Recap: A team of medical professionals work feverishly to save Kristina while Krystle and Blake anxiously look on. They use the paddles to shock her flatlined heart...and after several tense seconds, they get it beating again. The team then wheels her off to the ICU - stat! - and one of the doctors tells Blake that is looks as though the tot might have congestive heart failure. Over at ColbyCo, Alexis is discussing with Michael a project he wants to partner with her on: a development named Four Crossings he thinks has unlimited potential. Alexis warily argues that the project would have years of obstacles to overcome, and Michael wankingly points out how much she thrives on major challenges...then performs a bit of reverse psychology and says that if she thinks it's too hard, he can always take the deal elsewhere. Alexis rolls her eyes and says she's not taking the bait, but then agrees to read over his report and consider investing in Four Crossings. The Carrington clan - Steven, Dominique, Sammy Jo, and Adam - gather at the hospital to get the latest update on Kristina. Blake fills them in about her bum heart, then says that since there's really nothing any of them can do here, they should just disperse and go about their lives. He pulls Steven aside and asks him if he wouldn't mind filling in for him at Denver Carrington...and Adam overhears that and says he too would like to help in anyway he can, and Blake takes him up on the offer and remarks on how nice it is to have two sons he can depend on. Blake and Krystle hover anxiously over their unconscious daughter and assure her that the two of them will be by her side every minute and that she's going to be A-OK. A distressed looking Danny tells his parents he loves Kristina and doesn't want her to die, and Sammy Jo emphasizes that people go to the hospital to get better, while the inherently glum Steven says he can't promise that Kristina will be OK since everyone dies at some point. Sammy Jo balances that unhelpful dose of reality by hugging her son and assuring him that death isn't likely to befall any of them for a long, long time. She then stands up and says she should prolly be going now - but both Danny and Steven plead with her to stay and have sandwiches with them. The doctor tells Blake and Krystle that they're going to keep a close watch on Kristina tonight, 'cause her ability to stay alive for the next several hours could be a critical test of her overall chance of survival. He adds that if her EKG improves and her lungs clear out, they can conduct more testing and come up with a firm diagnosis...then urges the two of them to get some rest, 'cause right now there's not a helluva lot they can do for their tiny daughter. Aboard the ColbyCo jet, Alexis tells Michael she's willing to go all in on the Four Crossings development, and he hands her a glass of champagne and smarmily toasts "to a very long and profitable relationship". When she clarifies, "In business", he wonders aloud why they should confine their relationship to just business when they have so much in common [uh, could it be because, considering that you've doinked two of her daughters, it's completely ew otherwise???], and says he's confident he knows exactly what she needs. She says it's odd that he seems to know what she needs despite her not even knowing what that is...and when he asks her if they're still on for dinner, she unenthusiastically says they are, given that she's got no one better to break bread with. Back at the hospital, Blake finds Adam and Dana in the waiting room. He congratulates them on their speedy engagement, warmly calls Dana one of his most favorite people in the world, and urges them to forge ahead with their wedding plans 'cause he's so hopeful that Kristina is going to fully recover from her heart problems. While exiting the hospital, Dana reverently describes Blake as "quite a man", then complains that Alexis, on the other hand, hasn't bothered to phone her to welcome her into the family. She adds that she's worried Alexis is stalling for time so she can split them up, then suggests to Adam that they sneak off somewhere and wed. Adam assures her that Alexis is totes on board with their marriage, and that it means a lot to him to get married in Carrington manor, aka the house he was born in (prior to his decades long kidnapping). On top of that, he really wouldn't have the stones to tell his mother he's eloping, 'cause she's super excited about planning the wedding. Sammy Jo cuddles a sleeping Danny and remarks to Steven that if their son were going through anything like what Kristina's facing, she'd be a total basket case. After carrying the imp off to bed, she takes Steven up on his invitation to once again spent the night at his apartment...and after she ambles off to the bedroom, Steven opens a bible and murmurs, "Dear God...Kristina has so much love here. Don't take her. Pleeeeeeease let her live." Dex and Dominique are having drinks in the Carlton Hotel lounge and expressing their deepest sympathies regarding what Blake and Krystle are going through. A few seconds later, Alexis arrives with Michael in tow...and she snidely remarks, "This may not be as private, but it certainly beats the trailer. Doesn't it, Dominique?" ... and says this as though she herself hasn't hit the sheets with Dex inside at least two trailer offices. Dominique warns her not to mess with her tonight...and when Alexis is all, "Why not tonight? It looks like a repeat of all your other nights", Dex and Dominique solemnly inform her about Kristina being rushed to the hospital because of a heart problem. Alexis scrunches her face concernedly and breathily retorts, "Oh God...Blake must be in agony" and says she's off to the hospital to comfort her ex-husband. Alexis finds Blake in the hospital waiting room, looking weary. She offers to get in touch with a heart specialist she knows, and Blake thanks her for her thoughtfulness, but informs her that a renowned specialist named Dr. Chadway is already on the case. Krystle wanders over to tell Blake that she just made arrangements for the two of them to spend the night at the hospital. Alexis tells her she's sooooooo sorry and asks if there's anything she can do, and an incredulous Krystle's all, "Why the hell are you even here?" and reminds her that she once suffered a miscarriage after she (Alexis) deliberately spooked the horse that she (Krystle) had been riding when she fired off a skeet shotgun. Blake tells Alexis it's prolly best if she leaves, and she agrees after poutishly insisting that all she wants to do is help. Alexis returns home to the Carlton Hotel, summons Adam, and tells him she's leaving him in charge of ColbyCo while she jets off to California to visit with Fallon, Jeff, and their new baby. Ben arrives at the hospital, pokes his head into Kristina's room, then quietly backs out when he sees Blake and Krystle hovering over their ill tot. Leslie arrives soon after...and after she pokes her head into the room, she agrees that Blake and Krystle probably need their privacy. Ben urges her to consider moving into Carrington manor and coos at her to not be afraid of growing to love him again, and Leslie looks as though she's mulling over the prospect. Clay calls Delta Rho and learns that Sammy Jo has been gone all night. He leaves a message that he's going to be dropping by later...for what purpose at this point, who the hell knows? After sleeping in, Sammy Jo ambles into the dining area of Steven's apartment to find him and Danny eating breakfast. Danny asks if he can skip preschool to ride atop his favorite horse, Valez, and Sammy Jo says she'll allow the groom to let him ride while he exercises the horse. A contented looking Steven remarks on how much he likes it when they spend time together as a family, and Sammy Jo suggests that instead of relying upon a crisis to bring them closer, they take the leap and move in together. Steven tries to subtly remind her that he's not about to change his non-hetero genitalia preferences and that she needs a man who can please her in the sack - but Sammy Jo insists that all she cares about right now is the happiness of their family and urges him again to consider moving in with her at Delta Rho. Back at the hospital, Ben tells Blake that Leslie has agreed to move into Carrington manor, and Blake says he's happy for him and urges him to stay as close to his daughter for as long as possible. Ben asks if there's anything he can do to help with the current crisis, and Blake says it'd be great if he could fill in at Denver Carrington and help Steven, and also sit in on some important meetings. He then wanks his brother about how he's totes confident that he'll be able to handle any problem that arises, and Ben says it means a great deal to him to suddenly be a trusted family member and solemnly assures him he won't let him down. In Malibu, Alexis and Jeff are lunching at a beachside restaurant when Michael suddenly approaches their table. He tells a bewildered looking Alexis that he learned from someone in her office that she's spending a few days in California, so he thought 'why not be a stalker freak and catch the next plane out and then check myself into the same hotel she's staying in in case she's under the illusion that she needs me?' Alexis curtly tells him she has her family here and likely won't need him...and after Michael saunters off and is safely out of hearing range, Jeff urges his mother-in-law to steer clear of that charlatan 'cause he's bad news, not to mention extraordinarily icky for avidly trying to bone two generations of female Carringtons. The doctor informs Blake and Krystle that since the results of Kristina's EKG weren't promising, she's going to have to undergo a heart biopsy so that they can examine a sample of her heart muscle and figure out whassup. When the doctor gently tells Krystle that it'd be better if she weren't there 'cause of how tearfully freaked out she's been for the last day or so, she insists on comforting her child during the procedure, and Blake gently concurs. As the biopsy gets underway, Krystle and Blake hover over their tot and assure her she'll be A-OK...and Kristina smiles happily throughout the procedure and follows the doctors' instructions perfectly. She's a cute little gaffer, I'll give her that. Back in Malibu, Alexis admits to Jeff that she craves a warm, loving partnership and fears ending up alone. Jeff reminds her that she has four children (and a son-in-law!) who love her, and that she's super successful and smart...then cheekily adds that she's also pretty cute [for a middle-aged gal who seems intent on aging herself with her over-coiffed curly hairdos, thick layer of makeup, and stiff looking designer-wear]. At Delta Rho, Danny excitedly tells Steven he got to ride atop Valez...and Steven cuddles him and asks him if he'd like to relocate to the ranch - just as Clay enters the room. After Danny is discreetly sent out of the room for a made up errand, Clay snarks, "You don't waste any time, do you?" Steven says that since Danny needs as much parental coddling as he and Sammy Jo can muster, he and his son relocating to Delta Rho makes the most logistical sense. Clay accuses him of using his son to take Sammy Jo away from him, and Steven reminds him that he was the one who turned his back on Sammy Jo when she needed him. Clay shoots back that all he can offer the skanklet is promises he can't keep - just as Sammy Jo enters the room and asks what in blazes is going on. When Clay tells her he just stopped by to pick up his things, she says she'll have them packed and delivered to him...and he snarlingly warns, "OK - but if you think this is going to work out, you are headed for disaster." Krystle tells Kristina that she was very brave during the biopsy, and Blake agrees and says they're all very impressed with how she smilingly endured the procedure. Kristina beams happily and tells her mommy and goat daddy she loves them - just as the doctor interjects to summon Blake and Krystle to his office for a bleak update. The biopsy results indicate that Kristina is suffering from a virus infection that's weakening her heart muscle, and that her heart is deteriorating at an alarming rate. A shattered Krystle asks him if Kristina could die, and the doctor says she definitely could - unless they can find her a new heart, like pronto. Thanks for reading!
