Kristina's toys enjoy a fun outing at the mansion tea party
Original airdate: 3/25/1987
Episode summary: Adam continues to stare sadly into space, booze it up, and do Neil McVane's bidding. Steven hits the sheets with Sammy Jo and is pretty sure he enjoyed it. Blake is concerned when Sarah gets increasingly attached to Kristina.
Over at ColbyCo, Adam barks at Neil McVane over the phone to never call him at his office again...then abruptly lowers his voice once Alexis enters his office. She hands Adam a proposed guest list for the wedding and asks him to look it over, and he breaks the news that there isn't going to be any wedding. He fibs about how her instincts about Dana were right, namely that she turned out to be an opportunist...and Alexis says if that's really true, it's better that he found this out before getting married. She adds that she really only tolerated the idea of Dana becoming her future daughter-in-law 'cause he seemed to love her so much - but if he's decided that she's the wrong woman for him, then clearly he's better off without the "small town girl with big ideas". She then gets up and flounces out, leaving Adam staring sadly into space.
A flustered looking Dana hands Blake a sales report...and when he tells her it's not the report he asked for, she miserably apologizes and says she'll go and fetch the correct one. Blake stops her and asks what's troubling her, so she tearfully tells him that she and Adam had an argument and that - poof! - the engagement is suddenly off. Blake assures her that it's totes normal for couples to quarrel - but Dana clarifies that Adam called off the wedding for reasons she can't understand or explain.
Neil runs into Alexis in the Carlton Hotel lobby and tells her he's on the ground floor of a major deal that's going to put him on top, and invites her to come in on it with him. She stares at him incredulously and snaps, "Not in your lifetime" [and somehow refrains from reminding the nut that he did, at one point, try to kill her], then strides past him...prompting Neil to mutter to himself, "That's where you're wrong, Alexis. That's where you're wrong."
Neil goes upstairs to Adam's suite and announces that he wants Trouville Industries, aka the company Alexis is currently targeting for a buyout. He orders Adam to guarantee him a piece of that action, and Adam meekly agrees and helplessly says it's not like he has any choice in the matter [despite having a clear choice in the matter due to the weak nature of Neil's blackmail attempt]. Neil suggests they go in on this deal together...and when Adam says he has zero interest in that, Neil's like, "Your loss" and orders him to keep him informed about ColbyCo's buyout. After he exits the suite, a tortured Adam guzzles yet more booze, then glares at his reflection before violently throwing his drinking glass at the mirror.
Blake tells Krystle that Adam dumped Dana, and Krystle's all, "Wuh?" and says she's sorry to hear that, 'cause - like everyone else in their orbit - she thought that Dana was a pleasant antidote to the freak's psychopathic tendencies. Blake shakes his head in puzzlement and says that the breakup makes no sense, and that he's determined to find out what's really going on with Adam by hiring a PI to follow him around and report on his activities. Krystle warns that that might not be a good idea, 'cause if Adam ever found out it could create a rift between them - but Blake's like, "I'm totes willing to take that chance" and promptly gets on the phone to hire an investigator.
"If Adam ever finds out you hired a PI to follow him, it might alienate you from the weirdo."
"It's a risk I have no problem facing the consequences for."
Dana stops by Delta Rho to return Sammy Jo's bridal shower gift...and when Sammy Jo asks her why the engagement was called off, Dana's like, "Dunno. One minute Adam loves me, the next he wants nothing to do with me." [Consider it a bullet dodged, Dana.] She scrunches her face confusedly and says, "It's as though Adam isn't Adam anymore" - just as a shirtless Steven enters the room to find a clean shirt. After that awkwardness, he quickly scampers off, prompting Dana to stare at Sammy Jo questioningly...so Sammy Jo explains that Steven is living at the ranch so they can co-parent Danny...but then admits that, yeah, she's feeling more-than-just-platonic affection stirring in her loins, which isn't being reciprocated by Steven - not that this should be a giant surprise considering he's made no secret of the fact to anyone in Denver that he's gay (sorta).
The PI checks in with Blake and tells him he's surveilling Adam from the Carlton Hotel - just as Adam walks past him and then through the lobby.
While lunching at the Carlton Hotel, Dex tells Sarah he'll ask his father to look in on her Wyoming ranch to make sure everything's OK - though hopefully she has ranch hands who are keeping the cattle and horses from starving to death - then assures her that eventually life without her family will become easier to bear. Sarah laments how alone and empty she feels - but Dex earnestly points out that there's a whole world out there to fill up her life whenever she's ready...and in the meantime, she can hang out with him.
Across town, at Nick's Big Horn Bar, Adam is once again pooching his liver by excessively boozing while he sits atop a barstool looking despondent. A brunette hooker with a comical white flower in her hair sashays over to where he's sitting, compliments his cuteness and fancy attire, and introduces herself as April. When she asks what she can call him, he replies, "It depends" ... and she looks intrigued by the mysterious stranger and asks who he is, and he says, "That's a real good question", then tells her she can call him Michael Torrence, aka A Fake and a Phony. He glances across the room and happens to notice Blake's PI sitting at a nearby table, recognizes him from the Carlton Hotel lobby, and storms over to demand to know why he's following him. The PI pretends it's purely coincidental that they're currently drinking in the same dive bar, then says he doesn't want any trouble and beats a hasty retreat. A worried looking April asks Adam if he's dangerous, pronouncing, "I don't do business with weirdos" - LOL - and Adam avoids outing himself as the confirmed weirdo he is and says he's never done business with a beautiful hooker before. He starts removing her jacket, and she coos at him to take it slow and then ushers him over to the dance floor, where he continues to get all grab handsy.
"You aren't some kind of weirdo, are you?"
"Lady, you just hit the weirdo jackpot."
The nurse weighs Kristina, who excitedly races over to Krystle and reports that she gained a whole pound. She then tells her mom that Sarah suggested she host a tea party, and lays it on thick about how much she loooooves having this new grownup friend around.
When Adam arrives late to the office, his assistant Paula tells him he missed a morning meeting and that she's growing concerned about his general slackitude. Adam snappishly tells her to cancel his appointments for the rest of the day, barking, "No calls!", then pours himself yet another drink...and when Paula buzzes a few seconds later to tell him his [ex]fiancée is on the line, he tells her to tell Dana to go pee up a rope and not call him again.
Kristina is hosting a tea party in the solarium, and in attendance are her favorite stuffed toys, Krystle, Sarah, and the principle servants. Everyone gushes over the yummy cookies she helped bake...and after a few minutes of Dynasty's biggest cuteness overload to date, Krystle declares it nap time and asks the nurse to take her daughter upstairs. Sarah and Krystle hang back to continue chatting, agreeing how lovely it is that she (Sarah) and Kristina have become fast friends...and that it's not weird at all, how visibly clingy Sarah is towards the child who now has Cathy's heart beating inside of her.
Later that afternoon, Sammy Jo tells Steven she was a bit put off that he left for work so early this morning, 'cause it made her wonder whether or not she should apologize for initiating last night's doinkfest. She tells him she found the experience "beautiful and loving" and that all day she was sooooo tempted to call him at the office to ask if he regrets what happened - but is glad she didn't 'cause she's utterly thrilled that he returned home in lieu of abandoning her. She assures him that everything is going to be A-OK and leans in for a hug, during which Steven looks noticeably uncomfortable.
Dana drops by Adam's hotel suite to return his engagement ring...and when he snappishly tells her to get lost and take the ring to the nearest pawn shop, she whimperingly asks him why he's treating her so shittily. He coldly replies that he decided he didn't want to become anyone's meal ticket, and again tells her it's over. Dana says she knows he loves her, to which he scoffs, "You're kidding yourself" ... and when Dana implores him to open up and let her help him, he tells her in no uncertain terms that he just wants her to go away. She responds by storming out of the suite, leaving Adam staring into space with a tortured look on his face.
Downstairs in the hotel lounge, Clay and Leslie are gabbling about a movie they just saw when Oscar Goldman drunkenly staggers over. He raises a glass to toast the end of Clay's marriage to Sammy Jo, then asks for an introduction to his new gal pal. Leslie introduces herself as Leslie Carrington, aka Ben Carrington's daughter, prompting Oscar to shoot Clay the stink-eye and snarl, "You just go from bad to worse, don't you?" and huffs off.
Blake returns home from work and finds Kristina hanging out with Sarah while she does a final fitting of the blue dress she's been sewing. Kristina excitedly gushes to Blake about the frock and starts to tell him that it's a replica of the one Sarah once made for her daughter - but Sarah cuts her off, hastily closes her photo albums and says she doubts that Blake wants to look at any of her old pictures. Blake begins to exit the room with Kristina, and when Kristina asks Sarah if she's coming along, Blake swiftly says, "No no...I'm sure that she has things to do", leaving Sarah staring after them with sadness etched across her face.
"Let's go spend some quality 'father-daughter' time together."
"Let me know if you want to expand that to some 'father-daughter-grieving friend' time."
Over breakfast, Leslie tells Ben she met Clay's father, who proved himself to be a hateful drunk and freaked out when he learned she's a Carrington. She asks Ben if there's anything he'd like to share with her that could explain Oscar's deep-seated anger at their family, and Ben's like, "Nope, I don't have a clue" and says he's never actually met Clay's father...then abruptly gets up and says he needs to get a jump on his busy day.
Ben heads over to the Fallmont mansion to give Oscar Goldman the what for for being such a jerk to Leslie, then implores him not to take his anger at the Carringtons out on their kids just 'cause he (Ben) screwed Emily all those years ago. Oscar Goldman makes it clear that he's nowhere near ready to forgive and forget, and that he doesn't want Clay having anything to do with Leslie. He then yells at Ben to get the hell out of his house and never come back, and Ben vows to not let him poison their kids' lives. After he leaves, Oscar Goldman gazes at a framed photo of Emily, then stares despondently into space.
A distressed Kristina tells Krystle that Sarah is packing her bags, which saddens her 'cause she doesn't want her new friend to leave. In the next scene, Krystle asks Sarah whaddup with her packing her suitcases, and Sarah tells her it's time for her to leave, and that it's doing "more harm than good", the longer she stays. Krystle sheepishly realizes that she must have overheard her earlier conversation with Blake and explains that they're merely concerned about her welfare. She begs Sarah not to leave for the wrong reasons...and Sarah chews on that for a few seconds and remarks on how good it's been for her to spend time with Kristina. When Krystle implores her to stay, she asks if they all want her to continue living at the mansion despite Blake making it pretty obvious he'd much rather she return to Wyoming and sort out her grieving issues there, and Krystle says yes and gives her a happy hug.
"We all want you to stay at the mansion...and by we all, I really just mean me and my toddler."
"That's more than enough encouragement to make me want to continue wearing out my welcome."
Mmm hmm..

Alexis and Dominique put their cat fighting impulses aside to celebrate Dana's bridal shower
Original airdate: 3/18/1987
Episode summary: Sarah finds comfort in keeping a close eye on Kristina. Clay and Leslie continue to flirt and smooch with one another while at the pipeline job site. An increasingly wigged out Adam breaks off his engagement to Dana following her bridal shower.
Adam is in his Carlton Hotel suite, dreaming of when his faux (?) grandmother adamantly insisted that he is, in fact, the long lost Adam Carrington. Adam writhes around, crying, "You lied to me!" - just as Dana enters the suite and rushes into the bedroom to see whassup with all the shrieking. She pleads with him to share with her what has him so freaked out, but he declines 'cause he's not in the mood "for a scene". Dana says she's worried sick about him and his constant boozing, implores him to not treat her this way, and reminds him that she's the woman he's about to marry. Adam snaps, "Except I'm not your husband yet! You don't own me yet!", and Dana stares back at him with a stunned, wide-eyed expression before heading towards the door. She whirls around and whimperingly reminds him that she loves him...and he gently returns her I love you, suggests they chalk this up to a lover's quarrel, and blames his hangover for his bitchitude.
Sarah tells Blake she feels a lot better than she did yesterday, in that she no longer has the strong desire to kill herself. Blake suggests she might it helpful to seek out some professional counselling asap - an excellent idea for a woman who just lost her entire family (!) - but she tells him she doesn't need therapy and nonsensically explains, "Where I come from, we handle these things ourselves." Blake's like, "Er, OK" and says again how pleased they all are to have her as their guest and tells her that if she ever wants to get out of the house and do some sightseeing, Gerard can arrange a car/driver to ferry her around town. Sarah thanks him, but declines the offer 'cause she'd much prefer to stay close to Krystle and Kristina.
Leslie is eating breakfast and chatting on the phone with Clay when Ben enters the room and remarks on the friendly conversation she just had with the playboy. Leslie asks him what he has against Clay, but Ben refuses to explain himself and says it's generally a bad idea to indulge in any hanky panky with someone she works with. Leslie doesn't buy that and asks him if his beef is really with Clay's father, and Ben insists that he's merely a jealous pa who wants to spend more time with his up-until-now estranged daughter. Leslie assures him that there's room enough in her life for both him and Clay, then changes the subject and mentions that she's planning to attend Dana's surprise bridal shower this evening.
Sarah runs into Dominique at the mansion and calls her suicide attempt a stupid mistake she's facing up to...and that she owes it to the memory of her husband and daughter to move on with her life. Dominique concurs wholeheartedly and says she's soooooo glad she's in Denver under the protective umbrella of the [dysfunctional] Carrington clan.
At Delta Rho, Sammy Jo finds Steven hanging by the fenced horse corral, watching Danny pet Valez. When Danny heads off with Valez and the groom, Sammy Jo apologizes to Steven for ambushing him last night with a smoochfest. He insists that she did nothing wrong - but she argues that she broke the rules of their 'no canoodling' bargain and vows to never ever do that again.
Alexis finds Adam drinking tomato juice (either that or a Bloody Mary) in the lounge of the Carlton Hotel. She admonishes him for skipping an important breakfast meeting, and Adam remarks on the bizarreness of a grown man even having a power meeting with his mother - right?? - then says he decided to take the day off to celebrate the new him. A bemused Alexis lets that odd remark go and asks him why in blazes he would invite a creepy pedo like Neil McVane to Dirk's cocktail party, and Adam mumbles that the pedo must have finagled his way in and weakly denies having anything to do with it. He then orders a scotch on the rocks, prompting Alexis to remark that his cranky 'tude and constant day drinking isn't like him...and Adam growls that she merely thinks she knows him well, then declares, "Well...Alexis Colby...you don't."
"I'm taking the day off to celebrate the new me."
"You're being even weirder than the generally weird guy I know you to be."
Steven stops by ColbyCo to chat with Alexis about Dana's bridal shower. Alexis tells him she's done an about-face regarding her future daughter-in-law and says she now thinks Dana is good for Adam, then expresses deep concern that something is stressing him out to the point that he's skipping work and binge-drinking. She asks Steven if he wouldn't mind trying to uncover what's going on there, and Steven looks less than thrilled by the task, but agrees to do his best.
At Denver Carrington, Blake and Dex are going over the most recent reports on the pipeline project. Dex tells Blake it's soooo nice of him and Krystle to welcome Sarah into their home, then chides himself for not recognizing the signs that she was suicidal. Blake says he's not sure how Sarah really is, since it's obvious that she's desperately trying to hold herself together. He says it might help if she spent time with an old friend and suggests that Dex drop by the mansion sometime soon to hang out with her.
Krystle has invited Sarah to go riding with her...and the two sit atop their trotting horses and talk about the first night they met: on the airstrip. Sarah says she feels as though they're sisters 'cause of all the recent pain they've had to share and endure, and Krystle concurs that indeed they do have a lot in common, to which Sarah replies, "Like our beautiful little daughters." Krystle stares back at her with kind of a weirded out expression, and an oblivious Sarah kicks her horse to get it to start galloping.
Dana meets up with Dr. Edwards at the Carlton Hotel's outdoor dining patio and tells him she gets the strong sense that he doesn't approve of her pending marriage to Adam...and Dr. Edwards chides her for the "rude and uncalled for" remark. An unfazed Dana asks him if she hit a nerve and asks him if the rumors were true about Adam having a nervous breakdown when he lived in Billings, and Dr. Edwards admits that, yeah, he might know a few less than flattering things about her betrothed - but firmly tells her he isn't going to reveal anything sickness-related 'cause of doctor-patient confidentiality...along with the fear of Adam getting some psychopath-style revenge on him for daring to open his mouth about his serious mental health issues.
"Did Adam, formerly known as Michael, ever have a nervous breakdown?"
"You're going to have to take your rude line of questioning directly to the imposter."
In the next scene, Michael has reported the conversation to Neil, who predicts that Alexis will use him until she's had enough and then spit him out. He gets a faraway look on his maniacal looking face and adds, "She did it to me once. Once! But she'll never to it to me again." Michael tells Neil that his brazen nuttiness has inspired him to want to leap head-first into whatever senseless revenge plot he has in mind...and when Neil says it's going to cost, Michael assures him that he can get his hands on plenty o' cash.
Michael makes a beeline over to Denver Carrington and tells Blake he's ready to sell him back his share of the crater - pretending as though he can't, in good conscience, stand in the way of his company extracting natural gas for the good of Colorado and the rest of the country. Blake growlingly calls him a user and says he'd love to see him crawl and beg for his money back were he not so eager to steel-toe him out of his life for good. He then agrees to buy him out for the cost of the investment, then snarls at him to get the hell out of his office.
Adam drops by Dana's office to apologize for his shitty behavior earlier...and after they hug it out, she says she really really wants to know what's bugging him, adding that Dr. Edwards also seems worried about his deteriorating mental state. Adam prickles and demands to know exactly what she and the old doctor talked about, so she assures him that Dr. Edwards kept a tight lid on whatever secrets he's harboring, to which Adam cries, "There are no secrets! Will you ever understand that?" Dana points out that clearly something is wigging him out, and whatever it is is scaring the bejeezus out of her. She implores him to share his troubles with her - but Adam once again refuses and says he doesn't want her to worry about it, then vows "to make right" all that is scaring the bejeezus out of both of them.
Sarah is reading a story to Kristina when Krystle enters the room and asks where Nurse Johnson is. Sarah just kind of shrugs and says she took a break awhile ago and hasn't been seen since. A few seconds later, Nurse Johnson returns, and Krystle asks her to step out into the hallway and reminds her that she was hired so that she could administer professional care to Kristina at any given moment. Nurse Johnson scrunches her face in a seriously? expression and points out that Kristina hadn't been left by herself, and that she was close by - downstairs in the kitchen, to be exact - and therefore easily reachable by intercom if Sarah had needed assistance. [That's kind of a fair point.] She snippily says she won't overstay her break again, to which Krystle snarls, "Please don't."
"My extended break is nothing to get your panties in a twist about.."
"I will decide how tightly my panties should get twisted as a result of your negligence."
Adam fibs his way into Neil's hotel suite at the Carlton, and is rifling through the drawers when Neil arrives. He once again refers to Adam as Mr. Torrence and smugly says that the negatives he's searching for aren't in those drawers. When Adam threatens violence, Neil informs him that his attorney is in possession of a letter that details "the truth" about Adam Carrington not really being Adam Carrington. He needles Adam further by declaring that he was never a Carrington, and Adam responds by lowering his head all hang-dog-like and dejectedly shuffling out of the suite. Incidentally, I find it puzzling and disappointing that he's so easily cowed by Neil...and not made of sterner stuff, considering the strong psychopathic tendencies he's so brazenly demonstrated over the years.
A sad looking Sarah is sitting in the study at Carrington manor when Dex enters the room, clutches her hands, and implores her to hold on. Sarah assures him that her suicidal tendencies are mostly behind her, and that she feels safe at Carrington manor. Dex invites her out to dinner, and she agrees, with the caveat that she can't promise to be the best company.
Sammy Jo runs into Alexis at the Carlton Hotel and tells her she just picked up Dana's bridal shower gift from the boutique: a slinky negligee. Alexis nosily asks her if Steven is happy shacking up with her at Delta Rho, and Sammy Jo says that Steven is happy whenever he's with Danny. Alexis follows up with a question about whether she and Steven are sharing anything more than just parental duties, and Sammy Jo firmly tells her it's none of her business. Alexis snippily decrees that Steven's happiness is always her business, then breezily says, "OK, whatever. See you at the shower!" and rushes off. LOL.
Adam is driving while guzzling booze from a flask. He races through a stop sign and nearly collides with another car, prompting a nearby police officer to turn on his siren and pull him over. He sees the flask and asks Adam to hand it over...and in the next scene, Adam is languishing in a jail cell.
While decorating Dana's apartment for the bridal shower, Dominique reflects on her failed marriage to Brady, remarking that one never knows how a marriage is going to turn out. Sammy Jo glumly mulls that over, then confides in Dominique her disappointment about her 'separate bedroom situation' with Steven. Dominique clucks sympathetically and says that the special bond parents share isn't always enough to guarantee romance...particularly when the father in the equation has come out of the closet and has made his non-hetero preferences abundantly clear. A few seconds later, Leslie arrives with the shower cake that features a kitschy looking bride and groom centerpiece.
"The special bond of parenthood may not translate to a hetero sex life - particularly if the father came out of the closet for the point of being Dynasty's primary gay character."
"Fair point."
Steven has bailed Adam out of jail, and the two are en route to the Carlton Hotel. Steven jokingly tells Adam he should consider the bailout a secret bridal shower gift to Dana.
Dr. Chadway drops by Carrington manor for a house call. He examines Kristina and quickly assures Blake and Krystle that the rash is just a minor skin irritation and nothing to worry about. When Krystle mentions that Kristina seems tired all the time, he says that that too is normal following major heart surgery. As everyone exits the bedroom, Sarah tells Krystle she'd be more than happy to watch over Kristina until they hire a new nurse, sadly remarking, "She's all that I have left of Cathy."
Over at Dana's apartment, Dominique announces to the bridal shower partygoers that Krystle had a minor issue with Kristina and isn't going to be putting in an appearance at the shower 'cause doesn't want to leave the tot alone. A few seconds later, Dana arrives home and looks happily startled when everyone yells, "Surprise!" and applauds her imminent betrothal to Adam. After glasses of champagne are passed around, Alexis proposes a toast: "To the lovely girl who is soon going to marry my handsome son." While that's happening, Adam is in his hotel suite, doing his best to sober up with a cup of coffee. Steven tells him he was more than happy to help him out today, and that he told Dana they used to always be at each other's throats and treated each other more as strangers than brothers. An alarmed looking Adam asks him what Dana said about him, and Steven chuckles and says, "Nothing too bad", prompting Adam to get up from the table and mumble that he has to go do something pronto.
Sarah tells Dex she's OK with going out to dinner - as long as the restaurant isn't too far from the mansion, 'cause she doesn't want to be away from Kristina too long [and says this as though the overly-pampered tot doesn't already have two parents and an army of servants devoted to her every comfort]. She rushes upstairs to change, leaving Dex staring after her concernedly.
Adam drunkenly staggers over to Dana's apartment and makes it clear how deeply annoyed at her he is for talking to Steven, Blake, Dr. Edwards, and "God knows who else" about his current stress levels. Dana tells him she has no idea what he's talking about - but he rails that he can no longer pretend that everything's fine between them. He coldly adds that he's not even sure if he still loves her, and that the only thing he's sure of is how smothered he feels by her and everyone else, and that he's very desperate to get away. Dana asks him if he's feeling overwhelmed by the wedding, and he looks incredulous as he snaps, "What wedding? There's not going to be any damn wedding!" and pours champagne into a teacup, then chugs it like he's a college student on spring break...while a heartbroken Dana stares back at him in horrified bewilderment.

"This may not have been one of Krystle's better ideas."
Original airdate: 3/11/1987
Episode summary: Krystle rescues Sarah Curtis from her suicide attempt and invites her to temporarily live at Carrington manor. Alexis is weirded out when she's confronted by Neil McVane at a cocktail party. Adam continues to be distressed by the possibility of not being a biological Carrington.
The Carrington manor servants stand at attention as they welcome Kristina home, and Danny shyly tells her she can play with some of his toys if she wants. Aww! Nurse Johnson, the uptight medical professional who's been hired to monitor Kristina's at home recovery, announces that the tot needs to go upstairs asap so she can rest, and Blake and Krystle concur and proceed to whisk their daughter upstairs and into bed.
Over in Wyoming, Dex drops by the Curtis ranch and finds a despondent looking Sarah in the backyard, sitting beside her daughter's sandbox. She assures Dex she's OK, and that she's mostly keeping herself busy running the ranch. He suggests she take a break from that and go to lunch with him, but she declines and says she has way too much paperwork to do...and Dex backs off and tells her to please call him if she needs anything.
Gerard tells Nurse Johnson that he and his fellow servants have planned a little welcome home party for Kristina in the kitchen once she wakes up from her nap, and adds that Mrs. Gunnerson baked her favorite cookies. Nurse Johnson haughtily retorts that the tot needs to do without the cookies, and warns that she intends to stop by the kitchen later to snootily instruct the staff to lay off the cookie baking and instead come up with a more sensible diet for her young patient.
Steven informs Blake that he and Danny moved in with Sammy Jo at the Delta Rho, hastily clarifying that they're co-habitating as parents, not ex-spouses or lovers. Blake breezily tells him he doesn't have to explain his life choices - despite his history of being insufferably judgemental to the point of manslaughtering Ted Dinard when he caught him hanging around the mansion - and says, "What you do in your life, that's your own business, son." ... and Steven somehow refrains from pointing out that that's a total contradiction to the blatantly homophobic attitude he's been demonstrating towards him for the last six seasons.
Over at ColbyCo, Dirk Maurier coos to Alexis about how much he's been enjoying getting to know Denver for the past week, and has really enjoyed getting to know her better too. He not-so-subtly hints that he's interested in initiating a buyout of ColbyCo, and she responds by staring contemplatively into space and musing about how winning isn't enough for her anymore 'cause these days she's more interested in striking a better work-life balance. Dirk smarmily argues, "Making money is like making love. It's not the result that's important, but how you get there: the challenge, the victory." He then pulls a tulip from the centrepiece atop her table and hands it to her, prompting her to sniff the petals and stare back at him in mute contemplation.
Neil McVane drops by Adam's suite at the Carlton Hotel, refers to him again as Michael, and says that the insider trading info he slipped to him days ago has netted him close to a million dollars. Adam's like, "Good! You should be satisfied with that and leave town", but Neil chucklingly says, to the contrary, he's just arrived. He orders Adam to score him an invitation to Dirk Maurier's upcoming A-list cocktail party...and when Adam argues that he definitely wouldn't fit in with the kind of rich, powerful men who will be in attendance, Neil barks at him to get him that invitation - unless he wants to go back to being Michael Torrence. He then exits the suite, leaving a tearful Adam staring despondently into space before he pours himself a drink and stares even more despondently into space.
"Why do you continue to torment me?"
"Mostly to satisfy my personal amusement."
While that's happening, Sarah is packing up her daughter's clothing and ignoring the ringing phone (as Krystle again tries, in vain, to contact her) ... then picks up a framed photo of Cathy and stares at it tearfully. Krystle, meanwhile, hangs up the phone after Sarah refuses to answer and tells Blake she's growing concerned about her wellbeing.
The next morning, Krystle summons Dex to drop by the mansion for breakfast so that she can further express her general concern about Sarah. Dex tells her he saw Sarah yesterday and that she seemed to be OK - but Krystle says she has a nagging feeling that something is very wrong, not least 'cause she can't seem to ever reach her by phone. She tells Blake she'd like to jet to Wyoming and personally check on Sarah...and when Blake argues that it may not be the best idea 'cause she could be a triggering reminder of all Sarah has lost, Krystle stubbornly insists on going so she can see for herself whether or not anything bad has happened.
Adam phones Dirk Maurier and leaves him a message to please add disgraced ex-Congressman Neil McVane to the guest list for his upcoming cocktail party. A few seconds later, Dr. Edwards drops by ColbyCo to see how Adam is doing...and Adam pretends to the doctor that he's doing fabulously, but is very very busy and can't talk long. A puzzled Dr. Edwards asks him if the Carringtons are fine with him (possibly) not being biologically related to them...and when Adam doesn't answer, he correctly guesses he didn't tell anyone about McVane's claim that he's really Michael Torrence. Adam insists that as far as Blake and Alexis are concerned, he's their son...and Dr. Edwards remarks on what a strain it must be to live this lie - but Adam insists that he's just fine, and that - in his mind - Michael Torrence doesn't even exist anymore. A few seconds later, Dana bursts into the room, recognizes Dr. Edwards from when she used to live in Billings, and invites him to join her and Adam for lunch. Adam's all, "Ack!" at that prospect and tells Dana that the good doctor has to rush off...and Dr. Edwards takes the hint and agrees that, yep, he's too busy to dine with them and needs to get going. Once he's out of hearing range, Dana chides Adam for his rudeness just now, so Adam explains that he simply wanted to have her to himself for lunch and then gives her a reassuring canoodle.
Clay and Leslie arrive by jeep to some green space near their worksite, and both stomp around with their lunches, looking cartoonishly furious with one another. Leslie accuses Clay of acting like a chauvinist, while Clay accuses Leslie of being condescending to the male fieldworkers who have been on the job for many years. The two bicker back and forth...blah blah...until they suddenly start chuckling at their idiocy, and 1) Clay admits to overreacting 'cause of "false pride" issues, while 2) Leslie concedes that she may have come on a little strong. Clay suggests that they iron out their work issues over dinner tonight, and Leslie accepts.
Blake summons Adam to his office to ask him if anything's bothering him, then explains that Dana blabbed to him that he's stressed out over something he refuses to talk about. Adam breezily replies that Dana is overreacting, most likely 'cause of the pressure of being engaged [to a psychopath] ... and Blake seems satisfied enough with that explanation, then says he has some good news: he (Blake) has put him (Adam) back into the will now that he's no longer mad at him. Adam reacts by staring spacily into the distance for a few seconds, says that this decision means a lot to him, and solemnly vows to never ever let him down again.
Krystle arrives at Sarah's house in Wyoming...and when Sarah doesn't answer the door, she wanders around the property and is alarmed when she notices smoke seeping out from under the garage door. She hastily opens the door, sees that Sarah is in the driver's seat of her car, and pulls her out of the garage. When it's pretty clear that Sarah was trying to off herself via carbon monoxide poisoning, a distressed Krystle cries, "Oh dear God!", and then, I'm assuming, calls 911 post-haste.
Later, at the local hospital, Sarah looks miffed at having survived her suicide attempt and tearfully complains to Krystle that the pain of losing her husband and child never stops, and that she can't help but want to die so she can be with them again. Krystle tut tuts her about suicide not being the answer and tries to comfort her with the nonsensical platitude: "Cathy lives in your love for her." She then invites Sarah to accompany her back to Denver and stay at Carrington manor until she's more emotionally stable, and Sarah stares mutely into space as she considers the ill-fated prospect.
"I just want to die and reunite with my family."
"I do not accept that end-of-life decision."
Adam is boozing in his office when Dana returns to happily ask him why he didn't tell her the happy news: that he was just re-inserted into Blake's will. She says she's thrilled that he's back to being a full-fledged member of the family, to which he snaps, "I'm a Carrington. I've always been a Carrington" and snarks that things are simply back to the way they should be. Dana scrunches her face confusedly and says she merely stopped in to tell him how happy she is...then shoots him a 'what the fuckity fuck's up with you?' expression as she backs up and exits the office, leaving Adam staring into space and continuing to look tortured about his lineage issues.
Later at the Carlton Hotel, Dirk Maurier's A-list cocktail party is in full swing. Dirk congratulates Adam and Dana on their engagement...and when Alexis notices Adam anxiously glancing around the room she asks him who he's looking for, so he curtly tells her he's just interested to see who's in attendance. Alexis notices the arrival of Dex and Dominique and breezily assures Dirk that she's totes OK with having to socialize with her ex-husband. A few seconds later, Dex and Dominique saunter over, and Dominique sassily concurs with Dirk that she mostly came 'cause of a "morbid curiosity" she has about his reputation as businessman who buys out other people's companies. Dirk retorts by gushing about how intrigued he is by her (non-music-related) career, which he's been following for many years. He cites her success with hotels, clubs, and her takeover of a record company, then says, "We seem to have quite a lot in common, don't we?" Alexis wastes no time clarifying to Dominique that that sassy reply was of the "tit for tat" variety, then abruptly walks off with Dirk toddling behind her.
Over at Carrington manor, Ben stops by Leslie's room to invite her for "a date with the old man" - but she has to decline 'cause she has "a date with a young man" (heh) and explains that she and Clay are going out to dinner. Ben winces and says there must be better guys out there than a womanizer like Clay Fallmont, and Leslie reminds him that she's a grown woman who's had boyfriends before, and that she's not conquered very easily. As she continues to primp for her date, Ben stares worriedly into space, no doubt contemplating the ickiness of his daughter unwittingly hitting the sheets with a guy who could be her half-brother...even though Emily was pretty adamant as she lay dying that Clay was definitely Oscar Goldman's bio son.
"It's possible I may hook up with Clay."
"If only DNA testing were widely available in 1987."
Dirk and Sammy Jo chat about her stable of Arabian horses at Delta Rho...and after she and Steven amble off to mingle elsewhere, Alexis notices Neil McVane's arrival and looks visibly rattled. She wonders aloud who in the hell would invite that creepy murdering pedophile, so Dirk tells her that Adam requested he be included on the guest list and figured 'what could go wrong with a convicted murderer mingling among my high-brow business associates?'.
Neil smarmily wanks Alexis about how stunning she looks in her frilly pink '80s gown, and she impatiently snaps, "All right" before he saunters off. Alexis then rushes towards where Adam is standing - but before she can reach him, Michael Culhane intercepts her and whines about the bitchy way she and her rich friends are ignoring him. She's like, "Whatever, loser", and shoves past him to get to Adam so she can give him the what for for inviting Neil McVane to the party. Adam tries to weakly deny doing any such thing - but then points out that it's just a party, and that since McVane has paid his debt to society, he deserves another chance. Alexis glares at him in shocked bewilderment as he hastily steers Dana towards the nearest exit.
Neil introduces himself to Michael and welcomes him to "the club", aka someone who was just cast out from the inner circle and now sits on the bleachers. Michael tells him that Alexis's dismissive treatment is none of his business - but Neil presses further by informing him that word on the street is that Alexis is doing business with Dirk Maurier. He commiserates about how shitty it feels to be in one day, out the next...and when Michael asks him what his interest is in all this, Neil's voice gets all sinister-like as he says, "Let's just say, I think it's time Alexis paid her dues." He then hands Michael his card and wanders off.
Over in Casa Waring, Dana asks Adam why he's been guzzling so much damn booze all evening, but Adam keeps mum about what's prompting him to drink so heavily. He tries to canoodle her, but she struggles against his grab-handsiness and complains, "Is this how we deal with each other? Instead of talking to me, or even sharing with me, you simply make love to me?" When Adam's like, "Well, d'yuh", Dana cries, "I don't know who you are anymore!", and Adam takes a stumbley step backwards and stares back at her with a haunted look in his bloodshot eyes.
Krystle returns to Carrington manor with Sarah, who looks less than thrilled to be living at the mansion for the foreseeable future. Blake greets her warmly and suggests they have tea in the study - and Krystle says she'll be there after she checks in on Kristina.
Sarah wanders around the study, then seats herself next to Blake on the leather sofa. He tells her she should make herself at home while she's their guest, to which she retorts that it's not actually possible, given that this isn't her home. She then apologizes for the bitchy remark and acknowledges that he's being very kind to her while she's somewhat of a basket case, and Blake mutely stares back at her with his face scrunched concernedly.
At Delta Rho, Sammy Jo primps before bed, then stares at her negligee clad slinky bod in the full length mirror. She then wanders out to the living room, where Steven is stoking the fireplace fire. She gives him a from behind canoodle, then plants a passionate smooch on his lips...and he looks into it for a few seconds before de-puckering his lips and murmuring in a chastising tone, "Sammy Jo.." She hastily apologizes for her amorous presumptuousness and beats a hasty retreat to her bedroom. Ouch.
"Sorry - but the writers finally seem firmly committed to portraying me as a consistently gay man."
"Drats."
Blake and Krystle are smooching in front of the fire and exchanging I love yous. Blech. He then tells Krystle that while he loves that she's helping Sarah, he thinks what she really needs is a professional grief counsellor - no duh - but Krystle argues that what Sarah most needs right now is their help as she emotionally recovers from her loss.
Down the hall, Sarah is hovering over Kristina as she sleeps and whispers, "Goodnight, my darling" and kisses the top of her head. She runs into Blake as she exits the room and happily tells him that Kristina is sleeping like an angel...and as she heads to her guest quarters, Blake stares after her, his face once again scrunched concernedly.

"This feels incestuous somehow."
Original airdate: 3/4/1987
Episode summary: Kristina undergoes a life-saving heart transplant. Adam is confronted with a startling claim about his identity. Leslie and Clay clash in a really TV tropey way when they meet for the first time.
Sarah apologizes to Krystle for giving her and Blake false hope, and explains that she can't go through with pulling the plug on her daughter. Krystle says she totally gets that, but doesn't want to also lose her daughter in the process, and a distressed Sarah moans, "I can't doooo this. I can't!"
Blake tells Dex that Sarah changed her mind about donating Cathy's heart - just as Krystle enters the room and tearfully acknowledges that she'd probably do the very same thing if she were in Sarah's shoes.
Sarah is sitting on a bench and feeding the birds at a nearby park when Dex wanders over. He asks her if there's anything he can do, and she crisply says that she and Cathy will be fine. Dex gently asks her if her decision to not pull the plug on Cathy, who has zero hope of improvement, is truly what's best for her daughter and if it's what Boyd would want...then half-heartedly says he'll respect her decision if it's truly a firm one. Sarah responds by staring contemplatively into space.
That evening, Neil calls Adam at ColbyCo and says he has something to show him, and Adam reacts by scrunching his face concernedly.
Back at the Medical Center, Blake is working the phones to locate another donor heart while a distraught Krystle wonders aloud what in blazes they're going to do. Blake tells her they may have to face the fact that they could lose Kristina - just as Sarah interrupts, with Dex in tow, to explain that Dex helped her see things more clearly. She tells them that she signed the papers and that the doctors will transplant Cathy's heart into Kristina first thing in the morning. Krystle looks moved by the sudden good news, and clutches Sarah's hands while staring gratefully into her eyes.
The following morning, Adam receives a package containing a knitted bootie with Adam embroidered on it...and accompanying the bootie is a note from Neil, telling him to consider this an incentive to agree to get in touch with him.
Kristina and vegetative Cathy are both wheeled to the OR...and then we get a lot of superfluous footage of the surgical team performing the heart transplant. Blake and Krystle head over to the hospital chapel to express their fervent hope for a good outcome...and a few seconds later, Steven arrives at the hospital as they're praying. As the three exit the chapel, Dr. Holland emerges from the OR and reports that the surgery went as well as can be expected - but that there's always the possibility that Kristina's body might reject the heart. He grimly adds, "The battle against rejection starts now", then tells Blake and Krystle to do their best to chillax, and they react to the tentatively good news by hugging happily.
"She survived the surgery. Now keep your fingers crossed that her body doesn't reject the new organ."
"We'll interpret that as solely good news."
The paediatric nurse reports to Krystle and Blake that Kristina's heartbeat is strong...and we see that Sarah is tearfully eavesdropping from the doorway.
Adam meets up with Alexis at the Carlton Hotel dining patio. He apologizes for skipping a meeting with a Japanese minister, then fibs that Dana has been bugging him about wanting to see his baby photos 'cause she's curious about the kidnapping. Alexis gets a poutishly troubled look on her face as she recounts how the nanny took him into town in his baby carriage, then stupidly left him unattended while she went into a store. She recalls that he had been wearing blue booties with Adam embroidered on them...and Adam suddenly looks haunted, says he's late for something or other, and beats a hasty retreat.
Leslie is driving to the pipeline trailer office for a job interview with Dex when she nearly collides with a truck while en route on the winding dirt road...and when she exits her VW convertible to give the driver the what for, we see that Clay is at the wheel. He haughtily informs her that he legally has the right of way and that she needs to back up, and she insists that he back up...and the two bicker back and forth about who should back up for whom until Leslie stomps back to her car while muttering, "What a jerk!" She then squeals around his truck and revs the car in a way that somehow causes her tires to defy the laws of physics and projectile squirt mud in Clay's face.
While hovering over Kristina as she sleeps, Blake remarks to Krystle how much the tot has been through, and Krystle says she's soooooo lucky that their baby gets a new lease on life.
Dex interviews Leslie, who apparently has an engineering degree, but no experience in the field. He tells her he's willing to sign her up as an Engineering Apprentice and assign her to one of his top guys - just as Clay (aka Mr. Top Guy) bursts in, grumbling about "the ditz" he just encountered on the road. Dex introduces him to his new assistant, and Leslie raises an eyebrow, then cheekily waves at her dismayed new boss.
Alexis invites Dana to her ColbyCo office for tea and sandwiches. Dana waxes on, as she frequently seems to do, about how much she loooooves Adam, then notices Alexis rolling her eyes and remarks on how she doesn't look very convinced about her ability to be a good wife to the psycho-nut. Alexis chucklingly explains that it's every mother's baked-in belief that no woman is ever good enough for her son, and describes Adam as "a very complex young man" she's not going to learn about by looking at old photographs. Dana scrunches her face confusedly as Alexis recaps the way she followed Adam from Montana to Colorado and was no doubt joyful when she learned that he was actually a rich Carrington heir. Dana tells her she's deeply offended by the suggestion that she's a gold-digger, vows to not let her destroy her relationship with Adam, then gets up from the table to storm out of the office.
"I've been crushing on Adam ever since I thought he was Michael Torrence."
"Then you must be as deranged as he is."
Back at the Carlton Hotel, Dana is massaging Adam's shoulders, remarking on how tense he is. She suggests they get away for the weekend to relax from the current stress of their lives...and when he snappishly says he can't, she asks him if Alexis has successfully convinced him that she's not good enough to be his wife. Adam calls that a crazy notion, declares, "I loooooooove you so much", and assures her that whatever's troubling him has nothing to do with her. Dana says she might be able to help if he were willing to open up to her, but he's like, "Nope" and promptly leaves the bed. He makes a beeline over to the phone to call Dr. Edwards and tell him he's going to be jetting to Billings pronto, 'cause there's something important they need to discuss.
The next day in Billings, Adam tells Dr. Edwards that something strange is going on - but that this strange thing isn't drug abuse or a nervous breakdown. He tells the old doctor that he neeeeeeeds to know who he really is...and when Dr. Edwards weakly retorts, "Adam Carrington..?", Adam asks him if he's truly 100% absolutely sure of that and cites his grandmother's deathbed confession. The doctor's like, "Mmm...no, I'm not sure of anything" - a contradiction to what I thought was a pretty convincing deathbed confession delivered by Grandma Torrence in the second episode of the third season:
She tells her faux grandson that she's always loved him...but, unfortunately, she's committed grave sins against him and God and must now make her peace with both of them. Michael/Adam says he doesn't believe she's a sinner, so she confesses her grave sins: she stole him from a baby carriage in Denver twenty-five years ago, then brought him to Billings and pretended to everyone that he was her grandson. She wails, "You were the Carrington baby!" but he shushes her and tells her not to upset herself with that kind of talk.
"Do you believe I'm Adam Carrington?"
"I'm going to rewrite a history that was ridiculous in the first place and go with no."
Back at Delta Rho, Sammy Jo and Steven are "camping" with Danny, aka tucked into sleeping bags and lying under the stars, discussing how rewarding it continues to be to see their son so happy. Sammy Jo assures Steven that her marriage to Clay is for sure truly 100% over, and that she loooooves the three of them being a family. Steven wonders aloud if it's fair to her, shacking up with a man who can't provide the kind of physical loving she'd be getting from a hetero partner, and she clutches his hand and assures him that that's all the physical affection she needs. The two stare happily at each other before she gives him a cheek kiss and wishes him good night.
Dana bursts into Adam's office and asks him where he's been all day, and he fibs and says he had to fly to Louisiana on business. Dana stares at him concernedly and asks him what's wrong, and he breezily tells her he's fine, then gives her the bum's rush out the door and promises to join her at home soon. After she leaves, he opens his cabinet and locks away documents, no doubt something related to the insider trading he's been [weakly] blackmailed into doing for Neil McVane.
Later, Adam meets with Neil and hands over the insider trading documents. When he demands to have the Baby Adam photo and the negative, Neil replies, "All in good time" and points out that the two of them are going to be in business for awhile. Adam snarls, "Don't push it", and a unfazed Neil wanks him for being too smart to make violent threats, then exits the office.
At the Northern California Medical Center, Blake and Krystle coo I love yous at each other when Sarah drops in to say goodbye and inform them that she's taking Cathy home for her funeral and burial. Blake says they'll never forget what she did for them, and Sarah says she's decided to cling to the silver lining of this tragedy: Cathy still lives on inside Kristina. She asks if she can look in on Kristina before she leaves, and Krystle's like, "Of course!" and offers to accompany her to the room next door.
"If there's ever a wish I can grant you, just lemme know."
"Could I get that in writing?"

"We have no choice but to appeal to the common man for help."
Original airdate: 2/25/1987
Episode summary: Blake and Krystle appeal to the nation for a donor heart in order to save their daughter's life. Alexis and Michael seek funding for their new development project. Neil McVane is given early release from prison.
Adam and Dana are canoodling in her apartment when Steven drops by to inform them of the sad development: Kristina's condition is so dire that she needs a heart transplant, and is being flown to Northern California to await a donor.
Leslie arrives at the mansion with her meagre belongings and is warmly greeted by Gerard, and then Ben, who offers to prepare a late supper for her. Leslie remarks that she doesn't want people to think she's accepting charity by living on this luxury estate, then says she plans to look for a job asap. They two head over to the solarium, where Ben whips her up a traditional Australian meal and croons a tune they used to sing together when she was a child - but the tender moment is suddenly interrupted by Gerard, who tells Ben he has an urgent phone call regarding Kristina's heart crisis.
Dex arrives at his family ranch in Wyoming with Dominique in tow, then introduces her to his father (Sam) before Sam is called away to take an important call. Dominique brings up the prospective oil field they had scouted earlier to possibly drill on and asks Dex if this is going to create a conflict between him and Alexis, and he assures her it won't now that the Lex-Dex Corporation [as well as the Alexis-Dex relationship] is officially dunzo.
Over in Beverly Hills, Alexis is at a house party in a swanky looking home, boogying with a finance bigwig named Dirk Maurier. The two exchange some flirty banter before she excuses herself and then just happens to run into Michael. He tells her he stopped by 'cause he heard that Dirk would be here, then saunters over to Dirk to wank him about his moneymaking abilities and says he'd like nothing more than to become his client - but Dirk makes it clear that he's mostly interested in doing business with Alexis.
Later, Michael reminds Alexis that they're going to have to come up with the financing for the Four Crossings development, and Alexis says she figured that's what he was talking to Dirk Maurier about, then adds that she doesn't trust the man. Michael seems unfazed by that and says he's determined to get in on whatever wealth Dirk is generating, and Alexis tells him she'll think about it.
Blake, Krystle, Kristina and the medical team arrive via jet at a medical facility in Northern California, and a nurse shows Blake and Krystle to the private quarters they'll be staying in, which are adjacent to their daughter's hospital room. A distressed Krystle natters to the nurse about how anxious and frightened she is about her tot's health situation...and the nurse, who seems far more blasé than one might expect a pediatric nurse to behave towards distraught parents, says that while she can definitely dig all of the anxiety-ridden concern she may be feeling, there's really not a helluva lot any of them can do until a healthy, compatible heart reveals itself. After the nurse saunters out of the room, Blake gives Krystle a comforting canoodle and again reminds her that Kristina needs them both to be strong.
"I was hoping you might impart some words of comfort to ease my fear and anxiety."
"You hoped wrong."
The next morning, Dr. Holland tells Blake and Krystle that Kristina is stable for the moment - but that they only have three weeks to find a heart that's small enough to fit inside her tiny chest and has a compatible blood type and tissue - plus the parents of the newly deceased child have to agree to the transplant. He warns that while Kristina remains stuck with her bum heart, her condition will continue to deteriorate...so the sooner she gets a new one the better.
Blake calls Steven to inform him of the imminent launch of Operation Broadcast to the Entire Country That a Rich Toddler Needs a Donor Heart Asap. He says that he and Krystle will be making an appeal tonight via television broadcast, and that he wants Steven to urge the wire services to tune in, and then mobilize the entire Carrington clan to take shifts manning the 1-800 phone calls.
A party is underway over at the Dexter ranch, and Dex and Sam greet all of their friends, including a married couple named Boyd and Sarah Curtis. Dex introduces them to Dominique, then prods Sarah into needlessly regaling Dominque with the story that since both he (Dex) and Boyd crushed on her in high school, they had to flip a coin to see which of them would propose - say wuh? - and Dex smarmily reminds Boyd that he was still able to score a kiss from his now-wife on their wedding day. Dex then quasi-leers at Sarah to cap off the awkward exchange that probably should have ended up on the cutting room floor during editing, 'cause yikes.
During the television broadcast, Blake sits beside Krystle and informs America that their daughter is gravely ill, holds up a photo of her, and explains that she's in desperate need of a donor heart. The Carrington clan, meanwhile, has gathered at the mansion to sadly watch the appeal, and are ready to field calls from the two phones that have been installed in the study. Sammy Jo answers the first 1-800 call, but then quickly hangs up when whoever is on the other hand mutters obscenities at her. This distresses Dana so deeply that she gets up and rushes out of the room to go pour herself a cup of coffee. When she sees that Steven has followed her, she apologizes for letting her emotions get the better of her - but he says it's totes understandable, then wanks her about what a great addition she's going to be to "the Carrington tribe". She declares how deeply she loves Adam and that it's a nice feeling to be enveloped into his rich family, and Steven credits her for smoothing out Adam's [psychotic] edges, officially welcomes her to the family, and gives her a brotherly cheek kiss.
"I'm desperately in love with Adam."
"Then you must be as deranged as he is."
Krystle assures her daughter that soon she'll be back in her own bed, and Blake concurs and promises that they'll all be going home as soon as possible. He then pulls Krystle aside and implores her to take a short break from anxiously hovering over Kristina, and Krystle reluctantly agrees to take a walk.
In the hallway, Krystle encounters a woman named Adele who says she saw her on TV the other night and thinks she might be able to help. As Krystle stares back at her quizzically, Adele offers to find her daughter a donor heart in exchange for lots o' cash, and Krystle recoils and runs away from her while crying out, "Oh God!"
Steven calls the Dexter ranch to update Dominique about Kristina's sitch. Dominique tells Dex she feels the need to rush off pronto to see if there's anything she can do to help her niece, and he's like, "Godspeed, friend."
Blake and Krystle learn that some random child just died in Seattle, but that the blood and/or tissue isn't a suitable match for Kristina.
Over at the Colorado State Prison, a cigar smoking inmate named Charlie is listening to a radio broadcast about a young member of the Carrington family needing a donor heart. He shuts off the radio and remarks to his cellmate about how the Carringtons always seem to be making news...and his cellmate - ack! - turns out to be disgraced former Congressman Neil McVane. Charlie tells Neil that since he's been such a friendly cellmate and is about to be released from the prison sooner than anyone expected, he's willing to tell him a revealing story about Adam Carrington he just happens to be in the know about...and Neil makes it clear to Charlie that he's verrrrrry interesting in hearing whatever tidbit he'd be willing to share.
"Would you be interested in a secret story about Adam Carrington that a low class guy like myself just happened to stumble across?"
"I have an insane amount of interest in any story about Adam Carrington."
Dex and his pa learn that Boyd and Sarah were just in a terrible car accident...and that Boyd was killed, while their young daughter Cathy languishes in the hospital in critical condition.
Sarah is sitting alone in the hospital's waiting room when Sam and Dex arrive. She tearfully recounts that the drunk driver in the other car came out of nowhere, and that Cathy is in a coma and likely brain-dead [though I'm guessing her heart is tip-top]. As the wheels in Dex's brain begin to turn, he and Sam discreetly discuss the possibility of Kristina getting Cathy's heart...even though it's probably not up to them - but rather whoever's in charge of the United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS) who officially coordinates this kind of stuff with America's hospitals. That said, Dex makes a beeline over to the nearest pay phone to inform Blake of the Curtis family's tragedy.
Later, Blake jets to Wyoming and arrives at the hospital for a tête-à-tête with Sarah. He introduces himself and says he fully grasps the terrible loss she just suffered, and she says she knows all about his daughter's heart issues and wanted to talk to him in person before she made any decisions. She tells Blake she doesn't want to pull the plug on Cathy 'cause she's still hopeful there's a chance she could survive, and Blake retorts by pointing out that this is probably going to be the most difficult moment they'll ever have to face in their lives, then recaps:
- She has a child with a healthy heart, but no brain function...while, ironically
- He has a child with a deteriorating heart with perfect brain function, but who will die if she doesn't get a new heart asap
He says they have a small window of opportunity to save one of them - and by one of them he means Kristina - and Sarah stares despondently into space as she silently mulls that over.
Michael arrives at Alexis's ColbyCo office - just as Alexis is chatting on the phone to Dirk Maurier about doing business together. Dirk invites Alexis to a cocktail party later in the week...and she pretends to consult her calendar before telling him she can make it. After the call, Michael makes it pissily clear to Alexis that he doesn't want to be cut out of any deal that she and Dirk secretly concoct, and warns her not to double cross him. Alexis retorts by cautioning him not to threaten her, adding that the last man who tried to choke her to death (not counting Blake at the end of the Season 6 finale) is currently serving time in prison.
Neil McVane asks a bellboy at the Carlton Hotel to give him access to Adam Carrington's suite, fibs that he's a friend of Adam and is expecting him, and offers a hefty tip...and the bellboy's like 'sure, why the hell not?' and lets him into the suite. Neil wanders around the dark room, then spots a framed photo of Alexis (donning one of her veiled hats) on the dresser. He glares at it while enjoying a flashback of the time he tried to choke her to death before Blake pulled him away from her. He vows, "No one will save you this time, Alexis", then sits down and waits for Adam to arrive.
"Next time my hands are around your neck, I won't stop until I've squeezed the life out of you."
"I'm shaking in my boots."
Blake phones Krystle to inform her that Cathy's heart tissue and blood type just happen to be compatible with Kristina's...and now that Cathy has been conveniently decreed brain-dead, Sarah has given the green light to have her transferred to Northern California.
Krystle tiptoes into her daughter's room and tells the sleeping tot that she has a chance at life.
A few hours later, Blake's private jet arrives with Blake, Sarah, and the vegetative Cathy. Blake introduces Sarah to Krystle, and the two women stare tearfully at each other before they hug...and while that's happening, Cathy is hastily loaded into the ambulance and transported into the hospital.

"Tell your wife that, in retrospect, I'm sorry for every cat fight and face smack I ever instigated."
Original airdate: 2/11/1987
Episode summary: Blake and Krystle are devastated to learn that Kristina needs a new heart in order to survive. Alexis jets to California to visit Jeff. Sammy Jo urges Steven to consider moving with Danny to Delta Rho so they can live together as a family.
Over at ColbyCo, Alexis is discussing with Michael a project he wants to partner with her on: a development named Four Crossings he thinks has unlimited potential. Alexis warily argues that the project would have years of obstacles to overcome, and Michael wankingly points out how much she thrives on major challenges...then performs a bit of reverse psychology and says that if she thinks it's too hard, he can always take the deal elsewhere. Alexis rolls her eyes and says she's not taking the bait, but then agrees to read over his report and consider investing in Four Crossings.
The Carrington clan - Steven, Dominique, Sammy Jo, and Adam - gather at the hospital to get the latest update on Kristina. Blake fills them in about her bum heart, then says that since there's really nothing any of them can do here, they should just disperse and go about their lives. He pulls Steven aside and asks him if he wouldn't mind filling in for him at Denver Carrington...and Adam overhears that and says he too would like to help in anyway he can, and Blake takes him up on the offer and remarks on how nice it is to have two sons he can depend on.
Blake and Krystle hover anxiously over their unconscious daughter and assure her that the two of them will be by her side every minute and that she's going to be A-OK.
A distressed looking Danny tells his parents he loves Kristina and doesn't want her to die, and Sammy Jo emphasizes that people go to the hospital to get better, while the inherently glum Steven says he can't promise that Kristina will be OK since everyone dies at some point. Sammy Jo balances that unhelpful dose of reality by hugging her son and assuring him that death isn't likely to befall any of them for a long, long time. She then stands up and says she should prolly be going now - but both Danny and Steven plead with her to stay and have sandwiches with them.
The doctor tells Blake and Krystle that they're going to keep a close watch on Kristina tonight, 'cause her ability to stay alive for the next several hours could be a critical test of her overall chance of survival. He adds that if her EKG improves and her lungs clear out, they can conduct more testing and come up with a firm diagnosis...then urges the two of them to get some rest, 'cause right now there's not a helluva lot they can do for their tiny daughter.
"Let's hope she survives long enough to see another day."
"Is there any possible way you could be far more optimistic?"
Back at the hospital, Blake finds Adam and Dana in the waiting room. He congratulates them on their speedy engagement, warmly calls Dana one of his most favorite people in the world, and urges them to forge ahead with their wedding plans 'cause he's so hopeful that Kristina is going to fully recover from her heart problems. While exiting the hospital, Dana reverently describes Blake as "quite a man", then complains that Alexis, on the other hand, hasn't bothered to phone her to welcome her into the family. She adds that she's worried Alexis is stalling for time so she can split them up, then suggests to Adam that they sneak off somewhere and wed. Adam assures her that Alexis is totes on board with their marriage, and that it means a lot to him to get married in Carrington manor, aka the house he was born in (prior to his decades long kidnapping). On top of that, he really wouldn't have the stones to tell his mother he's eloping, 'cause she's super excited about planning the wedding.
Sammy Jo cuddles a sleeping Danny and remarks to Steven that if their son were going through anything like what Kristina's facing, she'd be a total basket case. After carrying the imp off to bed, she takes Steven up on his invitation to once again spent the night at his apartment...and after she ambles off to the bedroom, Steven opens a bible and murmurs, "Dear God...Kristina has so much love here. Don't take her. Pleeeeeeease let her live."
Dex and Dominique are having drinks in the Carlton Hotel lounge and expressing their deepest sympathies regarding what Blake and Krystle are going through. A few seconds later, Alexis arrives with Michael in tow...and she snidely remarks, "This may not be as private, but it certainly beats the trailer. Doesn't it, Dominique?" ... and says this as though she herself hasn't hit the sheets with Dex inside at least two trailer offices. Dominique warns her not to mess with her tonight...and when Alexis is all, "Why not tonight? It looks like a repeat of all your other nights", Dex and Dominique solemnly inform her about Kristina being rushed to the hospital because of a heart problem. Alexis scrunches her face concernedly and breathily retorts, "Oh God...Blake must be in agony" and says she's off to the hospital to comfort her ex-husband.
"Turns out Kristina has a bum heart."
"I must rush to the hospital to express my poutish concern to Blake asap."
Alexis returns home to the Carlton Hotel, summons Adam, and tells him she's leaving him in charge of ColbyCo while she jets off to California to visit with Fallon, Jeff, and their new baby.
Ben arrives at the hospital, pokes his head into Kristina's room, then quietly backs out when he sees Blake and Krystle hovering over their ill tot. Leslie arrives soon after...and after she pokes her head into the room, she agrees that Blake and Krystle probably need their privacy. Ben urges her to consider moving into Carrington manor and coos at her to not be afraid of growing to love him again, and Leslie looks as though she's mulling over the prospect.
Clay calls Delta Rho and learns that Sammy Jo has been gone all night. He leaves a message that he's going to be dropping by later...for what purpose at this point, who the hell knows?
After sleeping in, Sammy Jo ambles into the dining area of Steven's apartment to find him and Danny eating breakfast. Danny asks if he can skip preschool to ride atop his favorite horse, Valez, and Sammy Jo says she'll allow the groom to let him ride while he exercises the horse. A contented looking Steven remarks on how much he likes it when they spend time together as a family, and Sammy Jo suggests that instead of relying upon a crisis to bring them closer, they take the leap and move in together. Steven tries to subtly remind her that he's not about to change his non-hetero genitalia preferences and that she needs a man who can please her in the sack - but Sammy Jo insists that all she cares about right now is the happiness of their family and urges him again to consider moving in with her at Delta Rho.
"Let's shack up together."
"OK - but no romantic lovin' 'cause, for the moment, the writers still seem interested in depicting me as a gay man."
In Malibu, Alexis and Jeff are lunching at a beachside restaurant when Michael suddenly approaches their table. He tells a bewildered looking Alexis that he learned from someone in her office that she's spending a few days in California, so he thought 'why not be a stalker freak and catch the next plane out and then check myself into the same hotel she's staying in in case she's under the illusion that she needs me?' Alexis curtly tells him she has her family here and likely won't need him...and after Michael saunters off and is safely out of hearing range, Jeff urges his mother-in-law to steer clear of that charlatan 'cause he's bad news, not to mention extraordinarily icky for avidly trying to bone two generations of female Carringtons.
The doctor informs Blake and Krystle that since the results of Kristina's EKG weren't promising, she's going to have to undergo a heart biopsy so that they can examine a sample of her heart muscle and figure out whassup. When the doctor gently tells Krystle that it'd be better if she weren't there 'cause of how tearfully freaked out she's been for the last day or so, she insists on comforting her child during the procedure, and Blake gently concurs.
As the biopsy gets underway, Krystle and Blake hover over their tot and assure her she'll be A-OK...and Kristina smiles happily throughout the procedure and follows the doctors' instructions perfectly. She's a cute little gaffer, I'll give her that.
Back in Malibu, Alexis admits to Jeff that she craves a warm, loving partnership and fears ending up alone. Jeff reminds her that she has four children (and a son-in-law!) who love her, and that she's super successful and smart...then cheekily adds that she's also pretty cute [for a middle-aged gal who seems intent on aging herself with her over-coiffed curly hairdos, thick layer of makeup, and stiff looking designer-wear].
At Delta Rho, Danny excitedly tells Steven he got to ride atop Valez...and Steven cuddles him and asks him if he'd like to relocate to the ranch - just as Clay enters the room. After Danny is discreetly sent out of the room for a made up errand, Clay snarks, "You don't waste any time, do you?" Steven says that since Danny needs as much parental coddling as he and Sammy Jo can muster, he and his son relocating to Delta Rho makes the most logistical sense. Clay accuses him of using his son to take Sammy Jo away from him, and Steven reminds him that he was the one who turned his back on Sammy Jo when she needed him. Clay shoots back that all he can offer the skanklet is promises he can't keep - just as Sammy Jo enters the room and asks what in blazes is going on. When Clay tells her he just stopped by to pick up his things, she says she'll have them packed and delivered to him...and he snarlingly warns, "OK - but if you think this is going to work out, you are headed for disaster."
Krystle tells Kristina that she was very brave during the biopsy, and Blake agrees and says they're all very impressed with how she smilingly endured the procedure. Kristina beams happily and tells her mommy and goat daddy she loves them - just as the doctor interjects to summon Blake and Krystle to his office for a bleak update.
"Don't worry, mama. I'm far too cute to perish on network TV."
"That's what I'm counting on, darling."

"I can't wait to become Mrs. Psychopath."
Original airdate: 2/4/1987
Episode summary: Adam proposes to Dana and gets an enthusiastic yes. Alexis catches Dex and Dominique hugging and assumes they're hitting the sheets. Kristina is rushed to the hospital when she suffers symptoms of heart disease.
Blake drops by ColbyCo to return Alexis's portrait painting 'cause Krystle would prefer that her art not be on display anywhere inside the mansion. Alexis agrees to keep it, with the open invitation that he's welcome to come by and view the painting whenever he wants.
Sammy Jo is pleasantly surprised to see Steven waiting for her at Delta Rho. He apologizes for punching Clay at the nightclub and sheepishly admits that he (Clay) had every right to be mad about him trying to meddle in their marriage. Sammy Jo argues that she's allowed to dance with whoever she wants - especially now that Clay has signed the annulment papers. She insists to Steven that she's totes happy, and that the only life she cares about is the one they share with their son.
Over at the Carlton Hotel, Leslie is packing her things when Blake drops by. He explains that he managed to find her by taking Ben's advice: calling every Denver hotel and asking for Melissa Saunders (aka Leslie's mom's name). Leslie curtly retorts that she's leaving Denver 'cause she did what she came here to do, then rails about what a liar Ben is and asks if he (Blake) came here to convince her to stick around 'cause he (Ben) conned him into interfering. Blake denies that and says that he just wants her to re-connect with her father, then tells her he went through some heavy stuff with his own spoiled brat daughter (Fallon) ... but when they finally resolved their issues, they discovered that there was lots of love between them. Leslie suddenly looks contrite and apologizes for her snappishness just now...and Blake invites her to come by the mansion for dinner sometime soon so she can start to get to know her father again, and she stares mutely into space and looks as though she might be open to the prospect.
"If you play your cards right, you could become an accepted member of the Carrington brood."
"Oh joy."
Adam sneaks into Dana's apartment, knocking over a vase in the process. Dana rushes into the living room to see whassup, then irritably orders Adam to leave, making it clear that she's still annoyed with him for not being willing to share his life's problems with her. Adam ignores her complaining, hits play on a tape player for some romantic background music and invites her to dance. As Dana continues to grumble about not wanting to be his little plaything no 'mo, he mutters a marriage proposal...and she's all, "Yessssss!" before the two happily hug, exchange I love yous, and smooch. Ick, Dana. Ick.
The next day, Adam meets up with Alexis at the Carlton Hotel restaurant and announces his engagement to Dana. Alexis looks surprisingly pleased by the news, not least 'cause she too once fell in love extremely quickly: with Blake at first sight. That said, she urges Adam to use the engagement period get to know Dana better, warns that marrying a male Carrington douchebag can be a lot for some women to stomach, then offers to throw them an extravagant wedding.
Dominique arrives at the pipeline worksite, is warmly greeted by Nick Kimball, then gets her first look at the new rig (named Dominique 1) in action. She says she'd looooove to see this entire area filled with rigs and wanks Nick about how he has the brains to know exactly where to drill. Nick tells her that simultaneous drilling takes a whole lot o' cash...and when Dominique offers to finance multiple rigs, he firmly declines to take her money. [Not sure why they're having this conversation, since Nick is just the foreman of an oil rig venture that, I would assume, is being funded with Carrington Denver money.] Dominique haughtily asks if he's refusing to take her money 'cause she didn't go to bed with him the other day...and the two continue to bicker nonsensically until Dominique snaps, "Grow up!" as she climbs into her fancy Mercedes and motors away. Sounds like these two are knee deep in the TV tropey 'I hate you!' phase before they invariably decide 'Wait a sec - I actually love you!' and fall into bed together.
Alexis bursts into Blake's office and says she has some good news to share - but he beats her to the punch and says he already heard that Adam and Dana are engaged and, frankly, could not be more delighted. Alexis says she'd like to plan the wedding of the century and hold it at Carrington manor and hopes that Krystle won't object to her milking the role of Mother of the Groom role as long and as hard as humanly possible...and Blake promises to talk it over with her and is certain that she'll be totes fine with it.
"I'm going to get every ounce of enjoyment from being mother of the groom."
"I'm sure that Krystle will be thrilled."
Dex squeals off in his car and encounters Dominique, who's stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire. He pulls over and teases her about what a good job she's doing changing her tire...and the two chuckle as he gets down to the business of chivalrously doing the task for her.
Later, Alexis attempts to contact Dex in his trailer office, but no one's there to answer. She then buzzes her assistant and instructs him to bring her a copy of the Lex-Dex agreement so that she can rashly cut all ties with Dex.
Over in a local watering hole, Dominque commiserates to Dex about how alone she feels lately, and that she has no idea who Private Dominique is, in contrast to Public Dominique ... [though I can only assume that both are equal parts bore]. She moans that the fortune she's earned means nothing 'cause of how empty her life is, and Dex agrees that when one loses out on love, one loses everything...and Dominique chews on that depressing pearl of wisdom as the two stare despondently into space.
After what was largely a conciliatory dinner hosted for Ben and Leslie at the mansion, Krystle ushers Leslie over to Kristina's room to introduce her to the tot. When Kristina fails to act like her usual cute, polite self, Krystle concernedly remarks on how much more tired than usual she seems.
Leslie heads over to the study...and Blake excuses himself so that she and Ben can have a private conversation. Ben tells Leslie she looks so much like her mom, and Leslie snappishly rejoins that her mom hated him until her last breath, then chides him again for being a deadbeat dad and shitty husband. Ben absorbs the insults, then pulls out a photograph he carries around with him: a shot of Leslie at age twelve...and Leslie softens as she recalls the day he took that photo. She asks him why he never tried to reach her in recent years, and he insists that he did - but that her mother was always one step ahead of him in hiding their location.
Dex and Dominique are hanging in the pipeline trailer office, wanking each other about how warm, appealing, and attractive the other is. They both agree that Dex is not the kind of guy who would sleep with a platonic friend in order to get back at Alexis, and he tells her if she ever needs a friend she shouldn't hesitate to call him. The two seal their friendship with a non-sexual hug - just as Alexis enters the office to haughtily declare to Dex that the Lex-Dex partnership is officially dunzo...but when she sees the hug, she stares at the two of them in shocked bewilderment. She glares at Dominique and snarls, "From lounge lizard to trailer tramp - now I have seen everything!", then throws the Lex-Dex papers onto the floor and storms out of the trailer office in a dramatic huff.
"You hugged like lovers just now."
"Or like platonic friends who just mutually agreed that it'd be in poor taste to ever hit the sheets together."
In the next scene, Kristina eagerly opens Leslie's gift and squeals happily at the sight of a fluffy teddy bear. Leslie gives her some tips on how best to love, hug, and kiss her new bear...and then Krystle urges the tot back into bed so that she can meet her daily nap requirement. After that, Krystle and Leslie tiptoe out into the hall, and Krystle invites Leslie to move into the mansion to give herself the opportunity to be around her father more so they can get to know each other, and Leslie promises to think about it.
Krystle and Blake stare concernedly at Kristina while she sleeps...and a few seconds later, she wakes up and gabbles excitedly about her birthday party. After a few seconds she starts to cough and complain that she can't breathe, and an alarmed Blake picks her up to rush her downstairs and barks at Krystle to call an ambulance, stat.
In the next scene, the ER doctor scrunches her face concernedly as she places a stethoscope on Kristina's chest in order to assess her heartbeat. She tells Krystle and Blake that the tot is going to have to remain in the hospital for further testing 'cause it's clear that her heart is pooched in some way. When Kristina starts to look anxious, Blake comforts her by telling her she'll have two birthday parties: one in her hospital room, one at home when she's feeling better.
"Yeesh. That doesn't sound right."
"We'd prefer you sugar coat any bad news you may have."
Blake brings a balloon bouquet to Kristina's hospital room, along with a special gift: a rocking horse. As she cackles happily, Mrs. Gunnerson and Gerard surprise her with a cake, and they all sing the Happy Birthday song.
Michael runs into Leslie in the Carlton Hotel lounge and models the brand new suit he was forced to buy when she dumped his other one in a laundry hamper as revenge for his misdeeds in Alberta. She wryly tells him he deserves a lot more than that...and he points out that "revenge can only go so far" and invites her upstairs for a romp. She shrugs disinterestedly, then abruptly says good night, smirkingly warning him to take care of his new suit. On her way out, she hands him the bill for her drink and sassily says he can settle that for her too.
Kristina wakes up in the middle of the night and stares excitedly at her new rocking horse. She quietly climbs out of bed and sits atop the wooden horse and begins rocking...then suddenly looks as though she can't breathe. Her rocking gets frantically more intense, and the weird camera angle makes her look as though she's struggling to remain atop a bucking bronco, as she calls out to her parents before slumping over. Krystle and Blake wake up with alarm, rush over to cradle her in their arms...and then Blake runs out of the room to summon a doctor while Krystle desperately shrieks, "Somebody help me!!"

Blake and Krystle decide where best to display Alexis's masterpiece
Original airdate: 1/28/1987
Episode summary: Blake invites Ben to reside at Carrington manor. Clay gets jealous when he sees how close Steven and Sammy Jo are getting. Leslie confronts Ben about being a deadbeat dad.
Back in Singapore, Alexis is putting the finishing touches on her Blake portrait when Dex enters the villa. He looks less than thrilled by the subject of her painting and coldly informs her that he met up with Blake last night at the hotel, who told him everything that happened after the rig blew up, and seems totally fine now that he's reunited with his wife. He shoots Alexis an incredulous stink-eye and rails, "What the hell were you trying to accomplish?!", so Alexis "explains" that her goals weren't...
- To manipulate Blake into signing the Assignment of Leases document, [which she stupidly tore up] ... even though she told Adam that a situation just happened to fall into her lap that might make it possible to get back 50% ownership of the leases
- To seduce Blake ... even though it was ickily clear by all her 'being in Singapore feels like a second honeymoon, darling!' talk that she totally would have welcomed goat daddy into her bed if his subconscious had allowed it
Dex asks exactly what she and Blake did together while they were holed up in this luxurious villa for several days, so she stares dreamily into space and recalls how they talked, laughed, danced, and reminisced...then poutishly adds in a passionately breathy sounding voice that she truly enjoyed revisiting a time of her life when she was most sensitive to her own feelings and able to love more easily. A vexed Dex is like, "Seriously?" and whines about how he interrupted his busy life as a pipeline foreman to waste five days and nights desperately trying to track her down, then wonders aloud if she gives even the tiniest of rat's asses about him. Alexis gets all prickly-defensive as she apologizes for the inconvenience she unwittingly caused him, weakly assures him that she sorta/kinda does care for him, then accuses him of always being jealous of Blake. She barks at him to get out so that she can finish the portrait of her beloved, and he responds by knocking over her tray of paints and brushes before bellowing, "Finish it!" Once he's safely out of earshot, Alexis rings up her house servant Kai and asks him to book her a plane ticket to Denver asap.
"Blake's memory loss gave me the opportunity to revert back to the vulnerable, delicate young flower I once was."
"How sweet. By the way, I wasted five days of my life searching for you."
Blake enters Ben's hospital room to thank him for helping him escape the exploding rig. Ben says he realized he could have easily let him die - but figured he should prolly start making up for all the terrible shit he's done to him ever since returning to Denver. Blake says that while he's not totally ready to forgive him for all of his wretched misdeeds, he'd like him to return with him and Krystle to Denver and stay at the mansion until the writers can decide what in blazes they're going to do with this now contrite and largely superfluous character for the rest of Season 7.
The next morning, Steven tells Sammy Jo that Danny was sooooo happy this morning when he took him to school, and that he's been loving all of the mommy-son time the two of them have been getting.
Back at Delta Rho, Clay is angrily pacing the living room when Sammy Jo returns. He demands to know where she's been all night, so she tells him she spent the night at Steven's apartment, mostly to be near Danny. Clay huffily whines that he waited up for her all night 'cause he wants to convince her to nix the annulment idea - but she makes it clear that they're definitely absolutely 100% through. Clay bitchily insinuates that she's fallen back in love with Steven...and when she insists that that's ridiculous, he counters, "Oh, I think it's on the button" and that she really should consider how wise it is to jump into a relationship with a non-hetero guy and where she thinks that baffling kind of decision-making is going to get her.
Back in Hong Kong, Blake and Krystle are in their luxury hotel suite, smooching on the rug in front of the fireplace and cooing about how much they looooove each other. He informs her that he invited Ben to return with them to Denver and stay at the mansion, reminding a skeptical looking Krystle that the scoundrel risked his life in order to save him. Krystle says she can't just forget all the terrible things he's done since coming to Denver, but Blake insists that he really really wants to work towards restoring their brotherly love. Krystle says she's fine with that, as long as he exercises caution...and then the two continue with their nauseatingly love-dove-ish smoochfest.
The following day, Blake, Krystle, and Ben return to Carrington manor...and Blake asks Gerard to please prepare a room for Ben. Kristina runs over excitedly, and the three coo over her cuteness until Blake scoops her up and carries her upstairs. Ben takes the opportunity to assure Krystle that he's grateful to Blake for welcoming him into his home and that the only thing on his agenda is showing the two of them how much he appreciates their kindness. Krystle promises to keep an open mind while also remaining cautious about his motives.
Alexis drops by Blake's office decked out in a fantastic, flouncy white fur coat and expresses concern about Amanda, who she hasn't talked to since before the rig explosion/Singapore re-honeymoon. Blake says he also hasn't been able to reach her...and that if she remains incommunicado for much longer, he has a mind to storm over to the remote island [she and Michael are purportedly doinking on all day and all night] to see whassup. Alexis says she thinks that's a fine idea, then asks him if the headaches he had during their Singapore vacay have gotten any better, and he tells her they've definitely improved, and that he's grateful to her for helping him relax and recuperate after the rig explosion. Alexis says she has zero regrets about creepily orchestrating a situation in which the two of them remained holed up together so she could pretend as though they were a husband and wife from the 1960s, and he thanks her for eventually telling him the truth about his marriage to Krystle...despite that by the time she told him the truth, the jig was pretty much up. She says she should probably be going now, and he walks her out...and both begin chuckling about the time the maid in Singapore cooked them a horrible "American" meal - just as Krystle exits the elevator and looks visibly dismayed by their playful banter.
"Have you heard from Amanda lately?"
"Who?"
Dominique is teaching Kristina to play the piano while Krystle lovingly looks on, when Gerard enters the room to inform Krystle that she just received a package. Krystle excitedly unwraps it, but then is deflated when she sees that it's the Blake portrait Alexis painted while the two of them were in Singapore. Dominique stares at it incredulously and says it's clear that Blake willingly posed for the rendering, then says she can't help but strongly suspect Alexis of wanting to come between them and shake up their marriage. Krystle tries to breezily insist, "It's just a portrait" - but then contorts her face into a worried expression as she stares concernedly into space.
Michael Culhane bursts into Blake's office and demands to know where Amanda is, then waves around two goodbye letters (one for Blake) that Amanda left behind before abruptly getting axed by the producers - I mean "fleeing to London" and asking that no one follow her. A bemused Blake reads Amanda's note, in which she complains about being forced to choose between her father and her boyfriend. Blake says it's entirely plausible that she fled to London 'cause she has relatives there [and supposedly grew up there despite not having a British accent like Catherine Oxenberg]. Michael barks at Blake to get her to come back asap, so Blake picks up the phone to ask his secretary to track down Alexis asap, then yells at Michael to get the hell out of his office. Michael snarls, "You'll be hearing from me!" before storming out.
Alexis drops by Delta Rho to 1) mock the art that Sammy Jo is in the process of hanging on her walls and 2) warn her not to screw with Steven or Danny. A few seconds later, she gets an urgent call on Sammy Jo's line from Blake's office with the latest tidbit on What Ever Happened to Recast Amanda?
Alexis rushes back to Denver Carrington and tells Blake that her cousin Rosalind (who raised Amanda) would likely know where their daughter is, but Blake says he already called Rosalind, and it wasn't a fruitful conversation 'cause she promised Amanda she wouldn't say anything to anyone about her whereabouts. Alexis suggests they hire a private investigator to suss her out - but Blake says it's a bad idea, 'cause it might anger her to the point that they'll lose her forever. He suggests they leave her alone until she's ready to re-enter their lives, and this is the last we ever hear of Amanda Carrington.
Adam meets up with Leslie on the outdoor dining patio of the Carlton Hotel, and she tells him she was jazzed to learn that Ben is currently living in Denver and that the two of them are cousins. She admits she's pretty nervous about seeing her father again and asks Adam if all the nasty stories about him are true. Adam says he's not the best person to ask, not least 'cause he hates Ben with the intensity of a thousand suns, but then diplomatically says that the business world is full of mistakes and jealousies. He assures Leslie that Ben will be overjoyed to see his only daughter, then asks her if she knows anyone else in Denver. She tells him she used to work for Dex Dexter in Alberta at the time he had a run-in with a jerk named Michael Culhane...and looks less than pleased when Adam tells her that the unscrupulous Don Juan is back in Denver.
"So...tell me about my dad."
"He's a hateful jerk, much like every other Carrington male."
Alexis stops by Blake's office for the third time this episode to drop off the pills he was taking in Singapore for his headaches. She runs into Krystle, who haughtily informs her that Blake has already been prescribed updated pills from his Denver doctor, so they don't need her pills and/or her stupid portrait painting. Alexis smugly wonders if she's most upset about the fact that she and Blake were in isolation together for several days, leaving her wondering if anything happened between the two of them. She needles Krystle further by urging her to silently ponder, "Did Blake and I make love? And was it better with me than with you?" then shoots Krystle a mischievous grin before sashaying out of the office. Hee!
Steven drops by Delta Rho to suggest to Sammy Jo that they have dinner together tonight, then leave Danny with a sitter so they can enjoy a night out on the town. Sammy Jo beams happily and says that she definitely likes the sound of that idea.
Blake calls Krystle to tell her he's busy catching up on work and will be home later. Krystle assures him it's no problem and offers to hold supper for him, suggesting that they enjoy an informal meal in the kitchen...but after hanging up, she once again stares concernedly into space.
Leslie spots Michael drinking in the hotel bar and saunters over to him. She assures him she doesn't hold a grudge against him for the time he used her to screw with Dex in Alberta, then invites him to join her in her suite for a drink. Michael perks up at that prospect - I guess this means he's suddenly over Amanda - and in the next scene, the two are smooching intensely while Leslie peels off his clothes. When she suggests they take a sexy shower like they used to in Alberta, Michael says he's definitely into it and hastily gets all the way naked and excitedly bounds over to the bathroom. LOL. Leslie proceeds to gather up his clothes before exiting the suite and depositing the clothing in the laundry hamper part of the chamber maid's cart. A few seconds later, Michael emerges from the bathroom looking for Leslie, and is dismayed to see that neither she nor his clothes are anywhere to be found. He irritably calls the concierge and barks at him to open the boutique pronto so that he isn't forced to walk around the hotel naked.
Sammy Jo and Steven are dancing the night away at a lively nightclub - when Clay happens to show up, watches them boogie for a few seconds, and sourly asks if they're having fun. He angrily informs Steven that Sammy Jo just asked him for an annulment, then accuses him of using Danny to worm his way back into her life. He fumes, "The ironic thing is, you're not even a man!", a homophobic slur Steven reacts to by punching him in the face. Clay reacts to the face punch by lunging at him...and the two exchange blows until a bouncer physically separates them. Sammy Jo snarlingly tells Clay that she can take care of herself - but Clay insists she needs him and that he's refusing to let her go.
"You're not a man - you're a gay'."
"Who has a fist!"
Blake ambles over to one of the sitting rooms to see whassup with Krystle, who's staring unhappily at the portrait Alexis painted. Blake tut tuts Alexis for sending that thing over here, but then remarks on what a nice piece of art it is. Krystle agrees that it is pretty good, and that she'd be petty if she demanded it be removed from the premises just 'cause Alexis is the artist. Blake concurs, then asks her if there's something else that's troubling her, e.g. the uncertainty of whatever icky carnal acts may have occurred between himself and Alexis while they were playing house in Singapore for five long days. He assures her that there was no new spark of interest nor was there any sex, 'cause she was always in her heart, even if just subconsciously. Krystle tears up with relief, thanks him for clearing up that source of blechy unease, and presses herself against him in a hug.

Alexis spends her down time practicing her painting skills
Original airdate: 1/21/1987
Episode summary: Krystle hires a PI to locate the villa Alexis rented in Singapore and is reunited with Blake. Dominique is attacked by Gary Tilden's goons. Sammy Jo tells Clay she wants an annulment asap.
- He wasn't seriously injured [aside from believing it's 1964]
- He was released from the hospital two days ago
The clerk suggests she talk to Dr. Chen, aka the physician who treated Blake, and adds that he'll be on duty later in the day. A few seconds later, Dex arrives at the hospital and informs Krystle he learned that just after the rig explosion, Alexis was rescued from the sea uninjured and brought ashore...and both agree it's extremely puzzling that neither Blake nor Alexis has gotten in touch with either of them.
Across town, Alexis and Blake are strolling along the grounds of the villa, reminiscing about how much this luxury property reminds them of where they honeymooned. Alexis likens this sojourn to a second honeymoon...and when Blake laments his inability to remember their lives together after 1964, she breezily assures him that eventually his memory loss will sort itself out...and, in the meantime, she'd like to spend some of her leisure time painting a portrait of his wrinkly mug.
Steven drops by Sammy Jo's hospital room to deliver a get well poster from Danny...and as Sammy Jo gushes about how thoughtful their son is, Steven points out that his drawings have been looking progressively happier since all the mommy-son time he's been allowed to have lately. Steven asks her how the fetus is doing, so she admits that she had been mistaken about being with child, and says that Clay reacted to that news by accusing her of deceiving him in order to force him into a marriage proposal. Steven clutches her hand and assures her that everything's going to be OK...and that, despite all the repeated nastiness they've lobbed at each other over the years, he strongly feels that they're suddenly able to enjoy a copacetic co-parenting relationship.
Krystle manages to get a few minutes with Dr. Chen to ask him where he thinks Blake might have wandered off to, so he tells her that Blake and Mrs. Carrington left the hospital together a couple of days ago. When Krystle's all, "Say wha-a-a-a?", he tells her he's too busy to play detective on her behalf - but that she should check the hospital register if she wants more information. In the next scene, Krystle meets up with Dex and tells him that, according to the hospital register, it was Alexis who signed Blake out...and both continue to agree that it's very uncharacteristic of their respective lovers to remain incommunicado for so long.
Alexis is decked out in a white frilly off-the-shoulder peasant blouse as she cooks up a storm in the villa's kitchen. She happily tells Blake how much she enjoys the simple things in life, e.g. cooking a meal for her beloved husband. Blake grins in response, gives her a kiss and a canoodle, then curses whatever forces inside his brain are continuing to prevent him from letting loose and hitting the sheets with his "wife". Alexis assures him it's no problem, then poutishly says she wishes it could always be this way between them. An oblivious Blake's like, "Why wouldn't it be?" and then ambles out of the room...leaving Alexis to stare concernedly into space as she murmurs, "Because it can't."
"Lately I've really been embracing the notion of a woman's place being in the home."
"From what I can recall about my personality, I wouldn't put it past myself to strongly embrace that notion also."
Steven drops by Delta Rho to urge Clay to temper his anger at Sammy Jo regarding the whole 'oops, there's no actual baby' situation. Steven insists that Sammy Jo didn't consciously lie to him about being pregnant, and Clay says he has no idea what his next move will be, but that she's lucky to have such a loyal friend in her ex-husband.
Gary Tilden is waiting at Carrington manor when Dominique returns home. She looks less than thrilled to see him and makes it clear that she wants nothing to do with him or his people, not least 'cause she doesn't require backing from anyone for her music career, given that she now owns the best studio in town. A miffed Gary strongly urges her to change her mind and [I assume?] agree to become a singing sensation within their criminal network - but she refuses and sternly orders him to leave. He snarlingly tells her that she'll be hearing from his people soon, then angrily stalks out.
Krystle phones Adam to let him know that it was Alexis who checked Blake out of the Singapore hospital, and Adam's like, "Hmm...that's weird" and continues to not let on that he's heard from Alexis several times since the rig explosion. Krystle laments that she can't seem to get the local police interested in helping her find the missing couple, and Adam says he strongly feels that his parents are fine. Krystle says it's obvious he knows a whole lot more than what he's telling her - but he denies that and says if he did happen to know which villa they've been holed up in for the past two days, he can only assume that their involvement is purely business-related. Smooth, Adam.
Later, Dex tells Krystle that he's increasingly suspicious about what might be going on between Alexis and Blake while they're off the grid, mostly cause Alexis is "a damned attractive woman" and that he could never quite shake the feeling that she never fully fell out of love with Blake. Krystle's like, "Well d'yuh", but then argues that Blake would never allow himself to be seduced by his she-devil of an ex-wife, and that she can't bring herself to believe that his past love for Alexis could have been ickily reawakened in any way, shape, or form.
Blake is sitting by the pool, posing, while Alexis paints his portrait. When she finally lets him look at the work of art, he remarks on the sadness she captured in his eyes, likely because he's lost twenty years' worth of memories that need to be filled in. He assures her that the sadness has nothing to do with present company...then pokes at his temple while muttering in frustration, "This thing...this terrible feeling that I haven't come around yet." Alexis breathily says she doesn't want this part of their lives to end - but he points out that eventually it has to, 'cause there's so much more of their lives to look forward to. He then pulls her into hug, and she stares despondently into space while breathily agreeing, "Yes, there's soooooo much more."
Back at the hospital in Denver, Sammy Jo packs up her things and sadly tells the nurse that she's opted to arrange a ride home without the aid of her shitty husband.
Nick Kimball calls the mansion and asks for Dominique, and Gerard tells him that she's over at her recording studio and is likely to be there all day.
Clay is surprised to find Sammy Jo sitting in the living room, stewing, and says she could have let him know she was ready to be picked up from the hospital. He sheepishly tells her he now regrets the things he said to her at the end of the previous episode, and she's like, "As well you should, they're hard to forget." Clay moans about how bummed he is that he's not about to become a father after all, and Sammy Jo says that after listening to him bellyache for two episodes, it's time for them to focus on her feelings, which are that for awhile it seemed as though he mostly just liked hitting the sack with her - until he suddenly proposed after the news of her [false] pregnancy - a proposal that came on the heels of him imploring her to get an abortion. She somehow assumed that he proposed marriage because he loves her - with or without a baby - but ever since her recent horse accident knocked some sense into her, she no longer believes that and wants to file for an annulment pronto.
Dominique is at the studio rehearsing when two of Gary Tilden's goons walk in unannounced and start smashing instruments. One of the goons tells her that certain people are unhappy that she hasn't been more cooperative...and when Dominique sassily orders them to get the hell out, one of the goons gives her a hard face smack and sends her reeling backwards. As she stares back at him in shocked bewilderment, Nick Kimball enters the room, sees what's happening, and picks up a guitar and hits the goons with it. He then single-handedly fights them both off until they decide they've had enough of an ass-kicking and flee.
THWACK!
"This ass-kicking is so much more impressive than my cat fight with Alexis."
Krystle tells Dex she intends to hire a local private investigator to locate Blake, and Dex is like, "I doubt it'll help, but whatevs." Krystle then gets a call from Jeannette, who telephoned on behalf of Kristina, who apparently misses her and goat daddy something awful. Krystle promises the tot they'll both be home soon and that in the meantime she should be a good girl for Jeannette.
Back at the villa, Blake gushes to Alexis about what a beautiful day it is, and she agrees that it's been a very special time for them...and that if anything happens to change their situation, nothing could erase the joy they've shared together for the last episode and a half. Blake scrunches his face confusedly and says he doesn't believe that anything could possibly interrupt their bliss, then obliviously gives her a contented canoodle.
Krystle meets with a private investigator and immediately tasks him with finding her missing husband.
Blake suffers another headache and tells Alexis he's going to take a walk by himself. He then ambles out of the room, leaving Alexis staring after him worriedly.
The private investigator tells Krystle it took him about a minute to learn that a lady from Denver matching Alexis's description rented a villa just outside the city a couple of days ago. He gives Krystle the address and wishes her good luck in wrapping up the inanity that is the 'Even though Blake didn't hit his head during the oil rig explosion, he somehow thinks he's still married to Alexis' storyline.
Sammy Jo informs Steven that she and Clay are annulling their week-long joke of a marriage, insisting it's for the best. Steven assures her he was serious about her and Danny spending a lot more time together, adding that he too would like to be part of that togetherness 'cause lately he's been craving the love and comfort of a family.
When darkness falls, Alexis worriedly calls out Blake's name - just as Krystle storms inside the villa, demanding to know where Blake is. Alexis pretends to have no idea what she's talking about, says she rented this house to enjoy some alone time, and that she wants her to get the hell out. She says that, as far as she knows, after being released from the hospital Blake had decided to travel elsewhere - when he suddenly appears on the terrace and stares at the two of them confusedly. Krystle's like, "Hurray! You're here!" and runs over to hug him...but after a few seconds, she realizes that he's just staring back at her blankly. Blake glances over at Alexis, who has lit a cigarette and looks both distressed and amused by the spectacle unfolding in front of her, and asks, "Who is this lady?" Alexis ignores the question and tells Krystle she needs to leave 'cause she's upsetting Blake, so Krystle takes it upon herself to tell Blake..
- She's his wife
- They share a young daughter
- He always carries a photo of them in his wallet
"Darling! You're alive!"
"Hello, attractive stranger."
A stressed looking Krystle continues to anxiously wait for her driver to finish changing the tire.
When Blake asks Alexis what happened to their marriage, she tells him it ended after several wonderful years together...completely skipping over the part where he exiled her from Carrington manor after catching her in bed with Roger Grimes. She confesses that she initially pretended they were still married 'cause she wanted him to sign over 50% ownership of the South China Sea oil leases to her - but then stupidly realized she cared less about the leases than she was enjoying their temporary trip down memory lane. Blake makes it clear how fuckin' pissed he is that she deliberately kept his life in limbo, then gets so overwrought by the deception that he clutches his forehead as his brain recombobulates itself back to its default settings, and the memories of his marriage to Krystle come flooding back. He's like, "Yay! I'm back to being me again!" and races outside - just as Krystle's driver hits the gas. When the car stops in front of the gates to wait for someone to open them, Krystle hears Blake calling her name, so she hastily climbs out of the passenger seat. The two run towards each other, pause to stare into each other's eyes, and tearfully embrace. He professes his love for her while she tells him that he's her entire world...and a foiled Alexis watches the tender moment from the terrace above.

Original airdate: 1/14/1987
Episode summary: Alexis rents a villa in Singapore in order to keep a mentally fragile Blake away from his family and continuing to believe that the two of them are still husband and wife.
In the next scene, Alexis is talking to a doctor at a hospital in Singapore (where she and Blake were airlifted) about Blake's condition. Dr. Chen informs her that he's regained consciousness and doesn't appear to have any serious physical injuries - but seems really confused and has been rambling about an explosion at Denver Carrington 1. Alexis is all, "Wha-a-a?" and recalls that that explosion happened back in 1964, then looks intrigued that Blake's brain has time-traveled twenty years in reverse and appears to be stuck there. Dr. Chen says that, in all likelihood, Blake's condition will eventually sort itself out - but, in the meantime, he needs to be treated with gentle loving kindness by someone close to him. Alexis chews on that for a few seconds, introduces herself as Blake's wife, and says she's off to look in on her pretend spouse.
Blake tells Alexis that the explosion was a horrifying sight to behold, then asks her if Jimmy Decker's OK. Alexis blurts out that Jimmy is definitely dead and has been for awhile now, then explains to Blake that he's suffering from a bout of temporary brain fog 'cause:
- The explosion he just escaped happened on a rig in the South China Sea, not in Denver
- It's 1987, not 1964
As Blake scrunches his face confusedly, Alexis tells him that, as his wife, she's going to help him get better and lovingly sit by his bedside all night if that's what it's going to take to give him comfort, and he responds by beaming and leaning forward to give his "wife" a grateful hug.
"It's 1987 - not 1964."
"That is definitely not a groovy revelation."
Sammy Jo calls Krystle to report that, during the previous episode, she made an effort to talk to Clay about her false pregnancy over a picnic lunch - but he was unavailable 'cause he was off somewhere laying dynamite. Krystle advises her to wait awhile and try contacting him again...then hangs up and turns her attention back to Kristina and assures the peppy tot that goat daddy is busy working, but is no doubt thinking about her every second of the day.
Alexis calls Adam to let him know that both she and Blake survived the rig blast and are currently in Singapore. She orders him to keep mum about that last thing 'cause she may have found a way to get half ownership of the South China Sea oil leases back. After the call, she pulls out a little pouch from her purse, retrieves her wedding ring from when she was Mrs. Blake Carrington, and puts it on her ring finger...which begs the disturbing question: has Alexis really been carrying around her old wedding ring for the last two decades with the faint hope that she'll one day have occasion to wear it again?
Steven drops by the mansion to inform Krystle that the rig Blake, Alexis, and Ben were touring just happened to explode while they were on board...and, as of yet, there's been no word about any survivors. Krystle contorts her face into a stricken expression and says she intends to fly to Hong Kong asap.
Alexis has rented a luxury villa in Singapore to keep Blake hidden away from his family and any nosy reporters who might actually be interested in their whereabouts. When Blake grumbles about being unable to unwind, she coos at him to relax, and shows him all the news clothes she purchased for him. Dissatisfied by that, he heads over to the phone to make a call to Denver - but Alexis gently takes the receiver out of his hand, fibs that she spoke to Andrew Laird and was assured that everything is A-OK back home, then leads him over to the living room to enjoy a cup of tea. He mumbles that he feels groggy...and when she encourages him to go upstairs for a nap, he gives her a smooch and gushes about how he'd never be able to manage this recuperation without his loving wife at his side. She stares back at him looking deeply touched, then glances down at her wedding ring...and a few seconds later, a deliveryman arrives with the legal document she requested: Assignment of Leases.
Krystle arrives in Hong Kong, quickly locates the local hospital Ben (who has a broken leg) has been brought to, and asks him where Blake is. He tells her that during the chaos of the rig explosion, he got separated from Blake and Alexis - but that lots of people were being rescued from the sea. Krystle angrily accuses him of taking advantage of the situation, so Ben makes it clear that he'd never actually do anything to cause physical harm to his only brother...and, to that point, he adds that it was he who saved Blake from certain death while aboard the rig. Krystle implores him to remember everything he can about the explosion in order to give her a clue where Blake might be - but when he comes up empty, she tells him that if he happens to think of anything useful, she'll be staying at the Peninsula Hotel, and then dejectedly shuffles out of the room.
Blake puts on the new suit that Alexis bought for him and tells her he came across the Assignment of Leases. Alexis fibs that, shortly before the explosion, he had decided to assign half of the leases to her in case anything happened to him, so that she and their children could avoid probate and have free access to what she believes they're entitled to. Blake mulls that over and agrees that it's prolly a good idea - but then wonders if these particular leases are the best leases he could be giving them. He complains about how groggy his brain still feels and asks her if there's anything she can do to help clear it out, so she asks him if he knows who was president in 1976...and when she reveals that it was Jimmy Carter, he chuckles about the informality of a president being referred to as "Jimmy". Alexis chuckles along and says she views it as progress that he's able to find humor in a former president's name.
At Delta Rho, Sammy Jo calls Clay to tell him there's something she needs to tell him [that she had every opportunity to spill long before now, but for some dumb reason continued to keep it to herself] ... and Clay tells her he'll return home once he's finished with his dynamite laying work. Steven arrives at the ranch with Danny, who's eager to put his new toy boat into a real body of water. Steven asks Sammy Jo if anything is wrong, and she snappishly tells him to stop always looking for reasons to deem her an unfit parent...and Steven acknowledges that, yeah, he has been on her case a lot over the years, apologizes for generally being such an insufferable sourpuss, and offers to leave Danny at the ranch overnight so that she can enjoy more time with her son. Sammy Jo brightens at the prospect and says she'd looooooove to have Danny spend the night.
Blake and Alexis are enjoying a lovely dinner when music comes on the radio that prompts Alexis to wax nostalgic about how it's the first song they ever danced to before their very first time hitting the sheets. Blake grins at the memory of their maiden doink, and the two dance together while she sings along to the melody...and the two reminisce about their whirlwind courtship more than two decades ago and then their life as newlyweds. Alexis wanks Blake about being "the most dashing man I know" [mmm...I'd be more inclined to give that prize to Dex], then suggests they indulge in a sexy midnight swim.
Adam telephones the villa to ask Alexis how Operation Get 50% of the Oil Leases Transferred Back to Her Control is going - but since Blake is in the room she brusquely tells him she can't talk about that right now. Blake takes the phone receiver from her and says that their canoodle time is far more important than any phone call, and then the two gaze lovingly at each other and exchange I love yous. After a smooch, Blake complains of another headache and says that something deep inside his subconsciousness is desperately trying to penetrate through the fogginess of his brain - but can't get through...and Alexis is all, "Oh, that's a bummer", then says she's more than happy for them to languish around this fabulous villa for as long as it takes for his brain matter to sort itself out.
"Whaddya say we take a trip down memory lane in the sack?"
"I would love to - but somehow my brain is preventing my penis from wanting to indulge."
Over at ColbyCo, Steven rails at Adam about how helpless he feels about them just sitting around while Alexis and Blake are MIA in Asia. Adam says he has a strong feeling they're both A-OK and urges his brother to do his best to keep busy until they hear from their parents. Steven sourly says he'll keep in touch, then exits the office...and once he's safely out of earshot, Adam calls Alexis to ask her whaddup with her hanging up on him, but she denies doing any such thing and chalks it up to a bad connection. He informs her that Krystle and Dex are on their way to Singapore to try to find her and Blake, and that he feels kinda bad about lying to Steven, who's becoming increasingly upset by the lack of news about their whereabouts. Alexis sternly forbids him to tell anyone what's really going on, then chirps, "Goodbye!" when Blake suddenly ambles into the room after waking up from his afternoon nap.
Dex drops by the Hong Kong hospital to see Ben, and snarkishly demands to know where Alexis and Blake are. Ben says he can only assume that the two were fished out of the South China Sea by a rescue boat...then informs him that Krystle also stopped by to demand answers from him, and that if he wants to look her up she's staying at the Peninsula Hotel.
Later, Dex and Krystle meet up at a restaurant and ponder the yet unknown fate of Blake and Alexis. Dex dreamily says he's loved Alexis for a very long time, and smilingly says that beneath her haughty imperiousness, he was able to see the soft vulnerability underneath. Krystle's like, "Ugh...whatever" and says she just really wants to hear that they're both safe...and by they're, she mostly means Blake. Dex promises her they'll find them, then asks her if she thinks that Blake really loved Alexis while they were married. Krystle mulls over the odd question and says she can only assume he did love the woman he married - that is, until he caught her red-handed riding Roger Grimes' baloney pony and callously cast her out of his life and the lives of their children.
"I can't help how much I love Alexis, the little minx."
"And I can't help how that needless revelation just made my stomach turn."
Later, Blake tells Alexis he has a gift for her, then presents her with the Assignment of Leases document, which he dutifully signed. Alexis stares at the document unhappily, says it's no longer at the top of her priority list, and rips it up. Not sure why the hell she'd do that, since there's really no getting around the fact that the silly charade of them living happily together as husband and wife has no chance of being anything other than a short-term fantasy that could blow up in her face any minute.
Sammy Jo and Danny are enjoying some together time at Delta Rho when one of the ranch hands walks over Danny's favourite horse, Valez. Danny asks if he can ride atop Valez while he's being exercised...and when Sammy Jo says he can, he waves his hat in the air and cries, "Yippee!" The action spooks Valez...and when he whinnies and flails his legs about, Sammy Jo is struck and collides with a nearby fence, where she loses consciousness.
Clay rushes over to the hospital and urgently asks the doctor if Sammy Jo and the baby are OK, he's all, "Sammy Jo's fine - but what baby are you talking about?", then decides he should prolly call her obstetrician asap. Uh oh.
A local police officer stops by the Singapore villa to inform Alexis that an American reporter in the area has been inquiring about her and Blake. The officer assures Alexis that he revealed nothing to the American, and that he'll continue to respect hers and Blake's privacy as long as they remain in his jurisdiction.
While canoodling in bed together, Dana urges Adam to share with her what's troubling him, then correctly guesses that he's concerned about his parents, who remain missing in Asia. Adam assures her he's not all that concerned 'cause he's pretty confident they're both OK - but Dana doesn't buy that he's totally in the dark and says he can be honest with her. Adam snippily tells her to drop it 'cause it's a family matter, and Dana shoots him the stink eye and [accurately] describes herself as "just the girl you go to bed with". She sarcastically thanks him for the trust, then rolls over with her back to him and goes to sleep.
Sammy Jo wakes up in the hospital as Clay is hovering over her. He calls her out on fibbing about her pregnancy in order to get him to marry her - but she insists he's wrong, 'cause she really really did believe he'd knocked her up. He asks her why she didn't just 'fess up when she learned she wasn't with child, and she tearfully says that somehow the timing never felt completely right for her to break the embarrassing news to him. She begs him to forgive her, and he coldly mutters, "I'm trying to" before huffily exiting the room.
"Were you ever going to tell me about the false pregnancy?"
"I figured that after nine months of no gestation it'd just be self-evident."
Blake tells Alexis he heard that a police officer had stopped by and asks if anything is wrong. She breezily assures him all is well, and that the officer merely came by to welcome them and ask if they're happy here. Blake beams and says he's very happy...and when she suggests they have lunch by the pool, he agrees that that would be a fabulous idea. After he ambles off, Alexis summons the house servant (Kai) and sternly tells him that Blake is to have no visitors and no phone calls, and Kai responds with a meek nod.
