"No book deal for you!"

"The Trial, Part 1"
Original airdate: 3/19/1986

Episode summary: Ben contests his father's will in a dramatic court proceeding. Alexis breaks the news to Caress that her trashy tell all book will never be published. Jackie learns that Dominique has been lying to her about the identity of her bio dad.
Recap: A negligee-clad Alexis is lounging in her penthouse, reading the day's paper when she spots an article stating that Blake and Ben are about to duke it out in court over Tom Carrington's estate.

Caress arranges (over the phone) to meet with her publisher - just as Alexis enters the room and says she's assuming they'll head over to the courthouse together to witness Ben's/Blake's trial. Caress shiftily says she has important business to take care of, and Alexis says it's a shame that the Denver press won't get to see the cute Morell sisters out on the town together...and says this as if a court proceeding about an inheritance dispute is the social event of the season.

Krystle, Steven, and Amanda arrive at the courthouse and ignore the reporters swarming around them, peppering them with questions about the imminent trial. Inside the building, Steven is served with a subpoena...and when he tells Ben he knows absolutely nothing about Tom Carrington's will, Ben non-answers by correctly assuming that Blake avoided this morning's press pack by slipping in through the back entrance of the courthouse.

Steven tells Blake and his female attorney (Mrs. Davis) he was just subpoenaed by Ben's lawyer, and Mrs. Davis tells him not to worry and that it's probably just an old trick to throw her off-stride. Blake, meanwhile, tells Adam they'll need to set aside their differences to focus on this court battle, which could potentially affect Denver Carrington. Adam says he sees the case as open and shut, given that Tom signed his last will and testament in front of three witnesses, and that he can't wait to give Ben the what for while cross-examining him.

Elsewhere in the courthouse, a distressed Jackie tells Dominique she sent away for her birth certificate, which indicates the sperm donor in her conception as father unknown. She admonishes her mother for lying to her about her non-existent race car driver father, then tearfully races off.

While on the witness stand, Dominique's testimony is founded on the ridiculous layers of hearsay that her mother told her that Tom told her that he blamed Ben for the death of Ellen Carrington...and haughtily adds that she has no reason to doubt her mother's account 'cause she was the most virtuous, honest woman who ever walked the earth. Ben's lawyer (Crenshaw) asks her when she first met her father...and after some bitchy back and forth about why that detail is important, Dominique is forced to admit that she met Tom Carrington on the day he died, and on that day was named as one of three beneficiaries of his multi-million dollar estate - none of whom included Tom's non-illegitimate son, Ben.

"You do realize that your testimony is triple hearsay, right?"

"Say what?"

Dex arrives at the penthouse to pick up some papers from Alexis...and as her manservant scuttles upstairs to fetch them, Dex stares wistfully at a framed photo of Alexis, has a flashback of when they first hooked up, and mutters, "My God...Alexis."

As Ben is questioned by Crenshaw on the witness stand, he tells the court about how he's been estranged from his family for decades and hadn't met his half-sister Dominique until now. He insists that he was not the one who killed his mother and instead blames Blake, who shouts, "That's a lie!" and is promptly warned by the judge to keep quiet. Crenshaw refers to Dominique's testimony as "triple hearsay" (hee!), and would therefore like to hear an account of the fateful day Ellen Carrington died by someone who was actually in her vicinity. Ben explains that on the day in question, his father Tom was in New Orleans on business and had instructed his sons to not leave their wheelchair bound mother alone. Naturally, there was an emergency in the oil field that had to be urgently addressed, so he raced off to help - while Blake apparently headed into town, got drunk, and seduced a young woman at the very time the Carrington house somehow burst into flames. Ben says he lied to Tom to protect his brother, to which Blake screams, "You caused her death! Admit it, Ben!" and is admonished by the judge that he has no problem tossing him out of the courtroom if he can't keep his yap shut.

While cross-examining Ben, Adam asks him why he waited so long to tell "the truth", and Ben sourly retorts, "Because my father waited so long to die." He explains that he told his father it was Blake who got drunk and left their mother to die - but Tom refused to buy that nonsense 'cause of the closeness he and Blake shared. To that, Adam retorts that it's nonsensical for him to imply that Blake asserted undue influence over his father, given that the two men hadn't seen each other for years...and only reunited when Tom was on his deathbed.

Dex arrives in Logan (Colorado) and enters a seedy watering hole filled with flannel wearing laborers. He spots the deadbeat he's looking for - Hawkins, aka the foreman at Lex-Dex's pipeline construction site - and tells him he has a lot of explaining to do regarding missing equipment and a generally poorly managed jobsite. He promptly fires Hawkins and tells him to collect his work gear from the jobsite and get lost.

Over at La Mirage, Caress is meeting with her editor, who assures her her book will be an instant bestseller. Caress pours two glasses of champagne to make a celebratory toast, but the publisher declines and says he has to rush off to get her manuscript mailed to New York, but will be right back.

Alexis arrives at La Mirage and runs into Dominique, who calls the Ben/Blake court battle "a sick sideshow". She angrily accuses Alexis of orchestrating this "violation of graves" and having to listen to Crenshaw dare to suggest that her angelic mother wasn't telling the truth when she passed along a second hand assumption of what Tom Carrington thought probably caused his wife's death. Alexis snorts, "What? The truth hurts?" and Dominique gets so enraged that she has to restrain herself from lunging at Alexis and indulging in a rough-and-tumble Alexis-Krystle style catfight.
Picture

"I'm soooo down with leaping into a pond with you and slapping you silly."

Picture

"Sorry, that's more my/Krystle's thing."

A former Carrington oil field laborer (Mr. Franklin) testifies that the day Ellen Carrington died, he was on the Carrington oil field, rescuing a man (who'd had some kind of dangerous mishap) with the aid of one of Tom's sons. Crenshaw asks him to identify which son that was by dramatically pointing at him, so Mr. Franklin points at Ben, while a stunned Blake is all, "Wha-a-a-a?!" and loud tittering noises break out among the courtroom spectators.

Alexis enters the La Mirage suite where Caress is lounging and gleefully says she's come to ask for her autograph. When Caress scrunches her face confusedly, Alexis congratulates her on her "wonderful piece of fiction", then drops the bomb that as the new owner of Creighton Publishing, she holds the rights to her unauthorized piece of trash of a biography and will see to it that it never gets published. An enraged Caress growls, "I'll see you dead for this", then looks startled when she suffers a sudden bout of weakness.

Claudia testifies about what a douchewad Blake is, then cites as proof his firing of her from La Mirage without cause and his refusal to give her ownership of the oil well she inherited from Walter Lankershim. When Crenshaw wryly asks her what she did to piss Blake off, she replies that she married Adam...who, in turn, lied to her and also refused to help her get her oil well back, aka her one chance to be financially independent. Blake instructs Adam not to bother cross-examining Claudia 'cause he doesn't want to dignify her whiny accusations...and a few seconds later, the judge mercifully calls a recess.

A miffed Krystle asks Claudia how in blazes she could turn against the man who's helped her the most, and Claudia snappishly retorts that she can't defend a man who would kill his own mother.

Blake is in the courthouse bathroom when Ben enters...and is about to turn around and leave when Blake snarlingly orders him to face up to his corrupt courtroom shenanigans. He says he remembers helping Mr. Franklin rescue the man on the oil field that day and accuses Ben of paying him off to lie in court...and when Ben sneers, "That's more your MO", Steven has to restrain his father from lunging at Ben [and does this as though the old goat would have a prayer of not getting his ass kicked by his much younger and fitter brother]. Blake shoots Ben the stink-eye, then calmly exits the bathroom.
Picture

"I no longer accept you as my brother."

"It's little wonder, considering I look about 25 years younger than you."

Ben heads over to the nearest pay phone to call Alexis and ask her whaddup with her not sticking around the courthouse to give him some much needed emotional support. Alexis breezily says she's not into spectator sports, then chides him for not having more of a backbone, both on and off the witness stand. She urges him to appear stronger while under questioning if he's ordered back on the stand, barks, "Give 'em hell!", and hangs up the phone. LOL.

Steven is called to testify about his acrimonious custody battles with Blake, along with Blake's manslaughtering of Ted Dinard. As the courtroom spectators loudly titter, Steven is forced to admit that, yep, Blake was convicted of killing Ted Dinard in a court of law, and that he (Steven) was only too happy to testify against his father during the trial. A smug Crenshaw announces that the plaintiff rests...and Steven quietly apologizes to Blake for the damaging but fairly irrelevant testimony.

Blake takes the witness stand and testifies that, yes indeed, his father was in New Orleans on that fateful day, and that an oil field emergency made it necessary for him to leave his mother's side. Ben had been the one who stayed behind, but then abandoned his mother in her time of need to go into town, get loaded, and hit the sheets with some hussy. His irresponsibility, Blake insists, was the reason Tom Carrington disowned his youngest son...and Blake adds that his father's brain appeared to be in proper working order up until he died. Under cross examination, Crenshaw gets Blake to admit that he called his father Tom, and that they too were estranged for years until he conveniently became an heir to his estate. Blake insists that he had tried to locate Ben after their father expired...and Crenshaw sneers that he didn't try hard enough, then dramatically calls Alexis as his next witness.

Back at Yokel Headquarters, Hawkins gets all in Dex's face, so Dex moves towards him to shove him out of his orbit when he accidentally bumps into a hot blonde woman who introduces herself as Jennifer. As Dex ogles her, she tells him she's a construction worker who's actually under his employ...and he perks up at that and offers to buy her a beer. As the two smittenly chat at the bar, Hawkins marches over, taps Dex on the shoulder, and punches him in the face...and Jennifer looks on in fascination as the two idiots roll around the bar, overturning tables as they fake wrestle each other. Dex emerges victorious and literally throws Hawkins outside, then struts over to where Jennifer has been watching the ridiculous display of testosterone fueled idiocy. She flirtily offers to tend to Dex's black eye, but he declines and says he's going to need to stay away from beautiful women for awhile.
Picture

"Just FYI: I'm throwing the first of many punches that are about to be thrown."

Picture

"All of this superfluous bar brawling is really turning me on."

Alexis testifies that Ben Carrington was the one telling the truth about the day his mother died...and when Crenshaw asks her how she could possibly know that, she poutishly reveals that she was the innocent young maiden Blake was doinking at the same time his mother was burning to a crisp. As the courtroom spectators titter excitedly at that dramatic revelation, Alexis adds that she was engaged to "a very ardent Blake" (OMFG), and was so deeply under his spell that she agreed to keep quiet about the great lie that it was Ben who had cruelly abandoned their mother and left her to burn to death. Blake yells, "She's lying!!" - but Alexis insists that her version of events is true, and that Blake knew how to get what he wanted from her.

Adam confers with Blake and Mrs. Davis, and the three determine that Mrs. Davis should face off with Alexis in as tough a manner as possible. Mrs. Davis starts off by asking Alexis how many husbands she's had, and accuses her of being "a black widow" in reference to Cecil's death a few seconds after their wedding ceremony. She then moves on from that pointless line of questioning to ask Alexis why she found it necessary to fly all the way to Australia to fetch Ben, then gets all in Alexis' face as she asks if it was to get vengeance against Blake for rejecting her recent sexual advances. Alexis denies that and insists that Blake was with her while his mother was dying...and the weary looking judge orders a recess and says he'll deliver his verdict in a few days. The camera then pans across the courtroom to capture the smug grins of Alexis and Ben, along with the concerned scowls of the Carrington clan.

"Whatever you do, don't take a page out of my book and manslaughter your son's future lovers."

"The Subpoenas"
Original airdate: 3/12/1986

Episode summary: Dex dumps Amanda and announces that he's leaving Denver. Oscar Goldman tells Blake he's dropping the injunction to focus on Bart being outed. Ben's lawyer issues several subpoenas.
Recap: Once all of the masqueraded partygoers have departed Carrington manor, Krystle goes upstairs to check on Blake and grumble to him about how Alexis arranged Ben's reveal to create the public spectacle of two hostile brothers confronting each other. She then asks Blake why he hates Ben so much, but Blake firmly says he doesn't want to talk about it, then gets on the phone and orders Gerard to have Alfred bring the car around.

Over at La Mirage, Alexis cackles to Ben about how wigged out Blake looked while he was de-pirating himself and declares that this somehow means they won Round 1. Ben glumly expresses concern that Blake will eviscerate him in court and insists that he only wants to see justice done...and Alexis assures him he'll get the justice he seeks, as well as his inheritance. Ben suddenly gets all prickly and warns that if she does anything to sacrifice him in the interest of obtaining whatever it is she's really after, he'll be a worse enemy to her than Blake...and Alexis stares back at him in poutish bewilderment.

Dex returns to his La Mirage suite and gets an earful from Amanda about the way he abandoned her at the masquerade ball. Dex explains that he met up with an old friend to discuss the construction of the new pipeline, a job for which he plans to leave Denver asap...and Amanda perks up at that and says she'd looooove to get away with him indefinitely. Dex firmly tells her he's leaving town alone, then comes right out and says, "I don't love you" ... and Amanda whines, "You can't mean that!" and asks if he's only saying that 'cause of how much Blake disapproves of their icky hookup. Dex says that hitting the sheets with her has been a mistake, and a heartbroken Amanda wails, "Maybe I'm just a mistake in everyone's life!" and storms out of the suite.

"I'm leaving town without you because I don't love you."

"I do not accept that explanation."

Alexis catches Caress snooping in her bedroom, but then quietly exits the room and makes a loud entrance a few seconds later so Caress can remain unaware she was caught red-handed and can pretend that she was merely trying on her sister's sable coat. Alexis tells her she can keep the sable, then asks her if she's ever thought about writing a book...and Caress looks rattled by the question and says she highly doubts she has the patience to ever do a thing like that. Alexis is all, "Nonsense!" and suggests she write about her time in the Caracas prison...and if she runs out of ideas with that, she could always write about her infamous sister. Caress pleads a sudden headache and announces that she's off to bed...and on her way out of the room, Alexis tosses her the sable, then checks out the box of letters and papers she'd been snooping in a few minutes earlier.

When Blake drops by Dex's La Mirage suite looking for Amanda, Dex tells him she's not here...and that he finally got a clue and dumped the woman-child twit like yesterday's news.

Over breakfast, Alexis poutishly tells Ben that if he expects them to be partners in Operation Sue Blake From Getting Too Much of His Father's Inheritance, he probably shouldn't threaten her by vowing to be a worse enemy to her than Blake. Ben sheepishly explains that he's generally wary of people 'cause he's been double-crossed a lot - but that he woke up happy this morning 'cause together the two of them pulled off a reunion that sent Blake reeling. Alexis tells him the wheels are in motion, meaning a bunch of subpoenas are about to be delivered, and assures him that they'll succeed in "burying Blake". The two then toast to goat daddy's "funeral".

Krystle asks Blake why he hates his brother so much, but Blake clams up and says he spent years trying not to think about Ben and would prefer to not start now. He heads over to the library to make some phone calls...and a few seconds later, a glum looking Amanda saunters in to say hey. Blake asks her where she's been all night, so she explains that she was aimlessly wandering around town while contemplating the callous heave-ho she just got from Dex. She tells Blake she's miffed at him for confronting Dex about their relationship and assumes he paid Dex off to break up with her - but an aghast Blake assures her he would never do such a wretched thing [even though it's exactly the kind of thing that's up his alley]. Amanda tearfully apologizes, then whimpers that she has no idea what she's going to do without Dex in her life.

Adam is working out in the mansion gym when Steven confronts him about Bart's gay scandal that was splashed across the front page of The National Informer. Adam once again weakly denies having had anything to do with it, but Steven doesn't buy that and angrily slams his brother against the wall. Blake hears the commotion and rushes in to break up the fight and demands to know what the devil is going on with them fighting two days in a row. Adam brusquely says, "It's personal", and Steven grunts in agreement without further explanation. A fed up Blake orders them to work out their differences, preferably without them physically attacking each other, and the two pretend they're both going to act in accordance to that.

Dex stops by Alexis' office to inform her that he's leaving Denver and is no longer doinking Amanda. He calls the grisly affair with his stepdaughter a mistake and once again apologizes, then urges Alexis to not turn her back on her daughter. Alexis snaps, "I have no daughter" 'cause of how deeply the nymphet betrayed her. Dex chews on that for a few seconds before changing the subject to his final goodbye, and tells Alexis he's always and will always love her. He adds that if she ever misses him enough to want him back, she need only call him and he'll be on the first plane to rush head-first into a reconciliation. Alexis calls the offer very touching, but icily adds, "Don't wait for my call."
Picture

"I want you to know that I still love you, and would come crawling back to you in an instant."

"And I want you to know how indifferent I am to your pathetic declarations of love."

Caress is at the La Mirage meeting with her publisher, who's questioning how accurate the 'Alexis loved Cecil Colby to death' allegation is in her book. Caress insists it's most definitely true, then requests an advance for her tell all schlock. The editor offers to write her a check for $5,000, and she squeals happily and assures him she has tons of additional juicy secrets for a sequel. After she scampers out of the room, the editor opens the suite's adjoining door, through which Alexis dramatically sashays. She calls her sister treacherous, then tells the editor she's looking forward to Caress's stunned reaction when she learns that her sister is the new owner of Creighton Publishing...and that her unauthorized biography will never see the light of day.

Blake races over to ColbyCo to ask Alexis where Ben is, but she just shrugs and retorts, "How should I know?" Blake says he knows she's behind Ben's unveiling at the masquerade ball and demands to know what nefariousness she's up to now, and she snappishly obfuscates by telling him she answers to no man. A dismayed Blake tells her she's gone too far this time and calls her games filthy...to which Alexis says she learned that from him, then warns that one day soon he's going to beg her for mercy. Blake growls, "You'll have a long wait!" and storms out of her office.

Oscar Goldman accuses Blake of planting the 'Bart is gay' scandal in The National Informer in order to get the Fallmonts to drop the injunction against the pipeline - but Blake denies doing any such thing, then reminds Oscar that he too has had to endure the shock of admitting to the world that he has a gay son. Oscar wonders aloud how he can accept this, insists he loves Bart regardless, but now has to contend with a wife who's heartbroken...even though apparently a part of her always knew Bart was gay. Blake urges him to not behave like the kind of homophobic fucktard he was towards Steven for so many years...and Oscar says that in light of his family's current pickle, he no longer has the heart to squabble endlessly over a stupid pipeline and will simply take it on faith that Blake and his/Alexis' company won't do anything to overtly destroy the environment.

"Try not to be as giant a douchewad as I was for years after Steven came out of the closet."

"Yeah, can do."

Claudia is back at Carrington manor, packing up her things, when Adam enters the room and asks her whassup. She tells him she's so fuuuuuuckin' mad about him not getting her her oil well back that she's finally ending their shitty marriage and moving into a suite at the La Mirage. She then snarls at Adam to tell Blake he hasn't heard the last of her.

Jackie is on the phone, arranging to have a copy of her birth certificate mailed to her suite at the La Mirage. [It remains unclear how a twenty year old has managed in her life thus far without having had access to her own birth certificate, but OK.]

Dominique rushes over to the penthouse to ask Ben whaddup with the subpoena she just got from his lawyer, then makes it clear she'll never testify against Blake, or do anything that could hurt him. Ben just shrugs and says she'll have to answer questions honestly while under oath...but Dominique classifies that as harassment and says he can't possibly win this 'I want my inheritance' case. She asks him why he allowed himself to be persuaded by Alexis to come to Denver, given that anyone who gets involved with the woman ends up in trouble, and Ben's nonsensical response to that is he's home now...and that this time he's let Blake know he's home. Er, OK.

Amanda drops by ColbyCo to apologize to Alexis again for knocking boots with Dex, and insists she didn't mean to hurt her. Alexis stonily says she should have thought about that before getting it on with her beloved, and admonishes her for destroying her marriage and thinking that an apology could resolve the matter. She snarlingly tells Amanda she's going to have to live with the choice that caused her mother so much suffering, then screeches, "Leave me aaaaaaaaalone!" ... and a shaken Amanda scuttles out of her office.
Picture

"Oh mummy! Pleeeeeease forgive me for riding your husband's baloney pony!"

"Who is this mummy to whom you speak?"

Blake summons Adam to his office to inform him that Oscar Goldman is dropping the injunction in order to not inflict further pain upon his family. He then asks Adam if he had anything to do with the Senatorial Hopeful Admits Gay Past: College Roommate Was Lover article, and Adam chuckles and points out that the scandal brought about the desired effect of getting the injunction quickly squashed. An appalled Blake says there's no excuse for what he's done and that it was very very wrong, and Adam self-piteously retorts that he's always wrong in his eyes.

Caress is boozing in the penthouse when Ben returns. She purringly invites her ex-brother-in-law's brother to join her for a drink - and maybe a little something extra in her boudoir - and Ben's all, "Ack!", tells her he suddenly remembered he has a meeting with his lawyer, and beats a hasty retreat. Ouch.

Blake returns home and tells Krystle he was just served with a subpoena, and that Ben is suing him for a quarter of their father's estate: $125 million. Blake laments the bad press that's sure to arise from this court case, then vows to not let Ben destroy him.

Blake brings a bouquet of flowers to his mother's gravesite, and natters to her headstone about how she used to chide him and Ben to shape up. A few seconds later, Ben arrives with his own bouquet, somehow refrains from marveling at the coincidence of both of them showing up at the cemetery at exactly the same time, and accuses Blake of turning their father against him. Ben insists that their mother loved him, to which Blake incredulously asks how he can sleep at night after the way she screamed for help. Ben points out that soon he'll be vindicated in court - but Blake argues that no court is going to award $125 million to a man who killed his own mother...and Ben glares back at him as duhn duhn duhn music starts up in the background.

"Will you do me the honor of helping me screw over my brother?"

"Masquerade"
Original airdate: 3/5/1986

Episode summary: Alexis learns that Caress is writing a trashy tell all book about her. Adam publicly outs Bart Fallmont. Ben dramatically reveals himself to Blake at a masquerade ball.
Recap: Alexis repeatedly tries to telephone Caress, who apparently has her own private telephone line inside the penthouse, then gets so frustrated by the non-answering that she bursts into the guest room her sister's currently occupying to make sure she's not dead. As Caress lazily stretches beneath the silk sheets, Alexis asks her when she's planning on leaving...and Caress is like, "I'm not", and tells Alexis she owes her for the terrible thing she did to her many years ago: abandon her in a Caracas prison and then sail away with Zach Powers. Alexis argues that she half-heartedly did everything in her power to get her released, but Caress is all, "Blah blah...you left me and went off to live the high life with the man I loved." Alexis tells her she had zero romantic interest in Zach, then offers to help her pack - but Caress puts her sad face on and says she has nowhere to live, and implores her sister to give her a chance to get her life back together. Alexis mulls that over for a few seconds and tells her she can stay until the end of the week...and once Alexis leaves the room and is out of earshot, Caress pulls out a tape recorder from under her pillow and leaves an audio message for herself about what her devious sister could possibly be up to, bringing Ben Carrington to Denver.

Alexis joins Ben as he's scarfing down a huge breakfast and tells him that Step One in launching Operation Seek Revenge on Blake For the Umpteenth Time will be to slap a lawsuit against him. Ben says he can't wait to see Blake's face when he realizes his estranged brother is in town, and Alexis says that once Blake returns from Hong Kong, she'll arrange a reunion he won't soon forget...but warns Ben that it can only be the earth-shattering moment he expects it to be if he cooperates with her. Ben says the reunion better be worth him travelling all the way from Australia for, and Alexis assures him it will be.

"I take it you've been watching Dynasty."

Steven enters Adam's office, smugly reminds him he's now on the Denver Carrington board's watchdog committee, and demands an explanation for some of his recent purchase orders. Adam's all, "Fuck off, I don't have to explain anything to you" ... and once Steven slinks out of his office, he calls someone to cancel one of the purchase orders.

Alexis is doing a live TV interview about the Denver Carrington/ColbyCo wildlife sanctuary when she makes an unexpected announcement that ColbyCo is looking to raise funds to help develop recreational facilities. As Krystle watches the interview from the mansion and is all, "The fuck..??", Alexis tells viewers to that end she and Blake will be hosting a high society masquerade ball at Carrington manor next week and charging $5,000 a person.

Krystle calls Alexis to directly ask, "The fuck..??", and an amused looking Alexis tells her she must be thrilled about the upcoming ball. Krystle tells her that Blake is never going to go along with a masquerade ball he never agreed to - but Alexis insists he owes her a party on account of ColbyCo donating all of the sanctuary's land and wildlife. She then challenges Krystle to make a spectacle of herself by cancelling the ball, then hangs up and snacks on caviar.

Blake tells Krystle he's A-OK with hosting Alexis' masquerade ball at the mansion 'cause he wants Denver Carrington to be seen as being on the side of protecting the environment. He then tells her he'd like to invite Bart Fallmont and his family over for dinner tonight in an attempt to bridge the divide caused by the pipeline/injunction conundrum, and Krystle tells him she's fine with that.

Alexis gets irked at Ben when she learns that he spent the day wandering around a Carrington oil field for no good reason and thereby risking Blake getting wind of his presence in Denver. She warns Ben that he'll never see a dime of his inheritance if he deviates from her master plan...and Ben acknowledges that since she's such a smart lady, she prolly knows best. The two then drink martinis and toast to the decline of Blake's empire.

The Fallmonts (minus Clay, who's running late) arrive at Carrington manor for dinner, and - fun fact! - Bart's father is played by the same actor who played Oscar Goldman in The Bionic Woman.

Sammy Jo, who's decked out in a poofy black '80s dress, takes off her shoes and slides all the way down the bannister in a fun homage to her maiden bannister slide in Season 2 before coming face-to-face with Alexis for the first time. She runs into Clay Fallmont, a hunkily attractive blonde...and the two introduce themselves before staring appreciatively at each other's hotness. He tells her he hopes to see her again soon, then heads over to the dining room to join the rest of his family.
Picture

"I'm hot, you're hot. Let's just stand here and ogle each other."

Picture

"At this point, I'll take whatever superfluous subplots I can get."

Blake tells the Fallmonts he hopes they can resolve this tedious pipeline/injunction storyline soon [holy fuuuuck, yes please] ... and when Steven points out that the pipeline will provide much needed jobs in the area, Oscar Goldman mumbles about how rich pricks like the Carringtons always get what they want by greasing palms. He accuses Blake of trying to buy them off with this lavish dinner, then abruptly tells his family they're outa here. As the family beats a hasty retreat towards the vestibule, Adam rushes after Bart and orders him to make his father see the light about dropping the injunction or else he'll find his "closet door opening up wide". Bart snarls back that he'll play this game according to his own rules, and an amused looking Adam sneers, "Don't say you haven't been warned."

Alexis is looking for Caress in her bedroom when the phone rings...so she answers it, and is intrigued when the caller says she's Betty Kingsley, Caress's New York editor at Creighton Publishing, and needs to discuss the book she's in the process of writing. Alexis puts the call on pause for a few seconds, then alters her voice to sound like Caress. Betty tells her she needs the extra chapters she promised, particularly the one about how Alexis "loved Cecil Colby to death" ... and Alexis glares contemplatively into space and wryly tells Betty she'll get on that asap.
Picture

"I can't wait to read the chapter about how that gold digging slut married Cecil Colby five seconds before he keeled over from a fatal heart attack!"

Picture

"I'll be sure to fax it right over."

Alexis murmurs, "Book...what bloody book?" then searches the bedroom - couch cushions and all - before finding Caress's manuscript titled Sister Dearest: The True Story of Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter at the bottom of her underwear drawer. She reads a few unflattering paragraphs about herself before getting on the phone with Steven to ask him how many public shares are currently available for a company called Creighton Publishing.

Dominique and Jackie return to their La Mirage suite after a day out and see that Garrett Boydston has sent Jackie a huge flower bouquet and a lovely heart-shaped diamond bracelet. Jackie squeals happily and says she can only assume that Garrett gave her this stuff because he's so crazy about her (her being Dominique), and Dominique huffily says it'd be inappropriate for her to keep the bracelet 'cause it's much too extravagant. Jackie points out that her fallen race car driver father would want the mother of his child to be happy...and when she asks Dominique what she should do with the bracelet, Dominique just stares back at her blankly.

Amanda is canoodling in bed with Dex, wondering aloud what type of costume she should wear to the masquerade ball. Dex grumbles that he has zero desire to attend anything at her father's mansion, and Amanda smoochingly tries to change his mind.

Masquerade ball! Blake tells the Fallmonts he's surprised to see them in attendance, so Oscar Goldman sanctimoniously explains that fundraising for the wildlife sanctuary is a cause bigger than their pipeline/injunction spat. Across the room, Dominique gets alarmed when she sees Jackie chatting with Garrett...so she rushes over to pull Garrett aside and ask him whassup with him calling Jackie's school in Paris to make personal inquiries about her. Garrett admits that yeah he's been doing a little poking around to gauge how feasible it is that Jackie could be his bio daughter, but Dominique says that Jackie cherishes the memory of her non-existent race car driver father and won't allow him to destroy that fantastical version of her conception.

Alexis (dressed up as Madame De Pompadour) and Ben (adequately disguised as a fashionable pirate) arrive at the masquerade ball and amble over to where Blake and Krystle are standing. After trading barbs with Alexis, Krystle introduces herself to her pirate friend, and he growls, "Pleasure" in response and glares at Blake, who doesn't appear to recognize him...or notice how weird his overt hostility is. Alexis explains that she's reacquainting her mysterious friend with the Denver high life, then steers him away to mingle...and Blake tells Krystle that the pirate's voice was somehow familiar to him.

"Blackbeard? Is that you?"

Bart arrives at the party (sans costume) to storm over to Steven and blame him for what The National Informer just splashed across their front page: Senatorial Hopeful Admits Gay Past: College Roommate Was Lover. He accuses Steven of betraying his confidence - but Steven denies doing any such thing, and has a pretty good idea who did. He heads upstairs and finds Adam, and demands to know why he would so dickishly ruin a closeted gay man's life. When Adam weakly denies knowing what he's talking about, Steven punches him...and the two wrestle each other for several loooooong minutes and come dangerously close to shoving one another through the stair rails. Blake rushes over, pulls the two idiots apart, and orders them to stop acting like animals and join their rich partygoer friends in the ballroom.

Ben calls Dominique by name and explains that he knows who she is 'cause her fame precedes her...and then abruptly wanders off. Dominique stares after him in puzzlement and tells Blake that the strange pirate dude makes her uncomfortable. A few seconds later, Amanda arrives at the party with a reluctant looking Dex, and she tells an irked Blake she's going to give her beau a guided tour of the mansion.

Krystle finds Ben loitering in the library, and he remarks to her that one can tell how rich and therefore fiercely driven Blake is just by looking around this room. Krystle's like, "Well d'yuh, he's worked very hard for his wealth", and Ben growls that he no doubt had to be very ruthless in the process, then abruptly suggests they get back to the party...and Krystle's all 'nope, nothing weird about this guy'.

Amanda brings Dex to her bedroom, then locks the door, removes her shoes, and steers him towards the bed. Dex tells her she's out of her mind if she thinks he's going to bone her during her parents' masquerade ball, pissily reminds her he didn't want to come here in the first place, then exits the room. A few seconds later, he runs into Alexis and says he'd like to discuss their defunct marriage, but she snappishly replies she has nothing to say to him and flounces off. Dex then chats with Clay Fallmont and says he's heard what a great demolition man he is and that he could really use that skillset for the upcoming construction of the pipeline, and the two agree to get in touch about it soon.

Amanda rejoins the party and is approached by Clay to dance...and after a few minutes on the dance floor, he suggests they go somewhere else. She declines, tells him she's interested in someone else, and informs Blake that she's rushing off in search of Dex.

Emily Fallmont is shocked when she realizes that her [spoiler!] ex-lover Ben is back in Denver after all these years, and tells him she hopes he's changed for the better.

Blake interrupts the partying to thank everyone for coming and paying the exorbitant ticket price to help develop recreational facilities in the wildlife sanctuary. Alexis gives Ben the 'unveil yourself now!' signal, so Ben slowly makes his way to the front of the room and glares at his brother as he slowly removes his hat, eye-patch, and fake beard. Blake reacts by staring back at him in shock, but is able to maintain his composure long enough to wrap up his speech.

"This dramatic reveal is all I thought it could be."

"I just remembered where I know you from."

Blake asks Ben to follow him to the library so he can privately demand to know what in God's name he's doing here. Ben flippantly replies he's attending a party...and that he's back in Denver to stay, and to bury him. Blake snarlingly orders him to get out of his house and never come back - otherwise he'll wish he'd never been born. Ben casually saunters out of the library, smirks at Alexis (who's loitering nearby), and gallantly kisses her hand...and she stares back at him looking breathlessly intrigued by the unfolding drama she helped put into motion.

"Cheers to Blake's demise!"

"Ben"
Original airdate: 2/26/1986

Episode summary: Krystle stands in for Blake at the opening of the Denver Carrington/ColbyCo wildlife sanctuary. Steven continues to urge Bart Fallmont to come out of the closet. Alexis travels to the Australian Outback to convince Ben Carrington to return with her to Denver and claim his inheritance.
Recap: Alexis is on the phone, asking whoever she's talking to where Ben Carrington is hanging out these days, and learns he's been slumming it in the Australian Outback. Steven then wanders into her office to inform her that the televised ceremony launching Denver Carrington/ColbyCo's wildlife conservation program is scheduled for tomorrow, and that the press expects to jointly interview both her and Blake. Alexis grumbles about having to share the spotlight with goat daddy...but when Steven implores her to put her ego aside for the sake of the trees and wildlife, she reluctantly agrees.

Adam informs Blake he's become aware of some mystery person buying up large blocks of Denver Carrington stock, and that various stockholders have been mysteriously approached about selling their shares. Blake orders Adam to look into the matter further, then glares into space while solemnly vowing that no one will take over his company.

Steven asks Bart Fallmont if he's upset that whoever was at Chris Deegan's office party saw the two of them looking borderline cozy, and Bart says that while he really really wants to come out of the closet, he can't quite bring himself to take the plunge.

Caress drops by Blake's office to say hey, needlessly tell him she used to have the hots for him when he was married to her sister (OMFG), and to gather the more sordid details of Alexis' testimony against him during the Ted Dinard manslaughter trial. Blake tells her he considers the Season 2 trial to be ancient news, and that he's not interested in dishing about Alexis behind her back - 'cause whatever snarly things he has to say to her, he'll say them to her face. Caress says she'll take that as her cue to leave, but on her way out asks whatever happened to his long lost brother, Ben. Blake tells her they lost touch years ago...and Caress says she's not surprised, considering the terrible [but so far unexplained] thing that happened between them.

"I assumed as much."

Somewhere deep in the Australian Outback, an Aussie arrives at a beachside camp and informs his friend Carrington (as in Ben Carrington) that "somebody connected with that big bloke in shippin'...Zach Powers" has been trying to get a hold of him from the States. Ben snarls and says he's not interested in taking phone calls from anyone in the States...and when the Aussie reminds him that he has family in the States and asks if he misses them, Ben replies that, nope, he definitely does not miss his holier-than-thou brother Blake, then stares moodily into space.

Blake shows Krystle an old photo of his saintly mother, then tells her he saw Alexis' sister earlier, which brought back bad memories of his brother Ben. Krystle asks whassup with that whole estrangement, but Blake clams up and says he doesn't want to talk about it - other than to irritably insist that he couldn't give the tiniest of rat's asses if his shitbag of a brother lives or dies.

Alexis tells Steven she's jetting off to the Australian Outback on personal business to locate a stubborn man who refuses to come to the phone or call her back...and Steven's all, "Yeah, whatever. Godspeed."

Amanda tells Blake she plans to continue seeing Dex, and Blake scrunches his face disapprovingly and says he thinks she's making a terrible mistake hooking up with her former stepfather - and not just 'cause of the stepfather thing [even though that's plenty gross on its own], but also 'cause he's much too old and sophisticated for her...but then dials back his lecturing and chalks up her shitty decision-making abilities to a lack of proper parenting. Amanda poutishly reminds Blake that she's old enough to face the consequences of her life decisions, however icktastic they might be.

Dex returns to La Mirage and finds his suite filled with colorful balloons that Amanda had delivered in order to celebrate her official divorced status, ninety days from now. When she begins to unbutton his shirt, he wonders aloud if Blake is right about him being too old for her...and Amanda coquettishly says she prefers older men, wanks him about how ruggedly attractive he is, and leans in for a smooch.

Steven and Bart Fallmont are debating the boring pipeline/injunction conundrum, and the conversation gets fiery - until Steven opens one of his desk drawers, notices a photo of Luke, and abruptly goes silent. When Bart's all 'whassup with you sadly staring at that photo?', Steven explains that Luke was his lover before he was fatally shot during the Moldavian Massacre, then lays it on thick to Bart about how their non-hetero love was nothing to be ashamed about. Bart says he's come to a decision, then tells Steven he really digs him before pressing himself against him in an awkward hug.

Sammy Jo drops by Denver Carrington to give Blake the registration papers for Krystle's new stallion, then tearfully apologizes for her role in the whole Rita/doppelgänger storyline. She says she's planning on returning to New York so she can "get lost in a big crowd" and not cause the Carringtons anymore damage - but Blake urges her to rethink running away from the people who love her the most, and says he's confident she's capable of changing her shitty ways.
Picture

"I now feel bad about recruiting Krystle's evil twin to wreak havoc in your lives."

Picture

"In that case, all is immediately forgiven."

Jackie asks Dominique to share details about her mythical race car driver father that go beyond the tall tales she's already been told, but Dominique says she doesn't have time right now 'cause she has important business to attend to. Plus, she doubts Dynasty viewers could possibly give a rat's ass about her parentage [sorry - that was me, projecting].

Blake summons Dex to his office...and when Dex bitchily assumes he's here to be questioned about his doinking of Amanda, Blake tells him he only wants to talk business, specifically some feedback he needs for his pipeline construction proposal. Blake then growlingly puts Dex "on notice" and warns that if he finds even one mistake in the contract, he'll find a way to break it. A few seconds later, Adam rushes into the office to inform Blake that there's a nebulous crisis with "the Chinese" and hands him a cablegram...and Blake agrees that, yep, it's definitely serious enough to warrant him flying to Asia asap to promptly deal with the matter. He then tells Adam he just learned that whoever is buying up Denver Carrington stock is buying less than 4% at a time to cleverly avoid registering the purchase with the SEC, and Adam says he's been asking around about recent stock purchases and found that one name kept coming up: ColbyCo. Blake mulls that over and says it makes sense that Alexis is trying to gain control of his company, but that she's in for a surprise and will soon wish she'd never heard the name Carrington.

As Blake packs for his trip to China, he asks Krystle to stand in for him during tomorrow's ceremony to open the new Denver Carrington/ColbyCo wildlife sanctuary...then tells her about the awkward pass that Alexis made at him during the end of the previous episode. When Krystle's all, "She did wha-at?!", Blake grins and tells her that that's what happens when a woman is married to a devilishly handsome silver fox.

As the ceremony to open the Denver Carrington/ColbyCo wildlife sanctuary gets underway in a wooded area, Krystle tells the press and various onlookers how much the new sanctuary means to Blake...and that he couldn't be here 'cause he was unexpectedly called away on business. When Alexis gets up to the mic, she slams Blake (in absentia) for not finding the time to attend this momentous event, prompting Krystle to glare hatefully in her direction.

Garrett Boydston summons Dominique to the La Mirage bar to ask her once again if Jackie is his bio daughter, and reminds her that Jackie is twenty, aka around the time they last hit the sheets together. Dominique responds by twitching nervously, and Garrett warns that he won't give up on his boring quest for the truth.

After the photo op portion of the new wildlife sanctuary ceremony, Alexis runs into Dex, who warns her that he has no intention of allowing her or Blake to elbow him out of this deal, and Alexis hisses, "Oh, we'll see about that" before sauntering off. Amanda, who witnessed the testy exchange, ambles over to Dex and warns that her mother can be like a piranha if she chooses, but he brusquely assures her he's a big boy who can take care of himself.

A nosy reporter asks Krystle if she'd like to comment on some inappropriate insinuations that an acquaintance just made about how she and Blake sleep in separate bedrooms and that Blake would have long divorced her if it weren't for Kristina...and instead of telling the reporter where she can shove her non-wildlife-sanctuary-related questions, Krystle smilingly replies her marriage has never been better.
Picture

"I'd like to ask you some wildly inappropriate questions that have nothing to do with this wildlife sanctuary."

Picture

"Wonderful! I'd be more than happy to politely answer them."

Krystle and Alexis are wandering the wooded area by themselves - for no other reason than to raise a red flag, Dynasty style catfight alert. Krystle calls Alexis out on her "would-be seduction" of Blake and incredulously asks how she could possibly think Blake would be remotely interested in her again. Alexis chuckles and says that perhaps she just needs a little more time, and Krystle's all 'the hell you do!' and grabs at her before their stunt doubles quickly step in and go slip-sliding down a very long, muddy ravine. The two end up in a small pool of mud from which an enraged Alexis shrieks, "You stupid bitch! Look what you did to my outfit!" and Krystle snidely retorts, "You've never looked better!" and warns that Blake is hers and that Alexis is never going to have him. Alexis screechingly denies wanting the old goat, declines from initiating an airtime-wasting mud-flinging melee that surely would have made it into the script a few seasons ago, and scrambles to her feet and races off.

That evening, Bart Fallmont drops by Steven's office to natter about how he was once engaged to a woman - but called it off when he went bumming around Europe with a male roommate...with whom he was soon sharing a sleeping bag, hmm mmm. He laments lying to everyone about his non-hetereo preferences and tells Steven [that despite his general aura of dullard] he's the first person he's felt close to in a long time.

Adam calls his investigator and is gleeful when he learns that Bart and his ex-roommate were gay lovers while in Europe...and it remains unclear how something like that could possibly have been substantiated.

Alexis arrives in the land of kangaroos and koala bears and is transported by rustic jeep to Ben Carrington's campsite. She wanders over to where her former brother-in-law is cleaning himself up in an outdoor shower...and hands him a towel, takes off her sunglasses so he can recognize her, then flirtily checks out his naked lower extremities and jokes about how beautifully he's filled out. A grinning Ben says he heard that she and Blake got divorced, then asks what in heaven's name she's doing here...so she tells him she's on a mission to destroy Blake and wants to help him get his share of their father's estate: $125 million. When Ben says he's not interested in leaving the Outback, Alexis implores him to not let Blake get away with cutting him out of their father's will...and Ben chews on that for a few seconds before staring contemplatively into space.
Picture

"What in blazes are you doin' down undah?"

Picture

"Enjoying the view down undah."

Later, the two are enjoying an expensive dinner that Alexis arranged to have set up on the beach. She assures Ben there's no catch, and that he merely has to show up in Denver to claim his share of Tom Carrington's estate, which was divided up between herself, Dominique, and Blake. When Ben's like, "Who the hell is Dominique?", Alexis explains that she's Tom's illegitimate bio daughter [the Dynasty writers have no idea what to do with anymore]. Ben mulls over the prospect of travelling around the globe to get what's rightfully his, then tells Alexis he's going to need to sleep on it.

In the next scene, Alexis and Ben are in her lavish Denver penthouse, toasting their martinis to their shared goal of destroying Blake. A few seconds later, Caress ambles into the room and gushes about how much she adores get togethers, says hey to Ben, and informs Alexis that she's decided to move (uninvited) into the penthouse and stay while. Alexis is all, "Wuh?", swiftly hustles Ben off to the guest suite, then glares at her sister and demands that she get out of her home asap - but Caress refuses to leave and accuses her of abandoning her in the Caracas prison for five years. After some tedious bickering back and forth about which of them has been more of a wretched sister, Alexis reminds Caress that ever since they were children, she has always won their battles, and Caress responds by glaring back at her with her cold dead eyes.

A Carrington manor womanservant gets caught up on current events

"The Dismissal"
Original airdate: 2/19/1986

Episode summary: Amanda deals with the fallout of her romp with Dex. Alexis makes a pass at Blake...and when he rebuffs her, she vows to make his life a misery. Sammy Jo tries to get back into Krystle's good graces.
Recap: Alexis wakes up alone in her penthouse bed, then gets up and restlessly wanders around the room. She picks up a framed glam photo of Amanda and glares at the 'To my beautiful mother' caption that Amanda (for some weird reason) scrawled on the photo.

Alexis heads over to Carrington manor to tell Blake that since Amanda is living under his roof and (presumably) looking to him for moral guidance, he's ultimately responsible for her hitting the sheets with her husband. Blake's like, "Uh, that's kind of a leap" and reminds her that she kept Amanda's existence hidden from him until she was a fully grown woman - but then agrees to handle their daughter's icky dalliance in his own way and in his own time.

Krystle wanks Blake about how Amanda needs the strength and support of her loving father, not least 'cause she had such a terrible upbringing...then adds that the tart will have both of them to lean on. Blake thanks her for being the perfect wife and partner and gives her a grateful hug.

Amanda drops by ColbyCo to sheepishly tell Alexis she never meant to hurt her when she jumped into bed with her husband. A glowering Alexis tells her she has nothing to say to her and that right now she loathes both her and Dex...and Amanda kind of perks up at that last thing and says that if she truly loathes Dex, she should tell him it's over so that he can move on with his hot young stepdaughter. Alexis lets out a bitter chuckle and tells her that Dex loves real women, not pale imitations...and when Amanda snaps back, "Is that why he left you?", Alexis reminds her that it was she who divorced him and dismissively says that the two of them deserve each other. Amanda sarcastically retorts, "Thanks, Mummy", and Alexis tells her to not call her that anymore 'cause she's no longer recognizing her as her daughter.

"That's She Who Has Disowned Her Tramp of a Daughter to you."

Over at Carrington manor, a womanservant is gleefully reading The National Informer with the headline I Was His Love Slave splashed across the front page above side-by-side photos of Krystle and George Hamilton. When she hears Blake shuffling towards the room, she hastily puts the paper onto the food table and pours him a cup of coffee...but he quickly spots the paper, glances at the headline, and asks the maid if the paper belongs to her. She admits it does - but that in her defense it's only her second day on the job...and Blake tells her that if she's interested in being employed for a third day, she'd be wise to not bring this kind of trash into the mansion ever again. Krystle enters the room a few second later, insists on looking at the paper that Blake's trying to conceal, then sighs at the raunchy headline and tells Blake not to worry about protecting her from it 'cause she was bound to stumble across it at some point. She then says what matters most is that they're home together and safe - but Blake vows to hunt George Hamilton and Rita down and make them pay for what they've done.

Dex is boozing it up at the La Mirage bar when Amanda wanders over to remark that the last time she saw him, he was rushing off to the airport to beg Alexis for her forgiveness. Dex informs her that Alexis flew to St. Thomas to get a quickie divorce from him, then moans that his now ex-wife means everyyyyyyything to him. He tells Amanda he didn't mean to hurt her and reminds her she has a spouse of her own, and she responds by irritably flouncing off.

Alexis is buffing her nails in her office when Dex drops by to express his joy and relief that she finally sent King Galen packing. Alexis admits that he was right about him all along and that she made a huge mistake trusting the royal scoundrel...and Dex perks up at that and points out that everyone makes mistakes, then coos about how much he misses her. Alexis coldly says that what he's missed is the point of this meeting, which is a discussion about her buying out his shares of the Lex-Dex Corporation. A crestfallen Dex tells her he refuses to be bought out and stubbornly reminds her that it's his company, so Alexis shrugs unconcernedly and says, in that case, she'll simply have to "go to war" with him as a businesswoman, then orders him to tuck his tail between his legs and run along.

Amanda is primping in her bedroom when Prince Michael bursts in to gush about how lucky he is to be married to such a stunning angel, then informs her that his father is en route to Lisbon to live in exile and has invited him to come along. He tells Amanda he declined the invitation in favor of staying where he belongs and where he'll hopefully grow into the man Blake believes he can become: a low-ranking member of the Carrington clan, head honcho at La Mirage, and his gorgeous wife's husband and lover. When he kisses her cheek and smarmily purrs, "Nothing stands between us now", Amanda pulls away, tells him she's getting a divorce, then petulantly blurts out, "I love Dex!" Prince Michael stares at her incredulously and recalls all the times he found her and Dex together during which she had swiftly denied that anything resembling hanky panky was going on...then ruefully says he'd been right all along. Amanda sheepishly apologizes for her infidelity and says she never meant to humiliate him, and Prince Michael mutters, "First my father, now you" before shuffling dejectedly out of the room.
Picture

" I'm determined to jump into the sack with Dex every chance I get."

Picture

"Thanks a lot for the cuckolding."

Prince Michael rushes over to Dex's La Mirage suite and takes a swing at his wife's lover, but Dex easily blocks the blow and warns that he's physically capable of breaking him in two. Prince Michael whimpers, "You already have", and Dex is all, "Sorry about balling your wife, dude", and a deflated Prince Michael slinks out of the suite.

At Delta Rho, Sammy Jo presents Krystle with the gift of a white stallion that's worth $1 million and says it's the least she can do to replace all the money that Rita and George Hamilton stole from the Carrington household. Krystle's all, "Awww..", but says what she really wants is for her to learn from all the terrible shit she's pulled and go about changing her life. Sammy Jo mulls that over and earnestly says she wants to make her proud, and Krystle grins back at her and gives her a happy hug.

Blake summons Amanda to Denver Carrington to discuss a business proposal: accompany him to Hawaii to view some Denver-Carrington construction sites. Sounds riveting. Amanda mulls that over for a few seconds, declines the invitation, and says it sounds like an idea he suddenly hatched in order to get her far away from Dex. When Blake's like, "Well duh", Amanda moans about how special Dex is to her...and Blake warns that he's a sleazy womanizer who's merely using her to help forget about Alexis, who he well knows won't allow herself to be easily forgotten.

Steven and Adam seat themselves in an outdoor café near the courthouse...and [within hearing range of Bart Fallmont], Adam tells Steven he's looking to knock Bart off his pedestal by investigating any still-in-the-closet skeletons. He then cackles about the spark flying body language between him (Steven) and Bart at Chris Deegan's office party and how Bart "couldn't keep his hand off you", and Steven calls that "such a damned lie!" and says he'd prefer to battle with Bart in an honest fashion through the court system and not stoop to digging into the irrelevance of the man's sexual orientation. Adam rolls his eyes and says he has work to do...and as Steven gets up and ambles in the opposite direction past Bart's table, Bart stops him and says he couldn't help but overhear his conversation and appreciates him not joining Adam's dirty quest. Steven urges him to come clean and out of the closet and points out that he can't be blackmailed if his secret's out in the open, but Bart worries about losing everything he's worked for, and thanks Steven for keeping mum about his gayness.
Picture

"Come join me outside of the closet."

Picture

"Right, 'cause it's been so fun for you to be openly gay on Dynasty."

That evening, Dex summons Amanda to his La Mirage suite and tells her he now thinks he was a fool to send her away, and declares his marriage to Alexis dunzo. Amanda poutishly asks what would happen if Alexis were to suddenly change her mind, but Dex tells her to forget about her ma (as well as the ickiness of him having doinked them both), then caresses her face and leans in for a kiss. Amanda moans, "I waaaaaaant to believe you", to which Dex coos, "I waaaaaaant you" before planting her lips with a big smooch.

Adam enters Steven's office while he's finishing up a phone conversation with Claudia, and Adam's all, "Wuh?" and demands to know what they were talking about and where his estranged wife is holed up. Steven refuses to reveal anything and tells Adam he's only willing to be cooperative with him on matters pertaining to business.

Sammy Jo is playing with Danny at Carrington manor...and is about to take him outside for a walk when they run into Amanda, who threatens to phone Steven and ask him if she's authorized to leave the mansion with her son. Sammy Jo shoots her the stink-eye and snappishly says it looks like she's taking over the role of The Witch of Carrington Manor for Fallon now that she's off starring on her own spin-off show.

In the La Mirage dining room, Caress is trying to get Adam to spill the beans on why King Galen left for Portugal, as well as why Dex and Alexis are no longer married. Adam suddenly recalls that he once noticed Caress stalking Alexis at the La Mirage during The Alarm episode and demands to know who she is and what she wants. Caress fibs and says that she and Alexis are old friends who parted on bad terms, but that she really really wants to reconcile so they can become close again.

Sergeant Landers is at Carrington manor, questioning Sammy Jo about the whereabouts of George Hamilton, which she insists she has no idea about. Blake bitches at Sergeant Landers to try harder in the search for his wife's kidnappers, and he's like, "Yeah, whatever" and promises to be in touch if he happens to stumble across any leads. Sammy Jo wails about how this is all her fault - but Blake says that, on the contrary, he appreciates all she's doing to help the police.

Sammy Jo summons Morgan Hess to Delta Rho to tell him she needs him to fly to Rio de Janeiro asap and try to locate George Hamilton and Rita. Hess assumes she's up to no good, as usual, and says, "No thanks, you're trouble" ... so Sammy Jo reminds him that he used to not be able to say no to her, then promises to prostitute herself by giving him a roll in the hay if he's able to track down the two fugitives.

Alexis is tormented by dreams of Dex and the various times she's angrily clawed his cheek, along with the shock of walking in on him and Amanda doinking in his La Mirage suite. Her dreams then turn to flashbacks of when Blake slathered sunscreen on her shoulders while they were stuck in a northern Italian villa during Season 2...and she wakes with a start, stares longingly into space, and purrs, "Oooooh Blake. It's always been you." Oh dear.

The next morning, Alexis sweeps into Blake's office decked out in a long fur coat, and wanks him about how handsome and vital he is. When he's all 'the fuck are you talking about?' and grumbles at her again for sending the faux nanny to the mansion in order to get juicy captivity intel from Krystle, she breezily says she has more important things to discuss, namely Steven's bright idea to donate some of the pipeline land to the state of Colorado so that it can be formally designated a wildlife sanctuary. She points out that this would offset the damage a pipeline would do to the wildlife in the area, serve as good PR for their venture, and delude people into thinking that Denver Carrington and ColbyCo are pro-environment [despite being two giant oil companies that are generally in the business of destroying the environment]. Blake says he likes the idea and agrees to come by her office at around 6pm to hash out the details.

Caress tells her editor she really really wants to dig up more dirt on Alexis before going to print with her trashy tell all book, and smilingly says it's time Alexis got a visit from her loving sister.

At ColbyCo, Alexis greets Caress with an air kiss before the two sit down for light lunch salads and a side of passive-aggressive bitchy talk. Caress explains that she never liked the sound of Cassandra and therefore gave herself a far more sensual sounding name, then asks Alexis how she manages to look so fresh after all the marital hell she's been through in her life. Alexis retorts that her life has been a fairytale compared to her wretched fate of rotting away in a Caracas prison cell for the last five years...and Caress points out that she got two years off for good behavior and is utterly delighted to be free. When Alexis asks her what her plans are, she says that for now she's just enjoying her freedom and will prolly return to England at some point...but that she wants to hang around Denver for awhile and get reacquainted with her sister.
Picture

"How do you stay so impossibly fresh looking?"

Picture

"It's the result of never having served serious prison time in a Third World penitentiary."

Krystle drops in on Dex at his La Mirage suite to discuss the 'What the Fuck Were You Thinking Doinking Amanda? Situation', but Dex says he doesn't want to talk about it and points out that Amanda is a fully grown woman who can make her own decisions. Krystle's just about to argue that Amanda is actually more of a vapid woman-child tartlet with no decision-making ability to speak of, when Amanda - ack! - emerges from the bathroom clad in a towel. She poutishly tells Krystle to pass along to Blake that she has her heart set on coupling up with Dex, and Krystle's all, "OK. But gross."

Alexis breezes into Steven's office and announces that she's giving everyone at ColbyCo - him included - the day off 'cause of how hard they've all been working lately. Steven scrunches his face confusedly and is all, "Um, OK..?"

By the time Blake arrives at ColbyCo, Alexis is in the building alone with the lights dimmed...and she shows Blake the 1961 bottle of wine she selected so that they can toast to better times. Blake's like, "This is all kinda weird", then tells her he loooves Steven's wildlife sanctuary proposal, but stipulates that Denver Carrington should reimburse ColbyCo for the animal sanctuary. Alexis smiles and chirps, "Deal!", wants him to take note of how easy she is to deal with, and points out how much the two of them have in common. Blake argues that they haven't had anything in common for the last twenty years or so, but she insists that they could accomplish so much together by merging their individual oil companies to become one powerful oil company. Blake makes an ew face and says that merging with her would be a living nightmare - LOL - but Alexis argues that they have a unique passion from which sparks always fly. An icked out Blake tells her he turned off that passion many years ago, to which Alexis blurts out, "I divorced Dex. It's over" and that all of her marriages post-Blake have all failed 'cause she can never seem to recapture the kind of magic they once had. Blake makes it clear that he has zero romantic interest in her and is only willing to deal with her in the boardroom (not the bedroom), prompting Alexis to start railing about how every man she's ever loved has tried to control her, but that she "broke that mold" and now vows to break him. Blake shakes his head and says he feels nothing but pity for her, and she hisses, "Save your pity" as he beats a hasty retreat. Alexis glares into space while vowing to make Blake pay [for, I guess, not suddenly want to get back together with her after twenty years] by enlisting the help of someone who loathes him more than anyone else in the world: his brother, Ben Carrington. She then shakes her head dramatically while crying, "You're going to regret this, damn you!" LOL.

Alexis is less than enthused about the St. Thomas singles' scene

"The Divorce"
Original airdate: 2/12/1986

Episode summary: Alexis jets to St. Thomas to get a quickie divorce from Dex after catching him in bed with Amanda. Garrett suspects that Jackie could be his bio daughter. Steven begins to forge a friendship with Bart Fallmont.
Recap: Alexis keeps trying to get a hold of Dex in his suite at the La Mirage, but there's no answer...and then the camera pans over to the La Mirage, where Dex and Amanda are bumping uglies while the phone continuously rings. Eventually, Amanda unplugs the phone and smirkingly says she should have done that awhile ago, but Dex scrunches his face concernedly and tells her he regrets what they were doing just a few seconds ago, and that she should prolly get dressed and leave. Amanda says there's nothing they've been doing in his hotel room that she finds regrettable in any way 'cause of the special something that has always existed between them. Dex counters that he only hit the sheets with her 'cause of how hammered he was...and when Amanda saucily asks him if he's drunk now, he replies by giving her an intense smooch.

Over at Carrington manor, Krystle tells Blake that she's been going through the household accounts and was dismayed to learn that Rita withdrew nearly $1 million during the time she was impersonating her. Blake's all, "Wha-a-a-a?", quickly glances over the books, and grumbles about how George Hamilton and Rita need to be stopped before they hurt anyone else. When he wonders where in blazes they could be, Krystle says that George Hamilton talked a lot about fleeing to South America and suggests they ask Sammy Jo if she knows anything. Blake's like, "Good idea", picks up the phone, and barks at Krystle's skanklet of a niece to get herself to the mansion for an impromptu inquisition asap.

Sammy Jo tells Blake she's completely stunned to learn that Rita surreptitiously stole $1 million from the Carrington household, then insists that this thievery was done behind her back. A growly Blake warns her not to lie, so Sammy Jo says she really really had no earthly idea that this money was being stolen...or to where George Hamilton and Rita fled. Blake reminds her she's lied to him in the past, snarls that he'll find the two degenerates with or without her help, then rushes off to try to get the police more interested in locating the still-at-large fugitives.

Alexis rushes over to La Mirage and tells a hotel lackey that she desperately neeeeeds to check on her husband, then explains that he hasn't been answering his phone and she worries he might be ill. As Caress peeks into the hallway from her suite while grinning devilishly, the hotel lackey unlocks Dex's suite so that Alexis can get an eyeful of Dex and Amanda, nakedly canoodling in his bed. Alexis reacts by gasping, "Oh my Goddddd!", prompting Amanda to cry, "Mummy!", to which Alexis shoots her the stink-eye and says she'll never forgive this betrayal and that she's not to ever call her Mummy again. As she storms out, Dex half-heartedly calls after his wife, then stares sheepishly into space while a troubled looking Amanda continues to cling to him.

"From now on, you may refer to me as She Whose Floozy Daughter Betrayed."

Alexis returns home to find an irate Blake waiting for her. He demands to know how in the hell she could send a reporter posing as a nanny to the mansion to torment Krystle, and Alexis plays dumb and says she has no idea what he's talking about...and is currently more concerned about the fact that their daughter just got boned by her step-father. Blake scrunches his face into an ew expression and accuses Alexis of lying, so Alexis challenges him to speed over to La Mirage and check out the disturbing spectacle for himself. After Blake storms out of the penthouse, Alexis gets on the phone and instructs her pilot to have the jet fueled and ready to fly her to St. Thomas first thing in the morning, then stares miserably into space while muttering, "What a rotten night."

Blake asks Amanda if Alexis' allegations about her and Dex hitting the sheets is true, and instead of answering, Amanda bitterly mumbles about how Alexis is always right. When Blake tells her to just answer the damn question, she confirms that, yep, she and the Dexter knocked boots at La Mirage last night, and that she has zero regrets about either time she hooked up with him. When Blake's all, "The hell are you talking about?", she explains that she first rode Dex's baloney pony shortly before he and Alexis wed, and long before she and Prince Michael wed.  When she adds that she went through with the royal Moldavian wedding 'cause she only thought she loved Prince Michael, Blake shakes his head and growls, "Where's your sense of decency?" He then throws the towel on trying to get Amanda interested in any self-reflection and announces that he's storming over to La Mirage to give Dex the what for. Amanda cries, "Daddy, don't gooooooo, pleeeeeease!', then quickly gets on the horn with Dex to warn him that goat daddy's on his way over to punch him in the face.

Krystle drops by the penthouse while Alexis is eating breakfast and snarls at her for sending the reporter/faux nanny to the mansion in an effort to find out what went on between her and George Hamilton in the Delta Rho attic. She then gets all in Alexis' face and barks, "I was terrified! I lived with constant threats against my baby!" ... and when Alexis just sort of rolls her eyes disinterestedly, Krystle flips Alexis' plate of food onto her lap before storming towards the elevator. An irked Alexis bellows, "Enjoy your life as Mrs. Carrington while you can!" and vows to somehow see to it that Blake throws her out of the mansion.

Caress types up more dish on Alexis for her upcoming tell all book, then tries to phone her sister, but is informed that she'll be out of town until tomorrow.

Blake bursts into Dex's La Mirage suite and punches the Lothario in the face before muttering, "I've been waiting a long time to do that." Dex agrees that, yep, he's definitely had that coming for quite a while now, and Blake shoots him a hateful glare and warns him to stay far away from his daughter. Dex says he's willing to do his part, but that the nymphet also needs to be told to keep her distance from him...and when an incensed Blake asks if he's implying that Amanda took advantage of him, he back pedals and contritely says he's accepting all responsibility for the imprudent doink.

"Someone's cruisin' for another bruisin'."

Caress flounces over to ColbyCo and tells the unsuspecting Steven that she's a journalist who's looking for background into on Alexis...but since she's out of town, she'd like him to fill in some of the blanks. She proceeds to ask if Alexis is a good mother, and Steven vouches for her loving heart and generous spirit with all of her children. He then jokes about how ecstatic he is about having Dex as a step-father - but when Caress asks about Alexis' enemies, Steven clams up and abruptly cuts off the interview. Caress shrugs unconcernedly and smugly reveals that she has more than enough inside intel to write a juicy tell all on Alexis, given that she's always known her...and Steven scrunches his face confusedly, but refrains from asking her to elaborate on that odd remark.

Blake is in a meeting with Bart Fallmont, trying to convince him he wants Denver Carrington to be seen as believing that the environment is important...and to that end says the company is willing to reroute the pipeline around an area of pristine nature. As Bart chews on that, Steven enters the office just as Blake is called out for a quick one-on-one with someone. Steven apologizes to Bart for the vigorously homoerotic wrestling match he instigated at the gym five episodes ago, and Bart's like, "Forget it" as the two stare at each other longingly.

Dex confronts King Galen about where Alexis jetted off to, and he tells Dex he has no idea, but that it's obvious he's lost her 'cause she fancies a certain king. Dex glares at him and snarls that he'd happily kill him if he were worth going to prison over, then storms out of the guest suite.

Alexis is in St. Thomas (Virgin Islands), moodily sipping a drink at a hotel bar when a buff young blonde wanders over, correctly assumes she's in the Caribbean to get a quickie divorce, and says he's gotten into the fun habit of tapping older rich, soon-to-be-single ladies. Alexis tells him he's barking up the wrong tree and makes it clear she has zero interest in indulging in a casual, cougar-style romp with him, then tips the bartender with her ginormous diamond wedding ring (!).

Steven is on the phone with an old friend named Griff, who's inviting him to attend Chris Deegan's upcoming office party. Steven turns down the invitation 'cause he's a boring drip who'd rather mope around the mansion in his spare time...and when Krystle overhears his end of the conversation, she urges him to stop shutting out the world and open himself up to another relationship.

Blake summons Adam to his office and demands a detailed audit of all Denver Carrington's financial transactions for the last two months. Adam scrunches his face worriedly as he recalls the sneaky way he got power of attorney over Blake during The Alarm episode, but then relaxes when Blake clarifies that the purpose of the audit is to figure out whether or not George Hamilton stole money from the company. Blake then changes the subject and orders Adam to stop acting like such a dickwad towards Steven, who he's decided to promote to the company's board of directors. Adam poutishly asks why he's not getting that honor, and Blake sourly retorts that it remains to be seen if he deserves it.

Adam returns to his office and finds a frail looking Dr. Edwards waiting for him. Dr. Edwards explains that he travelled all the way to Denver to see some doctors about his ill health and to report that a Claudia Blaisdel, who has based herself in The Lodge motel in Billings, MT, is poking into his past...and that she didn't buy his lame story of barely knowing a certain Adam Carrington. Adam breezily tells him not to worry about it, wishes him well on his various upcoming medical tests, and steers him out of the office. He then tries to contact Claudia at The Lodge, but learns that she's checked out.

Caress is wandering around Alexis' penthouse (is there not security in this building??), marveling at its luxuriousness, and enjoying the caviar that Alexis' manservant must have laid out. She pours herself a glass of champagne, then grabs a magazine and stretches out on the couch - just as Dex enters the penthouse and assumes for a moment that she's Alexis. When she lowers the magazine, Dex is all, "Ack! Who the hell are you?" ... and Caress introduces herself as Alexis' sister. When Dex informs her that he's Alexis' husband, Caress looks intrigued by the idea of having such a hunky brother-in-law and invites him to stay for a sultry chat. Dex looks weirded out [by the annoying way she purrs everything that comes out of her mouth] and says he can't do that right now, and Caress just shrugs and pours herself another glass of bubbly.

"Just think of me as your naughty sister-in-law."

Steven has decided to attend Chris Deegan's office party after all...and soon after he arrives, he notices that Bart Fallmont is also in attendance. Griff confirms to Steven that - shocker of shocks - Bart is gay and didn't bother coming with a girlfriend-beard, and Steven perks up at having his hunch confirmed, then wanders across the room to warmly greet Bart. He suggests to Bart that they become friends and that he knows all too well how hard it is to come out of the closet - but a prickly Bart places a restraining hand on Steven's arm and warns him to stay out of his private life. Adam arrives at the office party at that exact moment and spots the intimate gesture...then makes a beeline to the nearest pay phone to order his investigator to dig up dirt on a possibly gay Bart Fallmont.

Garrett drops by Dominique's La Mirage suite and finds Jackie playing the piano. After the two introduce each other, Garrett looks stunned to learn that Dominique has a twenty year old daughter she's never mentioned...then suspicious when Jackie tells him that her alleged bio dad was a car racer who died before she was born.

Garrett heads down to the La Mirage dining room, where Dominique is gaily rehearsing I've Got You Under My Skin. After listening to her sing the entire fuuuuuucking song (!), Garrett applauds, then tells Dominique he just met her daughter and doesn't recall her ever mentioning hooking up with a race car driver around twenty years ago. He asks if Jackie could be his daughter, given the timeline of their past sack-time, and Dominique snaps, "Of course not!" - but Garrett says that he nor his suspicions are going to be easily swept aside.

Amanda poutily asks Dex why he never phoned her back, so he tells her he doesn't want to see her anymore. Amanda reminds him she's not some hooker he casually picked up one night, and Dex softens and admits that, yeah, she's incredibly sensual and all - but that he's still in love with Alexis. Amanda points out that Alexis feels nothing but hatred for him after catching them in the sack together, and adds that the two of them coupling up always had a 'meant to be' kind of vibe. Dex denies feeling the same way and tells a distraught Amanda he just learned that Alexis' jet will be landing soon, and that he has to rush off 'cause he wants to meet the plane and beg for his [ex]wife's forgiveness.

Shortly after Alexis' plane lands, Dex boards and implores Alexis to forgive him for the icky sin of boning her daughter. Alexis is all, "Nope" and informs him she was just in the Caribbean to get a quickie divorce from him, then smugly adds, "To marry a king!" ... and as she flouncily deplanes, Dex stares despondently into space.

Alexis enters the guest suite and overhears King Galen chuckling with whoever he's talking to on the phone (while no longer fake crippled) that he's successfully bamboozled Alexis. A few seconds later, he turns around and sees Alexis standing there and pales when she hisses, "I want you out of here." As he tries to stammer an implausible explanation, she cuts him off and declares that she'll be keeping the royal jewels he gave her, then orders him to pack up his shit and get the hell out of her penthouse.

"Just for that I'm keeping the royal jewels."

Alexis mopishly wanders up to her bedroom, pets her faithful (and adorable!) Shih Tzu, then angrily swipes the contents atop her dresser before hissing, "You bastard. All of you!" Amanda ambles into the room and says they need to talk, but Alexis makes it clear she has nothing to say to her, that she no longer considers her her daughter, and that she wants her to stay the hell out of her life.

Alexis crowns herself Future Queen Consort of Moldavia

"Souvenirs"
Original airdate: 2/5/1986

Episode summary: Amanda tells Prince Michael she's filing for divorce, then hits the sheets with a drunken Dex. Krystle is confronted by a nosy reporter who demands the sordid details of her captivity. Fallon jets to Denver after being attacked by Miles.
Recap: Alexis is home alone (with her adorable Shih Tzu!) and sipping champagne. She stares at a framed photo of Dex before striding over to pick it up and throw it across the bedroom while yelling, "Damn you!" LOL. A few seconds later, King Galen calls to ask her to stop by his suite asap...and she immediately rushes over and clucks about how terrible she feels about Dex attacking him. Galen points out that Dex never wanted him in their home, pretends he's sorry about how he's been nothing but trouble for her, and half-heartedly offers to move out. Alexis breezily says that Dex's pride was momentarily bruised, but that after a spat he always comes back to her. Galen murmurs, "If only I could walk, I'd walk out of your life", but Alexis insists that he's welcome to sponge off of her in her penthouse guest suite for as long as he's [fake] paralyzed. He thanks her and kisses her hand...and once she's exited the suite, he stands up and saunters over to the bar to fix himself a drink.

Over at Carrington manor, Krystle is laying in bed, gazing lovingly at goat daddy when he wakes up and goes, "Ack! Why are you staring at me?", so she tells him he's the most beautiful sight she's ever seen. After they smooch for a few seconds, a team of servants enters the room to deliver breakfast...and Blake explains to Krystle that he arranged this 'cause he wants her to take it super easy today. Krystle wanders over to the table loaded with breakfast food and glances at the accompanying morning paper featuring the headline Carrington Abductor Still at Large - Police Stymied and stares worriedly into space. Blake silently curses the headline before canoodling Krystle and assuring her that he won't allow anything bad to ever happen to her again.

The Denver Chronicle covers the hard hitting news of the day

Picture

"Don't worry. I'll fire the dumbass servant who thought it was a good idea to bring a paper with that headline into this bedroom."

Blake runs into Adam while clutching the newspaper and admonishes him for not keeping  "filth like this" out of the press. Adam says he's doing all he can, but can't control what gets published in newspapers that's based on police reporting, to which Blake barks, "That's exactly what I expect of you!" and says he doesn't want Krystle to have to relive the doppelgänger nightmare. Adam half-heartedly promises to do his very best to suppress any further news articles.

Amanda is seating herself for breakfast at the La Mirage when Dex wanders over to complain about how much he sometimes wants to strangle Alexis. As Amanda clucks sympathetically, Prince Michael spots them together, makes a beeline over to the table, and orders Amanda to wait for him in his office. Once she's out of earshot, Prince Michael stares incredulously at Dex and says he doesn't want to find him alone with his wife ever again...and Dex snarls back that he's sick of being told what to do, then asks why he doesn't give his freeloading father the La Mirage's royal suite so that he no longer has to convalesce in his wife's penthouse, which is actually a pretty fair question.

Amanda reminds Prince Michael that she put off filing for divorce to see if their doomed-from-the-start marriage was remotely salvageable, but has decided that she simply can't take being his wife anymore. She announces that she's divorcing him, then flounces out of the office.

Alexis arrives at Carrington manor with a bouquet of balloons and explains to Krystle that she stopped by to drop off a gift for Danny. She then asks Krystle how much Blake enjoyed hitting the sack with her doppelgänger while she was being held captive by George Hamilton, and Krystle irritably insists that there were no intimate moments between Rita and goat daddy. Alexis murmurs, "Poor Blake" and surmises that if Rita was as boring in bed as she is, Blake prolly wouldn't have noticed the difference. Meow.

Fallon breezes into the study to greet Blake, and he happily rushes across the room to give her a fatherly hug. He remarks that she seems a bit off and asks her if anything's wrong, and she tells him she's just a little homesick and needs to freshen up, hopefully in her old room. She mentions that Steven filled her in on the wretched Krystle/doppelgänger storyline and asks Blake if there's anything she can do to help, so he suggests she have a heart-to-heart with Krystle, which he thinks will be "a good tonic". He then reminds her that he's always available if she ever needs to talk about anything that's bothering her, and she smiles at him gratefully and wonders aloud what women who don't have a father as awesome as him do during tough times...and as the two hug, she stares into space with a troubled expression on her face.
Picture

"And I really don't like being on a show that the producers should have pulled the plug on two seasons ago."

Krystle is angrily tearing through her lingerie closet when Steven enters her bedroom to see whassup. She demands to know if Rita wore her dainties, and Steven's like, "Duh, probably" and urges her to take it easy. She says she haaaaaates the idea of Rita wearing her clothes and sleeping in her bed...and when Steven says he's going to summon Blake to calm her down, she stops him, wails about how violated she feels, and begs him not to tell anyone about her wig-out just now.

Dex returns to the penthouse while Alexis is seated at her desk doing some paperwork. She asks him if he's gotten the aggression out of his system...and he tells her he really doesn't want to fight anymore and just stopped in to pick up some of his things. He stubbornly adds that he refuses to move back in as long as King Galen is living in the penthouse, then heads upstairs to pack.

Fallon finds Steven pumping iron in the mansion's exercise room, and the two hug and reminisce about how they used to get into trouble as kids. When he senses her veiled distress and asks what's wrong, she non-answers by suggesting they stay up late tonight talking while pigging out on chocolate cake. Mmm...chocolate cake.

Alexis gets a call from Caracas, informing her that her sister has been released earlier than was expected from prison...and she responds by looking aghast and staring perplexedly into space.

Caress is in a meeting with who I'll assume is her book editor, who smarmily tells her she's as stubborn as she is beautiful. Caress insists on complete secrecy surrounding her upcoming tell-all book, and that she can't wait until the entire world knows the true story about Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter. [No doubt the entire world is breathlessly awaiting hearing the true story of a Denver-based business woman.]

Miles drops by Carrington manor unannounced to see Fallon, who looks less than thrilled by his unexpected presence. She snarls that she came to Denver to get away from him after he raped her, and he "explains" that he only committed the assault 'cause he loves her...then sheepishly adds that he can't defend his actions. As she glares at him in momentary disgust, he insists that there's nothing he wouldn't do for her - just as Blake appears in the doorway of the study and tells Miles he has no idea what they're talking about, but doesn't want to see his daughter hurt. Miles insists that he loves Fallon and only strives to make her happy...and will do as she wishes and head back to L.A. tonight. After he slinks off, Fallon hugs Blake and wails, "I don't know what to dooooo!", so Blake urges her to discover the answer by listening to her heart [and hopefully not contemplate resuming a relationship with a man who's capable of sexually assaulting her...the way, uh, Krystle did after his grisly attack of her in Season 1].
Picture

"You committed a felony last night, douchebag."

"I guess a thank you is in order for not doing the right thing by calling the authorities."

Late that night, Alexis slips into her office to place a call to Ricardo Montalbán (!) ... and after the two briefly reminisce about how it's been more than five years since they've seen each other, she tells him she just found out that Caress was released early from the Venezuelan prison and neeeeeeds him to fly to Denver asap to involve himself in the matter. He tells her he can't 'cause he's in the middle of something important - but she snappishly retorts that there's nothing more important than dealing with her sister's unexpected freedom.

The next morning, Prince Michael breaks it to his father that Amanda is filing for divorce...and King Galen's all, "Wha-a-a?" and tells him he can't let that happen and that he should do everything possible to make her happy. He then gets up out of his wheelchair and paces the room, prompting Prince Michael to stare at him in stunned bewilderment. Galen's like, "Oops...um, turns out I can walk again" and admits that, yep, he's been faking his paralysis for the last several episodes, and insists it must remain a secret. Prince Michael correctly assumes that he's manipulating Alexis into allowing him to continue to "recover" in her penthouse and finance the bottomless pit that is his quest to reclaim the Moldavian throne...then contorts his face into an expression of disgust and accuses his father of using everyone in his life. An irked Galen says to not judge him while he's in the process of getting their country back, but Prince Michael just sneers, "You make me sick."

Over lunch at La Mirage, Fallon tells Alexis that she "feels split down the middle" when it comes to deciding who she likes better: Jeff or Miles. Alexis makes it clear that she's Team Jeff and reminds her that Jeff looooves her, knows her for who she is, and never gave up the hope of finding her alive. Fallon mulls that over for a few seconds before changing the subject and asking Alexis if Dex has come crawling back to her yet, and Alexis admits he hasn't, then natters some nonsense how she's done her best to 'play the game' in a man's world.

Adam receives a goodbye forever and don't try to find me letter from Claudia. Haha! Adam crumples it up and calls up the Tulsa hotel where she was staying, but learns that she checked out and gave no forwarding address. [Incidentally, does anyone ever give a hotel clerk their forwarding address when they check out?] Gerard, meanwhile, enters the room to inform him that some old lady is here to interview for a [non-existent] nanny job, and a vexed Adam barks at him to just send her up to the nursery.

Krystle enters the nursery and is surprised to find the prospective nanny (who's clad in a black cape) hovering over Kristina's crib. She tells the old lady that there aren't currently any openings for a nanny, and the old lady clucks regretfully and says it's too bad 'cause she'd loooove to look after her angel baby...then coos at Kristina that she must have missed her mommy when she was being held captive by a madman. She then blushingly giggles about how handsome George Hamilton is, heard that he "has a sexy way with women", and asks Krystle if the doppelgänger storyline ever made her feel violated, depressed, or cheapened. Krystle shoots her a WTF? look and demands to know who she is, and the old lady responds by chiding her for not being willing to spill the beans to the press and reveal a single salacious deet of her captivity, which is turning out to be "the story of the year". Krystle correctly guesses that the woman is a reporter, demands to know how dare she enter the mansion under false pretences, and bellows, "Get out!!" She then calls out to Blake, who rushes in and hastily summons a security guard to physically remove the cheeky interloper.

"Did your handsome abductor make your naughty parts tingle - just a little bit?"

"You're pretty nosy for a prospective nanny."

King Galen is visiting with Alexis in her living room, wanking her about how ravishing she is before showing her some of the Moldavian Crown Jewels that were saved from the revolutionaries on account of the items were being refitted in Switzerland at the time of the coup. He tells her they could be hers if she agrees to become his queen, and she stares hungrily at the jewels, but then breathily insists she loves Dex and that her marriage is important to her. Galen's all, "Yeah, whatever" and says it wouldn't hurt for her to at least try on one of the pieces...and Alexis picks up the jewel encrusted tiara and solemnly places it atop her head while contorting her face into a hilariously awed, earnest expression. Galen caresses her face - just as Dex enters the penthouse and sarcastically apologizes for interrupting her coronation. He then marches across the living room and calls Galen scum before lunging at him, and Alexis blocks him with a hand swipe that leaves deep red claw marks on the side of his face, and barks at him to get the hell out of her penthouse.

Ricardo Montalbán arrives at Carrington manor to make an offer to Blake regarding making his fleet of oil tankers available so that he can more easily transport oil out of the South China Sea. Blake says he currently has pressing personal business to attend to, but will let him know if he's interested in taking him up on the offer.

Amanda finds a scratched up Dex slouching at a table in the La Mirage dining room, smoking a cigarette and guzzling hard liquor. He tells her he's in no mood for company 'cause he just had a terrible fight with Alexis and is going to cope with his failing marriage by making a public, drunken spectacle of himself...and Amanda takes that to mean she's more than welcome to seat herself at his table and order a glass of champagne to celebrate her imminent divorce from her princely prick of a husband. When she wonders aloud why it has to hurt so much, Dex says that the trick is to not give a rat's ass...and to guzzle however much alcohol his liver can possibly tolerate.

"While I prefer to cope with my shitty marriage by guzzling a bottle of whiskey."

Blake storms into the workout room to bark at Adam for allowing a reporter to infiltrate the mansion. He bitchily informs Adam that it was his business to know that the faux nanny was really a reporter, then guilts him by adding that Krystle is extremely shaken. Adam shrugs apologetically and says it was a mistake, and Blake growls that he's made more than his share lately - just as Gerard pokes his head into the room to inform Blake that Krystle has just gotten into her car and driven off.

Krystle is in the Delta Rho attic, quietly wandering around the room while audio snippets of George Hamilton threatening her baby play inside her head. A few seconds later, Blake appears in the doorway and asks her what in blazes she's doing here, so she explains that she had to come back to her attic prison one last time to know that she could be in this room and freely walk out. She points at the little mattress bed and tells him she used to lay on it and think about them being together again one day, then tearfully asks him to hold her tight. After a quick hug, she declares she's ready to go home.

Dex is now completely drunk and rambling at Amanda about how he never should have moved to Denver in the first place. As he downs the last of his whiskey, Amanda helps him to his feet and steers him up to his hotel room, where he collapses, face-first onto the bed. Amanda sits next to him and whispers, "It was always you, Dex" and strokes his back...and he perks up at her sensual touch, rolls over, and gives her a passionate smooch.

Alexis asks Ricardo Montalbán why Caress got an early prison release, and Ricardo urges her to not get so worked up about it and says she's probably on her way back to England, never to be heard from again. He schmaltzy calls Alexis ravishing and "the most exciting woman I've ever known", to which Alexis replies that she's a very happily married woman...and that their hook-up, steamy though it was, is firmly in the past. She declares that Dex is her present, and that their union is perfect and forever.

Over at the La Mirage, Dex has mounted Amanda, and the two are going at it while hungrily smooching.

Blake reunites with his non-doppelgänger wife

"The Accident"
Original airdate: 1/29/1986

Episode summary: Krystle escapes George Hamilton's clutches and is finally reunited with Blake. Alexis finds a sleazy way to exploit Krystle's kidnapping ordeal. Rita and George Hamilton vanish after their car drives over a cliff.
Recap: George Hamilton tells Sammy Jo and Krystle (who he assumes is Rita) that he wasn't expecting to run into them at Delta Rho, and Sammy Jo nervously explains that "Rita" was extremely freaked out about Blake unexpectedly regaining consciousness...but that she feels a whole lot better now that they've talked it through. She adds that "Rita's" place is at Blake's bedside and quickly ushers Krystle out of the building, and George Hamilton just stares after them benignly and doesn't seem to sense that anything is amiss.

At the hospital, Blake tells Steven that something is definitely not right with Krystle and that, weird as it sounds, he doesn't believe the woman he's been living with for the last eleven episodes is his wife. When Steven scrunches his face skeptically, Blake insists that the real Krystle is out there somewhere and desperately needs help...and Steven's all, "Um, OK" and promises to get to the bottom of it.

Rita is banging on the attic door when George Hamilton opens it, assumes she's Krystle, and tells her he's sooooo looking forward to their new life together. He informs her that he has their phony passports ready for South America...and when he caps off the sentence with darling, Rita glares at him for a few seconds, then decides 'why not play along for a little while?', and tells him she's totes excited about living "a whole new life of love and romance".

Krystle and Sammy Jo race over to the hospital, where a crowd of police are waiting to question them about the kidnapping/doppelgänger scheme they just reported. Krystle agrees to tell the authorities everything she knows - but only after she gets a chance to check on Blake and see for herself that the old goat's still breathing.

Dex bursts into Alexis' office to complain again about the $2 million she gave to King Galen and warns that he's making a fool of her. Alexis snarkishly reminds him that it's her money, and that if he does anything to blow her 'Be in Charge of the Moldavian Banking Industry' plans, he's going to be one sorry mofo.

Krystle runs into Steven, who glares at her suspiciously and growls, "Who are you?" She assures him she's really her this time, and Steven seems satisfied enough with that and directs her to Blake's hospital room. She profusely thanks him for everything he's done for her family [since her kidnapping], and a perplexed Steven asks Sammy Jo what in blazes is going on - and she does the annoying TV tropey thing where, instead of answering, she just stares back at him mutely.

Krystle bursts into Blake's room and coos, "Ooooh Blake!" - but he just stares back at her warily and pulls his hand away when she tries to clasp it. Krystle assures him that she's really her, and that her evil doppelgänger is out of their lives forever. As Blake mulls that over, Krystle recalls his marriage proposal and her insecurities about whether or not she could fit into a mansion environment and his wealthy lifestyle...and Blake grins and says that, yep, he's convinced it's her, and the two hug tearfully as he begs her to never ever leave him.
Picture

"Hi Blake. It's me."

"Could you be more specific?"

While en route to the airport, Rita sassily tells George Hamilton that Krystle can't make it and sends her regrets...then lapses into her southern accent to prove that it's Rita he's talking to. She explains that Krystle duped him earlier when she escaped and took off with Sammy Jo, then admonishes him for lying to her about his icky feelings for her. George Hamilton chuckles and pretends that he had planned to dispose of Krystle before fleeing to South America alone - but Rita doesn't buy that bullcack and lunges at him, which causes the car to - ack! - drive over a cliff.

Alexis bursts into the hospital waiting room, where Krystle is nervously pacing, and snidely calls her "the bar room ballerina". Krystle snappishly tells her she can't see Blake right now 'cause he's resting, and Alexis reacts by calling her "a cold, unfaithful tramp" and reminds her of the time she and Dex caught her dancing with George Hamilton during the Roadhouse episode. Krystle's like, "He kidnapped me, dumbass" and explains that up until now he'd been holding her captive inside the Delta Rho attic while an imposter, who looks exactly like her, was substituting for her at Carrington manor. As Alexis chortles at the implausibility of a ridiculous even by Dynasty standards storyline, Krystle reminds her that at the roadhouse she had asked for a cigarette, despite not being a smoker, and did it so she could slip her a matchbook with help written inside. Alexis doesn't buy that and instead wonders aloud what she and her handsome captor were doing together in the Delta Rho attic during those long lonely nights.

Dominique and Garrett are canoodling in her bed at the La Mirage. He urges her to come to California with him - but she says she can't run away with him, then cryptically says there's one thing associated with their past that can't ever be erased...and somehow Garrett doesn't seem remotely curious about what the hell she's talking about, even though it wouldn't take a genius to make a reasonably educated guess.

Blake makes his triumphant return to Carrington manor, where the servants are lined up to butt-kissingly welcome him home. A police detective, who's waiting for Blake in the study, informs him that they located the wreckage of George Hamilton's car - but that no trace of him or Rita could be found, and suspects that they were thrown from the car before it plunged to the bottom of the canyon and exploded. Blake scrunches his wrinkly face concernedly and says he's not looking forward to telling Krystle about this latest development.

Krystle and Blake are hovering over Baby Kristina in the nursery, relieved that the nightmare of Krystle's kidnapping is finally over. Krystle tells Blake that George Hamilton threatened to hurt the baby, and Blake assures her he's hired extra bodyguards and promises that eventually the police are going to find and arrest her captor and doppelgänger.

Alexis flounces over to Delta Rho and finds Sammy Jo hanging in the main house. She informs Sammy Jo that she hired a PI to look into the doppelgänger/kidnapping scheme and has somehow already learned that Sammy Jo discovered Rita in a New York bar. When she threatens to report her findings to the police, Sammy Jo says she's willing to spill the beans and confirms that George Hamilton kidnapped Krystle and soon became attracted to her - but that the sentiment was definitely not mutual. Alexis perks up and asks if the two hit the sheets...and when Sammy Jo makes a blech face and says she highly doubts it, Alexis points out that it could have happened, admonishes Sammy Jo for generally being a liar, and sashays out of the room.
Picture

"Tell me what kind of hanky panky Krystle and her handsome captor were into while she was his guest in that attic."

Picture

"No. And gross."

At Carrington manor, Krystle chides Sammy Jo for getting involved with Rita and George Hamilton...and a sheepish Sammy Jo explains that she did it 'cause she was angry and wanted her inheritance money, and that the scheme quickly got out of control. She says she's willing to accept that she'll be prosecuted and likely sent to prison, and Krystle mulls that over and says she believes she's telling the truth...and that she prolly won't press charges 'cause of her role in helping her escape from the wretched attic.

Amanda drops by the penthouse to whine to Dex about how shittily her marriage is going...then says she knows that he too is having problems with Alexis. She says they've both made mistakes and flirtily points out that their problems could have a common solution, but he disdainfully reminds her that she's a married woman.

While in bed later that night, Dex urges Alexis to bail out of her deal with King Galen, and Alexis rolls her eyes in annoyance and says she's sick and tired of him nagging her about her business dealings with Galen. Dex stubbornly retorts that he's determined to prove that Galen is faking his paralysis.

Adam arrives in Tulsa and drops by Claudia's hotel room, where she's doing some paperwork. When he happily greets her, she accuses him of lying to her and explains that she found the official Denver Carrington letter in which he threatened to sue her if she didn't drop her relentless pursuit of the ownership of the Blaisdel/Lankershim oil well. Adam tries to brush that off and tells her they need to stick together, then natters nonsensically about his lonely, drug-fuelled upbringing in Podunksville Montana, where his only friend was a kindly man named Dr. Edwards. He tells Claudia that if they join forces in their misfittedness they can show the Carringtons who they are - but she says she no longer trusts him 'cause he lied to her, then yells, "Get oooooout!"
Picture

"Whaddya say to banding together as misfits and sticking it to the Carringtons?"

Picture

"Instead of that, whaddya say you get the hell outa my hotel room?"

Adam returns to Denver and fibs to Blake about a pretend business trip he just took to Colorado Springs while Claudia is visiting a friend in New York. Blake says he's still quite shaken about Krystle being kidnapped and barks at Adam to make sure that there's zero publicity about her ordeal.

Claudia calls Billings, Montana to inquire about a Dr. Edwards, then stares contemplatively into space.

King Galen is sitting in his wheelchair, reading the newspaper, when Dex storms into his suite to snark about how he's onto him and knows he's bleeding his wife of her money. He says he's talked to paralysis experts at the hospital and doesn't believe he hasn't made any progress - and Galen looks amused and wryly says that his insights into his current physical condition are fascinating. He asks Dex what motive he'd have for faking...so Dex snarls that he's a fraud, demands he stand up, then yanks him out of his chair. LOL. Galen pretends his legs don't work and fake collapses - just as Alexis bursts into the suite and is all, "The fuck is going on here?!" She rushes over to tend to Galen while yelling at Dex to get out...and when he asks her if she's absolutely sure she wants to throw him out, she hisses, "I'm damn sure!"

Krystle storms over to ColbyCo to admonish Alexis for threatening to report Sammy Jo to the police, and makes it clear how furious she is about her suggesting that any consensual hanky panky went on between her and George Hamilton. Alexis chuckles and says she doesn't buy her innocent act, considering how long she was held captive...and Krystle shoots her the stink-eye, says she loathes her even more than when they used to cat fight, and that she should consider this warning to stay out of her bidness an unmistakable threat.

Dominique returns to her La Mirage suite and is stunned to find her daughter, Jackie, waiting for her. When Dominique's all, "Wha-a-at are you doing here?", Jackie says she got expelled from her fancy Switzerland school for missing curfew...and that she missed curfew 'cause she stayed out all night to watch a meteor shower. Dominique's like, "OK, I guess that's believable" and says if it's really the reason she was out all night, she'll have her reinstated in the school in no time. Jackie poutishly says she doesn't want that, and that she'd much prefer to attend school in the U.S. ...and Dominique mulls that over and decides she's A-OK with that decision.
Picture

"Would you believe that I got thrown out of school because of my fascination with meteor showers?"

Picture

"I would, actually."

Krystle is having a nightmare and wakes up yelling, "Noooooo!!", which causes Blake to come running into the room to see whassup. She hugs him and whimpers about how George Hamilton had told her she'd never see him (Blake) or their daughter again...and Blake suggests they jet off to Hawaii for a week - but she clings onto him and says she never wants to leave the safety of Carrington manor ever again.

Alexis tells Steven she's pretty sure that Krystle got it on with George Hamilton during her captivity - but Steven says that Krystle would never willingly cheat on Blake, refrains from pointing out that if anything had happened, it most likely would have been an act of sexual violence, and urges her to drop the matter. Alexis ignores that last thing and references Patty Hearst and her "hostage syndrome" - OMFG - then says she has to rush off to an appointment.

Alexis is in a meeting with the editor of The National Informer, telling him she's sitting on a fascinating story, the headline of which should be Krystle Carrington: Love Slave. The editor looks intrigued as Alexis tells him the story of a tall, dark, and handsome man kidnapping Krystle and imprisoning her in an attic, then grins lecherously and says, "It sounds delicious!" Alexis agrees that, yep, forcible confinement is indeed delicious and assures him that everyone will want to read the sordid details of her archenemy's ordeal.

Krystle passes the time during her captivity enjoying a Danielle Steel novel

"The Vigil"
Original airdate: 1/22/1986

Episode summary: Blake's health improves after being hospitalized, which causes Rita/Krystle to panic. Dex gets increasingly frustrated with Alexis' lack of interest in hitting the sheets with him. Amanda catches Prince Michael hugging Elena.
Recap: Blake is rushed to the hospital by ambulance...and as the paramedics wheel him over to an exam room, the doctor peppers Steven with questions about Blake's medical history. Steven snaps back that he should be spending his time saving Blake, not wasting precious time with questions, and the doctor snaps back that Blake's life depends on him and his medical team knowing if the old goat was taking any kind of medication. As Steven stares back at him blankly, Sammy Jo - who's been eavesdropping on the conversation - rushes over, hands the doctor a piece of paper, and says it includes a list of the chemicals that were in whatever heart medicine Rita has been poisoning him with for the last few episodes.

Rita races over to Delta Rho in a panic and tells George Hamilton that Operation Poison Blake to Death has backfired, then explains that shortly after Blake collapsed, Steven found him and immediately had him rushed to the hospital. George Hamilton instructs her to head over to the hospital pronto and play the role of concerned wife, and Rita responds by scrunching her face worriedly and then staring contemplatively into space.

Krystle is having a restless sleep when George Hamilton enters the attic carrying a tray with hot tea. She tells him she was having a tortured dream about Blake, and George Hamilton rolls his eyes and snarls, "Blake. Always Blake" and barks at her to forget about her husband. Krystle ignores that edict and says she was dreaming that Blake was calling out to her 'cause something was very, very wrong...then pleads with George Hamilton to find out if he's OK. He responds by staring back at her stonily and growling, "Your tea is getting cold" before stiffly striding out of the room.

"Could you find out if Blake's OK, then report back?"

Picture

"I'll get right on that."

Rita/Krystle arrives at the hospital and runs into Amanda and Prince Michael. They ask her whassup with Blake being rushed to the ER, and Rita/Krystle says it's something to do with his heart.

Over in the guest penthouse suite, King Galen is loafing in his wheelchair, pretending to still be paralyzed when Alexis breezes into the room. He whines about his paralysis, then tells her his underground Free Moldavia campaign could use an infusion of $2 million. When Alexis reacts by frowning disapprovingly at the financial drain he's fast becoming, he complains about how hard it is for him to ask for handouts - but Alexis shakes off her initial reluctance and says she considers these cash gifts to be less a handout and more an investment in their future. A few seconds later, Amanda calls Alexis to let her know that Blake has been rushed to the hospital with a serious heart issue, and Alexis is all, "Ack! I'll be right over!"

Alexis arrives at the hospital waiting room decked out in a fantastic fur coat/hat ensemble and makes a beeline over to Rita/Krystle and demands to know what she's done to Blake. After the two bicker back and forth, Alexis gets all in her face and warns her that if Blake dies, she'll make her wish she were never born.

Alexis drops by Blake's hospital room and breathily urges him to fight for his life, then says she can't help but blame his cheating trophy wife for everything that's happened.

George Hamilton, who's masquerading as Dr. Travers, covertly approaches Sammy Jo at the hospital's reception desk to tell her that Blake is dying, just as they planned - but Sammy Jo reminds him that murdering Blake wasn't actually part of their plan and that she has no problem ratting him out for murder. He points out that she hasn't exactly been an innocent bystander in the tedious Rita/Krystle/doppelganger plot and will happily take her down with them if she blabs about it. When Steven notices the two of them talking, he rushes over and demands to know what's going on, and Sammy Jo plays dumb about anything being amiss - just a nurse emerges from Blake's room to inform Steven that his father isn't responding well to treatment.

Steven looks on as the doctor monitors Blake's heart rate...and when that's done, he sits by his father's bedside and urges him to not give up 'cause they're just getting to know each other again. Blake regains consciousness and lightly thrashes about as he has flashbacks of when Rita/Krystle ignored his pleas for help before he collapsed, and starts moaning, "Krystle.."

Alexis spots "Dr. Travers" and asks him what he's doing at the hospital, so he tells her he's doing rounds for his private patients. Alexis snidely remarks on Krystle's preference for the company of younger men and says she'd be a great catch for a handsome doctor such as himself...and if she and Blake split, she'd probably be allowed to keep all of her jewelry.

Dominique arrives at the hospital and is met by Jonathan Lake (who had alerted her about Blake's health crisis), and the two rush over to Blake's hospital room, where Dominique sits by his bedside and begs him to get well. Garrett Boydston appears and tells Dominique he came to the hospital as soon as he heard and assures her that Blake will fully recover...and Dominique wails about how frightened she is, and the two hug as Jonathan watches in dismay from across the hall.

Dex storms into the guest suite where King Galen is wheeling around and angrily demands to know whaddup with him requesting another $2 million of "blood money" from his wife. King Galen calmly says he discussed the money request with Alexis, and that he (Dex) needn't concern himself with the matter since the money isn't his. Dex snarls that his reinstatement as the Moldavian king won't necessarily make Moldavia a free country, then says he can't wait until he's able to get up from his chair and walk out of his home. After he storms out, Galen gets up from his chair and stares smugly into space.
Picture

"How much longer to you plan on sponging off of my wife?"

Picture

"For as long as she's A-OK with me riding her gravy train."

Adam arrives at the hospital, bursts his way into Blake's hospital room, and warns the unconscious old goat not to die until after he re-includes him in his will.

Over in the penthouse boudoir, Dex is trying to get Alexis interested in some marital hanky panky, but she's too distracted by Blake's heart problems to indulge in a romp and tells him she really just wants to be left alone. Dex angrily points out that he gets far less of her attention than either of her exes - Blake and King Galen - then puts on his robe and storms out of the bedroom.

The doctor enters the waiting room to inform Rita/Krystle and Dominique that it looks like Blake is going to pull through after all. Rita/Krystle looks aghast, then catches herself and pretends to be greatly relieved by the news. The doctor explains that they've been counteracting the harmful heart medicine he was taking, and Dominique scrunches her face confusedly and says she had no idea that Blake was taking heart medication...and the doctor says that Blake's private physician also had no idea. As soon as the doctor and Dominique are out of earshot, Rita/Krystle rushes over to the nearest pay phone to inform George Hamilton that Blake has survived the poisoning, and he says the best course of action is for her to continue playing the role of the concerned wife.
Picture

"Good news! Your husband is expected to survive."

"I can't think of more troubling news."

Elena bursts into Prince Michael's office at La Mirage to inform him that her father has been imprisoned by Yuri, who's now seized full control of Moldavia. She wails about how worried she is about her pops and wonders what will become of him, and Prince Michael clucks sympathetically and gives her a comforting hug - just as Amanda enters the room and stares poutishly at the sight of the embrace. She snappishly tells her husband that she dropped by to tell him that Blake is going to be OK, then sarcastically adds, "But I see you have more important things on your mind!" before storming out.

Krystle is in her attic prison, reading Danielle Steel's Full Circle to pass the time. It's nice that she's been provided with the classics in order to pass the time. George Hamilton enters the room, announces that they're leaving for South America today, and orders her to start packing. When Krystle's all, "Wuh?", he barks at her to save her questions and start filling her suitcase.

George Hamilton finds Sammy Jo waiting for him in the main Delta Rho house. She smugly informs him that Blake is going to live, then asks what he plans to do now...and he shrugs unconcernedly and says that since older men suffer heart issues all the time, no one will ever suspect he was deliberately poisoned. When she asks what he'll do if the authorities do find out, he glares at her with his cold dead eyes and asks her how that would ever happen. Sammy Jo looks freaked out by the pure evil radiating from him and meekly assures him she won't tell anyone, and he's like, "See? There's nothing to worry about."

Sammy Jo races back to Carrington manor to hurriedly pack her things...and when Danny scampers into the room and asks what she's doing, she tells the tot she has to go away for a very long time, and that he should always remember she loves him more than anyone. She then gives him a teary hug while telling him he's the only good thing that's ever happened to her. In the next scene, she's sitting at the bottom of the staircase, surrounded by her packed bags and waiting for an airport cab when she has a series of flashbacks of Krystle's kindness to her over the years...and when Gerard tells her her taxi is here, she just stares blankly into space.

In Tulsa, Claudia is handed a letter that serves as proof that Adam, on behalf of Denver Carrington, flatly refused to consider her claim of ownership of the Blaisdel-Lankershim oil well. She phones Adam to call him out on his deception, and he reminds her once again that he currently has power of attorney at Denver Carrington and can transfer ownership of the well to her that way. He then urges her to come home, but she snappishly retorts that she has zero desire to be his "little wife" and that she's intent on reclaiming what belongs to her. The proper legal way, I guess.

Prince Michael follows Amanda to the hospital's waiting room to explain that his/Elena's hug wasn't what it looked like - but Amanda dismissively says she doesn't want an explanation and, at the moment, only cares about her father's health. Prince Michael insists that what she saw between him and Elena was a mistake, and she retorts, "The only mistake was marrying you!" and storms out of the room.

George Hamilton pays a visit to one of his shady associates to ask about getting fake passports, and the guy tells him he can do it today, but that it'll cost him a lot of dough. George Hamilton mulls that over and agrees to pay extra, then barks at the guy to hurry it up.

Rita/Krystle is sitting at Blake's bedside when he regains consciousness and finds his faux wife grinning stupidly at him. He flashes back to when she refused to help him before his stunt double tumbled down the staircase, then glares at her and growls, "You're not Krystle." Rita/Krystle looks alarmed by the truthful statement and murmurs, "You don't know what you're saying", and he says she looks exactly like his wife, but very clearly isn't. He cries, "Where is she?!" and cries out for Steven...and Rita/Krystle gets so wigged out that she flees the room.

"Where is my real wife?"

"Would you believe she's sitting in an attic, enjoying a Danielle Steel novel?"

Rita races over to Delta Rho...and when she can't find George Hamilton in the main house, she heads up to Krystle's attic prison. Krystle stares at her in bewilderment and snarls, "You..?" ... and then the two quickly step aside so that a couple of stunt doubles wearing disheveled looking blonde wigs can knock each other down and wrestle around on the floor for what seems like a really looooong time. Sammy Jo appears in the doorway and cries, "Auntie Krystle!", and when Krystle's all, "Wuh?", Sammy Jo yells, "Look out!" to alert her that Rita is about to strike her from behind with a chair. Krystle manages to deflect the attack, and Sammy Jo disables Rita by hitting her with a large suitcase, then urges Krystle to flee the attic with her.

"Take that, you! I mean, me."

Picture

"I'm no match for me, am I?"

When they fling open the outside door, they come face to face with George Hamilton, who  stares at them all sinister-like and asks, "Going somewhere, Sammy Jo?" ... and Sammy Jo and Krystle stare back at him in fearful horror.

"The Alarm"
Original airdate: 1/15/1986

Episode summary: George Hamilton orders Rita to give Blake one last, fatal dose of poison. Adam plots to seize control of Denver Carrington. King Galen and Prince Michael continue their counter-revolutionary efforts to regain the Moldavian throne.
Recap: Sammy Jo races over to Delta Rho to confront George Hamilton about the "medicine" she suspects that he and Rita have been slipping to Blake. George Hamilton pretends to know nothing 'bout that, condescendingly chides her for her "limited imagination", and tries to forcibly usher her out of the room. She shoves him away, then gets all in his face as she accuses him of screwing with her plan to withdraw her inheritance money. She reminds him that no one was supposed to get hurt and points out that Krystle was physically knocked out and that Blake is suddenly deathly ill. George Hamilton deflects from that by telling her that the three of them have been under a huge amount of stress while carrying out this ridiculous doppelgänger scheme, and urges her to not let fear be the thing that makes them to turn on each other. Sammy Jo says she knows he's been conning her, and that she's going to find out exactly what kind of dark shit has been going on, then storms out of the room clutching the bottle of "medicine".

George Hamilton enters the attic with a camera and, without explanation, starts snapping photos of Krystle. When she asks what in blazes he's doing, he tells her he needs her photo for a phony passport, which she'll need for when they flee to South America. He then stares dreamily into space and says that soon they'll be laying side-by-side on the beach together, soaking up the sun...and as Krystle stares despondently into space, he barks at her to smile pretty and snaps more photos.

"Gross."

Rita/Krystle enters Blake's bedroom as he's getting dressed. She asks him why he's not in bed, so he says he has too many things to do for the pipeline project. She motions over at the tray of food she'd brought to him earlier and remarks that he didn't touch any of it, and he snappishly tells her he's not hungry and makes it clear that he's still miffed about her horror at the prospect of ever hitting the sheets with him. Rita/Krystle insists she's trying and fibs that she made an appointment with a [non-existent] psychiatrist named Dr. Richard Cole. Blake says he's never heard of him and asks who recommended him, and she gets irked and says it's obvious he doesn't believe her...and he's like, "No duh" and says it's going to take a lot of time and effort for her to regain his trust.

Caress Morell is at the Denver Post file library, requesting every article that's ever been written about Alexis. The researcher behind the desk beams and says he's so intrigued by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter that he took time out of his life to be a courtroom spectator when she testified against Blake during the Ted Dinard manslaughter trial, and even recalls the ridiculous veiled hat/business suit ensemble she wore while on the witness stand. He then gives Caress a once over and says she looks a lot like Alexis, and Caress slyly says she's been told that many times before.

King Galen and Prince Michael are having breakfast in the penthouse and discussing how they plan to punish the revolutionary traitors once they regain the Moldavian throne. Alexis stops by the suite with the banking agreement she and Galen discussed and tells them they both need to sign it...and Galen quickly signs it and assures a skeptical looking Prince Michael that the contract is on the up and up. After Alexis rushes off to work, Prince Michael asks his father how he can promise something he's not sure he can deliver, and Galen shrugs and says that while Alexis is shrewd, he's even more shrewd and has zero concerns about possibly (likely) breaking his absurd promise to put Alexis in charge of Moldavia's entire banking system.

Sammy Jo heads to the nearest chemical lab and tells the technician she needs an analysis of exactly what's in Blake's "medicine" bottle. The technician tells her they're very busy and that it could take up to a week, and Sammy Jo snaps, "Forget busy, this is an emergency!" and pulls out her check book and says she's more than willing to bribe him to put her request at the top of his to do list.

Over at Denver Carrington, Blake is meeting with Adam and Dominique about the pipeline project...but he looks visibly faint, his vision is blurry (as evidenced by the camera zooming in on his paperwork and then unfocusing to give off the blurry effect), and he keeps losing his train of thought. Dominique says it's obvious he's under the weather and offers to take on the work of the next planning stage, and Blake agrees that she and Adam can take over the reins of this project until he's feeling better. Adam does little to hide his glee at Blake's physical deterioration and says he'll do everything possible to help move the pipeline project forward.
Picture

"I feel like I'm gonna hurl."

Picture

"Seems like the perfect time to draw up an iron-clad Power of Attorney agreement."

Adam asks his secretary to fetch a blank Power of Attorney form and let him worry about filling in the appropriate names.

Alexis bursts into Blake's office in anticipation of discussing the pipeline project with him and is startled to find a smug looking Dominique sitting in his chair. Dominique informs Alexis that Blake went home sick and that she's going to have to deal with her, then stares dreamily into space as she murmurs, "What a lovely fantasy. What a lovely truth." Alexis rolls her eyes and reminds her that she owns 25% of the South China Sea oil leases, and Dominique sassily shoots back that Denver Carrington owns 75%, half of which she owns. Alexis grumbles at her to stop being so petty and suggests they work together on the pipeline project until Blake is feeling better, to which Dominique chuckles and says, "Absolutely not." Alexis derisively says that as a lounge singer she has zero knowledge of the oil industry, then warns that she'll be looming over her shoulder...and Dominque shrugs unconcernedly and dramatically retorts, "I'm used to working with a knife in my back."

Over at ColbyCo, Adam tells Alexis that it looks like Blake has the flu - but she argues that it's prolly a lot more serious than the flu, and the two agree that Blake should be removed as head of the pipeline deal asap. Adam assures his mother she needn't worry about Dominique 'cause he plans to push her aside, then smugly declares, "Dominique may be in Blake's chair, but I'm running the show."

Blake is napping on a chair in his bedroom when Adam arrives and tells him he has some everyday, mundane business papers for him to sign. Blake's vision gets blurry again so he doesn't notice that it's a Power of Attorney form, and just meekly signs his name where Adam tells him to. Adam grins and says, "Thank you. This will do nicely."

Dominique summons Jonathan Lake to Denver Carrington to admonish him for the deposition he wrote up, which detailed the pipeline's potentially disastrous effects on the environment. She says it's full of inaccuracies and that it's been fed to the media as facts and demands a full retraction - but Jonathan insists they are facts, and that he'd rather talk about how much he adores her. Dominique shoots him a stony glare and says she's not interested in pursuing a dull-as-fuck romance with him and would prefer to get down to business.

Adam calls Claudia in her Tulsa hotel room to coo about how much he misses her and wants her to come home. She tells him she can't 'cause she's still trying to regain title to the Blaisdel/Lankershim oil well...and Adam says there's no need for that, then explains that since he just got Blake to unwittingly sign a Power of Attorney form he can transfer ownership of the well back to her. Claudia says she's not convinced he can really do that, and Adam interprets that to mean she's calling him a liar and angrily slams the phone down...which seemed like a strange overreaction, but OK.

Dex is looking over the list of expenses that King Galen has incurred while convalescing at the penthouse and scornfully remarks to Alexis that she's haemorrhaging money with the king's ongoing spending spree. Alexis says she authorized the expenses, which she insists are legitimate - but Dex just shakes his head and says that, money-wise, Moldavia is turning out to be a black hole. Alexis reminds him that he had promised to not fight with her about this anymore, and he ignores that and warns that if she continues down this path she's going to run her company and finances into the ground 'cause clearly there's no limit to how much of her cash King Galen is willing to spend. Alexis snaps at him to stop undermining her banking deal with Galen and her ability to manage her own cash, then says these days she's more focused on how to remove Blake from the pipeline project. When Dex just stares back at her and is all, "Wha-a-a-a?", she smugly says she's plotting to put herself in charge of the entire deal.

"King Galen is running up expenses and spending your money like a drunken sailor."

"That doesn't sound nearly as nefarious as me plotting to edge Blake out of his own company's pipeline deal."

Caress is seated at the La Mirage bar, chatting with the bartender who tells her that, yep, he sees Alexis come into the resort from time to time. Caress asks him if it's really true that Alexis married Cecil on his deathbed, and he grins and nods. Caress mulls that over for a few seconds and says that Alexis's deathbed marriage and her testimony during the Ted Dinard trial is somehow leading her to the bizarre conclusion that Alexis must be into necrophilia, then stares contemplatively into space while munching on a bowl of nuts. LOL.

Rita drops by Delta Rho to complain to George Hamilton that ever since Sammy Jo found Blake's "medicine", she's been glaring at her suspiciously. George Hamilton tells her to not worry 'bout that, then reminds her that poisoning Blake is her passport to stardom and that she's about to play the greatest role that has ever come her way: grieving widow. He hands her a fresh bottle of poison and instructs her to slip it to Blake and wait 'til dawn for it to take effect...and once the old goat keels over, she should wait at least ten minutes before calling an ambulance in a convincingly shrieky, panicked manner. George Hamilton undresses Rita as he talks, and assures her that this idiotic doppelgänger storyline has almost reached its conclusion - but Rita stares concernedly into space and says she's really worried they're about to get caught. George Hamilton assures her they won't, and that by this time tomorrow, Blake will have kicked the bucket.

While dining in the La Mirage dining room, Amanda expresses her annoyance to Prince Michael that Duchess Elena is in town and keeps calling him. Prince Michael explains that he and the duchess have joined forces to help King Galen regain the Moldavian throne, and Amanda's like, "I don't care. Keep the woman out of my sight" - just as Elena enters the dining room decked out in a strapless, boob-constricting pink evening gown. She heads over to their table and wanks them about being the most attractive couple in the restaurant, and Prince Michael ignores Amanda's 'keep the woman out of my sight' edict and invites Elena to join them for dinner. Elena informs Prince Michael that their key contact in Moldavia has just been captured, and Amanda rolls her eyes and snappishly tells her that she and her husband were trying to enjoy a nice dinner and that she'd appreciate it if they could discuss their counter-revolutionary efforts in the morning. Elena shoots her a bewildered seriously? look and abruptly excuses herself from the table...and Amanda follows her into the ladies room and accuses her of using the counter-revolution to get close to her husband. Elena stares back at her incredulously and says she's been humiliated by losing her homeland and having to deal with her own countrymen despising her because of her traitorous father, but Amanda dismissively calls her a liar and a hypocrite and barks, "Stay out of our lives!"

"Our entire Moldavian underground network is at risk of capture and/or death."

"Their misfortune is spoiling my appetite."

George Hamilton enters the Delta Rho attic clutching one of Krystle's red dresses and tells her it's the perfect frock for her to wear during their getaway to South America. When she perks up at the mention of South America, he snarkishly tells her she's not going to have an opportunity to escape 'cause she'll be heavily sedated before being smuggled aboard a private jet, then sinisterly says, "You can't get away from me" ... and a hopeless looking Krystle stares despondently into space.

Prince Michael and Amanda are going at it in bed when he gets an urgent call from Duchess Elena, who needs to meet with him in fifteen minutes. He informs Amanda that the counter-revolution effort is in grave danger - egads! - and that he trusts Elena, but Amanda says she's pretty sure the woman is inventing excuses to come between them. Prince Michael assures her that nothing in this world could do that, gives her a big smooch, and tells her he's off to save his homeland.

Rita/Krystle brings Blake a cup of herb tea, but he weakly tells her he's too ill to eat or drink anything and plans on seeing Dr. Tyler in the morning. Rita/Krystle insists he drink the bitter tasting tea 'cause it'll make him feel better, then lifts the cup to his mouth and forcibly pours it in.

"I feel like I'm gonna hurl."

"Seems like the perfect time to pour some poisoned tea down your trap."

Caress is breakfasting in the La Mirage dining room when she spots Alexis enter the room. She hastily puts on her sunglasses and slinks past her oblivious sister...then stares at her from across the room for a few seconds - until Adam arrives and looks bemused by her ogling. Alexis tells Adam that clearly Blake has something far worse than the flu and says she wants to know everything that goes on at Carrington manor...and that if Blake becomes too incapacitated to run the pipeline project, she'll insist he be removed and then insert herself at the helm of the operation.

Sammy Jo gets all in Rita's face and demands to know why she's been giving Blake heart medicine, then reveals that she just had the contents of his "medicine" bottle analyzed at a chemical lab. Rita admits that she and George Hamilton have been plotting to poison Blake to death so she can inherit a huge bundle of cash. Sammy Jo stares at her in horror and says she can't possibly go through with this diabolical plan, and Rita says, "It's done" and reminds Sammy Jo that she too is knee-deep in this, and that if she spills the beans to anyone, all three of them will end up in prison.

Sammy Jo races over to ColbyCo to alert Steven about Blake's impending death, and he's all, "What the hell are you talking about?", but then decides she could be telling the truth.

A deathly ill Blake is staggering down the second floor corridor, telling Rita/Krystle he has a pain in his chest and begging her to help him. She responds by backing away and descending the staircase...and he stares at her confusedly, then steps aside so his stunt double can hurl himself down the flight of stairs and land on the floor in a limp heap. A few seconds later, Steven and Sammy Jo burst into the mansion, cry, "Blake!!", and order Gerard to call an ambulance. As a panicked Steven administers CPR to his flatlining father, Sammy Jo looks upstairs and sees a freaked out Rita/Krystle peeking at them from inside one of the bedrooms.
