Recap: Krystle asks Joseph to tell the chauffeur to bring the car around so she can head over to the hospital and pick up Blake, who's been at Jeff's bedside all night. She remarks to Joseph how pensively worried she is about the old goat not getting any sleep. Over in Penthouse Luxurious, Alexis calls her chauffeur to tell him to get the car ready so that she can head over to the hospital...but Adam overhears her and suggests she spend her time preparing for the handing Blake his ass meeting at Denver-Carrington, now that she officially has controlling interest in his company. Alexis says she doesn't want to do that today 'cause she's too stressed out about The Jeff Situation. She's worried that the doctors will discover he was poisoned and call the police, and that they'll figure out it was the blue paint that was poisoning him. Adam says he's going to arrange for Jeff's office to be swiftly remodeled, then urges Alexis to stay far away from the hospital. He's worried that in her current freaked out state, she may tip someone off into thinking she has information about Jeff's illness. He offers to go to the hospital in her place and see if anyone's been able to learn what's ailing Jeff, and Alexis seems fine with that. Jeff's eyes flutter open and he sees Blake sitting by his bedside. He glances around, looking confused and sweaty, and is all, "Wuz happening?" Blake tells him he collapsed on the tennis court...and Jeff says he remembers falling, then angrily asks Blake why he didn't just take him home. Blake says it's clear that there's something really wrong with him, then explains that the doctors are in the process of figuring out why he's been behaving so squirrelly lately, and proudly says he ordered the doctors to keep the lab open all night so that the technicians could work around the clock and determine the root cause of his illness. Jeff mutters that he's confused by what he's been dreaming and what's actually reality, then asks Blake if he recently signed some kind of document. Blake confirms that he did sign a 'consent to divorce' form for Fallon, since she no longer wants to be legally wed to someone who tried to choke the life out of her. He adds, "I'm very sad about that", but Jeff doesn't buy his sympathy and growls, "Soon we'll be rid of each other - and the rest of you damn Carringtons!" just as Krystle enters the room. A dismayed Blake shakes his head sadly at Jeff, then looks over at Krystle and shakes his head sadly at her. As soon as Blake and Krystle return to Carrington manor, Joseph informs Blake that Fallon is on the phone from Haiti. Blake hurries over to the study to take the call and sadly reports to his daughter, "There's no reaching Jeff" and explains that the doctors still have no idea what's been making him act so weird. Adam is in Jeff's office, directing a contractor to remove the wall panels, then replaster and repaint the walls. Preferably something other than grisly blue. The contractor asks him if he wants to salvage the panels since they're so expensive, but Adam brusquely orders him to cut them up and burn them...'cause that's not odd or suspicious at all. Gerald (the lawyer Adam tried to fire) is standing in the doorway and scrunching his face with puzzlement as he eavesdrops on the conversation. Adam explains to Gerald that Alexis is taking over Jeff's office and wants the room redecorated. Gerald says it's pretty excessive to redecorate an office three times in a period of six months, and Adam snaps back that he shouldn't "make a case" against something his employer wants done. He bitchily stalks off, and Gerald worriedly stares after him. Blake is in the nursery, cuddling Danny, when Joseph enters and points out that there are now two infants under the Carrington roof - yet only one nursemaid is employed! Egads! He asks Blake if he can start interviewing nannies, mostly 'cause he wants to free up Kirby so that she can work on having a meaningful career. He reminds Blake that he paid good money for her to attend the Sorbonne...and would like her to do something more challenging than change Baby Blake's diapers. Krystle shows Blake a letter she just received from Sammy Jo, and notes that they now have her address in New York...and Blake nods approvingly and says they'll need that for the adoption papers. Krystle scans the letter and gives Blake an overview: Sammy Jo is having fun becoming a model, and knows that she'd be the world's shittiest mother, which is why she's happily signing Danny over to the two of them. Blake assures Krystle that nothing will go wrong with the adoption, barring some unforeseen incident...like the child's father unexpectedly returning from the dead/Singapore. And speaking of Singapore.. A facially mummified Steven (who's still calling himself Ben Reynolds) is staring at himself in the mirror when the doctor enters his room. Steven complains about all the waiting he's had to do before he can see his new face, so the doctor peeks inside the eye holes of his bandage and says it looks like the swelling has gone down. He announces that he'll de-mummify him first thing tomorrow morning. He changes the topic and tells Steven he's puzzled why his belt buckle had a big C on it - when his last name is supposedly Reynolds, and Steven cagily says he borrowed the belt from a friend - Charlie Cunningham - the day before the explosion. He then gets back into bed and bitchily asks if that explanation is good enough for him, and the doctor must decide he really doesn't give a crap about this after all, 'cause he just kind of shrugs and says, "I'll see you tomorrow." Steven stares after him through his eye holes, looking worriedly contemplative. The next morning, Fallon runs into Mark at the hotel restaurant. He tells her he managed to get the room next to hers, then gabbles about how he got so lonely last night that he went down to the bar and threw back a few drinks with a strange woman. He then babbles about how people are always judging him by his looks, blah blah...and when he notices the spaced out expression on Fallon's face [which, incidentally, was the same one I had on my face while watching this scene], he goes, "Boy. I must really have bored you just now." LOL. He invites her to go sightseeing with him, but she says she has an appointment with her lawyer and doesn't know how long it will take. She adds that she's in Haiti to get a quickie divorce, not sightsee, and wants to wrap up her business and get home to her son asap. Adam stops by the hospital visit Jeff. He asks him how it's going, and Jeff grumbles about how the nurses keep taking blood samples. He scrunches his face in confusion and asks Adam if he recently signed any papers in his office, and Adam stares back at him and goes, "Papers..?" so Jeff mumbles that he's all mixed up and is probably just remembering signing Fallon's divorce papers. He tells Adam that Blake ordered that the lab be kept open all night, and Adam looks alarmed. Adam rushes over to the lab to speak with the head technician, who tells him they haven't been able to pinpoint the source of Jeff's squirrelliness. She adds that they aren't always able to come up with diagnoses in cases like these, and Adam looks very pleased to hear that. The doctor friend of Kate Torrence (Adam's faux grandmother) drops by Adam's office for an unexpected visit...and Adam is not pleased to see him. The doctor explains that he's on a brief layover while en route to St. Louis and just wanted to drop by and say hey. Adam snarks that he's doing fine, but the doctor studies him and says, "You're not well, boy...are you?" and adds, "Your eyes are looking too bright again." Bwahaha! He asks Adam if his bio mom and dad know about the nervous breakdown he suffered and/or the drugs he was given, but Adam clams up, says he doesn't want to talk about it, and throws the doctor out of his office. Hmm...interesting. Adam assures Alexis that The Jeff Situation is under control - and that Jeff, the doctors, and lab technicians suspect nothing nefarious. Alexis poutishly tells him that Jeff is a fine human being, not a pawn, then poutishly laments the pain he must be in right now. Adam rolls his eyes and snaps, "If he's in pain, they'll give him a pill." Alexis switches gears and starts railing about how Fallon has turned against her (hasn't she pretty much always been against her?) and that she's just like Blake. She changes the subject back to Jeff and announces that she's going to pay him a visit, and assures Adam she won't crack under pressure and reveal anything that could implicate either of them. Jeff is still looking sick and sweaty when Kirby drops by the hospital. She starts babbling about his relationship with Fallon, and how his obsession with her was so intense that it drove him to nearly choke her to death. LOL - I don't disagree, though I think Season 1-2 Fallon was far more deserving of strangulation than this nicer, chilled out version. Kirby walks over to the window and stares outside wistfully as she trash-talks Fallon, saying that she was never the kind of woman who believed in him. Unlike herself. She then starts nattering about how intimately she knows the pain of loving someone so much it hurts, then declares that she wants to be with him. She has a brief fantasy of her and Jeff in bed together, then turns around with an expectantly flushed expression on her face...but it instantly falls when she realizes that Jeff's been asleep for the last several minutes and hasn't heard a word she's said. Haha! She looks embarrassed and annoyed that she just poured her heart out to a sleeping man. Later, Adam runs into Kirby at Carrington manor and reminds her about his offer to hire her as ColbyCo's official French/English translator, then says she can't possibly be fulfilled working as a babysitter. Kirby brusquely accepts the job, and says she'll tell Fallon as soon as she returns from Haiti. She snarkishly adds, "I won't cater to her selfish Carrington tune anymore!" So there. Alexis arrives at the hospital to see Jeff, decked out in a fantastic red tailored suit and fur wrap, and two deliverymen follow her into the room and place two gigantic bouquets of flowers on a nearby table. Alexis tells a zonked looking Jeff that she still thinks of him as family, despite his divorce from Fallon, and that the differences he has with Adam will be behind them (she might want to also give Adam that memo). She wants him to be with her at the helm of ColbyCo - but first he needs to completely recover from being slowly poisoned. And to that end, she's sending him to a wonderful spa in Switzerland. Jeff smiles happily and murmurs, "Hmm...spa...Switzerland..." Alexis contorts her lips poutishly and soothingly says, "You're so weak. Now get some rest. Think of a wonderful place far, far away." Back in Singapore, the doctor and nun nurse are finally ready to de-mummify Steven's face. With the back of his head facing viewers, the doctor slowly cuts off the bandage, and then the nun nurse spends several minutes applying ointment to his newly reconstructed face. The doctor asks him if he's ready to see himself, then hands him a mirror...and Steven takes a quick look and remarks that his eyes are the same color. Well, d'yuh. He didn't get eye replacements. Though he probably would have if his eyes weren't blue like Al Corley's. He seems happy with his new mug and tells the doctor he can live with it...and the doctor and nun nurse leave the room. Steven wanders over to the bed...then slowly turns around and anticlimactically reveals his unblemished face to viewers. Alexis flounces into the kitchen in Carrington manor and orders Hilda to fetch her some cold champagne. Krystle enters the room and asks whassup, and Alexis tells her she dropped by to see the babies and is now chillin' with Hilda and drinking champagne. Krystle says she was at the hospital earlier to see Jeff, and Alexis breezily says he'll be himself again very soon. Krystle gives her a funny look and says, "You're a contrast of moods" and reminds her that last night she was practically in a state of hysteria about Jeff being hospitalized...yet now she's throwing back champagne and declaring he's going to be fine. Alexis denies being hysterical and insists she was merely concerned, but Krystle doesn't buy that and says it's clear she touched a nerve. She smugly sashays out of the kitchen as a worried Alexis stares after her. Blake has invited Gerald to his office to chat about Alexis and her deviousness. Blake tells him he's sure that Alexis was involved with Cecil's 'Logan Rhinewood' scheme, and also suspects her of somehow using Jeff's illness for her own advantage. Blake asks Gerald to spy...er, keep an eye on Alexis. He growls, "It will be all out war if she does anything to hurt Jeff" and vows if that happens, "ColbyCo will go down the drain". Fallon and Mark are on the balcony of her Haiti hotel room, staring up at the stars. She remarks that her mother was the one who inadvertently brought them together, and they banter back and forth, blah blah.. Damn, these two are boring. He asks if he can kiss her, but she says, "Don't spoil it" and suggests they go for a walk on the beach instead. Alexis is in Blake's office, smoking, when he enters. He does not look pleased to see her and snarks that he's just come from a tough meeting and isn't in the mood for her nonsense. She tells him she's here on business, then hands him a letter and announces that Jeff has turned over voting control of his/his son's Denver-Carrington shares to her. Blake quickly reads the letter and notices that it was signed yesterday when Jeff "wasn't in his right mind". He says he won't stand for this sort of shenanigan, but Alexis informs him that the Denver-Carrington shares Cecil had acquired (and bequeathed to her), along with her grandson's shares are worth more than 50% of his company. She smugly says, "This means you are now working for me." Blake looks unconcerned and angrily retorts, "I'll see you in hell before that happens!" Alexis tells him she'll be contacting the SEC to notify them of the merger between Denver-Carrington and ColbyCo - with her (and Jeff, I guess) at the helm! Her smugness, however, is short lived when Blake gets a call from Jeff's doctor to inform him that the lab technician found evidence of a neuro-toxin in Jeff's bloodstream. Alexis overhears the troubling discovery and is all, "OMG!" while Blake furrows his brows and wonders aloud how Jeff could possibly have come in contact with a poisonous chemical. And where? Alexis dramatically lifts her face and shuts her eyes...and looks dangerously close to wigging out. Thanks for reading!
