Recap: This episode picks up at the awkward moment where the previous episode left off. Alexis tells Dex he looks still looks pale and weak, then sarcastically thanks Amanda for taking such good care of her husband. She motions at Prince Michael, who's standing behind her, and explains that he traveled with her to America to get some business done and enjoy all that Denver has to offer...and Amanda rolls her eyes disinterestedly and announces that she's leaving. Prince Michael urges her to stay and have dinner with him and Alexis - but she tells him she has plans for the evening, then beats a hasty retreat. Alexis orders her manservant Lin to show Prince Michael to his guest suite...and once he's out of hearing range, Dex asks Alexis why in blazes she brought the prince to Denver, since it's pretty obvious that Amanda has zero interest in him. Alexis glares at him poutishly for a few seconds, then dismissively tells him to go to bed and rest his weakened body. The next morning, Amanda is breakfasting with Blake and Krystle, who's gabbling excitedly about an Arabian horse she's had her eye on that's just come up for auction in Albuquerque. When she tries to get Blake interested in her horse passion, he just stares back at her blankly before grunting something unintelligible. Amanda gets a phone call from Prince Michael, who invites her to dine with him this evening so he can apologize for hooking up with her in Acapulco while engaged to a duchess, and she agrees to meet up with him at 7pm. After she rushes off to her art class, Blake grumbles to Krystle that he doesn't approve of Prince Michael 'cause he thinks he's too sophisticated for his angel-faced, babe in the woods daughter...and Krystle nods in pensive agreement as she sorts through the mail. When she notices a yellow envelop with her name on it and no return address, she sighs wearily, throws it into the fireplace without opening it, and urges Blake to do the same if he happens to receive any more of them. She then informs him that she'll be in Albuquerque on Thursday night to attend the horse auction...and when he snarkishly asks her if her business partner will be accompanying her, she says he's currently out of town [languishing in a crude prison in Paraguay, waiting patiently for Dex et. al. to rescue him]. Over at the Delta Rho, Charles and Dex are discussing Rock Hudson's predicament. Dex hangs his head shamefully about leaving Rock stranded in South America, while Charles assures him that, according to recent sightings, he's still alive. Krystle appears in the doorway in time to overhear that last part, gasps in alarm, and asks if something has happened to Rock. Dex decides to come clean and reveals to her that he, Rock, and a small team of former military operatives have been working underground for years to rescue hapless Americans who find themselves held captive in third world countries. Their most recent rescue mission involved smuggling an American man across the border - Brazil? Bolivia? Argentina? - and Rock stayed behind to "clean up the mess". Dex assures Krystle that he's OK (fingers crossed, anyway), then adds that Rock is always gabbling to the guys about how much he digs her. Krystle thanks him for telling her the truth and asks him to please keep her in the loop. At La Mirage, Claudia runs into Dean Caldwell, who points out that since she's now separated from Steven, they can start to date openly. Claudia's like, "Meh.." and says that while he's sweet and kind, she has no room in her life for him...and he shrugs amiably and urges her to give him a call if she ever reconsiders. Claudia heads over to her office, where Adam is broodily staring into space. He urges Claudia to call it quits with Steven by getting a quickie Mexican divorce, but she tells him she can't quite bring herself to take that final step. Amanda and Prince Michael are enjoying after dinner drinks at Carrington manor. He tells her he called off his engagement to the duchess, then formally proposes. Amanda's all, "Ack!" and calls his proposal "a bit sudden", then asks if Alexis' recent trip to Moldavia has anything anything to do with him and the duchess breaking up. Prince Michael admits that Alexis and his father spoke about them getting married and calls their parents' involvement a blessing - but Amanda argues that this feels more like a business arrangement and that she has no real interest in marrying him. Prince Michael schmaltzily tells her he's loved her since the first moment he saw her - but she reacts all angry-bitchy and snappishly orders him to get the hell out of her sight. When Steven tells Blake he doesn't believe that he could ever approve of his newly reemerged gay lifestyle, Blake unconvincingly argues he does approve, then urges him to invite Luke to tonight's black tie dinner at Carrington manor. Steven mulls that over and decides 'sure, why the hell not?' Over at ColbyCo, Amanda tells Alexis that Prince Michael proposed to her, then snappishly asks her what she (Alexis) is getting out of the deal. Alexis avoids answering by urging her to look at marriage with Prince Michael as a rare opportunity to live the life of her dreams as a princess. When Amanda points out that she hardly knows the royal dork, Alexis is like, "He's smart, kind, and a prince. What more is there to know?", then quickly excuses herself to head off to a meeting. Amanda makes a beeline over to the phone to call Dex and poutishly tell him she has an emergency she needs to discuss with him asap. The two agree to covertly meet in front of some downtown building at 11pm. Lady Ashley drops by Blake's office to express her concern about Dominique's depression and lack of will to recuperate from her heart surgery. Apparently, she's been spending her days wistfully listening to audio tapes of herself singing...as if she lost the use of her vocal cords instead of undergoing surgery to repair a bum heart valve. Ashley says that Dominique probably just needs "a push to land on her feet" and suggests to Blake that they come up with an action plan over dinner...and Blake says that Thursday would be a good night for them to do that 'cause Krystle will be in Albuquerque, attending a horse auction. At the black tie mansion dinner, Blake seats Luke next to him so they can engage in some tense chit-chat. Luke gamely tells him a little about himself, namely that he went to Yale and spent his years there in earnest study. Amanda, who's devoid of gaydar and/or didn't receive the memo that Luke was expressly invited to dinner 'cause he's Steven's new boyfriend, asks if he had any fun at Yale...and by fun, she means did he date women? Luke awkwardly tells her that he did date women, and eventually got engaged and married before surprising no one when he finally decided to come out of the closet. He then puts his cards on the table and says he gets that he's not a typical dinner guest, but nevertheless is honored to be welcome at Carrington manor. He thanks Blake and Krystle for their graciousness, and Blake says that any friend of Steven's is welcome in his home...except for poor Ted Dinard, who got manslaughtered by Blake in Season 1 after committing the crime of platonically hugging Steven. Later, while playing pool in the game room, Adam "lets it slip" to Blake that Claudia hooked up with Dean Caldwell, an indiscretion that maybe, possibly, likely led to the disintegration of her marriage to Steven. Blake's all, "Wha-a-a-a?" and scrunches his wrinkly face into an angry, perplexed expression. At 11pm, Amanda climbs into the back of Dex's limo to report her "emergency": Prince Michael proposed to her, mostly 'cause Alexis and King Galen told him to. Dex stares back at her blankly and is all, "And you're telling me this because..?" then asks her if she wants to marry the prince. Amanda says it'd be weird to marry one man while hopelessly smitten with another, so Dex makes it clear that despite them hitting the sheets that one blechy time, he's extremely devoted to Alexis and has no desire to end their toxic marital union. He urges her to accept Prince Michael's proposal, and Amanda retorts by growling, "I hate you! I'll show youuuuuu!" before angrily exiting the car. Steven thanks Krystle for being so nice to Luke at dinner last night, and she says it wasn't hard 'cause of how bright and charming he is. She then changes the subject to Sammy Jo, and how she hopes to have the opportunity to tell Rock Hudson that he unwittingly fathered the skanklet while he was hitting the sheets with her sister, Iris. Over at the penthouse, Alexis demands that Dex tell her who he was with last night (for those five unaccounted for minutes), and he admits that he met with Amanda after she asked him for advice about whether or not she should marry Prince Michael. When Alexis snarkishly asks him what advice he gave, he says he strongly urged Amanda to marry the prince...then gets all weirdly sanctimonious as he chides Alexis for selling her own daughter. Prince Michael thanks Dex for letting him stay at the penthouse while he's in the U.S., and Dex says he's welcome to stay as long as it takes to accomplish his goal. He adds that Amanda is young and vulnerable and that he doesn't want to see her hurt, so Michael assures him that he loves her very much and has no intention of hurting her - even though it's plainly obvious that he (Dex) is the man she's hot for. During a meeting at Denver Carrington, Claudia tells Blake she's happy to hear that he's made peace with Steven's recently reemerged gayness, and that she's inching closer to fully accepting the reality that her wife-beard marriage arrangement is officially over. Blake asks her if it's true that she extramaritally doinked a man named Dean Caldwell, and Claudia admits that, yep, she definitely did. When Blake wonders aloud if her affair pushed Steven into the arms of Luke, she points out how ridiculous it is to suggest that her infidelity re-reverted Steven into a gay man. She says it's obvious that Steven has consciously made a choice to come out of the closet, and that no amount of disapproving glares from Blake is going to change his sexual orientation. Amanda asks Prince Michael if he'd be willing to marry her on any terms...and by any terms, she means she's OK with having a picture book marriage, as long as it's in name only. Prince Michael says that since he's so eager to seal the deal that Alexis and King Galen plotted behind everyone's back, he'd be more than willing to debase himself by abiding by any terms she sets. Lady Ashley stops by the tennis courts at La Mirage to watch Jeff and Blake play, and coquettishly tells them she'll buy the winner a drink. A few seconds later, Krystle appears at the courts from several feet away...and when she spots Lady Ashley flirtily observing the match, she scrunches her face with pensive concern. Blake tells Amanda he's kinda bummed that after spending so much of their lives apart, she's about to leave for a foreign land and become Mrs. Royal Dork. He asks her if she loves her fiance, and she non-answers with: "He's a prince. I'd be insane not to." Blake correctly assumes that Alexis is behind the enforced betrothal and promptly heads over to ColbyCo to give her the what for. Alexis admits that, yep, she encouraged the relationship, but has deluded herself into believing that Amanda has agreed to marry Prince Michael 'cause she's so deeply in love. When Blake asks her what her ulterior motive is, she haughtily deflects by accusing him of forcing their (grown) children to live under his control. Blake retorts that he wants to make up for the fact that they have a schemer for a mother, then segue ways into Steven's recent decision to abandon his wife for a gay lover. Alexis pales and is all, "Wha-a-a-at are you talking about?!" as Blake rails about how he's going to make damn sure that Amanda doesn't get manipulated into throwing her life away by marrying into Moldavian royalty. Alexis makes a beeline over to Steven's office to complain about how humiliated she was just now when Blake told her about all the problems going on in his personal life. She asks him if it's really true that his marriage is over 'cause he's dating a man...and Steven's like, "Um, d'yuh" and tells her that young, sensitive Luke understands him in a way that Claudia (or anyone else, for that matter) can never hope to. Alexis stares despondently into space for a few seconds, then breathily tells Steven he's always been special to her, briefly reminisces about the day he was born, then promises to always be there for him. In New York City, Morgan Hess is talking to - hurray! - Sammy Jo about all the compromising photos of Blake/Lady Ashley and Krystle/Rock Hudson they've hired various people to take and then mail anonymously. A dismayed Sammy Jo complains that the suggestion of infidelity hasn't done a thing to destroy Blake's/Krystle's marriage, and doubts that anything can split those two up. Across the restaurant, a brunette huffily walks away from a man at the bar...and by a brunette, I mean Linda Evans donning an unflattering brown wig. Sammy Jo gets a good look at her and is visibly startled by her "strong resemblance" to Krystle, then seems intrigued as she tells Morgan that the woman who walked past them just now is a dead ringer for her aunt. Over dinner at La Mirage, Lady Ashley tells Blake she hopes they can come up with something that will inspire Dominique to smile again and help her get back to being her cheery, if inherently snooty self. Blake shoots her an affectionate smile and gushes about what a caring she is, then says it's no wonder Jeff finds her so attractive. She grins at him as she saucily asks, "What about you?" and he blushes while staring back at her mutely. When Blake returns home, he's surprised to find Krystle sitting in the study. She tells him she never made it to Albuquerque 'cause the Arabian she wanted to buy was abruptly withdrawn from the auction, then asks him if he was working late. He tells her he had dinner with Lady Ashley and emphasizes that it was nothing more than a platonic, pleasant evening - but Krystle immediately gets angry and says she's sick and tired of the hypocrisy of him painting her as a wicked wife for innocently smooching Rock Hudson while he's out publicly wining and dining Lady Ashley. She storms upstairs, bundles up Kristina, then announces to Blake that she's taking the baby and moving out of the mansion. Blake's all, "Nooooo!!" and begs her to stay and talk this out - but she reminds him that they've already tried that, then whirls on her heel and flounces out the front door. Run far and fast, Krystle! Thanks for reading! If you are enjoying TVofYore's recaps, consider thanking me by buying me a "coffee"!

Yes, Run Krystle, RUN!!! Serves that hypocrite right. And as for the second hypocrite Claudia, she was the one who cheated on Steven and refuses to accept responsibility. She was the one who treated Steve badly and yet making herself look the victim. Ridiculous

Be that as it may, Claudia DOES have a point about the ridiculousness of assuming that Steven's reemerging homosexuality is related to her affair. Steven (and more importantly, the writers and producers) need to come to grips with himself instead of playing "is-he-or-isn't-he" games with his sexuality.
