This is going to be awkward when Emma Samms gets cast
Original airdate: 12/19/1984
Episode summary: Blake buys back Allegre from Rock Hudson, with whom Krystle has a past connection. Alexis and Dex tie the knot while Amanda pouts. Claudia confesses her infidelity to Steven.
1) why she was so anxious to get Amanda out of Denver, and
2) why she so abruptly changed her mind about marrying him.
Alexis retorts that..
1) she's competing with Blake for Amanda's affection and figured that dragging her around the UK indefinitely would somehow preclude Blake and Amanda from ever communicating long enough to discover that they're really father and daughter, and
2) she finally decided 'why not buy the cow even when I'm getting the milk for free?'
She asks Dex if he loves her, and he breathily replies, "Yesssss" and coos about how [despite doinking her daughter in the previous episode] he wants to marry her more than ever.
Blake and Krystle are watching a horse race on TV and cheering on Allegre. When the commentator mentions that Allegre is about to be auctioned, Krystle scrunches her face pensively and wonders aloud why anyone would want to sell the gorgeous beast. Blake says he'd be more than happy to seeing about buying it back for her 'cause she's long overdue for an extravagant gift now that she's given birth to their spawn...and assures her that Denver-Carrington is enough in the black that he can afford to re-purchase the prize-winning horse.
The camera pans over to the Delta Rho stables, where a Frenchman named La Salle tells Allegre's owner - Rock Hudson (!) - he's interested in buying the horse. Rock Hudson's assistant Charles pulls him aside and tells him that word on the street is that Blake Carrington is also interested in Allegre and will pay anything to buy it back for his trophy wife...then tells him the story about how Krystle sold Allegre to free up some much needed funds after Blake lost millions following the South China Sea debacle.
Over drinks in New York, Nicole tells Jeff she's skeptical about Fallon being alive, but Jeff disagrees and thinks maybe she's been wandering the streets somewhere, suffering from amnesia. Nicole urges him to stop living in the past and join her on her Indiana Jones and the Solid Gold Bolivian Statue adventure, but Jeff says he's not interested 'cause he's already rich...but then offers to help her find the other half of the treasure map - which apparently Peter was toting around at the time of his death - on the off-chance it leads him to Fallon.
"I want to scour the U.S. for the missing half of the treasure map, then scour the Bolivian countryside for the gold statue."
"And I don't want to do that at all."
Blake is finally able to reach Amanda by phone in the Chelsea Suite, and asks her if she wouldn't mind returning to Denver asap so she can take a blood test and let the doctors either include or eliminate him from the pool of men who could have doinked Alexis roughly nine months before she was born. She agrees and gabbles about how happy it'd make her if they turned out to be father-daughter. As a miffed looking Alexis eavesdrops from the next room, Amanda tells Blake she'll fly back to Denver right after the wedding...and when Blake is all, "Wuh? Wedding?", Amanda explains that Alexis is planning to tie the knot with her pet boyfriend, Dex.
Moments before the horse auction gets underway, Rock Hudson sees Blake and Krystle arrive, stares contemplatively into space for a few seconds, then orders Charles to pull Allegre out of the auction. Despite Charles' protests, an announcement is made over the PA system that Allegre is no longer up for auction.
Rock Hudson requests a one-on-one meeting with Blake, and tells him he wants to sell the horse directly to him in order as a reward for Krystle's act of loyalty in selling Allegre when money was tight. Blake scrunches his wrinkly face in puzzlement as he questions Rock's motives...then returns to the limo and tells Krystle he just got a business proposition he needs to wrap his brain around.
Alexis announces to Amanda that after a brief honeymoon, she wants the three of them to enjoy a looooong Caribbean cruise, far away from Denver. When Amanda objects to third-wheeling it with her mother and [sexy] new stepdad, Alexis rebrands the vacay as a family holiday, and urges her to invite some friends...or a beau perhaps. Amanda stares into space and poutishly says she has no friends or beau, so Alexis tells her it would mean a lot to her if she tagged along anyway...and Amanda reluctantly agrees.
"It would be super fun if you accompanied Dex and I on our extended honeymoon celebration."
"Sounds like a good reason for me to look even poutier than usual."
Wedding day! Inside a ginormous, empty cathedral, the vicar is performing a lackluster looking ceremony to bind Alexis and Dex in matrimony. When he gets to the part where he asks if "anyone can show just cause why this couple cannot lawfully be joined together in matrimony", Amanda glares forlornly at Dex, but remains mute.
Steven asks Claudia why she seems so restless, so she confesses to hitting the sheets with Dean Caldwell while he and Luke were flirting it up in Santa Barbara. She says she only did it 'cause she's been so desperately lonely, then promises it'll never happen again. Steven does his best to emote disapproval and asks her if he's not man enough for her...and when she tries to cuddle him and assure him he's plenty man enough for this wife-beard, he shoves her away and storms out of the room.
Blake takes Krystle to the Delta Rho stables, where Allegre is led out with a big red bow around her neck. When he tenderly says, "Merry Christmas, darling", Krystle lets out a happy squeal and leap-hugs him.
Rock Hudson tells Charles he's cancelling his plans to spend Christmas in Monte Carlo so he can hang around Denver and get the ball rolling on his (sadly) short-lived Dynasty stint. When Charles scrunches his face confusedly about why he'd want to pass up the opportunity to vacation in Monte Carlo, Rock offers up a nonsensically incoherent explanation.
While Alexis and Dex are away on their two day honeymoon, Amanda meets up with her Aunt Rosalind and complains that Alexis hid her passport so she couldn't fly back to the States unattended. She then implores Rosalind to reveal who she thinks might have knocked up Alexis around the time she was banished from Carrington manor.
Blake and Krystle drop by the hospital to gaze lovingly at Kristina through the NICU's glass window.
When Alexis and Dex return from their honeymoon, Amanda puts her extra pouty face on and accuses Alexis of confiscating her passport. Alexis chuckles breezily and says she merely had it put in the hotel's safety deposit box, then gives her the key and bitchily tells her she's old enough to go down to the lobby and fetch it herself. Amanda smugly informs her she's flying back to Denver to give Blake the good news about her paternity - courtesy of Rosalind, who could no longer hold herself back from spilling the beans. She poutishly warns Alexis to not retaliate against Rosalind (or else!), then flounces out of the room...leaving Alexis glaring angrily into space.
Dominique drops by Blake's office to thank him for inviting her to spent Christmas Eve at Carrington manor, then toots her own horn about what a great financial partner she's been to him, and how helpful she proved herself to be during the ill-fated-for-Ahmed Istanbul operation. She says she'd like him to publicly acknowledge her as his half-sister - but Blake's like, "Whoa, Nellie..." then tells her he tracked his father down to see if the [I'll assume] centenarian would confirm siring an illegitimate daughter. Blake reports that his father denied ever sleeping with her mother...and Dominique shrieks, "He's lying! I'll find a way to make you accept the truth!" before getting up and storming out of the room.
"My father denies ever hitting the sheets with your mother."
"I expect you to overrule that assertion."
Amanda tells Blake what Rosalind told her: when Alexis arrived in Switzerland after being banished from Carrington manor, she confided in her that Blake, and not some random ski instructor, was her unborn baby's father. Blake and Amanda squeal happily and collapse against each other in a hug, and Amanda coos about how relieved she is that the writers have finally gotten around to establishing that he's her bio dad.
On Christmas Eve, a group of carolers make their way to the mansion to entertain the Carrington clan - a scene that goes on for what felt like a really loooooong time. When they finally wrap it up, Gerard hands the caroler-in-charge an envelop and gives them all the bum's rush out the door - just as Santa (!) appears on the top of the staircase. He scampers down the stairs, then leads Little Blake and Danny into the living room so everyone can sit around the tree and open their gifts. Krystle's gift to Blake is a large portrait of Fallon (the Pamela Sue Martin version) ... and Jeff stares at it sadly, while Little Blake mutters, "It's mommy. I love you mommy." A few seconds later, he and Danny are whisked off to bed by the nanny.
Steven pulls Claudia aside and apologizes for his bitchitude earlier, and Claudia just shrugs indifferently and says she's fully aware that she's not Danny's bio mom.
Blake proposes a toast to the family's newest addition...prompting Dominique to grin in happy anticipation, then contort her face angrily when Blake formally welcomes his long lost spawn, Amanda, to the family. As everyone crowds around the two and gushes about the Carrington's newest member, Dominique can bear the snub no longer and storms out of the room. Adam discreetly remarks to Claudia that he doesn't trust Dominique and is pretty sure she wants something from Blake...and Claudia says she's so intrigued by this boring-as-fuck subplot that she'd like to help him uncover what the interloper is really up to.
Blake presents Amanda with a bedazzled locket...and she looks touched and thanks him - just as Alexis (clad in a red gown with extraordinarily poofy sleeves) and Dex appear in the doorway. She orders Amanda to give mummy a kiss, then pack up her gifts and return with her and Dex to the penthouse. Amanda's all, "Noooo, mummy!" and explains that Blake has invited her to live at Carrington manor indefinitely, so Alexis haughtily pronounces she's cancelling that invitation. LOL. Blake reminds Alexis that Amanda is not a child and can make up her own mind about which parent she'd be most comfortable sponging off of, and Alexis snarks at him to shut it and once again orders Amanda to leave with them. When Amanda continues to refuse, Alexis orders Dex to order Amanda to leave with them...so Dex half-heartedly tells Amanda that both he and Alexis would be delighted if she were to return to the penthouse. Amanda visibly perks up at that, but just stares mutely at the two of them.
"I'm cancelling Christmas, so pack up your shit and come home with us this instant."
"I refuse to obey...unless Dex asks me sexily."
Krystle snappishly tells Rock Hudson she's returning his package, then growls, "How daaaaare you come back into my life after what you did!" and glares hatefully at him.

A slow news day in Denver
Original airdate: 12/12/1984
Episode summary: Jeff gets hopeful news about Fallon. Kristina gets a clean bill of health. Dex and Amanda take a break from sniping at each other to hit the sheets.
In the penthouse dining area, Dex is lounging in his bathrobe while reading the paper and nibbling his breakfast. Amanda enters the room, also in her robe, and snipes at him for something or other (my brain has started to tune them out) ... and he snappishly tells her to grow up, then irritably stalks out of the room.
Jeff drops by Nicole's room at the La Mirage to learn more about Peter De Vilbis' final days...and gets a confusing earful. Nicole nonsensically explains that since Peter had an expensive drug habit he needed to perpetually fund, he became obsessed with acquiring a solid gold statue that was rumored to be buried somewhere in Bolivia. Um, OK..? To that end, he got himself the requisite treasure map - but only had part of the funding for the expedition...so when he somehow learned that Fallon fled her wedding, he immediately began tracking her movements. He quickly hopped aboard a plane, flew north and located Fallon at the monastery, where he attempted to squeeze more dough out of her. Jeff snarks that Peter was using Fallon the same way that she (Nicole) is trying to use him now, but Nicole promises that if he helps her find the gold statue, she won't suddenly abscond with it. She adds that she's also not slutty like Peter, aka a man who always had to have a hot woman on his arm, e.g. Fallon or the Swedish model he picked up in L.A. shortly before the plane crash. Jeff perks up at that fascinating tidbit and wonders if it's possible that the Swedish model (and not Fallon) was the person who perished on the plane with Peter...but Nicole just scrunches her face quizzically and asks, "Then where is Fallon?" Jeff furrows his caterpillar brows and says, "That's exactly what I'm going to find out."
"With my treasure map and your financial resources, we'll find that Bolivian gold statue in no time."
"Sounds like a rabbit hole I'd prefer to stay far away from."
Dr. Miller informs Blake and Krystle that Kristina has accepted the blood transfusion with no problems...and that the little gaffer is so strong and resilient that it's doubtful she'll ever have any health issues from this moment on. Blake smiles goofily, while a relieved Krystle happily mumbles that their baby is going to be just fine.
Amanda drops by Alexis' ColbyCo office and is informed by Alexis that Dex is coming over, which means the three of them can have dinner together. Amanda contorts her face with a look of distaste, then tells her mother she interviewed with Maxwell Allen about a job at The Chronicle. Alexis frowns disapprovingly, snarks, "One does not break bread with vultures", and tells her she can always come work at ColbyCo if she ever wants to pretend to be a serious career woman. Dex enters the office and snipes at Amanda for something or other...and Amanda poutishly reminds him she has feelings, then angrily storms out of the office. Alexis chides Dex for his chronically bitchy attitude towards Amanda, and says he's going to have to accept the fact that this poutish, nubile young woman [with whom he's been working overtime setting the table for an 'I'm acting like I hate you even though what I really want is to make passionate love to you' scene] is her daughter.
Dominique and Adam arrive at Carrington manor to give Blake the latest update on Rashid Ahmed's killing: the man who fatally shot him had a personal vendetta against him and is being solely blamed for the murder. LOL. How implausibly convenient for Blake. Adam hands Blake the confession letter Ahmed signed moments before he was killed, and Blake studies it contemplatively for a few seconds before ordering Adam to set up a press conference so he can fully exonerate himself in front of a gaggle of reporters who hopefully have nothing more newsworthy to report on that day.
Amanda is sitting on the balcony, sketching a likeness of Dex's head, when Adam arrives to see whassup. Amanda complains about how talking to Dex and/or Steven always deteriorates into a contrived argument, and that she has no idea what to make of her weirdly over-dramatic mother. When Adam advises her to "learn to love Alexis on her terms", she poutishly counters, "Blake doesn't create terms." Adam chuckles heartily and says she's living in a fantasy world if she thinks Blake is any less of a douchebag than Alexis, and that at heart he's a crotchety old goat who makes it extremely hard for anyone to get to know. Amanda chews on that troubling assessment while staring contemplatively into space.
"Just FYI: Blake can be just as giant a douchebag as Alexis."
"I guess I'm still in the honeymoon phase with the old goat."
Dean spots Claudia in the La Mirage living room and asks her whassup with her not returning his many phone calls, and she glances around the room shiftily and says they prolly shouldn't be seen talking. She adds that while their doinkfest was spectacular, it was a mistake she doesn't want to risk losing her status as a well-to-do Carrington wife-beard over. She then says, "Sorry" and wanders off, leaving Dean staring after her unhappily.
Blake receives the PI's report from London, which concludes that when Alexis arrived in the UK after her banishment from Carrington manor, she lived in total seclusion until giving birth to Amanda. When Blake makes a beeline over to ColbyCo to gleefully confront Alexis with this "proof", she derisively calls the report gossip, insists again that she was impregnated by some random ski instructor, and that she had tons of parties during her pregnancy. She taunts Blake by saying he'll never know who Amanda's father is...but when Blake says he'll simply arrange for him and Amanda to take blood tests, Alexis turns ashen and cries, "I won't permit it!" Blake snarks back that there's nothing she can do to stop him, then shoots her a smug grin before storming out.
After returning home from Santa Barbara, Steven drops by Claudia's office at the La Mirage to report that he and Luke are being called The Miracles 'cause of their collective miraculousness in containing the oil spill and repelling any bad media coverage of ColbyCo. When he calls Claudia out on how standoffish and weird she's acting, she assures him that everything is A-OK, and that she's just relieved he's back from his trip.
Alexis, who's decked out in an animal print gown with a brown fur thing draped over her shoulders, suggests to Amanda that she go back to the Sorbonne and finish up her education. Amanda says she'd rather not, then accuses her mother of trying to get her out of Denver and far away from Blake...which prompts Dex to admonish her inability to discuss any topic without attacking her mother. When she snarks back at him, Alexis yells at them to shut up, then suggests that the three of them abruptly leave town so they can vacation at a remote ski lodge in Ruidoso, NM. Dex is all, "Wha-a-a?" and tells her he has many important meetings...but when Alexis shoots him the stink-eye, he says he'd be more than happy to cancel them if it would please Her Highness. Alexis happily rejoins, "It's settled then!"
"How would you like to third-wheel it with us on our ski vacation?"
"Sounds super fun."
Luke stops by Carrington manor to deliver some ColbyCo documents, and Claudia invites him in for a chat about everything he and Steven did while they were in Santa Barbara. Luke says the two of them had a fab time jogging, swimming, and eating lobster - and Claudia nods knowingly and later tells Steven what a polite young man his new, unambiguously gay friend is.
Amanda and Dex are sniping at each other (fuuuuuuuuuuuck) aboard the ColbyCo private jet when they get word that Alexis has been delayed at the office, and that she wants them to fly to Ruidoso without her. A few seconds later, an angry Blake calls Alexis to complain about Amanda being whisked out of town and therefore inaccessible for a blood test, and Alexis responds by hanging up on on him and ordering her assistant to arrange for private jet #2 to get fueled for an imminent trip to London.
Amid a blizzard, Amanda and Dex are holed up in the cozy ski lodge in Ruidoso, anxiously awaiting Alexis' arrival. Dex calls the local airport and learns that all flights to and from the area have been grounded...and Amanda gets so upset about having to spend the night alone with Dex that she starts throwing things at him. He reacts by gently pinning her down onto a pile of plush pillows and staring lustfully into her eyes, and the camera then pans over to Amanda, who's lustfully staring back at Dex...and a few seconds later, the two begin smooching in earnest.
"Despite being constantly annoyed and irritated by your mere presence, I have this insatiable need to take you to bed right now."
"I feel exactly the same way, asshole."
Blake, Dominique, and Adam hold a press conference to publicly exonerate Blake from any wrongdoing in Rashid Ahmed's death...and also to convince the reporters that the presence of Dominique and Adam in Istanbul at the exact time of Ahmed's death was purely coincidental. LOL.
After watching the press conference, Krystle snarks at Blake again for the argument that nearly cost Kristina her life, and that she's having difficulty putting his many lies behind her.
Jeff meets up with Nicole at La Mirage to report that Peter De Vilbis had checked into a hotel prior to locating Fallon at the monastery...and that hotel staff were able to confirm that he had checked into the hotel with the Swedish model. Jeff says he's pretty sure that the woman who died in the plane crash with Peter was not Fallon.
Amanda packs her things and snappishly tells Dex she wants to get far away from America - just as Alexis breezes in wearing an extremely fluffy white fur coat with a wagonful of delicacies and champagne she orders be wheeled inside the lodge. She announces that the three of them are abruptly abandoning their ski lodge vacation to fly to London so that she and Dex can get married...and Dex is all, "Wha-a-a?" and grins stupidly, while Amanda stares at her mother and future stepfather in shocked bewilderment.

Original airdate: 12/5/1984
Episode summary: Krystle gives birth to a premature baby girl, who doesn't seem likely to survive. Claudia is miffed when Steven and Luke Fuller jet off to Santa Barbara on business. Amanda continues to flirt with Dex.
Nicole drops by Claudia's office at the La Mirage to ask her if she wouldn't mind storing important papers regarding her late husband's estate in the very secure office safe. Claudia just shrugs and is like, "Yeah, sure. What the hell" ... then is startled a few seconds later when she catches Nicole reentering the office for what looked like a sneaky opportunity to tiptoe behind her to learn the safe's combination. Nicole's like, "Oops, sorry!" and pretends she came back to retrieve a book she "accidentally" left behind. Weird.
Krystle is revived through smelling salts, then promptly goes into labor. Blake tells Gerard to cancel the hospital ride and call 911 for some paramedic assistance...then help him haul his wife back up to the master bedroom and hope to hell that someone in the mansion knows something about midwifery.
Nicole is chatting it up with the La Mirage bartender, fibbing about how she and Fallon Carrington were besties - just as Jeff walks up behind her and overhears. He asks her whassup with her lying about a friendship with Fallon, and Nicole's like, "Oops" and breezily "explains" that she was so bored just now that she decided 'why not tell a complete stranger I was good friends with my lover's dead ex/future wife?', and adds that Fallon was sooooo lucky to be his lady. She implores Jeff to not be angry with her, and he somehow overlooks the nonsensical weirdness of this entire scene and assures her he's still into the idea of doinking her.
Adam calls Steven from Turkey to tell him to pass along to Blake the following message: mission accomplished. Subtle. Steven seems surprised to learn that Adam had been in Turkey during much of the previous episode and stares perplexedly into space.
Blake and Claudia hover over Krystle as she moans about how frightened she is about losing the baby...and Jeannette decides that this would be the most appropriate moment to tiptoe inside the room and pass along to Blake Adam's mission accomplished message. Krystle pauses her labor to ask if by mission accomplished, Adam was referring to Ahmed's untimely death, and Blake tells her not to worry 'bout that now and instead focus on her increasingly frequent contractions. As the ambulance putters along the scenic route towards Carrington manor, Krystle lets out a few moans and shrieks before giving birth to a girl. Claudia, who was standing at the foot of the bed at the time so I'm assuming delivered the tot, contorts her face into a stricken expression and tells Blake she's not breathing. He jumps into action and gives the infant mouth-to-mouth while begging her to "breathe, please breathe!" Krystle wails, "Nooooo! It's happening again!" as the slow driving paramedics finally pull up to the mansion and stumble inside with their lifesaving gear.
"I can't go through another 'I lost my baby' storyline."
"Don't worry - the writers felt that that would be too repetitive of your Season 2 miscarriage."
Blake stares at his incubated daughter through the NICU window when Jeff arrives at the hospital to express his concern for the newborn and his butt-kissing affection for Blake and Krystle - despite the dickish playboy antics he's been demonstrating during the last several episodes. After the two kiss and hug it out, Dr. Miller, a female pediatric specialist, informs Blake that his daughter is suffering from respiratory distress - but that since she's showing great tenacity as she struggles to breathe, she's pretty sure that the tiny gaffer will make it through this rough patch. Dr. Harris, meanwhile, warns Blake that the next few weeks are going to be very difficult emotionally, and that he's going to have to refrain from being his usual dickish self for Krystle's sake.
Alexis tells Steven she needs him to fly to Santa Barbara asap in order to handle the PR fallout from a recent oil spill. She's also sending Luke Fuller along on the trip 'cause, not only is she oblivious to the non-hetero electricity that's been crackling between them, she finds him to be an exceptionally bright and helpful young man. Steven stares into space looking both irritated and intrigued.
Claudia pops in on Steven to invite him to lunch, but Steven says he has to decline 'cause of his imminent business trip to Santa Barbara. He invites her to come along, but she declines and says she should probably stay in town so she can visit Krystle in the hospital and worriedly wring her hands about the preemie. Luke suddenly appears in the doorway and asks Steven what time he should tell the pilot to take off...and Claudia shoots him the stink-eye while knowingly clucking, "Mmm hmm.." Steven tightly replies that 2pm should be fine - and once Luke is out of hearing range, he swears to Claudia that this will be a strictly hanky panky-free business trip.
"Ready for our overnighter in Santa Barbara, Steven?"
"Shut up and go wait for me on the plane."
Alexis arrives at the hospital with brightly wrapped gifts and festive balloons to welcome the birth of Blake's spawn...and also to chastise him for hiring PIs to look into her past. She insists that Amanda isn't his daughter and wails, "You won't take her away!", and Blake growls at her for causing him grief when he's worried sick about his preemie newborn, then tells her to get lost 'cause right now he can't stand the sight of her.
Krystle wakes up in her hospital bed and cries out, "My baby!" so Blake cooingly assures her that the tot is fine, though extremely teeny tiny, and is getting the best medical care. When Krystle asks him if he's being on the level with her, he promises he's not keeping anything from her...and that, on a different topic, he never actually meant for Ahmed to get killed. He then blames himself for her stunt double's spectacular staircase fall - but Krystle doesn't want to think about that now and is putting all of her mental energy towards willing her baby to survive.
Alexis is in her penthouse, sipping champagne while decked out in a ridiculously poofy white '80s gown. When she grumbles to Dex about not being in the mood for a dinner party with a bunch of boring bankers, he asks if she's in such a bad mood 'cause of her earlier squabble with Blake. She poutishly tells him that Blake hired PIs to investigate her, and Dex is like, "So? Do you have anything to hide?" and Alexis says she doesn't, and that she's continuing to stick to her story that a ski instructor impregnated her nine months before Amanda was born. Dex says he knows her well enough to tell when she's lying, and Alexis snarks back that she doesn't owe him an explanation, has a splitting headache, and zero desire to go to the bankers' dinner party. As she rushes upstairs to change out of her poofy monster gown, Dex storms onto the balcony and is startled to find Amanda standing there, staring at him with a wistfully poutish expression. She coquettishly says, "Hi" and remarks that it certainly does sound like Alexis is hiding something, then explains that she was out here getting some air when he and Alexis entered the room and started fighting...and rather than interrupt, she decided it would be more interesting to stay hidden and eavesdrop on their argument. She shoots him a blatant come hither look, runs her hand along his back, and asks if he'd to stay and talk - but when he gazes lustfully at her and caresses her face, she's all, "Ack!" and pulls away. He lets out a derisive snort and tells her to stop her damn teasing already and act like a mature adult...and she admits that, yep, he called her bluff, then scurries off like a frightened mouse.
"I want to turn you on without you responding as if you've just been turned on."
"You're even weirder than your mother."
Blake brings Krystle to the NICU to see her baby, at which she coos, "She's beaaaaautiful." Blake tells her that sooner or later they're going to have to officially name her and reminds her that they had agreed on Emma - but Krystle says she recently had a dream about a very brave girl she knew a long time ago who saved her and a bunch of other kids during a fateful boating accident...blah blah...and that girl's name was Kristina. So Kristina it is.
Amanda stops by the hospital to see Blake and extend her sympathies/concern/hopefulness about the baby's welfare, and Blake smiles goofily and says her uncanny ability to sense his moods reminds him sooooo much of Fallon. Even though it wouldn't take a genius to assume that Blake would be down in the dumps while his newborn is hanging on for dear life in the NICU. Amanda agrees that she feels pretty in sync with him and takes it as a compliment that she reminds him so much of his slutty eldest daughter.
Claudia calls Steven while he's showering...and naturally Luke enters the bungalow at that exact moment so he can answer the call and generate the maximum amount of suspicion to suggest that he and Steven are hooking up. Claudia looks upset, says she's not going to bother leaving a message...and when Steven emerges from the bathroom a few seconds later, he's oddly mystified that Claudia didn't want to so much as pass on a hello.
Claudia is aimlessly wandering the streets of downtown Denver when she happens to amble past Dean Caldwell's art gallery. He spots her, rushes outside, and invites her come in and join him for a cup of coffee...and in the next scene they're standing inside his gallery, chit-chatting about new artists. He asks her why she looks so bummed and correctly assumes it's 'cause of her untenable wife-beard situation with Steven, and she nods and says she feels as though he's slipping away. She tears up and says she feels empty and alone, and Dean tells her he cares and leans in for a smooch. She pulls away, but then decides 'aw fuck it, I've been a dutiful wife-beard long enough' and smooches him back.
"Why on earth would you ever consent to becoming Steven's wife-beard?"
"It seemed like a good idea at the time."
Dr. Miller drops by Krystle's hospital room with a grim look on her face. She informs Krystle and Blake that Kristina's latest blood tests have revealed that she suffers from a wide assortment of health problems that could result in seizures, brain dysfunction, and even death. As the two gasp and contort their faces in expressions of horror, Dr. Miller says they'll give the baby some blood transfusions and hope that that does the trick...but that there's no guarantee, given that she's pretty much teetering on the verge of death.

"You deserve so much more than life as a rich man's wife-beard."
Original airdate: 11/28/1984
Episode summary: Adam and Dominique travel to Turkey to meet with Rashid Ahmed. Blake invites Amanda to the mansion for dinner. A pregnant Krystle takes a dangerous tumble down the stairs.
Over at La Mirage, Jeff and Nicole are in bed, enjoying some post-coital champagne. Nicole urges Jeff to talk about Fallon, then mentions that she's seen photos of his ex/future late wife - but Jeff just flinches and says he has no desire to talk about the disloyal slut. Nicole pretends she has no real interest on the subject and suggests they go at it again, and Jeff perks up at that and rolls atop her and gives her a tonguey smooch.
We get an exterior shot of Istanbul to help with the transition to fake Turkey, where Adam is sitting at a poolside table being waited on by a bellydancer. Dominique sashays over and informs Adam that she's certain Rashid Ahmed is staying at his nearby villa, and that she has plans to get together with him later. Adam snarkishly retorts that she'd better deliver on her promise to Blake to get Ahmed to sign a letter that exonerates Blake from any wrongdoing regarding the South China Sea debacle, or else.
Ahmed receives Dominique in his luxury villa and smarmily goes on and on about how exquisite she is. He then says he knows she traveled to Turkey with Adam Carrington and that she's here to get him to admit that he screwed Blake over when he helped mediate the South China Sea deal with whatever unnamed country he was representing. Dominique offers to give him $7 million to confess his misdeeds and hand over the South China Sea leases, then reminds him that he owes her a personal favor 'cause of some past predicament involving a Greek tycoon. Ahmed makes a blech face at the idea of doing Blake any favors, but invites her to further persuade him over dinner. Dominique accepts his invitation, but makes it clear that she's in town to discuss business - not engage in any kind of Alexis-style hanky panky.
"I need you to admit wrongdoing and sell Blake the oil leases he wants."
"Sounds like a lose-lose proposition."
Blake returns home from work and finds Nicole standing in the conservatory, staring at a framed photo of Fallon. When Blake enters the room and stares at her questioningly, she explains that she's a friend of Jeff's, then expresses her condolences about Fallon's untimely death. Blake politely tells her to make herself at home, and to please ask Jeff to swing by the study before he leaves for the evening. Nicole's like, "Can do" ... and once Blake's out of earshot, she glares at Fallon's photograph and wonders aloud if her dead husband Peter told her (Fallon) whatever mysterious secret she (Nicole) is currently thinking about...and I have no idea what in blazes she's referring to.
Blake tells Jeff he misses him being at Denver Carrington this season and urges him to re-settle into his old life. Jeff says he's not ready to go back to work, and that he has a whole new world [of hooking up with every loose woman he rubs up against at the La Mirage] opening up to him. When Blake warns that he's being self destructive, Jeff petulantly snaps back that he had no problem tolerating this kind of behavior from Fallon for years, growls, "It's my life!", then storms out like the pissy little bitch he's morphed into in Season 5.
Amanda arrives at Carrington manor in an unflatteringly shapeless, poofy-sleeved pink gown and is greeted by a smiling Blake and Krystle. After everyone gushes about how gorgeous the other looks, Blake and Krystle steer Amanda over to the study, where they can all enjoy pre-dinner drinks with Steven and Claudia.
Over dinner, Amanda talks about the shock of learning that Alexis was her bio mom...and Steven snarkishly interjects to express how dickish he thinks it was of her to blab about this discovery to a reporter. When he accuses her of doing it to embarrass Alexis, Amanda snaps back that he's one to talk after he took the stand and testified against Alexis during her murder trial. Blake tells the two to stop quarreling, then gets a wistful look on his wrinkly face and says that their sniping reminds him of the fights Steven and Fallon used to have...and everyone nods with faraway looks on their faces while smiling fondly. LOL.
Alexis is primping in her penthouse bathroom when Dex arrives...and she grimaces at the sight of him and says she thought he was Amanda, then wonders aloud where her long-lost daughter went off to this evening. Dex bitchily retorts that he's soooo sick of hearing about Amanda all the damn time and suggests they put her out of their minds by getting busy between the sheets. Alexis makes a blech face and asks him to come back when she's more in the mood, and Dex scrunches his face into a hurt expression and calls her insensitive. On his way out, he runs into Amanda coming off the elevator and snappishly tells her that Alexis has been wondering where she spent her evening. Amanda chuckles at his ball-lessness at getting kicked out of Alexis' boudoir, then leans in and gives him a quick smooch. Dex pretends to get all incensed and says, "You need to have your bottom smacked" - and Amanda stares flirtily at him, gamely replies, "Any time", then sashays up the stairs in her shapeless gown while Dex stares after her lustfully.
"I wanna take you over my knee and give you an erotic spanking."
"Mmm...I'm definitely up for some S&M lite."
Adam is having a one-on-one with some military general when Dominique drops by his hotel room and demands to know what he's plotting. Adam's like, "None of your business" and makes it clear he doesn't trust her, so Dominique reminds him that, without her, he doesn't stand a chance of getting anywhere near the elusive Ahmed.
Alexis tells Amanda she heard about her having dinner at Carrington manor, then reminds her that Blake is her sworn enemy and that she'd prefer it if she were not on friendly terms with him. Amanda snaps back that she'll see who she wants when she wants, and Alexis gets all contrite and apologizes for making mistakes that have been hurtful to her, but insists that it should simply be enough that she loves her. Amanda once again asks her to reveal her father's identity, then poutishly says, "If you love me, you'd tell me the truth."
"I hate Blake, so you have to hate him too."
"Sounds like an edict I can just easily ignore."
Alexis is eating a scrumptious looking lunch in her office when Ahmed calls from Turkey. He tells her that Dominique and Adam are currently in Turkey, doing their best to get him to sign papers that clear Blake from any misdeeds related to the botched South China Sea deal. When he asks her if she has the full skinny on what Blake has up his sleeve, Alexis snarkishly reminds him that not only did she pay him $5 million while they were both in Hong Kong, he saddled her with the bill for the expensive hotel suite, the flowers he sent her, and all the clothes he charged to the room. She calls him a disgrace, snaps, "Call Blake yourself!" and slams the phone down. Hee!
Krystle is looking over paint and fabric samples for her spawn's redecorated nursery as she mutters a prayer helping her to be a good mother and loving trophy wife to her old goat of a husband.
Steven wakes up early and glances over at the magazine Claudia had been reading the night before. When he sees that it contains an article about Dean Caldwell, he stares contemplatively into space, then gets out of bed without waking Claudia and tiptoes out of the room.
Steven heads to his office and finds Luke wringing his hands about yet another press release that needs approval from the higher ups. Sounds like a chronic problem the head of PR really needs to sort out. He invites Steven to join him for coffee and a danish, but Steven declines.
Adam, an army general, and a team of soldiers arrive at the gates of Ahmed's Turkish villa. Dominique rushes over and tells Adam that Ahmed has only two guards protecting him, and Adam thanks her for the intel and tells her to wait for him back at the hotel. The general tells Adam that they're going to move in on Ahmed soon, and Adam nods his approval and reminds him that he doesn't want Ahmed to get hurt.
Ahmed is startled when Adam suddenly appears before him on the patio. Adam informs him that when Dominique was over earlier, she planted a package of heroin in his villa...then reminds him that Turkish laws about drugs are strict, and says if he doesn't comply with his demands, the police will be summoned to conduct a drug raid. Ahmed wearily signs the letter that absolves Blake of all wrongdoing related to the wretched South China Sea deal - then pulls a gun on Adam and growls, "Vengeance is sweet" while snatching the letter back. As he flees through the courtyard, Adam warns him he'll never escape all the military sharp shooters who have quietly infiltrated his villa - but Ahmed ignores him and makes a run for his helicopter. The snipers fire warning shots - but Ahmed continues to run to his helicopter and gets fatally shot in the torso. As he lays dying on the ground, Adam wanders over to stare down at him with a 'WTF were you thinking?' expression...and once Ahmed makes a final death flop onto his side, Adam grabs the signed paper from his hand. The general then check's Ahmed's pulse and declares him a goner.
"My vengeance will be sweet."
"Not after I grab this signed letter out of your cold, dead hand."

Episode summary: Amanda goes to the press and outs Alexis as her bio mom. Steven meets Luke Fuller, a new gay ColbyCo employee. Krystle gets miffed when Blake refuses to reinstate her as Denver Carrington's PR manager.
Over at the La Mirage, Blake asks Dominique for help locating Rashid Ahmed, 'cause he wants him to admit that he double-crossed him on the South China Sea oil lease debacle, and hopes that this confession will do something to help recoup all the millions he's lost. Dominique agrees to help, then asks Blake if he'll finally trust her and declare to the world that she's his sister...but he shakes his head and says he's not prepared to promise anything like that.
Steven is packing up his office at ColbyCo when his [spoiler] future gay lover, Luke Fuller, stops by. He tells Steven he's the new executive assistant to the PR director and for some reason needs someone at Steven's level to sign off on a press release. Steven snappishly says he'll do it tomorrow...but then immediately regrets his bitchitude and quickly looks over the press release and gives him the green light to publish it. Luke remarks on how stressed he seems and takes the liberty of straightening his tie - just as Claudia arrives, gives the two a knowing look, and gets introduced as Steven's wife-beard. After Luke hastily excuses himself, Steven tells Claudia he can't make lunch 'cause he's off to Alexis' penthouse to see what her mood is like now that she's no longer in prison for Porn-'stache's murder.
"Meet my wife-beard, Claudia."
"Hello, competitor."
Krystle drops by the La Mirage to invite Claudia to lunch, but Claudia says she's too busy working...plus she continues to be irked that Steven didn't confide in her about witnessing Porn-'stache's murder. Krystle assures her that Steven loves her, but Claudia's convinced that they're drifting apart...not least 'cause ColbyCo just hired a new gay PR guy who's clearly smitten with her formerly (?) gay husband.
At the penthouse, Alexis is hosting a little 'Welcome home from prison, me!' party and has invited Dex, Steven, Claudia, Adam, and Jeff to attend. As everyone toasts Alexis' freedom, Amanda is somehow able to saunter into the apartment (once again without a key or access code) clutching a newspaper. She smugly informs everyone that she just outed Alexis as her bio mom...and Alexis snatches the paper from her, reads the scandalous headline 'Alexis Colby Secret Revealed', and snaps, "You little bitch!" and gives Amanda a hard smack across the face.
"This kind of treachery deserves a hard smack."
thwack!
Alexis and her adorable lapdog (!) are lounging in bed together, enjoying a leisurely breakfast when Amanda strides in and demands to know why she was summoned. Alexis tells her she needs to talk to her about some stuff, insists she fully deserved that hard face smack, and denies that giving her up at birth and then never ever mentioning her existence to anyone constitutes a betrayal. Alexis makes it clear that she'll tolerate no more public airing of their dirty laundry, then invites her to move into the penthouse...which makes sense, seeing as how Amanda just keeps wandering in and out of there whenever she feels like it anyway. Amanda squeals excitedly and says she's decided to change her last name to Carrington, since technically Alexis was still a Carrington when she gave birth...and Alexis rolls her eyes and dismissively retorts, "That's part of my past."
Krystle's obstetrician gives her a clean bill of health, and also gives her the OK to go back to her PR job at Denver Carrington. On her way out, she runs into Alexis, who weirdly assumes she was just at the jewelers (located next door to the doctor's) and even more weirdly warns her about how Blake will turn on her if she so much as makes one false move. Krystle smugly replies, "I don't make false moves" and climbs into her chauffeured car.
Back at the penthouse, Alexis tells Dex she wants to call off their romantic vacation so she can work things out with Amanda, and Dex gets miffed and grumbles, "But I already booked the yacht! Plus, I was going to propose!" When Alexis visibly flinches at the prospect of matrimony, Dex says that despite her being "married" to her children, business, and memories of Blake "there's been more fire between us than any man you've ever had in your life." Alexis concurs that, yep, things always get super hot whenever they hit the sheets, then makes it clear that she's saying no to marriage, not the fire. Dex tries to storm off angrily, but she pulls him toward her and coos, "Dex...Dex...don't go" ... and when he sullenly tells her to give him a reason to stay, she plants a big smooch on his lips and whispers, "Make love to me" and he perks up and looks all into it.
At the La Mirage, Amanda complains to Adam that her whole life has suddenly changed now that she's Alexis' long lost daughter...and Adam agrees that, yep, learning you have totally different bio parents decades later is definitely an adjustment. Jeff stumbles over and asks who "the blonde" is, then pretends he just remembered that her name is Amanda. That was a bizarre exchange. Adam growls at him to lower his voice and get lost...and once he's out of earshot, Amanda just shrugs and says she doesn't mind being at the center of an embarrassing spectacle. Adam remarks that she's a lot like Fallon...but way cuter and nicer to talk to - like a Fallon 6.0 - and then the two sit down at a table and stare at each other with intrigued expressions.
Post-doink, Alexis sneaks out of bed and tiptoes downstairs to call Rosalind in London. When she chides her cousin for allowing Amanda to travel to the U.S., Rosalind wryly tells her that Amanda is impossible to stop once she sets her mind to something (just like Fallon! LOL). Alexis warns her that if Blake happens to call and ask her about Amanda's bio dad, she's to reveal nothing...then warns that if she blabs the truth, she'll rat her husband out for his recent embezzlement schemes.
Krystle puts on a nun's habit style maternity frock and joins Blake at the breakfast table. He happily tells her that a well in Alaska struck oil last night, which means he doesn't have anymore cash flow problems. Krystle's like, "That's nice" and tells him how excited she is to return to work...and Blake stares back at her blankly and goes, "Work..?" then shakes his head and says, "Nope, I can't allow that." Krystle says the doctor gave her the OK to return to Denver Carrington, but Blake argues that it's too risky for her to be out in the world in her delicate condition, then points out that there's probably not much point to her coming back to Denver Carrington, since she's already seven months pregnant and would just have to leave again in a few weeks. Fair point. Krystle gets miffed and asks him if he thinks she doesn't fit in with his business anymore 'cause of what happened during the last episode with Hal Lombard, but Blake insists that his concern has nothing to do with that creep, and that her only job at the moment is to be a baby incubator until she's ready to deliver a healthy Carrington heir.
"Denver Carrington has a strict policy to not hire heavily pregnant trophy wives."
"That seems arbitrary."
Dominique informs Blake that she found Rashid Ahmed in Turkey, and he's like, "Great!" and orders her to fly there asap and somehow get him to confess to double-crossing him on the South China Sea deal so he can be all, "A-ha!" and hope it results in something positive happening for Denver Carrington.
Blake tracks down Adam in the mansion's workout room and tells him he wants him to accompany Dominique to Turkey 'cause he doesn't trust her and needs someone to keep an eye on her...and Adam's all, "Fuuuuuuuuck...why does it have to be me?" That's the spirit.
Dominique is dining at the La Mirage with Blake and Krystle when they notice Alexis and Amanda enter the restaurant. Amanda approaches their table and introduces herself, and wanks Blake about what a devilishly handsome silver fox he is. She informs everyone that she's officially changing her name to Amanda Carrington...and Blake's all, "But won't that be confusing?" (very funny, show), then says he figured she'd be a lot younger. When he asks her how old she is, Alexis interjects by snapping, "It's rude to ask a woman her age" and pulls Amanda away from the table and steers her out of the restaurant. Blake stares after them with a contemplative expression on his face.
Blake calls Rosalind Bedford and peppers her with questions about who Alexis was doinking around the time she got pregnant with Amanda - but Rosalind says that Alexis deserves her privacy and declines to reveal anything. A few seconds later, Krystle ambles into the study looking pensively disgruntled, and a contrite looking Blake says he doesn't want to quarrel anymore about refusing to reinstate her in his company. Krystle explains that she mostly wants to come back to Denver Carrington so they don't start drifting apart, but Blake just shrugs and urges her to think about the new life she's about to bring into the world...and to please shut up about her career aspirations.
Amanda is having breakfast at the penthouse when Dex breezes in and shoots her a stink-eyed glare mixed with raw desire. She asks him whassup with all the sexy hostility, so he comes right out and accuses her of sponging off of Alexis...then sourly says she fits right in with her brothers, who always expect "mummy" to solve their problems. Amanda retorts, "Mummy is our problem...maybe she's yours too" and makes it clear she's in Denver to stay, and that if he makes Alexis choose between them, he'll lose.
"You're a spoiled, self centered brat who's content to live off of her rich mummy."
"You're secretly hot for me, aren't you?"
Later, Nicole stares at a photo of Peter De Vilbis and sadly says, "You died too soon", then leaves her room to meet up with Jeff for dinner.
Steven and Claudia are about to go out for dinner when Luke Fuller calls to inform Steven that there's been an oil spill in Santa Barbara that requires an immediate press release - which, in turn, requires Steven to go to the office so that he can personally sign off on it. I wonder why Luke can't just refer the signing off of these type of things to his boss, the PR director. Steven says he'll be there soon, then tells Claudia he has an emergency press release to attend to...and she gets angry and storms into the bathroom.
Claudia is sitting at the La Mirage bar, staring glumly into space, when a good looking man seats himself beside her and introduces himself as Dean Caldwell. He explains that he owns an art gallery and that they met at a charity ball last year. He then jokes about how miserable she looks and invites her to join him for dinner, and she's like, "Sure, why the hell not?"
Blake spots Amanda shopping in downtown Denver and asks his driver to pull over. He leaps out of his car and offers to help her with her packages, then tries to get the skinny on her father. She tells him she has no idea who he is, and repeats Alexis' nonsense about being fathered by a nameless ski instructor in Switzerland. When she reveals that she's twenty-one years old, Blake scrunches his wrinkly face in confused contemplation.
Blake marches over to the penthouse and snarls, "There was no ski instructor!" and points out to Alexis that the math doesn't support that lie. Alexis says she's furious that he spoke to Amanda without her consent and says she has nothing to do with him - but Blake says he's pretty sure that Amanda's his daughter [or, at the very least, Roger Grimes' daughter] and that he's determined to get confirmation of her paternity. As he storms off, Alexis cries, "You'll never prove it! Never!" and shakes her head dramatically from side to side.

Original airdate: 11/14/1984
Episode summary: Dex and Adam uncover evidence that exonerates Alexis. Dominique reveals her plan to strip Blake of his wealth. Amanda makes her first appearance as Alexis' long lost daughter.
An attractive blonde, British-accented woman - our first glimpse of long lost Carrington daughter, Amanda! - shows up at the detention center to pay a visit to Alexis, but is told by the clerk-guard that she must first apply for permission. She's like, "Er, OK..?" and begins filling out the paperwork - just as Dex strides over and gives her an appreciative once-over. Amanda makes it clear that she too likes what she sees, then tells the clerk-guard to forget about her visit request, 'cause she doubts Alexis would want to see her anyway.
Steven is up late, working the phones to keep business running smoothly at ColbyCo. Claudia urges him to chillax and get ready for bed, and he perks up at the mention of bed and purrs, "Mmm...I like the sound of that." Claudia's all, "Ick" and refuses to indulge his horny impulses and chides him for always using sex to stifle his emotions...and he shoots her an irritated stink-eye and storms out of the room.
Blake invites Dominique over to the mansion to celebrate Denver Carrington getting back on its feet financially, courtesy of her sizable investment. He and Krystle usher her into the study, where they sip champagne and look over a map of prospective drilling sites. Dominique fights the urge to yawn and says she should probably get going now...and once she's out of earshot, Krystle tells Blake it's obvious he doesn't trust the woman. Before Blake can retort, he gets a phone call from Hong Kong and barks at whoever he's talking to, "I want Ahmed found quickly!", which was kind of random, but OK.
Dex is questioning a bartender at the La Mirage about who Mark Jennings mostly hung out with when he worked at the hotel. The bartender reports that, aside from his blechy May-December fling with Alexis, he only ever saw him hang out with disgraced ex-Congressman Neil McVane. Mmm hmm..
Back at the detention center, Alexis tells Adam she's miffed to hear that Denver Carrington is bouncing back after nearly going bankrupt...and Adam explains that it's only 'cause Blake got a ginormous infusion of cash from the extremely wealthy Dominique Deveraux. Alexis curses Dominique for putting a wrench in her plan to destroy Blake, then implores Adam again to pleeeeeeeease get her out of this wretched prison.
"Damn that Dominique for meddling in my nefarious plot to meddle in Blake's finances."
"I'm guessing that the irony of that is completely lost on you."
Steven stops by the mansion to tell Blake he's been negotiating with Hal Lombard to acquire the Flatlands Field, and to make it clear he's doing this solely for the good of ColbyCo and not to deliberately piss him off. Blake says he also plans to woo Hal over the bid and predicts, "It's going to be one helluva fight", then asks Steven if he's doing this to get back on Alexis' good side. When Steven admits that, yep, that's the primary motivator, Blake warns him not to get sucked in by Alexis's manipulations - but Steven's like, "Whatever" and says he's still going to do whatever it takes to win.
Billy Dee Williams makes a surprising reappearance on Dynasty and drops by Dominique's La Mirage suite, demanding to know why she sold her casino and two nightclubs without telling him. She says she did it to free up the money so she could transfer it to Blake...and when Billy Dee scrunches his face in puzzlement and asks what her involvement with the old goat is, she tells him he's her half brother. Billy Dee's all, "Wha-a-a-a?!" and asks why she'd float him that much cash, so she tells him she did it so "he could regain his crown" so she could promptly snatch it away from him...and by it she means the company, his mansion, and whatever other valuable assets he owns. Billy Dee mulls that over and decides he likes the idea of Dominique getting everything she strongly feels she's entitled to and asks her if she really thinks she can bury Blake Carrington. She smugly replies, "I always get what I want" ... and then the two start going at it.
"I want to completely strip Blake of his wealth so that I can have it!"
"Your cutthroat deviousness is getting me all hot and bothered."
Dex and Adam decide to join forces and follow up on various leads that could potentially exonerate Alexis - leads that Adam, for some reason, didn't think to follow up on during his prep for the trial. The two convene at the penthouse, where Amanda suddenly sashays down the stairs, shoots Dex a come hither grin, and casually strolls into the elevator. Dex is all, "The fuck was that?", then tells Adam he saw that hottie at the detention center earlier.
Dex pays Alexis another visit and tells her that a good looking blonde woman was wandering around her penthouse, and Alexis just kind of shrugs and says she can't imagine who that might be, and chalks up the home invasion to "a curiosity seeker". She quickly changes the subject to how hard it is for her to be caged up all day, and Dex assures her he's pretty sure that a key piece of evidence that will blow the Porn-'stache murder case wide open will reveal itself before the end credits start rolling.
Dominique tells Billy Dee Williams she knows he's been having financial trouble with whatever business he's currently running, and he sheepishly nods and says he didn't want to 'fess up to his failures. He then says he's worried about the state of their marriage 'cause he doesn't think she would have abandoned her plot to destroy Blake in favor of directing the necessary resources to help out her own husband...and when Dominique just stares quietly into space, he gives her a cheek kiss and exits the suite.
Over lunch, Claudia chides Steven for not telling her that he witnessed Alexis tossing Mark over the balcony the night he was killed...and is also miffed that he chose to confide this in Krystle instead of her. She tells him that their marriage isn't worth anything if he's not honest with her [or goes back to doinking men], and an irked Steven tells her to not make a big deal out of this.
Dex enters the penthouse looking for Adam for another meeting of the minds. When there's no sign of him, he steps onto the balcony and is startled when he sees what appears to be Alexis standing near the railing. Adam steps out of the shadows and demonstrates that "the person" he thought was Alexis is actually a mannequin with a poofy brown hairdo that strongly resembles Alexis. He says, "We've been going about this the wrong way" and tells Dex he now believes that some nefarious person someone wanted Steven to think he witnessed Alexis committing the murder.
"I stole this mannequin out of a store window to demonstrate that any dummy - see what I did there? - could have dressed up that night to look like Alexis."
"Thanks for the needless visual aid."
Blake is wooing Hal Lombard at the mansion in an effort to secure the Flatlands Field when Krystle enters the room and is all "Ack!" by the sight of the creep. Hal walks over to her and expresses regret for her "interpretation of my behavior" and hands her a small token of his non-apology: a glittery bracelet. Krystle stares at him in utter incredulity and tells him she recently sold all of her jewelry - except for her wedding ring, which is all she wants or needs, then whirls around and stalks out of the room. Hal gets visibly upset and tells Blake that his cunty wife now owes him an apology - but Blake says she doesn't owe him shit and urges him to stick to business. Hal's like, "Fuck that" and says he was about to sign a letter of intent for Denver Carrington's successful bid on the Flatlands Field, but is now refusing 'cause of what a giant dickwad Krystle still thinks he is - LOL - and storms out.
Later, Krystle chides Blake for bringing that scumbag into their home after the creepy way he came onto her last time he was over, and Blake snarlingly points out that if she hadn't come home sooner than expected, she wouldn't have ruined his deal. He admonishes her for being naive about business, then comes right out and tells her she's "turning into a problem". Yeesh. Sounds like Blake's metamorphosing back into the douchewad husband he was during much of Season 1.
Adam and Dex get one of Dina's photographs developed as a blow-up and they're like, "Jackpot!" when they see that it shows a person standing next to Mark on the balcony who is clearly not Alexis.
Steven stops by the detention center to discuss ColbyCo business with Alexis, but she just glares hatefully at him and says he no longer works at the company 'cause she no longer has a son named Steven Carrington. Steven tells her he wishes he hadn't seen what he thinks he saw that night...but since he did, he had no choice but to tell the jury. He changes the subject to Hal Lombard and tells her that he scored Flatlands Field, but she looks unimpressed and says there's no amount of money that can buy her love...then snarkishly tells him to stay away 'cause the sight of him makes her sick. Ouch.
A dejected Steven returns to Carrington manor and runs into Krystle in the vestibule. He glumly tells her he just visited Alexis, and that she refuses to forgive him for testifying against her in court. Krystle reminds him that Alexis is extremely distraught at the moment, but is certain that deep down she loves her children and will eventually come around.
Adam and Dex march over to Neil McVane's apartment, barge their way inside, and accuse him of killing Mark Jennings. When McVane pretends he has no idea what they're talking about, Adam shows him the photo they just had developed, which shows McVane standing on the penthouse balcony wearing a poofy brown wig and Alexis' black cape. When Dex snarls, "Was it you??", McVane slumps into a sofa chair, stares contemplatively into space, and spacily says he worked very hard to get to the top...and that, in one fell swoop, Alexis destroyed him and made him into a laughingstock. [I notice he conveniently left out the part about the genesis for him becoming a laughingstock: his pedophile-esque affair with a governor's underage daughter.] He admits to becoming enraged at Mark for reneging on their plan to exact revenge on Alexis, so he retaliated by sneaking into the penthouse through the service entrance, found Mark standing on the balcony, quickly disguised himself to look like Alexis so that she'd be framed for the murder, and shoved Mark's stunt dummy to its death. He then glares up at Dex and Adam and growls, "He deserved to die!"
"We all go a little mad sometimes."
"And here I thought Adam was the most twisted guy on the show."
Krystle tells Blake she's unpleasantly surprised to hear that Alexis was unjustly framed for murder, and Blake condescendingly tells her she's so childlike in the way she sees the world: as black and white. She refrains from smacking the old goat for talking down to her and tells him she's sorry he lost the bid for the Flatlands Field. He demands to know if he can count on her trust and support, or expect her to continue to challenge and doubt him...and Krystle says that while she loves him, she's not going to turn her conscience over to him. He shakes his head in dismay and growls, "Then I think we're in for a stormy time" and ambles out of the room while Krystle stares after him with a look of pensive concern.
Alexis makes a triumphant return to her penthouse, wearing an elaborate fur ensemble that she felt the need to deck herself out in for the short ride home from the detention center. Dex urges her to go upstairs and get some rest - just as Amanda comes sauntering into the living room. When Dex asks her why in blazes she keeps popping up in a penthouse she has no business being in, she explains that she's a guest on the tenth floor...which, I guess, implies that she's somehow able to wander into this private residence without a key or access code. When Dex threatens to call the police, Alexis says, "No, don't. I know her" and asks him to leave her alone with this mysterious stranger...and he just kind of shrugs disinterestedly and hops onto the elevator. Alexis haughtily asks Amanda what she's doing here, and Amanda says she heard she was in trouble and flew to Denver to see if there was anything she could do to help. When she punctuates that last thing with the word mother, Alexis stares back at her with a strange mixture of disdain and incredulity.

Episode summary: After damaging testimony from Steven, the jury in Alexis' murder trial reaches a verdict.
Blake tells Krystle he's off to the bank to beg Avril Dawson for more money 'cause apparently one of Denver Carrington's biggest oil fields is drying up, and he doesn't want his cash flow to dry up...plus, the next mortgage payment to Alexis is due soon and he doesn't want to risk foreclosure. Krystle tells him that Steven has been called to testify against Alexis, now that word has finally gotten out he saw what happened at the penthouse the night Mark's stunt dummy was pitched off the balcony. Blake scrunches his face concernedly and says it's going to suck for Steven to have to "crucify his own mother".
Jeff is playing tennis at the La Mirage with a cute blonde when a different cute blonde sashays over to invite him over to her suite for a private lunch. Jeff says he can't do lunch and suggests dinner, but she says she can't make it and will call him another time. The tennis blonde looks miffed and remarks on how many women he's currently juggling, then snarkishly adds, "No wonder Fallon divorced you." Haha! Jeff bitterly retorts that he should have gone ahead and cheated on Fallon 'cause she seemed to prefer being in the company of philandering hustlers. A few seconds later, he walks past a radio that just happens to be broadcasting a news report on Alexis' trial, and the report specifically mentions that Steven Carrington has just been called to testify.
Inside the judge's chambers, Adam snarks at Michael Cunningham for unexpectedly calling Steven to the stand, so Michael explains that he was only recently made aware of Steven's presence at the scene of the crime. Adam implores the judge to give him extra time to prepare for his cross-examination of Steven, but the judge refuses to drag out this tedious storyline any longer than necessary and tells him the trial will resume as scheduled.
Michael cross-examines Steven on the stand, dramatically asking him where he was when Mark's stunt dummy plunged to its death...and when Steven says he had just arrived at his mother's penthouse building, the courtroom spectators gasp and titter excitedly. LOL. He explains that he was there 'cause he was bringing over some papers Alexis needed to sign - but before he had a chance to enter her building, he was startled by the sight of Mark's stunt dummy being thrown off the penthouse floor balcony. Michael asks him if he saw the person who pushed Mark to his death, and Steven is forced to admit that, yep, he saw his mother on the balcony...even though it's a pretty long way up to the penthouse balcony from the ground level, and without a set of binoculars handy, I highly doubt it'd be possible for anyone staring up from the sidewalk to make a definitive, positive ID that could stand up as evidence in a murder trial. Alexis looks shocked by Steven's implausible revelation and springs up from her chair and shrieks, "That's a lie!" and asks Steven how he could dooooooo this to his own mother.
"You must have superhuman vision to be able to ID your mother from such a vast distance."
"Would you believe that the inspiration for my Dynasty character was Steve Austin..?"
Back at the Denver Detention Center, an enraged Alexis rails at Steven for giving such damaging testimony - and he retorts by insisting that he really did see her kill Mark. Alexis vigorously denies committing Porn-'stache's murder, throws it into Steven's face that she [obviously reluctantly] accepted his gay lifestyle when no one else in the family would, then shrieks, "Right now I disown you! I no longer have a gay son named Steven!"
Blake is summoned to the La Mirage by Dominique and joins her at her table in the patio restaurant for a decadent lunch. She hands him a check for $50 million and sassily declares that, in exchange for the investment, she wants 51% of Denver Carrington. Blake refuses and says it's always been a family held corporation...and when Dominique reminds him that she's claiming to be family, Blake clarifies that since he's the company's founder, he wouldn't be willing to give away 51% of the company to anyone for any amount. He offers her 40% of the company for an investment of $70 million, and she chirps, "Deal!" and the two shake on it. She gushes about how excited she is about getting in on a great oil deal...and when Blake promises to make her a fortune, she solemnly declares, "I want to be a Carrington at any cost", and Blake reacts by staring mutely into space as the two clink their glasses of champagne.
Blake drops by the detention center to give Alexis a check that covers the balance of the mortgage on Carrington manor...even though Alexis currently has no way of cashing the check. He changes the subject to Steven and urges her to look past her anger at their son and try to understand how agonizing it must have been for him to testify against his own mother. Alexis stubbornly refuses to forgive him, or any of her enemies for that matter, and vows that once she's done crawling her way out of this hellish predicament, she's going to make everyone pay for their treachery. So there!
Blake and Krystle are dining at La Mirage when a sleazy business associate of Blake's, Hal Lombard, stops by their table. He tells Blake he heard from Billy Waite that he's been trying to scrape together a giant loan to restructure Denver Carrington, then chides Blake for not coming to him to beg for money. Blake says he assumed that the loan would be too high risk for him, but that he'll keep him in mind next time he needs a large infusion of cash...which should be soon, considering how rapidly Blake seems to be burning through multi-million dollar loans. Hal looks satisfied enough with that, then starts bellyaching about the shitty living conditions he's enduring during his Denver stay, so Blake invites him to crash at Carrington manor. Hal's like, "Yippee!" and rushes off to pack...and when Krystle says that Hal seems like a nice guy, Blake warns her he's a sleazy cretin, and that he's only being nice to him 'cause he has the kind of cash he may need to borrow.
The next day, Krystle is called to testify at Alexis' trial...and when Adam asks her what her relationship is to the accused, she calls it strained...which I thought was a pretty mild descriptor considering the various 'punch and slap' cat fights the two have slugged it out in over the past three seasons. When Adam asks her about her last conversation with Mark, she testifies that he told her he felt on top of the world, but that he knew of someone who wanted to push him "off of that world" ... then is forced to admit that Mark never directly associated Alexis with that threat.
"Despite the irrelevance of this question, what sorts of feelings do you harbor towards Alexis Colby?"
"The kind I'm feeling right now: pensive hatred."
Inside the judge's chambers, the judge cautions Alexis against defending herself in court. Alexis assures him that she knows all the risks, but somehow still considers herself fully competent to act as her own attorney.
Alexis takes the stand and tells the jury the truth as she sees it. She testifies that on the night Mark fell to his death, he was drunk and propositioned her for sex...which she reacted to by telling him to get lost, and then went upstairs to shower and change for Fallon's engagement party. When she came back downstairs, Mark was no longer there, so she assumed he had left...and it was only when she arrived at La Mirage for her daughter's engagement party that she heard about his grisly splatting. When Michael cross-examines her, he asks her to confirm if she wore a black beaded dress with a matching cape...and she admits that, yes, she wore a black beaded dress, but not a cape. Apparently, it hadn't been delivered to the penthouse, so she opted to wear her fur instead. (This is surely a detail that will be important to us later.) Michael dramatically pulls the black cape out of a bag and says that the police had found it stuffed in a trash can near her building, then shows the jury a large rip in the cape and speculates about how it must have gotten ripped when Mark grabbed onto it for dear life. Alexis continues testifying that since Mark had long overstayed his welcome on Dynasty, he was becoming such a pain-in-the-ass for her that she gave him 100K just to get rid of him...and Michael perks up at that and asks her precisely how much of a pain-in-the-ass he was. Alexis takes the bait and instantly gets all heated as she rails to the court that Porn-'stache was a cheap hustler who was beneath contempt and, yes, deserved to die - and the courtroom spectators are all, "Wha-a-a?!" and begin tittering in earnest. LOL. Alexis stares sheepishly at the jury and adds, "But I didn't kill him!" while Michael grins smugly at the outburst he was just able to successfully provoke.
"Porn-'stache was a sack of shit who desperately needed killin'!"
Oops
- her being married to Blake (ew)
- her being knocked up by Blake (gross)
- his own marriage being on the rocks (shocker)
Krystle orders him to get the hell out of Carrington manor, and Hal grins stupidly and cackles, "It's been a pleasure. Nearly", then saunters out of the room. What a weirdo.
Later, Krystle informs Blake that she threw Hal out of the house for making a blechy pass at her, and concurs about what a sleazy cretin he is. Blake chuckles and chides her for taking Hal so seriously and explains that it's the man's mission in life to flirt with every beautiful woman he stumbles across. Krystle somehow restrains herself from smacking him for the obnoxiously sexist remark and calls Hal's inappropriate behavior offensive and makes it clear that she never wants to see the creep again. Blake agrees and says that from now on he'll conduct business with Hal at the office...and Krystle looks appalled that he'd still be willing to do business with a scumbag like that.
"Hal made it perfectly clear that he wanted to hit the sheets with me."
"Isn't it just like a woman to misinterpret a horny man's friendly banter."
Later, Alexis is lounging on her detention center bed when Adam drops by to tell her she did an awesome job on her closing statement...after the clusterfuckery that was her lawyer-less testimony. She cries, "At least I have one son who cares!" and the two hug.
Steven is wandering around Alexis' penthouse, then steps onto the balcony and looks down towards the street and has another flashback of Mark's stunt dummy hurtling towards the ground. Dex suddenly appears behind him, demands to know what he's doing here, and chides him for hating his own mother. As the two start bickering, Dex taunts Steven by accusing him of blaming Alexis for turning him "into the sniveling fag he's always been", and Steven's all, "The fuck you just say??!" and lunges at him. The two roll around the balcony, where Steven nearly gets thrown over the railing (!), then crash through the patio door and continue rolling around the living room. After punching each other in the face, the two idiots collapse on the carpet, too exhausted to fight anymore.
Alexis is told by the detention guard to get dressed 'cause the jury has reached a verdict.
Inside the courtroom, the verdict is passed to the judge, who passes it to his clerk. She declares that in the matter of Mark's unfortunate demise, Alexis has been found guilty in the first degree. Egads! Amid all the tittering among the courtroom spectators, the camera pans over the cast...and we see that Adam, Steven, and Dex are staring grimly into space, while Michael Cunningham and Krystle do little to hide their glee at the guilty verdict.

"Your Honor, we move for an immediate dismissal of this tedious storyline."
Original airdate: 10/31/1984
Episode summary: Blake testifies at Alexis' murder trial. Steven tells Krystle he witnessed the killing of Mark Jennings...but never thought to mention it to anyone before now.
Krystle wanders into the mansion's games room and finds a troubled looking Steven shooting pool. She wanks him about how nice to her he was when she first became Blake's live-in trophy girlfriend, then says she'd like to return the favor and be a comforting sounding board for him. Steven contorts his face into a torturous expression and moans, "I've tried sooooo hard to wipe it out of my mind", then reveals that he saw Mark Jennings' killer. Krystle shoots him a stricken look of bewilderment and is all, "Say what?!", so he tells her that on the night of the murder, he had just arrived at his mother's penthouse building to drop off some papers and happened to see Mark's stunt dummy hurtling towards the ground...and when he looked up towards the balcony, he saw what appeared to be a man. Krystle asks him who it was, and somehow refrains from also asking why in the fuck he's never told any of this to the police, not least because his mother is on trial for Mark's murder - but he gets weirdly evasive and says, "Let's just forget about it." LOL. Krystle stares back at him in utter credulity as he reminds her that a moment ago she offered to be his friendly confidante...and that if she wants to stay in his good graces, she's going to have to keep her mouth shut about the bombshell he just dropped. What a bizarre, moody turd he is.
"I'm pretty sure I know who killed Porn-'stache."
"And yet you let this tedious storyline drag on well into Season 5?"
Steven has a nightmare about Mark's killing and dreams that he sees Alexis standing on the balcony, which seems like a weird contradiction to his earlier claim to Krystle that the killer was a man. He wakes up in a cold sweat just as Claudia comes to bed, gives him a shoulder massage, and coos about how tense he's been lately. She urges him to open up to her more, but he says he's not interesting in talking anything out...and smoochingly mounts her despite her protests of him using hetero sex to block out his emotions.
Alexis arrives in court for the first day of her murder trial...and on her way to the courtroom, she's confronted by a sassy reporter named Philip Spaulding, who snidely asks her whassup with ColbyCo and refers to it as "a foundering ship". Alexis rails about his sick vendetta against her, then barks at Adam to immediately file a suit against him and "the rag he works for". Adam irritably reminds her that he's kinda busy defending her in the murder trial that's about to get underway, and grabs her by the arm and forcibly steers her towards the courtroom, where Michael Cunningham smarmily greets him and chuckles about his lack of trial experience. A few minutes later, court is in session...and Michael and Adam deliver their opening remarks. Michael claims that Alexis had motive and opportunity to kill her porn-'stache bodyguard, while Adam says that the case is a mockery based on weak circumstantial evidence.
Dominique invites Krystle over to the La Mirage to chit-chat and "make a friend inside the castle". Krystle comes right out and says she doesn't trust her, not least 'cause she's worried how she'll affect Blake, who's been hurt a lot this season. Dominique assures her that she has no intention of hurting Blake...but that it's nice to know her half-brother has such a protective, caring wife. She declares that one day she will be accepted as a Carrington and that someone (meaning Blake) is going to have to acknowledge her soon...or else.
A drunk Jeff is in bed, getting it on with a pretty blonde woman we've never seen before. He murmurs, "Mmm...you're so beautiful...God, I love you, Fallon..." and the blonde pauses the naked canoodling and goes, "Who the hell is Fallon?!" Jeff looks startled at having uttered his "dead" fiancee's name and breezily tells her that Fallon is just someone he knew when he was a kid. The woman reminds him that her name is Amy, then orders him to put his clothes on and get the hell out of her apartment.
"I love you soooo much, Fallon."
"Oops...I mean, uh, Joyce? Angie? Betty? Tell me if I'm in the right ballpark."
During the trial, an elderly woman named Dina Hartley is on the witness stand, testifying that she lives directly across the street from Alexis' building and saw Mark standing on the balcony on the night of his murder. She adds that she saw someone on the balcony with him, but isn't sure if it was a man or woman, though she thinks it might possibly have been a woman. That sounds vague and unhelpful. For some reason Alexis gets so alarmed at the unstated implication that she was the murderer that she springs up from her chair and shouts, "What are you trying to do to me?! Liar!" LOL. She implores Adam to get the case dismissed, and he points out that he has no grounds to move for a dismissal and that she needs to keep quiet when court is in session. He requests a recess to confer with his client, and the judge grants him twenty minutes.
"Pleeeeease, Adam. Make this murder trial magically disappear. I beg of you!"
"Your Honor, I'd like to request a recess so I can privately slap some sense into my mother."
Blake receives a subpoena from the District Attorney's office to testify at Alexis' trial, and he and Krystle are all, "Wha-at is this??"
The next day, Blake is on the witness stand, testifying that he and Alexis were married for nine tumultuous years before he filed for divorce after catching her in the sack with Roger Grimes...but conveniently leaves out the part about how he nearly beat Grimes to death with a large candlestick. Michael Cunningham asks him to describe "a certain incident" that occurred during a country club dinner, so Blake tells the court that Alexis had objected to something or other he'd said at dinner, then picked up a knife and shouted 'I'll kill you!' Michael perks up at the word kill, then dramatically leans toward Blake and needlessly asks him to clarify if kill means kill in "the commission of a violent act" sense of the word. Blake's like, "Er, yeah..?" and the courtroom spectators begin tittering excitedly. LOL. Michael asks Blake if he thinks Alexis is capable of violence...and after mulling over that question for a few seconds, he replies, "If provoked, yes."
"Do you mean kill as in snuff, waste, obliterate, exterminate?"
"Rub out, terminate, finish off, put to death. Yes, I'm pretty sure we all know what kill means."
Dex drops by the detention center to visit Alexis, who's in an exuberant mood now that she's convinced herself that the trial is going well for her. She tells Dex that once this pesky legal proceeding resolves itself, she wants the two of them to go on a long romantic trip...and Dex looks into the idea, gives her an intense smooch, and the two earnestly exchange I love yous.
Krystle tells Blake she's a little miffed at him for offering testimony that might help Alexis get off for murder. Blake reminds her that it's the jury who decides whether or not she's guilty...but Krystle's like, "Whatever" and says she hates that Alexis is never held accountable for her crimes - like, for example, the time she shot her skeet rifle and spooked Krystle's horse and caused her to have a miscarriage. She says she has a bad feeling that Alexis really did kill Mark Jennings and that she's going to get away with it...despite Steven telling her earlier he's pretty sure he spotted a man standing on the balcony right after seeing Mark's stunt dummy hurtling through the air.
Steven has another flashback of Mark's stunt dummy plunging to its death and is so troubled that he climbs out of bed and gets dressed. He tells Claudia he needs to go out and get some air.
Steven stops by the Denver Detention Center early the next morning to declare to Alexis that he loves her no matter what happens in the next day or so. Alexis senses nothing amiss with that odd pronouncement and coos about how much she's always loved him...and that she can't wait to be acquitted and make a home-cooked meal for him.
As Alexis sashays over to the courtroom for day two of her trial, she runs into Philip Spaulding - but this time she's able to smugly point out that ColbyCo's stock went up (after it went down the day before). I'm not a stock expert, but isn't that generally how the stock market functions?
Michael Cunningham dramatically announces that he's calling Steven Daniel Carrington to the witness stand, causing a lot of excited tittering among the courtroom spectators. As the Dynasty cast members gasp in surprise, the camera pans around the courtroom to capture the various levels of shock on everyone's face.

"We are gathered here to mourn the passing of Fallon Carrington Colby, pre horrendous recast."
Original airdate: 10/24/1984
Episode summary: The Carringtons (and Alexis) come together for Fallon's funeral. Adam rescues Danny from Sammy Jo's motel room. Dominique reveals a startling secret to Blake.
At Carrington manor, Claudia and Krystle are having breakfast and recalling their fondest memories of Lindsay (blech) and Fallon. Blake telephones to inform Krystle that the Seattle sheriff has confirmed that Fallon was one of the two plane crash fatalities, then says that he and Jeff will be jetting back to Denver with her charred, unidentifiable remains. Krystle moans, "I'm soooo sorry", and Claudia contorts her face into a mournful expression before bursting into tears.
Steven is in the attic, crying as he looks at his and Fallon's childhood toys. Blake tiptoes into the room and tells him that this type of devastating loss can bring the family together - but Steven argues that if by family he means Adam, then no way in hell is he willing to even be civil to the man, then whines again about how pissed he still is that Sammy Jo absconded with Danny under Adam's watch. He tells Blake that later in the episode he'll be meeting up with Sammy Jo in a Los Angeles diner, and Blake assures him he'll do his best to help wrap up this tedious kidnapping subplot and get the tot safely back into Carrington custody.
Jeff is broodily binge-drinking in the study when Blake ambles into the room and suggests they plan a small funeral for Fallon, with just family members and a sprinkling of loyal household servants in attendance. Jeff's like, "Fine, whatever...I really don't give a shit about the hussy's final goodbye" and continues to broodily binge-drink.
"We'll have a tasteful graveside ceremony to celebrate Fallon's colorful life choices."
"You can throw that traitor's charred remains in the dumpster for all I care."
Blake drops by the Denver Detention Center, where Alexis is forced to wear standard issue prison garb. She poutishly asks if something happened to Fallon...and after stammering incoherently for a few seconds, Blake tells her it's been confirmed: their daughter was [presumed] killed in a plane crash. Alexis is all, "Nooooo!!" and lashes out at Blake for stealing her children [long before Dynasty began filming] ... then sobbingly falls into his arms and squeaks, "What are we going to dooooo?!"
"Even though you ripped my children away from me years ago..."
"...I'm still secretly in love with you."
The next morning, Little Blake is sitting at the top of the mansion's main staircase, clutching his teddy and staring sadly into space. Jeff lowers himself next to him, asks him how he's doing, and assures him that his mommy is in heaven and no longer suffering from headaches. Little Blake sadly says his beloved puppy also left him to go to heaven, but that he'd much prefer it if both his puppy and mommy came back...and Jeff tears up and gives his tiny son a hug.
Dex is at the Denver Detention Center, puffing on a cigarette and visiting with Alexis, who wails that it never occurred to her that anyone in law enforcement would think she was fleeing the U.S. when she flew to Caracas while being out on bail, despite the judge sternly warning her to not leave the state of Colorado or else. Dex hands her a cigarette and admits he's growing increasingly concerned about all the circumstantial evidence that's starting to stack up against her, but Alexis says she doesn't want to talk 'bout that right now 'cause she's far too sad about Fallon's faux death to worry about her prison problems. She pleads with Dex to get her out of the Detention Center...and when he helplessly says there's nothing he can do to make that happen, she bangs on the door and cries, "Please let me out of here!"
The Carringtons - including Alexis, who must have gotten a day pass from the Detention Center - gather at the cemetery for Fallon's funeral. After a brief intro from the minister, the camera pans across the faces of the grief stricken mourners, and then Blake and Alexis deliver tearful goodbyes to their dearly departed daughter. When the coffin starts getting lowered, Jeff angrily growls, "If you really loved me, you wouldn't have left me for that bum. You bitch!" - bwahahahahaha! - and Blake shoots him the stink-eye and snarlingly asks him what the hell he's doing, desecrating his daughter's funeral like a drunken fool. Jeff hangs his head in shame, then grabs a hold of Little Blake's hand and watches the tot drop a flower atop his mother's casket.
"Farewell, my beloved child. I'll cherish all the the joy you brought to my life."
"I shall love you forever, my darling daughter."
"I am contorting my face into an expression of grief despite being largely indifferent about your death."
"Rot in hell, you slutty she-devil!"
Steven meets with Sammy Jo inside a Los Angeles diner...and she's chowing down on an insane amount of food, which seems so at odds with her super-slender frame. Ahh, to have the metabolism of '80s Heather Locklear. She snidely tells Steven that Danny is currently staying with friends, far away from L.A., and that she'll hand him over for no less than 30K a month. Steven stares at her incredulously and whines, "I don't have that kind of money!", so Sammy Jo reminds him that he has an uber-wealthy mother who does have that kind of money. She says she'll call him in a few days to flesh out the hand-off/monthly payment plan, and he glares at her and warns that if anything happens to Danny, he'll kill her. Sammy Jo rolls her eyes and continues packing away the carbs...and as Steven exits the diner and gets into his car, we see that Adam is parked across the street, quietly staring.
"I'll hand over the kid for a monthly blackmail payment of 30K."
"I can afford to pay you a tiny fraction of that."
Back at Carrington manor, Adam regales Steven, Blake, and Krystle with the story of his brave rescue of Danny...and Claudia pops into the room to confirm that Danny is healthy and doing well. A contrite looking Steven thanks Adam and extends his hand, and Adam shakes it and tells him the rescue was Blake's idea. Blake nods, then grimly remarks that he highly doubts the writers are completely done with the recurring 'Sammy Jo wants to somehow use Danny in exchange for money' subplot.
Dominique Deveraux travels (in a fancy black car) to her old stomping grounds: a working class neighborhood in northern Denver. She greets her Aunt Bessie, and the two boringly reminisce about her childhood...and then Dominique tells her she's going to need to rummage through her mother's old trunk while staring wistfully into space.
Sammy Jo calls Steven to admit her embarrassment at being outsmarted by the Carringtons, then laughs about how the mansion probably isn't going to be theirs for much longer. She then contorts her face into an angry expression and vows, "I'm not finished with this yet."
Krystle gathers the non-essential house-servants together to announce that they're being laid off due to Blake's money woes. When Blake gets wind of the firings, he chides her for not consulting with him ahead of time...so she reminds him that back in Season 1 he officially put her in charge of all the hirings and firings at Carrington manor. Blake mutters unhappily to himself as he stalks out of the room.
Blake is moping in the study when manservant Gerard (who I see escaped the first round of layoffs) announces that Dominique Deveraux has arrived to pay her respects for Fallon. A few seconds later, Dominique sweeps into the study decked out in her luxurious fur coat, tells Blake that she just suffered a loss as well, and remarks on how much the two of them have in common. When Blake just stares back at her in blank confusion, she spells it out by saying, "Our blood, our genes" and tells him they shared a daddy. As she shoots him a smug grin, he's all, "Wha-a-a-a??!"

"Me standing behind you right now doesn't mean I'm willing to have your back."
Original airdate: 10/17/1984
Episode summary: Blake seeks financial aid from a shady businessman in Venezuela. Alexis gets annoyed at the lead attorney for her upcoming murder trial and fires him. Jeff gets bad news about Fallon.
Alexis drops by Steven's office to fish for info about where Blake and Krystle jetted off to, but Steven clams up and tells her it's none of her business. He poutishly calls her out for disregarding all of his research on a potential bid for Louisiana oil leases, and she snaps at him to grow a pair and aspire to become a somebody in the oil world. He snaps back that, unlike her, his main priority in life isn't making himself filthy rich, and Alexis retorts that being filthy rich helps buy protection for the people she loves. She then stares mournfully into space, laments her upcoming murder trial, and wails, "I didn't kill anyone!" LOL.
Jeff arrives in Portland in his ongoing search for Fallon. He shows her photo to a guy who runs a hostel and asks if he's seen her, and the guy unconvincingly says he hasn't...and we see that a woman (Emily) is carefully eavesdropping in the background while scrunching her face in a WTF? expression. After Jeff has ambled out of hearing range, Emily asks the guy why he lied through his teeth just now, and he says he gave his word to Fallon that he wouldn't tell anyone the next clue in the obnoxious Find Fallon Scavenger Hunt.
Claudia and Steven are having lunch in Claudia's office at the La Mirage - but Steven just picks at his food and says he's lost his appetite ever since Fallon vanished and Danny was abducted. Claudia says he should be hopeful that Fallon will eventually reappear, albeit as a British brunette, and that Sammy Jo will need money and be in touch...but Steven glumly says she can't guarantee any of that and dickishly invokes the grisly death of her daughter in a Peruvian jungle. Claudia reminds him that dwelling on Lindsay's demise is what caused her second bout of squirrelliness, an ordeal she'd prefer he not have to endure.
Dominique is leafing through her private scrapbook on Blake - interesting, I never pegged Dominique as a scrapbooker - but hastily puts it away when Claudia drops by her suite. She shows Dominique the promo ad for her La Mirage stint and says she'd like to write up a short bio in case any of her listeners actually show an interest in what might have inspired her to become a solo lounge act. Dominique snappishly says she doesn't share the details of her private life with anyone, and Claudia immediately backs off - 'cause I'm pretty sure she only really gave the tiniest of rat's asses about writing up a bio in the first place - and asks her if she has a closing date in mind. Dominique tells her to put a pin in that until further notice...and after Claudia leaves, she gets on the phone with J.J., her personal flunky, and leaves him a bitchy message asking how much longer she's expected to hang around Yokellyville. She ends the message by snapping, "Call me back!"
"A bio would be pointless, 'cause so far my life has been dull-as-fuck."
"If it's half as dull as your overall storyline, I find that very easy to believe."
Blake tells Billy he needs a total of a billion dollars for a re-do on the South China Sea oil lease project, and promises that the returns will be ah-maaaazing. Billy mocks him for being so broke that he has to run around the globe, begging shitbags such as himself for financing...and Blake eats crow and concurs, then wanks him about being a smart risk-taker and insists that there's a fortune to be made. Billy promises to think it over.
Jeff drops by the penthouse to report to Alexis that he talked to some guy who runs a hostel in Portland, and that he's sure he was lying to him when he asked if he'd seen Fallon. He then remarks that he's been trying to call Blake, but can't seem to reach him in Caracas...and Alexis perks up and is all, "Car-a-cas?"
Krystle and Blake finish breakfast, then enjoy a leisurely stroll on Billy's sprawling estate. She asks if they can pleeeeease fly home today 'cause of how much she hates it here, but Blake says he has a strong hunch that Billy is going to agree to loan him money, so he'd prefer to stay in close vicinity so he can talk his ear off about the investment as much as humanly possible. Krystle's like, "OK, whatever, I just want us all to be happy and safe" and Blake says that the success of his deal with Billy will guarantee that.
"I want to go home and focus on the health and happiness of our family."
"And I want to stay in Caracas so I can wear Billy down at every possible opportunity until he agrees to give me a boatload of cash."
Alexis lounges in her penthouse as she sips a martini and recalls Jeff's remark about Blake traveling to Caracas. She murmurs, "Caracas.." and makes a person-to-person call to Billy Waite.
Warren Ballard shows Alexis the local paper, which has published yet another unflattering article about her. He tells her it's a definite liability that she's so wealthy, not least 'cause the papers are portraying her as a rich person who's likely going to try to buy her way out of a murder conviction. Well, d'yuh. He urges her to hire a PR firm so she can attempt to live down her bad press, but she snappishly tells him that his advice is unhelpful and insists that she's innocent. She tells him she'd prefer it if he took a back seat during the pre-trial process and let Adam do most of the lawyering, 'cause she's somehow under the impression that the spectacle of her creepy son defending his mother in court would bring tears to the jurors' eyes. Ballard looks horrified, calls the idea foolish, and says he's deeply insulted that she'd even consider sidelining him. He snarks, "The Denver public is not so easily fooled" and Alexis barks, "You're fired!" and says she'll have his final check messengered to his office. Ballard stares back at her in stunned incredulity for a few seconds, then curtly wishes her good luck and heads for the door. On his way out, he snarkishly tells Adam he hopes he's not in over his head (he so is). Adam tiptoes over to where Alexis is sitting with her head buried in her hands and asks her if she fully grasps that she just fired the most famous criminal attorney in the country...and she tells him she does, but hopes to hell that micromanaging the handling of her criminal case will magically result in an acquittal.
"Firrrrrrrred."
"How dare you direct that F-word at me!"
Dex returns to the penthouse from his Wyoming business trip and explains to Alexis that he's been out of touch for so long 'cause his sister smashed up her car and then got sued by the victim. Alexis rolls her eyes 'cause she clearly couldn't care less about his sister's predicament...but then gets all canoodly with him after he plants a giant smooch on her lips.
Claudia complains to Steven that she feels shut out by him 'cause he hasn't spoken to her in days, and Steven counters by whining about how much time she spends at La Mirage. She explains that she's been trying to stay busy as a way to maintain her fragile sanity...and a few seconds later, Sammy Jo calls to tell Steven that she wants to meet him in L.A. for a serious discussion of the custody of little Danny.
Jeff returns to the Portland hostel to meet up with Emily, who gives him a clue in his tedious search for Fallon.
Alexis travels to Caracas to meet with Billy, who gets all touchy feely with her and gushes over her timeless beauty. He says it's no coincidence that she rushed right over to South America soon after learning that Blake had talked to him, and remarks on how her relationship with Blake has always been "passionate, possessive, and vindictive" ... and smirkily adds that she can't seem to live with him or without him. Alexis argues that since the divorce she's managed quite nicely without Blake in her life, then pretends to be genuinely worried about her ex's financial plight. She urges Billy to take a leap of faith and give Blake all of the financing he needs, and he promises to give it serious consideration. He then proposes they take a "siesta" after lunch, but she declines and sassily says she'd much rather ride one of his stallions. Haha! ... and ouch.
"I notice that you can't seem to fully let go of Blake."
"That's not true. Now tell me in detail what you and Blake talked about so I can determine how best to continue tormenting him."
A small army of military men barge onto Billy's estate...and a Lieutenant Lopez informs Alexis that the American FBI has issued a warrant for her arrest 'cause they assume she fled to Venezuela to avoid prosecution for murdering a '70s porn 'stache gigolo. He says he has orders to escort her to the airport and put her on the next available plane to Miami, where she'll be held pending extradition to Denver. Alexis is all OMG! and looks behind her to see if Billy can be of any assistance...but is miffed to see that he quietly slinked inside his house soon after the military arrived. LOL. Alexis narrows her eyes in irritation, then climbs into the waiting limo to be ferried to the airport.
Jeff flies to Seattle to meet with a monk who recognizes a photo of Fallon. The monk says she's no longer crashing at the monastery and that he should ask the police to break some painful news to him.
Jeff is back at Carrington manor, sitting by the fire in the study and looking tearful. Blake wanders into the room and asks Jeff if he learned anything new in his search for Fallon, and Jeff wails, "She's dead!" Blake is all, "Nooooo!!" and the two men sniffle on each other's shoulder without Blake pressing Jeff to offer up any kind of explanation about exactly how Fallon allegedly expired.
