, Krystle gives up on a late night heart-to-heart and tip-toes back out...and Sammy Jo smirks to herself, bitchily murmurs, "Sweat it out", and closes her eyes.

In the morning, Blake is in the nursery, staring down at Danny with a goofy smile. Krystle enters the room and smiles at the sight of goat daddy cradling his grandson. He tells her he's feeling things he didn't know he could feel, and Krystle warmly reminds him that he doesn't have to hide his feelings from her. He argues that he can't give up all of his defenses without a struggle, then pulls back from going his usual dickish route and calls her a marvel, and admits that he's put her through a shitload of emotional hell in recent weeks. He acknowledges, "Most women would have given up long ago" - which, well d'yuh, but I'm pretty sure that his money, mansion, and luxurious lifestyle is a UGE part of why Krystle continues to put up with his assholery. He admits to being obsessed about finding Steven - and that he said a lot of unfair, jealousy-related crap about her dumb locket. Krystle shrugs it off and tells him it's all in the past, and he assures her he won't forget her patience or forgiveness. She leans in to give him a smooch...and when Danny happily gurgles, Blake chuckles and says how happy and blessed he feels to have both baby grandsons under his roof. He adds that he gets the impression that Sammy Jo is a changed woman: more compassionate and grown up. Krystle makes a seriously? face then carefully says she hopes he's right, but that she generally expects the worst from her yokely side of the family.

"But I'd be so outta here if you weren't stinkin' rich."

Krystle heads downstairs and enters the dining room, where Sammy Jo - who's decked out in a fantastic '80s style workout bodysuit with matching tights and headband - is loading up her breakfast plate. She snarks at the maid for not bringing out sausages and bacon - damn it! - and the maid scurries back to the kitchen. Krystle stares over at her niece in dismay, then politely says, "Good morning" and pours herself a cup of coffee. She asks Sammy Jo exactly what she meant last night when she said that she and Danny might not be staying in Denver, and Sammy Jo tells her it shouldn't come as any great shock, then snarks about how unwelcome everyone at Carrington manor made her feel after her quickie wedding to Steven. She shoots Krystle the stink-eye and snidely adds, "Including you, Aunt Krystle." Krystle tells her that things have changed, and that she'd like them to have a start fresh. Sammy Jo says she had no intention of ever returning to Denver, but Steven's death changed all that. She then bitchily asks Krystle if there are any nagging questions she wants to ask, such as: "Is Danny really Steven's baby?" and Krystle pretends as though the thought never even crossed her mind - though I'm pretty sure the entire household is silently wondering 'bout that - and urges her niece to get rid of the chip on her shoulder and think about how Steven's death has affected everyone. She adds that the family wants to do the right thing by fully accepting her and Danny into the Carrington fold. Sammy Jo says she totally gets that she (Krystle) would love to have the baby around 'cause of the one she lost, and Krystle admits that having her and Danny at the mansion would mean a lot to her. Sammy Jo slyly says it would probably be worth a lot of cash to her and Blake to get her and Danny to stay on at Carrington manor, then makes it clear that if they don't bribe her with an adequate amount of dough, she may give Danny up when she moves to New York to become a model. After dropping that bomb, she flounces out of the room, and Krystle stares after her looking anxious and troubled.

A sweaty and irritable looking Jeff arrives at ColbyCo...and Alexis sees him in the lobby and calls out to him, but he doesn't appear to hear her and keeps walking. She heads up to Adam's office and asks him if he and Jeff have been at each other's throats lately, then explains that she just saw Jeff in the lobby and he looked furious. Adam assures his mother that there's nothing combative going on between him and Jeff at the moment...aside from the fact that he's slowly poisoning the guy with toxic paint. Alexis switches gears and says she's been neglecting business matters because of Steven's death, but is now going to refocus her energy on the problems at ColbyCo...and to that end, she's calling a conference with herself, Adam, and Jeff. She tells Adam she's going to want a full report on their operations, and Adam's all, "Wha-a?" and clearly doesn't like the sound of that.

Alexis arrives at the La Mirage and lets herself into Mark's room. Mark is in the shower, and there's groovy '80s music playing, which Alexis turns off and then locks the door. Mark steps out of the shower, cocks his head to the side, and realizes that someone must have turned off the groovy music. He emerges from the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist and finds Alexis lounging on his couch. She says she hopes he doesn't mind that she took the liberty of turning off the radio, and Mark says he doesn't mind, then drops his towel (!) and puts on a bright red robe. Alexis tells him she came by to deliver a gift, then hands him a box with an expensive watch inside. She credits him with saving her life and sanity, then asks him if he's still planning to leave town...and he shrugs and goes, "I dunno." She says she realizes that he hoped things would work out with Krystle, but points out that La Mirage is a magnet for rich, attractive women. Mark furrows his brows at the odd remark and says, "I thought we were talking about me and you" so Alexis poutishly contorts her lips and concedes, "Yes. It's damned hard to admit that I don't want you to leave!" She says that most of the boy toys in her life haven't made her very happy, so Mark takes this as a challenge and suggestively says he's not going anywhere for the next two hours. She's like, "Hmm mmm..." and makes a beeline over to the phone to call her chauffeur and inform him that she's staying at the hotel for "lunch" and that he can pick her up in two hours. She then leaves the phone off the hook and sexily sashays across the room...and we get a loooong close-up of Mark's damp, hairy chest and Alexis' hand as she fondles his damp, hairy pecs.

Krystle is in Blake's office at Denver-Carrington, informing Blake about Sammy Jo's plans to move to New York and become a model...and how she offered to leave the baby with them in exchange for cash. She wails, "She dangled Danny like bait!" and Blake shakes his head in dismay and asks Krystle what she wants to do about it. She says she doesn't want her niece to take the baby to New York or give him to a stranger to raise, and Blake pats her comfortingly and says, "It's all right because we're going to make it all right." Well that's reassuring.

Back at Carrington manor, Sammy Jo enters the study to formally discuss the Danny situation with Blake and Krystle. Blake pulls out a check and tells her it's probably more than she had anticipated...and she walks over to his desk to check out the dollar amount, and we see that it's made out for 100K. Given that she told the gas attendant in the previous episode that she was expecting a million dollar windfall, I'd say it's a lot less than she was anticipating. Blake tells her there are conditions, then lectures her about how selling a child is a felony, and that he and Krystle find the idea of purchasing a baby repulsive. He says that the 100K check is hers - but so is Danny. Sammy Jo scrunches her face in confusion and petulantly says, "I don't understand one word you're saying to me" - LOL - so Blake breaks it down for her tiny brain and spells out the two options he's making available to her:
  1. Go to New York to be a model, keep the 100K, but you have to take Danny with you
  2. Forget about being a model, live at Carrington manor, be a mother to Danny [and, presumably, have all the money you want]

Sammy Jo is horrified, mostly by option #2, and incredulously exclaims, "Be saddled with a baby?! Full time?" She tells them that her son is "a biological mistake" and that she (unlike Steven) is alive, and no one is going to stop her from doing what she wants to do. Krystle suggests that Danny should be the most important thing in her life, and that she's afraid she's going to realize this too late. Sammy Jo gets all tantrummy and retorts, "What matters is me. I have one life and one body. And I want to use it for me!" Blake back pedals on option #1 and tells her she can leave the baby with him and Krystle - but she'll be expected to come back for him as soon as she becomes the next Christie Brinkley. He refuses, however, to buy Danny or allow her to sell him to anyone else. Sammy Jo glares at him, then snarks, "I don't need your money!" but Blake calmly argues that she clearly does, and offers to provide monthly support payments for her as Steven's widow. Sammy Jo pretends to grudgingly accept the offer and bitchily snaps, "It wouldn't look good in the newspaper if a Carrington had to go on welfare." After she storms out of the study, Krystle laments to Blake about how her idiot niece is throwing away little Danny's first years, and Blake says she's throwing away something she never wanted, then murmurs, "God help her."

Fallon tries to call Mark - and when she's unable to get through by phone, she heads over to his room. Mark and Alexis, meanwhile, are lounging in his bed together, post coitus, enjoying champagne. Fallon knocks on his door and goes, "Mark? Are you in there?" A startled Alexis motions to Mark to stay quiet, but he ignores her and tells Fallon he's there, but isn't dressed. She tells him she'd like to discuss a proposal for a charity tennis tournament and wants a face-to-face meeting with him, blah blah...so he suggests they meet in her office in a little while. Fallon chuckles, says it sounds like he has a woman in there, then ambles off. I doubt she'd be chuckling like that if she knew he'd just finished nailing her mother. Ew.

Adam arrives at Carrington manor with a wrapped present for Danny. Joseph tells him the baby is out with Krystle and Sammy Jo, and that his other nephew is asleep. In other words, go away. Adam asks him where Kirby is, and Joseph tells him she's in the study. (The hell, Joseph?) Adam makes a beeline over there and finds Kirby browsing the bookshelves. When she sees him, she gasps and snaps, "You're leaving!" and he cockily replies, "Am I?" and immediately gets all grab-handsy with her. She yells at him to let her go, and he responds by chasing her around the room like a psycho nut...and when he's able to grab a hold of her, he pins her against the wall. Unable to escape his grip, Kirby shoots him the stink-eye and says, "Just because I gave in to you once, does not mean it will happen again." [You didn't "give in" to him...he raped you, idiot.] Adam retorts, "Don't give me that, Kirby. You wanted me that night. As much as I wanted you" and she glares back at him and insists, "I didn't. I don't." He gives her one of his creepy, intense stares and asks, "Then why did it happen?" [Because you raped her, psycho] and Kirby nonsensically replies, "Because you're so damn much like him" (wait - wuh?) and Adam somehow guesses that she's talking about her fake ex-fiance, Jean-Paul. I have absolutely no idea what Jean-Paul has to do with the fact that Adam raped her two episodes ago. Kirby disturbingly reveals that Jean-Paul had a knack for making her tremble at his touch (OMFG), then snarks, "Will you give me up too?" (The fuck is going on here?) Adam insists he wants [to rape] her [again], but Kirby firmly declares that she doesn't want him, then orders him to leave her alone - otherwise she'll call the security guard. Adam chuckles and leans in for another grope, mockingly asks, "You mean the security guard who works for my father?" then abruptly stalks out of the room.

"Oh..? Is he a rapist too?"

Alexis arrives at her penthouse and finds Gerald, one of ColbyCo's lawyers, waiting for her. He hands her a box of flowers, and when she opens them and sees that they're white roses, she exclaims, "How virginal!" LOL. She fixes him a drink, then says that ever since Cecil died, she's been way too out-of-touch with all the stuff going on at ColbyCo...and as a result, she wants a rundown on every deal currently in negotiation. Gerald asks her why she'd want to bore her pretty little head with business matters when she has so many good people working for her - so she invokes the Ahmed deal that went south and nearly got him canned, and he remarks that in the Middle East, a woman's place is in the harem. That's...a bizarre thing to say to your female, American boss - especially a ball-buster like Alexis. She haughtily reminds him that she saved his job, and he sheepishly agrees to give her a rundown on everything that's currently in the works at ColbyCo. He then frowns and expresses concern about Adam 'cause of what an impetuous prick he can be, and urges her to treat him with "a firm hand".

Joseph admonishes Kirby for interacting with Adam - even though he's the dumbass who directed Adam to the study so he could sexually harass her for the umpteenth time. Kirby starts babbling about how she thought she was an equal to Fallon and Steven when they were kids, but now realizes that in the hierarchy of Carrington manor, she's a second class citizen. This irks Joseph, who insists that he has the full respect of his employers, but Kirby's just like, "Great real, Papá" and tells him she had a taste of the "upstairs life" in Paris, and has come to realize that she has something that men want...so she's now determined to get everything she's due: respectability, and being regarded as "the upstairs girl you marry".

Jeff is at the La Mirage, looking sweaty and discombobulated. He runs into Fallon and just stares at her like a mental patient while his vision blurs. She stares back at him in bewilderment and asks him if he's drunk - and Jeff suddenly hears Fallon's voice in his head, pleading with him not to strangle her. Get to a hospital, like pronto, Jeff.

Alexis arrives at Denver-Carrington to conspire with Blake about taking Danny away from Sammy Jo. Blake tells her it's already been taken care of, then informs her that Sammy Jo is moving to New York to be a model - but she's leaving her baby to be brought up by him and Krystle. Alexis is all, "Wha-at?! How dare you turn over my flesh and blood to an ex-stenographer." Bwahahaha! Blake snaps back that Krystle is his wife, then barks, "And don't forget it!" Alexis poutishly asks him where she comes in - for instance, is she going to need permission every time she wants to visit Danny? and Blake's like, "Of course not." She says she's worried that Krystle will get all uppity and think the baby belongs to her, and Blake basically says it's payback for when she cost Krystle the life of her baby.

Alexis tells Sammy Jo she heard about her plan to dump the baby with Blake and Krystle, then asks her if she's signed any papers. Sammy Jo says she hasn't, and Alexis looks contemplative and murmurs, "Very good." She says she would like the baby to be in her custody - and, to that end, she will better Blake's offer. Sammy Jo accuses her of just wanting to keep the tot away from Krystle, then suddenly looks weary and says, "I really wish I had time to jerk you around, Alexis.  I'd love to let you throw money at me trying to outbid Mr. Carrington for Danny." As Alexis shoots her the stink-eye and seethes, Sammy Jo adds, "I just want to see you eat your rotten heart out over my baby. Start eating." She declares that Danny will stay right where he is, then stalks out of the room.

Sammy Jo heads up to the nursery to hug her baby goodbye. Fallon enters the room and tells her she's lucky her baby's too young to know what a horrible, cunty person his mother is, and Sammy Jo snarks back that at least she knows she's a selfish opportunist - unlike her (Fallon), who refuses to admit what or who she is. Ouch.

Sammy Jo heads back downstairs to say goodbye to Krystle before she begins her cross country drive to New York. I wonder why she doesn't just fly there. Krystle tells her that if things don't work out with modelling, she's welcome to come back anytime. She urges her niece to keep in touch, and let them know if she needs anything. Sammy Jo, who's suddenly very contrite, sadly declares that when she returned to Denver with Danny, it was to give them all payback. She says she's gotten a lot of mileage out of her baby...and Krystle correctly assumes it probably didn't end up being as much fun as she thought it would be. Sammy Jo nods sadly and tells Krystle that she'd like her and Blake to formally adopt Danny. Krystle's all, "Wha-a?" and eyes her niece suspiciously, so Sammy Jo assures her that she won't ever want him back, 'cause she's just not the mothering kind. She asks Krystle to be the mother she can never be, and Krystle mulls that over and asks her if she's absolutely, undeniably, positively sure about this...and Sammy Jo insists she is.

A few hours later, Blake returns to Carrington manor to discuss the adoption issue with Krystle. He says he's spoken with his lawyers, and they've warned him that the adoption will be a lengthy process, and that it will involve social workers, and them proving they'll be fit parents. Krystle pensively reminds Blake that they're not actually married at the moment, and she's worried what the court will think 'bout that. Blake thinks they'll be understanding about her fake Mexican divorce, and promises that as soon as she's officially divorced from Mark, they'll run over to city hall and seal the deal. Blake then abruptly switches gears and tells her he feels totally at peace now that he's called off the search for Steven, and that he's going to focus all of his energy toward showering Danny with the love he repeatedly refused to give his own son. Jerkwad.

We're abruptly transported to a hospital in Singapore, where we see a man whose head is entirely covered with bandages. He's being tended to by a doctor and a group of nun nurses. He suddenly starts moaning incoherently, and the doctor stares down at him and tells one of the nun nurses it looks like he's finally coming around. The doctor recaps to the nun nurse that the man was found in the Java Sea, clinging to a piece of wreckage...and, unfortunately, he suffered extensive injuries to his face. He asks the mummified man if he can tell him his name, or where he's from...but he just continues to moan incoherently. The doctor tells the nun nurse that the man is on his way back to the real world, and that eventually everyone will figure out he's Recast Steven.

Back at the mansion, Krystle and Blake are playing with Danny and grinning happily at each other. Krystle cradles the infant and says she's sooo happy he's going to be theirs, and that no one will be able to take him away from them. Like, ever. Blake grins back at her and nods...and that's where the episode abruptly ends. Weird.

"Madness"
Original airdate: 1/12/1983

Episode summary: Jeff's madness spirals out of control when he tries to strangle Fallon. Adam admits to Alexis that he's been slowly poisoning Jeff to make him more malleable to them. Steven fibs to his Singaporean doctor and tells him his name is Ben Reynolds.
Recap: Jeff is having problems falling asleep 'cause of Baby Blake's non-stop crying. He gets out of bed and storms over to the nursery, where he finds Kirby cradling and gently cooing at his son. She tells Jeff the poor tot is teething, but Jeff just scowls and snarls, "It's your job to keep him comfortable and shut him up." Kirby shoots him a WTF? glare and says, "He's only a baby" and Jeff snaps out of his bitchy madness for a few lucid seconds, seems bewildered by his dickish behavior, then mumbles, "I don't know what's the matter with me."

The next morning, Krystle is carrying Danny around the mansion, showing him all the expensive vases and works of art - but assures him that none of that gaudy crap is nearly as precious as he is. Blake ambles down the stairs with a goofy smile on his face and says, "Good morning" and Krystle coos at Danny, "This is going to be your new daddy!" Poor tot. A few seconds later, Fallon cheerfully bounds down the stairs and explains that she's off to the La Mirage early this morning 'cause an important client checked in last night: an Australian tycoon (and his wife). Krystle happily remarks that the mansion is getting "nice and full" of little ones, and Blake tells her that Steven would be very pleased if he knew she was taking care of his son. Fallon credits Krystle with bringing the family together (I guess they're besties now), then gives Blake a goodbye kiss and heads out. Blake stares after her sadly and tells Krystle he's really bummed that Fallon and Jeff aren't a family anymore.

Jeff returns to the nursery, where Baby Blake is still crying. He glares at Kirby and snaps, "Is he still at it?" and says he's probably sick. Kirby says he's just teething, and Jeff snarks that he's making way too much of a racket for a baby who's just teething. Krystle enters the room with Danny and tells Jeff that Baby Blake is merely going through what all babies go through and assures him that it's nothing to worry about. Jeff shoots her the stink-eye and growls, "Do me a big favor and take care of your own kid" and Krystle and Kirby stare back at him, shocked by his increasing dickishness.
Picture

"When I order Kirby to make him stop crying, she needs to ask how fast? damn it!"

Picture

"OMG. It's like you're morphing into Blake."

After Jeff bitchily storms off, Kirby tells Krystle not to be angry with him 'cause he's probably exhausted from getting so little sleep lately. Krystle gives her one of her annoyingly serene smiles and says she doesn't have to apologize to Jeff for her - they all still love him, despite how rapidly and alarmingly he's been metamorphosing into Blake. She adds that she knows how "special and dear" Jeff is to her, and Kirby tells her about her childhood crush on him, blah blah...but that she's getting increasingly worried about his nutty behavior.

Jeff enters the dining room, barks, "I just want coffee!" at the nearest maid, and she scurries across the room to fetch him a cup. Even though he could just as easily pour his own fucking coffee. Krystle enters the room and tells him she's very worried about him, 'cause he's not the same Jeff she used to know. She assures him she loves him, despite his recent bitchiness, and has been concerned about him ever since he passed out during The Search episode. She asks him if he's seen a doctor since then, and he snaps, "What is it with you women?!" and rails about how none of them gives a crap about calling a doctor for his gravely ill son. I think the toxicity of the blue paint is now starting the process of eating away at his brain cells.

Over at the La Mirage, Mark is playing tennis with the Australian tycoon, and deliberately throws the match in order to keep the rich hotel guest smug and happy. Fallon calls him over and gabbles about the charity tennis tournament, blah blah...then notices his expensive watch and remarks that he's been wearing it ever since the day she tried to call him when his phone was off the hook (aka, the day he was covertly nailing her mother). Mark grins and agrees that his new watch is awesome, then gets all flirty with her and implies that he'd like to buy her a piece of jewelry. She tells him it's not necessary 'cause she already has more jewelry than she could ever wear...and then the two just stand there, eyeing each other suggestively.

Jeff storms into Fallon's office and snappishly asks her if she slept well last night. She looks annoyed and asks, "You came all the way here to ask me that?" and he demands an answer. She tells him she slept OK, and he snarls, "I'll bet you did. I didn't see you all night!" She reminds him that they sleep in separate bedrooms, and he starts railing about how their son was sick, and that he never ran into her during the many times he stormed into the nursery to check on the tot (and needlessly bitch at Kirby). Fallon rolls her eyes and says he's just teething - but he just admonishes her for sleeping instead of looking in on him. He snarls, "Were you having pleasant dreams about your lover?!" and she wearily tells him to get lost and heads toward the door. He grabs her by the arm and demands to know who she's been hitting the sheets with - when suddenly Mark enters the office and is all, "What the hell is going on here?" Jeff releases his grip on Fallon and storms out, and Fallon confides to Mark that Jeff has been acting extremely squirrelly lately.

Jeff is in his office at ColbyCo, angrily throwing papers on the floor as he frantically searches for something. He finds what I'll assume is what he was looking for: a framed photo of Fallon. He glares at it as he has a flashback of when she and Mark were dancing on the diving board at the La Mirage party, then jumped into the pool and kissed. He suddenly gets enraged by the memory, grits his teeth, and violently slams the framed photo on the floor and grinds it with the heel of his shoe. Yep - his madness is definitely starting to peak.
Picture

"You kissed Mark, you slut!"

"Take that, framed photo of Fallon!"

Blake's secretary hands him some papers for the impending adoption. He looks them over, frowns concernedly, and calls Krystle to ask her to meet him for lunch at the La Mirage. A few seconds later, Adam drops by for his weekly mindfucking of Blake. He tells him he recently walked into Jeff's office and caught him playing a videotape of him (Blake) when he was in Las Vegas, railing at the fake Logan Rhinewood. He tells Blake that Alexis filled him in on the dirty trick Cecil played on him, then wonders aloud why Jeff didn't warn him about all the nefarious shit his uncle was up to. Blake explains that Jeff didn't know anything 'bout that, and Adam pretends to look perplexed and says how odd it is that Jeff would have been completely in the dark about Cecil's scheme. Considering that Jeff was married to Fallon at the time and also pretty chummy with his father-in-law, it isn't so odd, actually.

Back at ColbyCo, Adam barges into Jeff's office with a videotape and asks him if he can use his VCR...and Jeff's just like, "Yeah, whatever." Adam puts the tape in, and it's the Blake/Rhinewood rant. Jeff stalks over and shuts off the TV and asks him what he's doing with that tape, and Adam says he found it among Cecil's stuff when Alexis was cleaning out his office. Jeff gives him a seriously? look and goes, "And a month later you decided to watch it?" Heh. Adam tells him that Blake recently mentioned the videotape to him, and Jeff's all, "Wuh?" and demands to know what he said...so Adam tells him that Blake accused him (Jeff) of being involved in the Rhinewood affair. Jeff says he highly doubts that Blake would ever say such a thing, then asks Adam what he's up to...and Adam stares back at him with faux, wide-eyed innocence and says he's just curious about the cassette - but that, clearly, Blake questions his loyalty. He lets out a bitter chuckle and says, "Blake's trust isn't even skin deep!" then advises Jeff to transfer his baby's Denver-Carrington stock over to ColbyCo so he can have control over both companies. He adds, "Just something to think about" and exits the room...and Jeff vigorously rubs his temples and looks as though he might be mulling over the seed that Adam just planted.

Alexis arrives at Carrington manor with some brightly wrapped presents for the babies. Joseph tells her that Baby Blake is upstairs, teething and sobbing, and that Krystle is in the solarium with Danny. Alexis opts to pop by the solarium first and finds Krystle cuddling and cooing at Danny. Alexis remarks that she's getting quite attached to the little gaffer, then warns, "Don't get too attached. Your dreadful niece may come back and take him away." Krystle then smugly tells her that Sammy Jo left her baby at the mansion for good, and has asked her and Blake to adopt him. Alexis is all, "Wha-a?!" then storms out, and has her driver take her straight to Denver-Carrington..

Alexis barges into Blake's office and shrieks, "How dare you give the baby to Krystle?!" and accuses him of paying off Sammy Jo. Blake jabs his index finger in her direction and insists that he did not pay her off. He explains that Sammy Jo didn't want to be burdened with a baby, so she offered Danny to him and Krystle to raise. Alexis poutishly asks, "Where does that leave me? That baby is my flesh and blood!" She says she refuses to stand by and watch Krystle become his mother, then threatens to fight him in court. Blake looks wryly amused and goes, "Really? With your delicious maternal history?" and reminds her that she abandoned her own children. When she points out that he kicked her out of Carrington manor and made her leave town, he concedes and says, "Yeah, but I had damn good reasons." Alexis accuses him of trying to regain his second youth, and Blake snarks back that his son had a tramp for a mother - unlike Danny, who will be raised by a decent woman. He then barks, "Get out!" and Alexis huffily flounces across the office and exits the room.

Over lunch at the La Mirage, Blake tells Krystle that the terms of Danny's adoption have to be changed...'cause if they go the official, state route, they could lose out to the couple who's been on the waiting list the longest. He says they'll need to do a private adoption, which means that Sammy Jo will have to sign papers that specifically name them as the prospective parents. Krystle says that's a good idea, but Blake grimly shakes his head and says Sammy Jo can't sign the baby over to them as long as she's still married to Mark. Why the hell haven't they resolved that yet? Krystle wigs out and says, "What if Sammy Jo decides to give Danny to someone else?" and Blake assures her she won't, 'cause in her heart she considers her (Krystle) to be his mother. Krystle looks pensively stricken and says that this new development frightens her - but Blake tells her not to be afraid, and declares that - barring Steven's unlikely return from the dead - Danny is definitely going to be their son. And speaking of Steven's unlikely return from the dead..

At the hospital in Singapore, the doctor and a nun nurse check on their mummified patient, who's finally able to speak! The doctor tells him he had to perform emergency plastic surgery on his entire face, and since he was unconscious and had no photos to work off of, he did his best to make him look like actor Jack Coleman. Mummy says he understands, and the doctor assures him, "I think you will be satisfied." He then asks Mummy who he should contact, now that he's alive and recovering, but Mummy sadly shakes his head and mumbles, "It doesn't matter." (Yep, that's Steven all right.) The doctor asks him his name, and he says it's Ben Reynolds...then says he's too tired to talk anymore and pretends to drift off to sleep. The nun nurse tells the doctor, "Well, at least we know his name" but the doctor scrunches his face in confusion as he walks over to a nearby chest of drawers and pulls out the belt that Mummy was wearing when he was fished out of the ocean. The camera pans in on the large C that's on the belt buckle, and the doctor scrunches his face in puzzlement and says that something isn't adding up here.
Picture

"I can't keep calling you Mummy. What's your real name?"

Picture

"Um...it's Ben Reynolds. Now go away."

Picture

"That doesn't add up. If your name were really Ben, your belt buckle would have a big B on it."

Mark is chilling champagne in Alexis' penthouse when she arrives home. At first she looks annoyed at his presumptuousness in entering her home without her express permission, then quickly gets over it when he hands her a small gift. She opens it and finds a diamond broach, and poutishly tells him it's much too extravagant. He insists she's worth it and pins it on the collar of her blouse, and she breathily coos, "You're a very special man." His specialness aside, she makes it clear that she doesn't want anything serious right now, so if he's looking for a more permanent arrangement, he should look elsewhere (like at Fallon, for instance). Mark looks miffed and asks her if it's 'cause he's broke, and she hastily says no, then explains that she can only handle one passion at a time - and currently her #1 passion is directing as much venomous hatred toward Blake as is humanly possible. She tells him that hate is a far stronger passion than love, and that she really needs to dedicate every ounce of her energy to this priority. However, if he's still up for some guilt-free bedroom action, she'd be all over that...and Mark responds by leering at her suggestively and reaching for the bottle of champagne. Ew.

Jeff arrives home and bitchily asks Joseph if the baby doctor came - and Joseph says he did, and that, despite a slight fever, he declared Baby Blake a perfectly healthy, teething infant. Jeff snaps, "I'll check him myself!" and heads upstairs. He encounters Kirby, and asks her if the baby is running a fever. Kirby tells him the doctor said it's perfect normal for teething babies to run a slight fever. Jeff asks her if Fallon knows about the doctor's diagnosis, and she tells him that Fallon had to fly off to Aspen for business. Naturally, this sets him off again, and he pissily storms out of the room.

Fallon has just returned from Aspen, and is in her office, trying to reach Mark - but can't because he's busy doinking her mother again. She heads over to his room to see if he's there...and walks right on in, 'cause apparently he never seems to lock his door. Fallon sits on the bed for a moment to remove a pebble from her shoe, and just as she's doing that, crazy Jeff bursts into the room. He asks her if she got the latest update on their son, and she rolls her eyes, assures him she did, and that she's on her way to the mansion now. Jeff bellows, "He's burning up with fever!" then snarls at her for stopping by her lover's room first for a quickie. She tells him that Mark is just an employee, but he ignores that and asks her how many times they've hit the sheets today. She glares at him and goes, "What the hell is the matter with you?" and he accuses her of lying to his face, then grabs both of her arms and bitchily orders her to repeat: "I'm Fallon Carrington Colby and I'm no good" then rails about how she's a million dollar tramp, and a rotten person who doesn't give a damn about her baby. As she tries to fight him off, he throws her onto the bed and starts strangling her. Mark suddenly arrives home, is all, "The fuck?" and pulls Jeff off of Fallon and gives him a good backhand. The two then roll around the room taking swings at each other until Mark finally throws him out of the room - like literally throws him out the door. He rushes over to Fallon, who's totally freaked out and wailing, "Wha-at's happening?!" I dunno, but considering that Jeff came close to strangling Fallon to death, someone should probably call the police.

Fallon rushes over to Blake's office and tells him she wants him to let her out of the marriage 'cause of how completely berserk Jeff has become. Blake sees her badly bruised neck and asks what happened, and she cries, "He tried to strangle me! He tried to kill me!" She insists she wants a divorce, like pronto, and that she's afraid he's going to finish the job, but Blake assures her there's nothing to be afraid of, and that no one's going to hurt his little girl.

Jeff receives a memo from Alexis, ordering him and Adam to attend an upcoming conference. He does not look happy.

Jeff arrives at Alexis' penthouse, and quickly downs the martini she offers him. He shows her the memo he just got, and she says the conference is at her request 'cause she wants to get an update on the company and be considered an equal to him and Adam. Jeff sneers that she could never be an equal, and that he has no desire to teach a woman who got rich because of "an accident of marriage" the ropes. He mutters, "I've got better things to do with my time" and storms out. He's really doing a lot of storming around in this episode. Adam, who was hiding behind a wall and gleefully eavesdropping on the conversation, enters the living room and tells his mother he overheard everything. Alexis explains away Jeff's bitchitude by saying he's been working too hard and needs some time off. She wants to send him on a long holiday, during which she plans to take over his office and run ColbyCo. Adam pales and says, "You can't do that" and she retorts, "I can and will do anything I wish." He tells her she can't go inside that office 'cause it's too dangerous, then spills the beans about how he had the wood paneling painted with paint that was mixed with a toxic compound, and explains, "Something to make Jeff more...malleable to us." Alexis closes her eyes and has to sit down to process the disturbing news. He tells her there are vapors in the paint, which is now in the paneling...and "that breathed over time, it disorients the mind and affects the thinking process". Alexis stares at Adam in horror as he explains that the poison is an effective way of keeping Jeff from being a stumbling block for them and their plans for ColbyCo. Alexis so aghast to learn that her long lost son is a complete psycho, that she just dramatically shakes her head from side to side.
Picture

"I painted Jeff's office with toxic paint because I wanted to poison him into submission."

Picture

"Oh dear God...you're a total psycho."

Alexis gasps and exclaims, "My God, you're killing him!" Adam says there's no danger of Jeff dying, then asks, "Mother, do I look like a murderer?" Uh, kinda. Alexis replies, "I don't know what you are sometimes" and he snarks, "Thank you for that." She orders him to remove the poison from the office immediately, but Adam deftly shifts topics and tells her that Baby Blake owns thousands of shares of Denver-Carrington stock...and if they can combine them with the shares that Cecil owned before he died, ColbyCo can take control of Denver-Carrington. Adam explains that his nefarious plan involves getting Jeff to sign over Baby Blake's Denver-Carrington stock to Alexis. She mulls that over, and when Adam insists that they have to leave Jeff's poisonous office as it is, she blurts out, "No!" and says she won't take a chance on Jeff's life or sanity. He says that he, on the other hand, is totally willing to do that - then threatens to tell everyone that he was just following her instructions - meaning, that the poison paint was her idea. He warns her that she could go to prison, and she glares back at him and snarls, "What kind of a monster are you?" He says he's a product of her and Blake (which does kind of explain a lot)...and that she has no choice but to do as he says. As he casually saunters out of the penthouse, Alexis stares after him in horror, then slumps her shoulders and sinks onto the nearest couch.

"You know, Kirby...non-consensual sex between two attractive people can be incredibly hot."

"The Search"
Original airdate: 12/15/1982

Episode summary: Blake refuses to accept the possibility that Steven died during the oil rig explosion and enlists the aid of a famous psychic to help locate him. Adam lures Kirby to his penthouse and rapes her. Jeff grows increasingly ill from the toxic paint on his office walls and starts hallucinating.
Recap: Blake is in his Bali hotel, poring over the same map he was poring over during the previous episode. Alexis pops by wearing a fantastic safari outfit and insists on flying with him and Cassidy to South Borneo. Blake's like, "Hell no", so she reminds him that she's Steven's mother and an independently rich woman who no longer has to take orders from him or anyone. She says she will not allow anyone to prevent her from finding out what happened to her son, then threatens to charter or buy (!) her own plane to get her to South Borneo. A few seconds later, Cassidy arrives to collect Blake, looks at Alexis in puzzlement and asks if she's coming...and all three stare uncomfortably at each other until Blake lets out a deep sigh and reluctantly gives Alexis the green light.

Kirby finds Fallon in the nursery, glumly staring out the window. She tells Fallon that Blake is very confident that Steven is still alive, but Fallon says she doesn't share his optimism and wails, "Oh! Why did Steven have to die?!" Kirby tells her to just remember him when he was alive, and reminisces about how the three of them used to play together when they were children. Kirby suggests that maybe this tragedy will bring her and Jeff closer together - but Fallon insists that their entire relationship was a mistake of gargantuan proportion that never should have happened. Well, d'yuh. Anyone could have seen that train wreck of a marriage coming a mile away. She tells Kirby she wants to spend the day with her son and gives her the day off from nannying.

Kirby heads straight over to ColbyCo to visit Jeff. She invites him to go to a movie with her, but Jeff declines and says he has too much work to do. He warns her that it's going to be dark soon, so she should get herself home (which was a little weird) and a disappointed looking Kirby heads off to the movies alone.

Joseph delivers a letter to Krystle from her deadbeat brother-in-law, Frank Dean...and in the next scene, she's at the La Mirage, reading it out loud to Mark. Frank wrote in the letter that he got help from Mark, so she asks him what sort of help he provided...and Mark just shrugs and says he gave him a few bucks - and by a few bucks he means $1000 - then sent the loser on his way. Krystle says she's happy Frank is gone, but unhappy that he (Mark) was the one who paid him off. She insists that Frank is her problem, so Mark reminds her that he owed her a bunch of money from when he cleaned out their bank accounts and absconded to Mexico during the n-stage of their marriage. Krystle still insists on repaying him, so she pulls out her checkbook and writes him a check for $1000. As she's doing that, Mark notices that she's wearing her locket...and correctly assumes that she replaced his photo with one of goat daddy.

Blake, Alexis, and Cassidy arrive in South Borneo to talk to the injured foreman. The doctor warns Blake that the foreman is in excruciating pain on account of nearly being burned to a crisp, and therefore can't be questioned for too long...and Blake and Alexis agree and put on sterile gowns. They enter the foreman's hospital room and find him laying on a bed surrounded by mosquito netting, and introduce themselves as Steven's parents and ask him what he can tell them about the explosion. The foreman scrunches his face in pain and recalls that there was a sudden explosion, after which he heard men shouting and screaming...and he blacked out and somehow ended up in this hospital. Alexis asks him if he knows what happened to Steven, so he tells her that Steven was among a group of men coming on for a new shift. He then needlessly adds that Steven was a loner, had only one friend on the rig (Ben), and seemed to be running away from something in his life...and the last tidbit prompts Alexis to turn toward Blake and glare daggers at him. Blake and Alexis politely thank the foreman for his time and exit the room. Cassidy informs them that three bodies were just recovered near the site of the explosion...but Steven's wasn't among them. He goes on to say that Steven was most likely blown off the rig and then drowned, but Blake barks, "That's just speculation!" He says that Steven is a strong enough swimmer to have made it to a nearby island, and when Cassidy points out that his search team covered all the nearby islands, Blake growls, as if he has any authority whatsoever in Bali, "Cover them again! And after that, cover them again!" OMFG. He offers to cover the cost of the search and rescue effort until Steven's body finally washes ashore someplace - but Cassidy just stares back at him in dumbfounded befuddlement, somehow resists the urge to tell him to go pee up a rope, and quietly ambles off. As Blake glares angrily into space, Alexis sidles up to him and poutishly rests her head on his shoulder, and it was weird that he didn't pull away from the quasi-cuddle.

"You get your ass back out there and search for Steven on every island in the Southern Hemisphere!"

"And when you're done that, search them again ten more times! And then ten more times!"

Jeff is in his office at ColbyCo, looking increasingly queasy and sweaty. He's staring at a photo of Fallon and mumbling, "Why, Fallon? Why has it been so long and rotten for us?" then puts it away when Kirby pops by for a follow-up visit. She tells him she went to a movie and would like a ride home - but Jeff suddenly enters a zombified state and mutely stares at her, then starts hallucinating that she's Fallon. He gets up and stumbles toward her, babbling about how much he wants her. A delighted Kirby replies, "I love you too!" and Jeff pulls her toward him and kisses her hard while moaning, "Fallon.." Kirby's all, "Wha-a?" and pulls away from him and runs out of the office in tears. When she gets off the elevator in the lobby, she runs right into Adam, who grabs her by the arm and orders her to tell him what happened. She tells him she always gets teary-eyed when she's famished, so he offers to take her to "a restaurant in the sky" and she's like, "Sure, OK" and follows him. Big mistake.

Back in Bali, Cassidy tells Blake and Alexis - who has changed into a lovely yellow summer dress - that his search team found something near the explosion site, and hands Blake a work jacket with Steven's name stitched onto it. Alexis shrieks in horror, but Blake refuses to believe that it means Steven is dead. He barks at Cassidy to continue the search - but Cassidy says he's done all he's going to, and his men have to get back to their regular jobs now. Blake sneeringly retorts, "Fine! I'll get better men to do it!" - LOL - and Cassidy warns him that a search effort is going to be difficult with a typhoon on its way. He then beats a hasty retreat, leaving Blake stewing, and a despondent Alexis clutching Steven's jacket and weeping. Blake orders her to stop crying, and once again insists that their son isn't dead - but Alexis begs him to share in her grief. Blake suddenly perks up and starts babbling nonsensically about a psychic named Dehner he once saw on TV who helped police find a missing child. The fuck?? He gushes, "The man's a miracle worker!" Alexis looks at him like he's crazy and wails, "Steven is dead, Blake!" then says if he won't cry with her, she'll cry alone with only Steven's jacket for company. LOL. After she sadly shuffles out of the room with the jacket, Blake contemplatively stares into space and murmurs, "Dehner.."

Over at Carrington manor, Jeff tells Krystle about Blake's harebrained scheme to enlist the aid of a psychic to locate Steven. Krystle notices Jeff's sweaty disheveledness and says she's calling a doctor, and as she heads over to the phone, Jeff passes out.

Adam's "restaurant in the sky" ends up being his/Alexis' penthouse. Shocker. Kirby's getting hammered on champagne, jokingly rails at Adam for deceiving her about taking her to an actual restaurant, then derisively adds, "Deception is always part of men's game plans." Adam asks her if Jeff deceived her tonight, and she breezily tries to pretend she doesn't know any Jeff, then goes, "Oh yeah...Fallon's spouse." She asks him to dance, so Adam turns on some music and waltzes around the living room with her for a few minutes. He then undoes her hair bun, stares at her with creepy intensity and asks, "Do you want me?" She goes, "Want as in 'desire'? No" and makes it clear that all she desires right now is to dance. He reminds her that he once told her she was going to want him, but she says she doesn't remember that - and suddenly there's duhn duhn duhn sound effects over the dance music, and Adam leans in and forcibly kisses her. When Kirby tries to pull away, he grabs her with both hands, kisses her hard, and rips off the top of her dress. As she screams in protest, he pushes her down to the floor and mounts her, and she punches at him and cries, "No! Please!" Eventually she gives up the struggle and lays on the floor like a corpse while he kisses her, but there's no mistaking that she's not at all into being assaulted.
Picture

"So...wanna have sex with me right now?"

Picture

"Definitely not."

Picture

"Mmm..? I'll take that as an emphatic yes."

Not long after the attack, Kirby enters the living room, the sleeves of her dress all ripped up. She tells Adam, who's standing in the living room with his hair all disheveled, that she wants to call for a taxi. He offers to drive her home, then says, "Sorry that it all happened...that I lost control." To Kirby's (and my) utter incredulity, he adds, "If you're concerned for my respect for you, it hasn't suffered at all" and Kirby glares at him and snaps, "It means less than nothing." She says her respect for herself has suffered, and when he apologizes again, she barks, "Save it!" and for some reason doesn't address the fact that he violently forced himself on her while she was kicking, screaming, punching at him, and crying, "No! Please!" - and also doesn't come to the undeniable conclusion that he just committed a felony and probably deserves to be locked up.

"I need to call a taxi and flee."

"Don't worry - despite my violent attack on you, my respect for your honor hasn't waned."

"Come again?"

Jeff's laying in his bed, staring up at the ceiling when Fallon enters the room. She informs him that the doctor said he'll be fine, then scrunches her face with concern and asks him if she can get him anything. He snarkishly insists he's fine.

Kirby returns to the mansion in tears...and as she heads up the grand staircase, Joseph suddenly appears and asks her where she's been all night, and she just says, "Out" and hurries upstairs. She runs into Fallon and mumbles incoherently about how she went to a long movie that turned out to be a comedy of errors, just like life.

The following morning, Krystle heads off to Los Angeles to meet up with Blake and Dehner the Psychic.

Jeff drops by the nursery, where Kirby is tending to Baby Blake. He gives his son a cuddle and acknowledges to Kirby that he was really messed up last night. He explains that he was dead tired - and that his nerves were playing tricks on him, making him think he was looking at/kissing Fallon instead of her. Kirby pretends as though his obvious preference for Fallon didn't upset her to the point of unwittingly driving her into the arms of a deranged rapist.

Blake and Alexis are en route to the United States...and Blake is deplaning in Los Angeles, while Alexis is flying on to Denver. She tearfully tells Blake she wants to have a memorial service for Steven, but he forbids it and says memorial services are for the dead - not the soon-to-be recast. Alexis tells him he's lost his damn mind and insists that Steven is dead, then suddenly gets all riled up and wails, "When you sent him away, you killed him!!"

Blake and Krystle are consulting with Dehner in his swanky Malibu home. Dehner asks Blake if he has anything of Steven's he could use to get a reading, so Blake hands him the letter that Steven wrote to Fallon during the La Mirage episode. Dehner touches it and squeezes his eyes shut to make it look like he's thinking very hard, but then murmurs, "Very faint contact." He then declares it's not enough, so Blake asks him if he'd have better luck with more of Steven's possessions. Dehner vaguely says, "Maybe, maybe not." Blake chooses to focus on the maybe part of that response and invites him to travel to Denver with him and Krystle, and he agrees.

"For the low low price of one million dollars, I'm pretty sure I could make contact with Steven...or his ghost."

"Sold!"

The next day, Dehner boards the Carrington jet with Blake and Krystle. He's clutching Steven's letter and pretending to think hard again, then asks if he can be alone to concentrate on its cosmic energy...and the flight attendant/pilot/whoever shows him to the private bedroom. Blake tells Krystle he's pleased that she made the trip to Los Angeles with him, and she carefully says she thinks Dehner is an honest man and everything, but worries that his powers might not work in every situation. Blake gruffly insists they will and will tolerate no doubt of the man's powers...then immediately apologizes for being such a snappish jerkwad. He then notices that Krystle is wearing a locket, and instead of just saying it belonged to her grandmother and leaving it at that, she tells him the sad tale about how Mark pawned it while they were married, but then bought it back, kept it all these years, and presented it to her during the previous episode. Blake looks unmistakably pissed off, and when Krystle insists that Mark was merely trying to make amends for pawning her treasured heirloom, he snaps, like the big baby he is, "It doesn't matter. I have more important things to worry about." LOL.

When the trio arrive in Denver, Blake shows Dehner to Steven's room so he can try another reading. A tearful Fallon greets Blake, and he informs her that he's convinced Steven is still alive, waiting to be found...and to that end, he's enlisted the aid of a famous psychic. Joseph, meanwhile, informs Krystle that Jeff has been acting really strangely lately, and Krystle nods and mulls that over as she stares contemplatively into space.

Over at ColbyCo, Jeff is looking sweaty and queasy again. Adam strolls in and chides him about his messy office, and Jeff grumbles about how depressing the blue walls are. Adam's like, "Blame me. I chose it." [Uh, I think he was blaming you.] Adam offers to have the office repainted - no doubt to something even more toxic. After Adam struts out of the room, Jeff rubs his temples again and looks like he's about to fall over.

Blake is about to enter Steven's room when Krystle suddenly enters the hall and stops him. He notices the locket around her neck and gives it an angry squint-eye...but puts a pin in that for now and tells her he wants to give Steven's wristwatch to Dehner to see if that will help him contact Steven (or, at the very least, his ghost). Krystle refrains from rolling her eyes and urges him to get some rest, and he bitchily accuses her of not believing in the psychic's efforts to find Steven. He then shoves her away from the door and growls, "I don't want your negativity anywhere near this room - or Dehner!" - LOL - and Krystle wanders off, looking pensive and upset. When Blake enters Steven's room, Dehner tells him that if Steven is alive, he'll "come" to him here, and Blake nods approvingly and says, "He will. I know it."

Adam is at the Toxic Paint Store, buying paint of a different color for Jeff's office. The salesclerk reminds him that the fumes from this brand of paint are extremely poisonous, so Adam fibs and says he's painting the hull of his boat and that he's A-OK with the fumes' deadly toxicity. He gleefully says, "They can really mess up your mind after awhile. And if you breathe them long enough, they can kill you." The salesclerk just shrugs indifferently and is like, "Whatever, psychopath."

New Steven isn't ready to unveil himself just yet

"Acapulco"
Original airdate: 12/1/1982

Episode summary: Jeff grows increasingly ill as the paint on his office walls poisons him. Krystle travels to Mexico to investigate hers/Mark's divorce, and learns that they're still legally married. Kirby flirts with Jeff and gets icked out by Adam again.

Recap: Blake is packing for a trip to Washington D.C., where he plans to give the bigwigs the what for for dragging their feet on extending his shale oil loan. Krystle is standing in the closet, pensively flashbacking to the previous episode when Mark informed her that they were still legally married. Blake asks her whassup with her pensiveness, and she tells him she was just thinking. She swiftly changes the subject and says she hopes that Joseph won't be peeved that he (Blake) went ahead and packed his own bag for the trip, and Blake jokes that Joseph's packing skills suck 'cause all he ever packs are boring grey outfits. He asks her if she's upset that he's not taking her along to D.C., then tells her the trip is strictly business and promises that they'll celebrate when he comes home with "the prize". Krystle assures him she's not mad and pretends that the only reason she's so discombobulated is 'cause she drank too much at Fallon's party last night. Joseph enters the room with one of his underlings and looks miffed that Blake took it upon himself to pack his own bag. Blake ignores his majordomo's hurt expression and kisses Krystle goodbye, then reminisces about their wedding for no real reason...and after he leaves, she looks even more pensive than she did a few minutes earlier.

Alexis is on the phone with a Washington bigwig named Spencer, informing him that Blake is on his way there to try to save his company. She bitchily orders Spencer to personally see to it that Blake does not get the money he needs for his shale oil project...then threatens that things will go very badly for him if he doesn't put a stop to it.

Blake and Congressman McVane are on the private jet, en route to Washington. Blake promises the congressman that he'll keep bribe money flowing into his coffers as long as he keeps doing his bidding. He smugly says, "Money is mother's milk to a politician, especially when he's running for reelection" then sanctimoniously declares that his plan to extract shale oil isn't merely what's best for Denver-Carrington, it's best for the whole country...and that makes him a national hero. McVane rolls his eyes and guzzles his Bloody Mary, and an agitated Blake barks, "Have you been listening to me?!" LOL. Blake tells the congressman that it's crucial he do everything possible to help him get an extension for his loan, and McVane makes a face and retorts, "Why? So you can squeeze some oil out of some shale?" Hee! Blake snappishly retorts, "So I can squeeze a hell of a lot of oil out of some shale" then glares at McVane and bitchily suggests he start drinking coffee 'cause he wants him sober for the busy day ahead.
Picture

"Are you ready to do right by our country...and by our country, I mean my oil company?"

Picture

"No, I'd rather drink this Bloody Mary."

Krystle is wandering about her bedroom, pensively wringing her hands. She stares over at the phone for a few seconds, then picks up the receiver and dials Mark's number.

Kirby drops by ColbyCo to visit Jeff and wish him a good first day as co-president, then thanks him for being "so gallant" last night and rescuing her from creepy Adam. She bashfully lowers her large Bambi eyes and says she hopes he's not angry with her for kissing him last night, and Jeff furrows his crazy caterpillars and goes, "With you? Never." Jeff's secretary buzzes to tell him that some guy named Ralph is on the phone to give him an update about Steven's whereabouts, and Kirby takes that as her cue to leave. She heads over to the elevators and - ack! - literally bumps into Adam. He gets all grabby-hands with her again and as he's mauling her arms he says, "You're always leaving me." She tells him she has nothing to say to him, so he apologizes if he offended her at the party, then invites her to dinner later. She tells him she's busy working, and he says he heard she's taking care of "the little Colby prince." He tells her she's much too pretty to spend her time caring for his nephew, and that she should be thinking about having babies of her own. Kirby scoffs and replies, "You have the babies. I'm busy" and stomps into the elevator...and instead of gaining any self awareness about how this is now the second time in two days he has sexually harassed a woman who is so clearly icked out by him, Adam chuckles at Kirby's spirited sass.
Picture

"You creep me out in the worst possible way."

Picture

"I'll take that as a sign of encouragement."

Fallon's cooing over Baby Blake in the nursery when Kirby enters the room with freshly laundered towels. She tells Fallon that the tot uttered his first word earlier - mama - then tried to pull himself out of his crib [and make a run for it]. Fallon's all, "Awww!" and gives her son one last cuddle, then tells Kirby she's off to the La Mirage to bid adieu to Count Pierre. Kirby sheepishly admits that she knows the count, then tells Fallon she was never actually engaged to Jean-Paul and doesn't know how to break the news to her father. (Why would it even be necessary at this point?) Fallon says she totally gets that, and quips that all fathers like to think their daughters are virgins...then assures Kirby she won't stick her nose in her personal business (since she doesn't really give that much of a rat's ass about it), and heads off to work.

Krystle meets Mark in an outdoor wooded area - probably the same place she used to secretly meet with Matthew in Season 1. When he declares that she's technically still his wife, she reminds him what a shit he was to her during their marriage. She accuses him of coming to Denver to extort money out of her - but he vehemently denies that and says he just wants her to believe that their divorce was never finalized. She pulls out the divorce decree, and he calls it "a phony document that just looks official" and explains that he bought it for $100 from a lawyer he stumbled across in a Mexican bar. LOL. Krystle asks him why their fake divorce is coming to light after all this time, so Mark explains that Mrs. Colby hired a detective to look into the matter, then tracked him down in New York. Krystle looks puzzled and argues that Fallon has never been to New York, so he explains that by Mrs. Colby, he means Alexis. Krystle looks shocked (even though it's really not very shocking) and mutters, "Alexis has sunk to a new level."

When Mark returns to the La Mirage, Fallon bitches at him for cancelling all of his tennis lessons for the day...and Mark tells her to go pee up a rope and stalks off.

Mark has just finished showering and is wearing a towel around his waist - showcasing his muscular, hairy chest - when Fallon drops by his room with some champagne. She apologizes for her bitchitude and asks him why he's so bummed out, and he fibs and says it's 'cause he's getting audited by the IRS. Fallon doesn't buy that lie and says she knows he's bummed out because of Krystle, then tells him she saw them talking at her party. Mark snarls, "It's none of your business" then hands her the bottle of champagne and tells her to get lost. Fallon looks amused and clucks, "Temper, temper. It's not my fault you didn't turn her on. Must be losing your touch." Mark growls, "Says who?" and then grabs Fallon and aggressively smooches her. She decides that he hasn't lost his touch after all, then breezily says she merely dropped by to check on her investment and exits the room.

Jeff informs Fallon that he got a call about Steven, and that it's been discovered he's working on an oil rig in the Java Sea near Indonesia, and Fallon's all, "Wha-a?!"

Aboard the oil rig, we get a glimpse of the back of New Steven's head. I guess the producers didn't want to unveil him to viewers until he gets a new face after the old one blows off during the oil rig explosion. (Oops...spoiler!) He stays carefully hidden in the shadows as he chats with Ben, his friend who mailed Fallon the letter from Hong Kong. Ben recalls that the letter had no return address and asks Steven how his family is supposed to write him back, and Steven says, "They can't." Ben looks befuddled and says he has a rich family and people who care about him, but Steven just grumps that he (Ben) is so lucky he has no one to answer to. Ben replies, "That's dumb. Real dumb" and Steven's like, "Whatever" and says he needs to get some sleep.

Back at Carrington manor, Krystle is packing, but refuses to tell Joseph where she's going. He asks her what he's supposed to tell Blake, and she says to tell him that she had important business to take care of in Mexico. Joseph nosily asks, "Where in Mexico?" but she just blows off his questions and barks, "I'll be in touch" and heads out.

In the next scene, Krystle has arrived in Acapulco and is talking to a Mexican official with a really funny looking '80s page boy hairdo. He tells Krystle that her no-divorce situation doesn't look so good, since there's no record that divorce papers were filed to end hers/Mark's marriage. Krystle tells him it's imperative that she locate the lawyer who issued the phony decree, and Bad Hairdo says he'll do his best to track him down. This seems like a stupid amount of trouble to go through when she could simply file for divorce now, and then remarry goat daddy.
Picture

"Your hairdo looks atrocious."

Picture

"I have grown rather fond of my page boy."

Blake is back at Denver-Carrington, trying to track down Krystle. He barks over the phone to one of his flunkies to call the American embassy in Mexico City to see if he knows anything about her whereabouts...'cause surely the ambassador has nothing better to do with his time. Adam arrives, after being summoned by Blake, and Blake smugly informs him that his shale oil loan has been secured - despite Alexis' efforts to sabotage him with Congressman McVane at last night's party. Adam says he doesn't know anything 'bout that and pretends to be happy that it all worked out for him. Blake says they've both grown to care for each other...but sternly clarifies that these warm and fuzzy feelings do not extend to Alexis, and calls her "the enemy". Adam's like, "Well that's awkward" and reminds him that he works very closely with his mother. Blake tells him that Alexis operates on her passion and high temper, whereas he (Adam) is cool and logical (which is fairly typical of sociopaths). He then orders Adam to "ride herd" on his mother (!), and Adam snaps back that he's not a watchdog, and points out that Alexis is a very strong lady. Blake gruffly warns him that Alexis will get hurt 'cause she's not equipped to play in his league - bwahahaha! - and if he cares anything about her, he should warn her off. Adam says he doesn't want to get between him and Alexis, then asks Blake what would happen if he had to engage in the fight alongside his mother...and Blake glares at him and snarls, "I'd fight hard, with everything in me." Adam grimaces, then coolly says he has a busy day head, and stalks out of the office. Blake's secretary buzzes to inform him that the ambassador (or whoever) tracked Krystle to Guadalajara, where she was until yesterday. Blake bitchily retorts, "That's no good, damn it! I need to know where she is now!"

At the mansion, a sick/sweaty looking Jeff is getting ready for work when Kirby glances into his room and notices that he looks like he's about to fall over. She asks him whassup with his shakiness, and he smiles and replies, "Nothing. I always do that when I'm thinking." Er, OK..? She chides him for not getting enough sleep or relaxation, then starts massaging his shoulders...and he purrs, "Mmm...that feels good." After the quick rub-down, he says he has to get to the office, and weakly heads off. When Kirby looks over at the window, she notices - ack! - that her father has witnessed the entire exchange between her and Jeff, and is shooting her a disapproving stink-eye.

Joseph hauls Kirby over to the kitchen to lecture her about getting too close to a Colby/Carrington and says that rich people are shit and that they use people. Hmm...interesting. Maybe his worship of Blake is all just a front to keep his cushy majordomo gig. Kirby fibs and tells him that Jeff was upset about something and asked her to rub his neck - LOL - but Joseph doesn't buy that and says he's seen the way she and Jeff stare hungrily at each other. He orders her to go back to Paris and patch things up with Jean-Paul, and Kirby suddenly tears up and says she can't, since Jean-Paul was never her
fiancé; he was a married man. She hurls herself into her father's arms and starts sobbing, and Joseph is all, "Wha-a?"
Picture

"Absolutely no more massaging Jeff."

Picture

"What about heavy petting?"

Picture

"Let's go over this one more time.."

Jeff is in his office, looking sweaty and fatigued as he's slowly being poisoned to death by the grisly blue paint. When Adam enters the room, Jeff snarks at him for not responding to a memo. Adam claims he never received it, but Jeff insists he signed it and sent it to him. Adam asks him if he can look for it, then rifles around his desk and just happens to locate it in a folder, unsigned. Jeff is all, "Wuh?", then sheepishly apologizes...and Adam smirkingly replies, "No problem" and asks him if he's OK, since he's not looking so good. Jeff says he hasn't been getting enough sleep, and Adam nods fake sympathetically and says it's probably difficult to work in his dead uncle's office. After he leaves, Jeff rubs his temples and sweats some more.

In Acapulco, Bad Hairdo confirms for Krystle that her divorce decree was, indeed, forged. He's like, "Good luck with that" and leaves her hotel room...and a few seconds later there's a knock on the door, and - ack! - it's Blake. Krystle looks surprised and happy to see him, and the two hug. He smilingly tells her she's been a difficult lady to catch up with, and she tears up. Considering all the trouble he had to go through to find her, I'm surprised he's not acting like his usual prickly douchewad self.

Krystle explains the entire Mark/divorce/non-divorce situation to Blake, and he clucks sympathetically and says she didn't have to go through this alone. No duh. She says she didn't want to bother him 'cause he's been so busy trying to extend his shale oil loan, but he insists that nothing is more important to him than her. He assures her that they'll meet with his lawyers in the morning and sort all this out. The two start smooching, and Blake suggests going out for a romantic dinner. Krystle chooses that moment to have a flashback of her meeting with Mark in the wooded area, when he declared that she was still his wife. She's suddenly so overcome with emotion that she drops her drink, and Blake furrows his brows and asks whassup...and she says, "Nothing, I'm just tired."

Alexis sweeps down the stairs of her penthouse wearing a silk negligee and a fabulous fur trimmed silk robe. She says good morning to Adam, then admonishes him for not showing up to some party he was supposed to attend last night. He wryly tells her he opted to stay home and watch the news reports of Blake's trip to Washington. (LOL - must have been a slow news day in Denver.) Alexis mutters, "We'll see about that" and Adam snidely quips, "I thought you were going to see about that." She tells him not to be so insolent, and he snarls that he wants ColbyCo to devour Denver-Carrington and blames her for not making that happen. She coolly retorts, "What you think doesn't interest me" - hee! - and reminds him that she's a Colby and he isn't. She then switches gears and says she heard he met with Blake yesterday, and he confirms he did and that Blake is very tired of her manipulations and ready to do battle. Alexis chuckles and says, "Bring it on" then warns Adam that she knows more about life and ColbyCo than he ever will, and that she can teach him a few things - like manners, for instance. She tells him that Steven has impeccable manners, and Adam derisively snarls, "The wayward homosexual?" Alexis icily replies, "The always polite, sometimes misunderstood young man. Who was never rude to his mother." She tells Adam that he could learn a lot from Steven, and Adam contorts his face with rage and storms out.

Back at Carrington manor, Krystle is trimming a Bonsai tree when Blake enters the room and informs her that she's being granted a divorce by the state of Colorado due to desertion, and it will take ninety day to process. He jokes, "We'll just have to live in sin" then suggests they take a trip to Hawaii to complete the honeymoon they never finished in Season 1. Ew. Krystle looks surprised at how unfazed he is over all this, then says her divorce isn't over yet. Blake stares back at her in confusion, so she explains that Mark is "a mixed up, complex man" (LOL) and that she should prolly go talk to him about the impending divorce before the lawyers do. She wants to make amends for all the horrible things she said to him (the fuck?) and Blake gets irked and asks her if she still has feelings for the taut, hairy chested tennis pro. She insists she doesn't and that she just wants to talk to him...and Blake snaps, "I wonder about that!" then abruptly cancels Hawaii and storms out of the room. That scene was completely nonsensical.

Fallon drops in on Blake at his office in Denver-Carrington to ask the latest about Steven's whereabouts. Blake's like, "I dunno" and Fallon chides him for not making Operation Find Steven his top priority. (Um...wasn't Fallon just informed that he was on an oil rig in the Java Sea? Was that not specific enough?) She begs him to find Steven and convince him to return to Denver...and Blake hems and haws about that for a little while, then finally gives in and agrees to make more of an effort to locate his wayward son.

Back to the Java Sea..

The oil rig crew wakes up and gets ready for work...and Steven's back faces the camera as he gets dressed and trudges toward the door. A few seconds later, we get an external shot of the oil rig - and suddenly it explodes! NOOOOO!!!

"Whaddya say we mourn for Steven
over a romantic, candle-lit dinner?"

"The Locket"
Original airdate: 12/8/1982

Episode summary: Krystle and Mark share a few tender moments at the La Mirage as they discuss legally ending their marriage. Kirby continues to flirt with Jeff, then gets propositioned by Adam. Blake and Alexis fly to Bali to begin the search for Steven.
Recap: Krystle is pensively staring at herself in the mirror when Blake enters the bedroom. He orders her to tell him the whole sordid story of how she and Mark met, how and why they got married - and to look at him while she's telling it, damn it. (It remains unclear why the decade old story of how Krystle met/fell in love with/married Mark is any of the fuckbag's business.) He also wants to know why she insisted on making her divorce from Mark so personal when she could have just handed the matter over to his lawyers. Well...d'yuh. Krystle calls her divorce from Mark "a private thing" which she would prefer to deal with in her own special way...and she really has no desire to talk about it with him. Joseph interrupts to inform Blake that he has an emergency call from Hong Kong, and Blake mutters that his investigator flunky must have finally located Steven. He heads to the study to take the call, even though there's a phone extension in the bedroom - but maybe the call came through on one of his private lines that can only be accessed in only one room of the mansion. Ah, '80s phone technology.

Krystle has a flashback of when she was married to Mark and sported her unflattering Big Valley hairdo. She and Mark are admiring the tiny photo of him that she has inside her locket, and she coos, "Now I'll have you close to my heart whenever I wear it." She tells him she'll miss him, and will join him when he hits it big - so he sheepishly breaks the news that he's not actually on the tennis circuit anymore. Krystle looks unfazed and assures him that someday, somehow he'll become a superstar on the court, and the two gabble about how much they need and love each other and start smooching in earnest. Krystle is suddenly jolted out of her reverie when Blake re-enters the bedroom, looking ashen and discombobulated. Krystle asks him whassup, and he slumps into the nearest chair and tells her there was an explosion in the Java Sea. Five men working aboard an oil rig are missing and presumed dead - Steven among them. Krystle puts on her pensively sympathetic face and tells Blake how sorry she is - and Blake retorts by railing about how he wants answers about the explosion, and that she can shove her sympathy 'cause he won't allow anyone to write Steven off just yet.

The next morning, Blake books a first class ticket to Bali. Jeff offers to contact his staff at the Bali division of ColbyCo (LOL) to look into the explosion, but Blake says it's best that he take care of the matter himself. He can't seem to shake the feeling that Steven is alive, calling out for him...and feels closer to his son than ever before. Fallon begs him to take her to Bali with him, but he insists he needs to do this alone. After Blake heads upstairs, Jeff tries to comfort Fallon, but she bitchily shoves him away and runs off. Kirby, who witnessed the snub from across the hall, explains to Jeff that Fallon is in so much pain that it's hard for her to let anyone get close. She starts caressing his cheek, when suddenly Joseph - ack! - appears and glares at them disapprovingly. He brusquely reminds Kirby that she has nannying to do, and she and Jeff scurry off in opposite directions.

"Good night! This upstairs/downstairs flirtation is getting out of hand."

Blake finds Krystle packing her suitcase and asks her why the hell she's doing that, and she gives him a funny look and says, "I'm going with you." He growls, "I have to do this alone" and explains that since it's his fault that Steven angrily left Denver at the end of Season 2, he should be the one who searches for him now. Krystle insists that her place is with him and begs him to change his mind, but he snarls, "I don't need anyone to fight my battles!", shoots her the stink-eye, and storms out. Krystle stares after him with a pensively anxious expression on her face.

Jeff arrives at the penthouse to break the news about Steven to Alexis...but Adam bitchily tells him she's unavailable. Jeff says he needs to talk to her, like asap, then blurts out that Steven is presumed blown up after the rig he was working on exploded in the Java Sea. Adam cringes, gasps, then exclaims, "Oh my God, Jeff!" and says he should prolly be the one to deliver the bad news to his mum. Jeff doesn't reply and just stares at him blankly.

Fallon's in Steven's bedroom, draped across his bed, sobbing. Krystle tiptoes in and asks her if she's OK, and she snaps, "Go away!" Krystle scrunches her face in irritation and says she doesn't get this family, and complains about how the Carringtons have a tendency to deal with tragedy by going off alone like wounded bears. She reminds Fallon that she too loved Steven - and that for a long time, he was her only friend in the mansion. She then offers to help with anything Fallon might need done at the La Mirage, and needlessly informs her that she's heading over there later to clear up some things with Mark. Fallon glares at her and accuses her of planning to hook up with her ex-husband the minute her current husband is out the door (or vice versa, since she's still technically married to Mark). Krystle says she's going to let that cunty remark slide, since she knows how upset she is, then reminds Fallon that the only reason Mark is in her life right now is 'cause she and Alexis worked so hard to put him there. To be fair, that was really more Alexis' doing.

Alexis is slumped over the couch as she despondently processes the news about Steven. She moans to Adam, who's tightly cuddling her from behind (OMFG), about how drained and numb she feels, then breathily murmurs, "Thank God I have you." He asks her if it's a wise idea to fly to Bali with Blake, then snidely adds that he feels zero sympathy toward the old goat. Alexis points out that Steven's death is Blake's loss too, then chides Adam for holding grudges at such a sad time. Incidentally, there's something very Bates Motel-ish about this creepy mother-son relationship.

"I feel sad about Steven."

"And really uncomfortable that you're practically spooning me on the sofa."

Alexis and Adam arrive at the mansion in search of some familial sympathy. Fallon gives Alexis an obligatory hug, then snarkishly asks Adam what he's doing here. Alexis tut tuts her hostility, and Adam says this isn't the time or the place to try to settle their differences. Alexis and Fallon amble over to the study, where Alexis reminisces about the last time Steven told everyone to go to hell. (Hee! That was an awesome episode.) Alexis then shakes off the disturbing memory and says she needs to pull herself together before she talks to Blake - but Fallon informs her that Blake is already en route to Bali. Alexis silently ponders that nugget as she looks out the window and seems intrigued when she notices Krystle morosely wandering around the pool. She flounces through a set of French doors leading to the backyard and storms over to Krystle. She admonishes her for bringing her trashy family into their lives, and Krystle looks perplexed and reminds her that Sammy Jo is long gone. Alexis insists if she hadn't brought that tart into the mansion, Steven would still be alive. Wait - wuh? Krystle says she's going to ignore that nonsensical accusation 'cause she knows she's mourning for Steven, but Alexis continues to rail about how much she hates Sammy Jo for what she did and hates her (Krystle) for her part in all of it. Krystle reminds her that she's the one who paid Sammy Jo to leave Steven, then says if she'd stayed in the marriage, maybe the two would have been able to make a go of it. Well that's just crazy talk. Alexis scoffs at that and says there was nothing between those two - but Krystle disagrees, so Alexis derisively snaps, "Love?" and Krystle replies, "Yeah...but a fragile, special kind of love." LOL - the kind that can only exist between a sexually confused rich man and a gold-digging opportunist. Krystle extends her sympathies to Alexis for the loss of her son, but reminds her that she feels it too 'cause she also loved Steven. She abruptly storms away, which was unfortunate 'cause I was kinda hoping that Alexis might shove her into the pool and thereby spark another of their legendary cat fights.

Over at La Mirage, Mark is giving a tennis lesson to a super cute blonde woman named Barbie, who looks exactly as I would imagine a real life Barbie doll would look like. We get a lot of gratuitously superfluous footage of Barbie jiggling bralessly across the court - until Mark notices that Krystle has arrived and is watching him from the stands. He aims a rough serve in Barbie's direction, and she pauses her jiggling to exclaim, "Darn near took my head off!" Mark apologizes and says they need to wind it down for today, but promises to give her extra time tomorrow - and she's like, "OK!" and happily scampers off. Mark walks over to Krystle and asks her whassup, so she tells him she came to apologize for accusing him of lying about their divorce not being legal. She tells him she went to Mexico to check it out and learned he was telling the truth. She then asks him if they can talk in private, so he invites her to his place...and when she furrows her brows concernedly, he assures her she'll be safe and adds, "I'm not hittin' the moves like in the old days." Well that's a relief.

"Awesome serve, Barbie!"

"Thanks. I'm really enjoying all this gratuitous air time!"

Krystle tells Mark she's going to file for divorce in Colorado and that the process will take about three months. Mark says she could have just sent a lawyer to inform him of this - no duh - so she says, "I felt it was really my problem." She reminisces about all the wonderful years they spent together as husband and wife and says she didn't want it to end with lawyers and hostility. He wryly thanks her for not throwing in his face all the not so wonderful problems he caused in their marriage, then promises not to do anything to hold up the divorce proceedings. He asks her if they can still be friends, and she gives him one of her vapid smiles and says, "Of course we can" and he perks up and goes, "Do you really mean that?" She assures him she does, shoots him another vapid smile, and exits his apartment...leaving him staring after her longingly. Oh dear.

Blake is en route to Bali, and he's in the first class cabin, re-reading the letter that Steven sent to Fallon during the La Mirage episode. Alexis enters the cabin [hey - how'd she get aboard the flight so fast?!], and when a flight attendant half-heartedly tries to prevent her from entering the restricted area, she snarks that there were no first class tickets available on this shitastic airline, and then flounces over to where Blake's sitting. He glares at her and growls, "What the devil are you doing here?" and she snatches the letter, looks it over, and bitches about how no one told her that Steven got in touch with the family. She then rails about how no one also bothered to inform her when her grandson was safely recovered from his kidnapper. Blake snarls that the current Steven Situation has nothing to do with her, and she narrows her eyes at him and wails, "What kind of monster are you?!" and lunges at him with her hands wrapped around his neck. Hahaha!! Awesome!  Blake easily shoves her off of him and insists that Steven isn't dead, and she stares back at him with an expression of intrigue while dramatic duhn duhn duhn music abruptly starts playing in the background. LOL.

Back at Carrington manor, Fallon is morosely gazing into the swimming pool. She hallucinates that she sees a dead body at the bottom of the pool and starts shrieking and wigging out - and Adam (who, for some reason, is loitering nearby) runs over and asks whassup. She says she was just imagining that Steven's lifeless body was floating near the bottom of the ocean (er...OK?), then apologizes for her bitchitude yesterday. He tells her not to worry about it and that he'd like it if she stopped thinking of him as an intruder on her grief. He says he would have liked to have met Steven, and that it would have been cool to have grown up with siblings [instead of a demented kidnapper]. Fallon says that Steven was very special to her, since he's the only person who really understood her...and Adam says he'd like a chance to be her brother too, but Fallon's like, "I dunno" and says it's too painful for her to ponder at the moment. She mutters, "Maybe in time" and then spacily wanders off.

Kirby's walking Baby Blake in his huge baby carriage on the estate when Adam drives by. He stops the car and apologizes for acting like an aggressive psycho at Fallon's party the other night. He admits, "I came on pretty strong. It happens sometimes - especially when I meet a girl who turns me on as much as you do." In other words, the aroused state of his penis is totally Kirby's fault. Kirby looks icked out, the way she generally looks in Adam's presence, and says he needs to apologize for saying that just now - but Adam just chuckles and says she owes him "a sporting chance" to get her in the sack. He invites her out for a night of dinner and dancing, but she gives him a funny look and reminds him he just lost a brother. He shrugs and says that Steven's nothing more than a name to him - whereas she is attractive and, is once again, turning him on. Baby Blake gurgles his disgust, so Adam peeks into the carriage and derisively mutters, "Ahh...the little prince." He then slips his arm around Kirby's waist and pulls her close to him and says he'd like some time with her without the pesky baby hanging around. He breathily adds, "Look forward to it, Kirby. I do." Gross.

"I tend to get overly aggressive whenever a woman turns me on as much as you do."

"Run, Kirby, run! I can wheel myself home."

Joseph arrives at ColbyCo to speak with Jeff, who's looking sicker and sweatier than ever from the toxic blue paint, about his flirty behavior with Kirby. Jeff looks up at him, bleary-eyed, and goes, "Huh?" so Joseph explains that Kirby has had a huge crush on him since girlhood, and that he'd appreciate it if he (Jeff) wouldn't do anything to encourage her. Jeff looks puzzled, then suddenly becomes so enraged that he starts yelling at Joseph for accusing him of being a rapist. He grabs him by the collar, hauls him to his feet, and bellows, "What evidence do you have?!" and Joseph just stares back at him, unfazed. LOL. Jeff looks like he suddenly realizes now nutty he's acting and promptly releases Joseph. He apologizes and says, "I don't know what came over me" and wonders if the ghost of Cecil is torturing him, since the more time he spends in this office, the worse he feels. Joseph says he's probably just overworked and apologizes for bothering him. Jeff assures him he won't do anything to lead Kirby on, and Joseph thanks him and stiffly exits.

Joseph informs Krystle that Frank Dean (Sammy Jo's pa) is at the mansion gate, waiting to see her. Krystle purses her lips pensively, then tells Joseph it's OK to let the deadbeat inside. A few seconds later, Frank ambles into the study and is surprised to learn that his skanky daughter no longer lives in Carrington manor. Krystle explains that she moved out awhile ago...and he sheepishly admits he's a lousy father and that his ex-girlfriend was a bad influence on him where parenting was concerned. He says he wants to do raat by Sammy Jo, and offers his condolences for Steven's untimely death, but Krystle rolls her eyes and accuses him of just wanting to get his hands on Steven's money. Frank denies that and says he isn't leaving until she tells him where Sammy Jo went, but Krystle says she has no idea. Frank snarls that his daughter is bound to come into money from her dead husband's estate - and he's going to ensure that she gets it. Krystle angrily throws him out.

Blake has arrived in Bali and is admonishing Cassidy, the investigator (or whoever), for not formulating a plan fast enough to search for survivors of the explosion. Cassidy points at a large map and says the area is just too big...and much of it is open sea. He mentions that the foreman of the rig survived the blast...and Alexis, who's also in the room, perks up and says she'd like to speak with him. Cassidy says she can't 'cause he's at a hospital far away from here, but he'd be happy to fly them both there tomorrow. Blake snaps, "That's not good enough!" and says he needs to fly them there right now, but Cassidy explains that a typhoon is expected to hit the area within the next few hours. Blake bellows, "I don't care!" and orders him to find a suicidal pilot who's willing to fly in a typhoon. Cassidy gives him a look of puzzlement and asks, "Why won't you listen to reason?" - bwahahahahaha! - and Blake snatches up the phone receiver from a nearby desk, thrusts it at him, and barks, "Do it!" and the scene fades to black before Cassidy can tell Blake to go pee up a rope.

Over at Carrington manor, Fallon and Krystle are picking at their breakfasts, waiting for Blake to call. When the phone rings, Fallon quickly answers - but is disappointed when it's just Mark calling for Krystle. He asks Krystle to meet him at the La Mirage in an hour to sort out a property settlement issue, and Fallon rolls her eyes in disgust and stalks out of the room. In the next scene, Krystle heads out in her fancy car...and is spotted by Frank, who's been staked out near the mansion in his shitty little car. He follows her...and when they both arrive at the hotel, he gets out of his car, runs toward her and loudly admonishes her for treating him like trash. Mark witnesses the altercation and runs over, pulls Frank away from Krystle, and tosses him across the parking lot. He warns the white trash skank never to put his hands "on this lady again" or he'll fuck him up royally. Krystle, who looks kinda turned on by the sexy rescue, gives Mark a grateful hug.

Krystle and Mark sit at an outdoor patio. She asks him what he meant earlier by "property settlement", so he hands her an envelop...and when she opens it she finds the locket she owned when they were married. She coos, "Oh Mark!" and he tells her he pawned it during his alcoholic days, but then bought it back so he'd have something to remember her by. For some reason, Krystle looks touched by that.

Blake is in his hotel room in Bali, poring over a map of the area when Cassidy stops by. Blake bitches at him for not getting back to him sooner, and an exasperated Cassidy says, "Anybody ever tell you you're not much fun to deal with?" Blake instantly looks sheepish at being called out on his douchewaddery by a man who's not one of his flunkies, and apologizes for behaving like such an ass. Cassidy says he found him a pilot who's stupid enough to fly during a typhoon, then points at himself. Blake thanks him, and the two agree to meet at 6:00am.
Picture

"Has anyone ever told you what a monumental douchewad you are?"

Picture

"I may have been told that a few hundred times. Yes."

Alexis bursts into Blake's room, complaining about the lack of services at this flea-infested hotel. LOL. Blake snaps at her to go back to the States, but she stops her bitching and says she doesn't want to fight...and that she also wants to believe Steven is still alive. She asks Blake if he'd like to have dinner with her and reminisce about their child - but before Blake can answer, he gets a call from Carrington manor. He gives Fallon a brief update of his conversation with Cassidy and says he's flying out at 6:00am to speak with the injured foreman. He then asks if he can speak to Krystle, but Fallon sullenly tells him that she's at a rendezvous with Mark at the La Mirage. Alexis perks up at Blake's obvious irritation...and when he ends the call, she offers to order some room service, then stares at him hopefully. He glares back at her and sarcastically retorts, "So we can comfort each other?" and Alexis breathily replies, "Yesss." LOL. Blake rails at her for wanting to destroy his marriage and predicts she'll gleefully run to Krystle at her first opportunity and claim that they hit the sheets. Alexis insists she has no desire to doink him, then declares that he'll soon thank her for bringing Mark into their lives. Blake's all, "Wuh? What do you mean by that?" but she suddenly acts all cagey and says she doesn't want to spoil the ending for him. She stares at him smugly and says, "What you thought you had, you never really had at all!" then whirls on her heel and exits the room. LOL.
