Recap: Jeff is thrashing around his bed as he's being sweatily tortured by the voices in his head. I guess the blue paint has finally driven him to complete madness. His eyes suddenly pop open, and he frantically climbs out of bed and runs out into the hall where he encounters Krystle. She asks him whassup, so he mumbles, "I had a nightmare" and stumbles back inside his room. Krystle stares after him with pensive concern, but then puts a pin in that and tip-toes into Sammy Jo's room. She asks her niece if they can talk, but Sammy Jo pretends to be asleep and doesn't stir. After a few seconds, Krystle gives up on a late night heart-to-heart and tip-toes back out...and Sammy Jo smirks to herself, bitchily murmurs, "Sweat it out", and closes her eyes. In the morning, Blake is in the nursery, staring down at Danny with a goofy smile. Krystle enters the room and smiles at the sight of goat daddy cradling his grandson. He tells her he's feeling things he didn't know he could feel, and Krystle warmly reminds him that he doesn't have to hide his feelings from her. He argues that he can't give up all of his defenses without a struggle, then pulls back from going his usual dickish route and calls her a marvel, and admits that he's put her through a shitload of emotional hell in recent weeks. He acknowledges, "Most women would have given up long ago" - which, well d'yuh, but I'm pretty sure that his money, mansion, and luxurious lifestyle is a UGE part of why Krystle continues to put up with his assholery. He admits to being obsessed about finding Steven - and that he said a lot of unfair, jealousy-related crap about her dumb locket. Krystle shrugs it off and tells him it's all in the past, and he assures her he won't forget her patience or forgiveness. She leans in to give him a smooch...and when Danny happily gurgles, Blake chuckles and says how happy and blessed he feels to have both baby grandsons under his roof. He adds that he gets the impression that Sammy Jo is a changed woman: more compassionate and grown up. Krystle makes a seriously? face then carefully says she hopes he's right, but that she generally expects the worst from her yokely side of the family. Krystle heads downstairs and enters the dining room, where Sammy Jo - who's decked out in a fantastic '80s style workout bodysuit with matching tights and headband - is loading up her breakfast plate. She snarks at the maid for not bringing out sausages and bacon - damn it! - and the maid scurries back to the kitchen. Krystle stares over at her niece in dismay, then politely says, "Good morning" and pours herself a cup of coffee. She asks Sammy Jo exactly what she meant last night when she said that she and Danny might not be staying in Denver, and Sammy Jo tells her it shouldn't come as any great shock, then snarks about how unwelcome everyone at Carrington manor made her feel after her quickie wedding to Steven. She shoots Krystle the stink-eye and snidely adds, "Including you, Aunt Krystle." Krystle tells her that things have changed, and that she'd like them to have a start fresh. Sammy Jo says she had no intention of ever returning to Denver, but Steven's death changed all that. She then bitchily asks Krystle if there are any nagging questions she wants to ask, such as: "Is Danny really Steven's baby?" and Krystle pretends as though the thought never even crossed her mind - though I'm pretty sure the entire household is silently wondering 'bout that - and urges her niece to get rid of the chip on her shoulder and think about how Steven's death has affected everyone. She adds that the family wants to do the right thing by fully accepting her and Danny into the Carrington fold. Sammy Jo says she totally gets that she (Krystle) would love to have the baby around 'cause of the one she lost, and Krystle admits that having her and Danny at the mansion would mean a lot to her. Sammy Jo slyly says it would probably be worth a lot of cash to her and Blake to get her and Danny to stay on at Carrington manor, then makes it clear that if they don't bribe her with an adequate amount of dough, she may give Danny up when she moves to New York to become a model. After dropping that bomb, she flounces out of the room, and Krystle stares after her looking anxious and troubled. A sweaty and irritable looking Jeff arrives at ColbyCo...and Alexis sees him in the lobby and calls out to him, but he doesn't appear to hear her and keeps walking. She heads up to Adam's office and asks him if he and Jeff have been at each other's throats lately, then explains that she just saw Jeff in the lobby and he looked furious. Adam assures his mother that there's nothing combative going on between him and Jeff at the moment...aside from the fact that he's slowly poisoning the guy with toxic paint. Alexis switches gears and says she's been neglecting business matters because of Steven's death, but is now going to refocus her energy on the problems at ColbyCo...and to that end, she's calling a conference with herself, Adam, and Jeff. She tells Adam she's going to want a full report on their operations, and Adam's all, "Wha-a?" and clearly doesn't like the sound of that. Alexis arrives at the La Mirage and lets herself into Mark's room. Mark is in the shower, and there's groovy '80s music playing, which Alexis turns off and then locks the door. Mark steps out of the shower, cocks his head to the side, and realizes that someone must have turned off the groovy music. He emerges from the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist and finds Alexis lounging on his couch. She says she hopes he doesn't mind that she took the liberty of turning off the radio, and Mark says he doesn't mind, then drops his towel (!) and puts on a bright red robe. Alexis tells him she came by to deliver a gift, then hands him a box with an expensive watch inside. She credits him with saving her life and sanity, then asks him if he's still planning to leave town...and he shrugs and goes, "I dunno." She says she realizes that he hoped things would work out with Krystle, but points out that La Mirage is a magnet for rich, attractive women. Mark furrows his brows at the odd remark and says, "I thought we were talking about me and you" so Alexis poutishly contorts her lips and concedes, "Yes. It's damned hard to admit that I don't want you to leave!" She says that most of the boy toys in her life haven't made her very happy, so Mark takes this as a challenge and suggestively says he's not going anywhere for the next two hours. She's like, "Hmm mmm..." and makes a beeline over to the phone to call her chauffeur and inform him that she's staying at the hotel for "lunch" and that he can pick her up in two hours. She then leaves the phone off the hook and sexily sashays across the room...and we get a loooong close-up of Mark's damp, hairy chest and Alexis' hand as she fondles his damp, hairy pecs. Krystle is in Blake's office at Denver-Carrington, informing Blake about Sammy Jo's plans to move to New York and become a model...and how she offered to leave the baby with them in exchange for cash. She wails, "She dangled Danny like bait!" and Blake shakes his head in dismay and asks Krystle what she wants to do about it. She says she doesn't want her niece to take the baby to New York or give him to a stranger to raise, and Blake pats her comfortingly and says, "It's all right because we're going to make it all right." Well that's reassuring. Back at Carrington manor, Sammy Jo enters the study to formally discuss the Danny situation with Blake and Krystle. Blake pulls out a check and tells her it's probably more than she had anticipated...and she walks over to his desk to check out the dollar amount, and we see that it's made out for 100K. Given that she told the gas attendant in the previous episode that she was expecting a million dollar windfall, I'd say it's a lot less than she was anticipating. Blake tells her there are conditions, then lectures her about how selling a child is a felony, and that he and Krystle find the idea of purchasing a baby repulsive. He says that the 100K check is hers - but so is Danny. Sammy Jo scrunches her face in confusion and petulantly says, "I don't understand one word you're saying to me" - LOL - so Blake breaks it down for her tiny brain and spells out the two options he's making available to her:
Sammy Jo is horrified, mostly by option #2, and incredulously exclaims, "Be saddled with a baby?! Full time?" She tells them that her son is "a biological mistake" and that she (unlike Steven) is alive, and no one is going to stop her from doing what she wants to do. Krystle suggests that Danny should be the most important thing in her life, and that she's afraid she's going to realize this too late. Sammy Jo gets all tantrummy and retorts, "What matters is me. I have one life and one body. And I want to use it for me!" Blake back pedals on option #1 and tells her she can leave the baby with him and Krystle - but she'll be expected to come back for him as soon as she becomes the next Christie Brinkley. He refuses, however, to buy Danny or allow her to sell him to anyone else. Sammy Jo glares at him, then snarks, "I don't need your money!" but Blake calmly argues that she clearly does, and offers to provide monthly support payments for her as Steven's widow. Sammy Jo pretends to grudgingly accept the offer and bitchily snaps, "It wouldn't look good in the newspaper if a Carrington had to go on welfare." After she storms out of the study, Krystle laments to Blake about how her idiot niece is throwing away little Danny's first years, and Blake says she's throwing away something she never wanted, then murmurs, "God help her." Fallon tries to call Mark - and when she's unable to get through by phone, she heads over to his room. Mark and Alexis, meanwhile, are lounging in his bed together, post coitus, enjoying champagne. Fallon knocks on his door and goes, "Mark? Are you in there?" A startled Alexis motions to Mark to stay quiet, but he ignores her and tells Fallon he's there, but isn't dressed. She tells him she'd like to discuss a proposal for a charity tennis tournament and wants a face-to-face meeting with him, blah blah...so he suggests they meet in her office in a little while. Fallon chuckles, says it sounds like he has a woman in there, then ambles off. I doubt she'd be chuckling like that if she knew he'd just finished nailing her mother. Ew. Adam arrives at Carrington manor with a wrapped present for Danny. Joseph tells him the baby is out with Krystle and Sammy Jo, and that his other nephew is asleep. In other words, go away. Adam asks him where Kirby is, and Joseph tells him she's in the study. (The hell, Joseph?) Adam makes a beeline over there and finds Kirby browsing the bookshelves. When she sees him, she gasps and snaps, "You're leaving!" and he cockily replies, "Am I?" and immediately gets all grab-handsy with her. She yells at him to let her go, and he responds by chasing her around the room like a psycho nut...and when he's able to grab a hold of her, he pins her against the wall. Unable to escape his grip, Kirby shoots him the stink-eye and says, "Just because I gave in to you once, does not mean it will happen again." [You didn't "give in" to him...he raped you, idiot.] Adam retorts, "Don't give me that, Kirby. You wanted me that night. As much as I wanted you" and she glares back at him and insists, "I didn't. I don't." He gives her one of his creepy, intense stares and asks, "Then why did it happen?" [Because you raped her, psycho] and Kirby nonsensically replies, "Because you're so damn much like him" (wait - wuh?) and Adam somehow guesses that she's talking about her fake ex-fiance, Jean-Paul. I have absolutely no idea what Jean-Paul has to do with the fact that Adam raped her two episodes ago. Kirby disturbingly reveals that Jean-Paul had a knack for making her tremble at his touch (OMFG), then snarks, "Will you give me up too?" (The fuck is going on here?) Adam insists he wants [to rape] her [again], but Kirby firmly declares that she doesn't want him, then orders him to leave her alone - otherwise she'll call the security guard. Adam chuckles and leans in for another grope, mockingly asks, "You mean the security guard who works for my father?" then abruptly stalks out of the room. Alexis arrives at her penthouse and finds Gerald, one of ColbyCo's lawyers, waiting for her. He hands her a box of flowers, and when she opens them and sees that they're white roses, she exclaims, "How virginal!" LOL. She fixes him a drink, then says that ever since Cecil died, she's been way too out-of-touch with all the stuff going on at ColbyCo...and as a result, she wants a rundown on every deal currently in negotiation. Gerald asks her why she'd want to bore her pretty little head with business matters when she has so many good people working for her - so she invokes the Ahmed deal that went south and nearly got him canned, and he remarks that in the Middle East, a woman's place is in the harem. That's...a bizarre thing to say to your female, American boss - especially a ball-buster like Alexis. She haughtily reminds him that she saved his job, and he sheepishly agrees to give her a rundown on everything that's currently in the works at ColbyCo. He then frowns and expresses concern about Adam 'cause of what an impetuous prick he can be, and urges her to treat him with "a firm hand". Joseph admonishes Kirby for interacting with Adam - even though he's the dumbass who directed Adam to the study so he could sexually harass her for the umpteenth time. Kirby starts babbling about how she thought she was an equal to Fallon and Steven when they were kids, but now realizes that in the hierarchy of Carrington manor, she's a second class citizen. This irks Joseph, who insists that he has the full respect of his employers, but Kirby's just like, "Great real, Papá" and tells him she had a taste of the "upstairs life" in Paris, and has come to realize that she has something that men want...so she's now determined to get everything she's due: respectability, and being regarded as "the upstairs girl you marry". Jeff is at the La Mirage, looking sweaty and discombobulated. He runs into Fallon and just stares at her like a mental patient while his vision blurs. She stares back at him in bewilderment and asks him if he's drunk - and Jeff suddenly hears Fallon's voice in his head, pleading with him not to strangle her. Get to a hospital, like pronto, Jeff. Alexis arrives at Denver-Carrington to conspire with Blake about taking Danny away from Sammy Jo. Blake tells her it's already been taken care of, then informs her that Sammy Jo is moving to New York to be a model - but she's leaving her baby to be brought up by him and Krystle. Alexis is all, "Wha-at?! How dare you turn over my flesh and blood to an ex-stenographer." Bwahahaha! Blake snaps back that Krystle is his wife, then barks, "And don't forget it!" Alexis poutishly asks him where she comes in - for instance, is she going to need permission every time she wants to visit Danny? and Blake's like, "Of course not." She says she's worried that Krystle will get all uppity and think the baby belongs to her, and Blake basically says it's payback for when she cost Krystle the life of her baby. Alexis tells Sammy Jo she heard about her plan to dump the baby with Blake and Krystle, then asks her if she's signed any papers. Sammy Jo says she hasn't, and Alexis looks contemplative and murmurs, "Very good." She says she would like the baby to be in her custody - and, to that end, she will better Blake's offer. Sammy Jo accuses her of just wanting to keep the tot away from Krystle, then suddenly looks weary and says, "I really wish I had time to jerk you around, Alexis. I'd love to let you throw money at me trying to outbid Mr. Carrington for Danny." As Alexis shoots her the stink-eye and seethes, Sammy Jo adds, "I just want to see you eat your rotten heart out over my baby. Start eating." She declares that Danny will stay right where he is, then stalks out of the room. Sammy Jo heads up to the nursery to hug her baby goodbye. Fallon enters the room and tells her she's lucky her baby's too young to know what a horrible, cunty person his mother is, and Sammy Jo snarks back that at least she knows she's a selfish opportunist - unlike her (Fallon), who refuses to admit what or who she is. Ouch. Sammy Jo heads back downstairs to say goodbye to Krystle before she begins her cross country drive to New York. I wonder why she doesn't just fly there. Krystle tells her that if things don't work out with modelling, she's welcome to come back anytime. She urges her niece to keep in touch, and let them know if she needs anything. Sammy Jo, who's suddenly very contrite, sadly declares that when she returned to Denver with Danny, it was to give them all payback. She says she's gotten a lot of mileage out of her baby...and Krystle correctly assumes it probably didn't end up being as much fun as she thought it would be. Sammy Jo nods sadly and tells Krystle that she'd like her and Blake to formally adopt Danny. Krystle's all, "Wha-a?" and eyes her niece suspiciously, so Sammy Jo assures her that she won't ever want him back, 'cause she's just not the mothering kind. She asks Krystle to be the mother she can never be, and Krystle mulls that over and asks her if she's absolutely, undeniably, positively sure about this...and Sammy Jo insists she is. A few hours later, Blake returns to Carrington manor to discuss the adoption issue with Krystle. He says he's spoken with his lawyers, and they've warned him that the adoption will be a lengthy process, and that it will involve social workers, and them proving they'll be fit parents. Krystle pensively reminds Blake that they're not actually married at the moment, and she's worried what the court will think 'bout that. Blake thinks they'll be understanding about her fake Mexican divorce, and promises that as soon as she's officially divorced from Mark, they'll run over to city hall and seal the deal. Blake then abruptly switches gears and tells her he feels totally at peace now that he's called off the search for Steven, and that he's going to focus all of his energy toward showering Danny with the love he repeatedly refused to give his own son. Jerkwad. We're abruptly transported to a hospital in Singapore, where we see a man whose head is entirely covered with bandages. He's being tended to by a doctor and a group of nun nurses. He suddenly starts moaning incoherently, and the doctor stares down at him and tells one of the nun nurses it looks like he's finally coming around. The doctor recaps to the nun nurse that the man was found in the Java Sea, clinging to a piece of wreckage...and, unfortunately, he suffered extensive injuries to his face. He asks the mummified man if he can tell him his name, or where he's from...but he just continues to moan incoherently. The doctor tells the nun nurse that the man is on his way back to the real world, and that eventually everyone will figure out he's Recast Steven. Back at the mansion, Krystle and Blake are playing with Danny and grinning happily at each other. Krystle cradles the infant and says she's sooo happy he's going to be theirs, and that no one will be able to take him away from them. Like, ever. Blake grins back at her and nods...and that's where the episode abruptly ends. Weird. Thanks for reading! If you are enjoying TVofYore's recaps, consider thanking me by buying me a "coffee"!
