Alexis isn't going to like this
"House of the Falling Son"
Original airdate: 3/2/1989

Episode summary: Blake is incensed at Adam when he learns of how creepily he treated Virginia. After being held up at gunpoint by Fritz, Sable turns to Dex for comfort. Alexis arrives in Paris and spends sexy time with her hired mercenary, Creighton Boyd.

Recap: Sable pleads with Fritz Heath not to shoot her, pointing out that he wouldn't gain anything by killing her. She urges him to put the gun down, take a seat, and explain in detail how his secret intel would bring down Alexis. Fritz chillaxes long enough to lumber over to the couch and dish to Sable that, according to his bombshell intel, ColbyCo could face billions of dollars of lawsuits that will easily force Alexis into personal bankruptcy.

In a fancy Paris hotel suite, Creighton Boyd is with his mercenary support team, fleshing out the plan to re-seize ColbyCo's ships when Alexis unexpectedly drops by. When Creighton asks her why in blazes she's interrupting his important work, she tells him she's protecting her investment and that she fully intends to be involved in the mission's planning process whether he likes it or not. Creighton makes it clear he likes it not and orders two of his men to tie Alexis up and put her in the room next door. Bwhaha! Alexis pales and is all, "The fuck?" as the two men grab her and physically carry her out of the room. Creighton then opens a map of Natumbe Bay and calmly resumes his pre-mission planning.

At Carrington manor, Blake asks Dex why he nearly choked Adam to death during the previous episode, so Dex explains his history with Virginia: he met her ten years ago when she was living on the streets, eking out a living by hooking...and he became so protective of the troubled sixteen year old that he arranged for a friend to send her off to the safety of a boarding school, which she bitterly resented 'cause she wanted him to be her boyfriend. He then tells Blake that Adam somehow found out about her past and used it to coerce her into sleeping with him and then tried to get her to put on skimpy-wear to satisfy the kinkier of his various fetishes. Blake immediately becomes enraged and storms out of the study looking for Adam, and one of the servants informs him that the creepy weirdo just went out for his morning jog.

Back at the Carlton Hotel, Sable reads through Fritz's packet o' intel and gleefully agrees that, yep, this bombshell could indeed bring Alexis down. She assures Fritz that when this is all over he won't have money problems ever again, then urges him to leave his gun with her and to go home and get some rest. After ushering him out the door and then locking it behind him, she looks relieved while visibly freaked out about being held at gunpoint. She carefully carries the gun to her desk and stares at the telephone.

Alexis is released by Creighton's goons and permitted to re-enter his suite. When she angrily throws an ashtray at him, Creighton informs her that his men would have killed her had he not ordered her to be tied up and removed. An unfazed Alexis makes it clear how annoyed she is at being manhandled, and admonishes Creighton for not treating her as an equal...and he responds by staring at her in fascination and murmuring, "God...you're beautiful." When she demands an explanation of how he plans to get all of her ships back, he hands her a briefcase with the remainder of the 500K downpayment she gave him days earlier and irritably tells her she can use it to hire another mercenary. Alexis contritely dials back her sass and says she doesn't want to hire anyone else, and that she promises not to interfere anymore. Creighton nods approvingly and invites her to dine with him tonight, and she looks visibly intrigued by the prospect.

Fallon is at Carrington manor, playing ping-pong with LB, when Jeff enters the room to inform LB that they're taking Danny to go pick up Sammy Jo from the hospital. When LB is safely out of hearing range, Jeff sarcastically tells Fallon how surprising it is that she found time out of her busy dating schedule to play ping-pong with their son, then adds that LB has complained that he rarely sees her anymore. An indignant Fallon assures him that their children are always well cared for, and then she and Jeff semi-bicker back and forth...blah blah - until they hear Blake screaming at Adam. When they run over to the staircase, they listen as Blake admonishes Adam for dishonoring Virginia, and Krystle by association. Adam fibs that nothing happened with Virginia, then nonsensically shifts the conversation to the shady source of the Carrington fortune and insinuates that Blake's father and grandfather were corrupt. He accuses Blake of being a fraud and taunts him about being sooooo afraid of "a two bit cop" like Zorelli investigating him...and while Fallon begs the two to stop, Blake gives Adam a hard face smack, sending him rolling down the long staircase and landing, unconscious, at the foot of the stairs.

After the commercial break, Adam quickly regains consciousness and gruffly assures everyone he's fine. Blake barks at him to get out of his house...and as Adam shoots him the stink-eye and limps off, Jeff quietly heads out with Danny and LB to pick up Sammy Jo.

Blake wanders over to his bedroom to stare wistfully at a framed photo of Krystle. A few seconds later, Fallon tiptoes into the room and tries to make sense of the disturbing act of domestic violence she just witnessed her father commit - but Blake just bitches and moans about how the entire family is falling apart, specifically..
  • Steven abruptly left with barely a goodbye [and presumably hasn't called since]
  • Adam creepily drove away Krystle's cousin and couldn't own up to it
  • She (Fallon) is cavorting with a cop who wants to charge him for murder

Fallon insists that they're just a normal family with problems, then assures him they're all here to comfort him while Krystle lays in vegetative limbo. Blake just shrugs at that and says he feels as though nothing at Carrington manor is ever going to be the same again.

Over at Delta Rho, Jeff carries Sammy Jo inside her living room, and she looks touched by the Welcome Home sign, along with the many balloons and flowers. Jeff mentions the young hottie she befriended in the hospital, and she gives him a big smooch to assure him that she's (kinda sorta) only interested in him.

Alexis calls Dex, who's annoyed that she's been out of touch for so long, especially since he's been working very hard to fix ColbyCo. Alexis is all, "Sucks to be you - I'm off to dinner now" ... and as Dex literally screams his frustration into the phone before abruptly hanging up, Alexis turns her attention to Creighton, who has just entered her suite dressed up in a tuxedo.

Sable drops by Dex's place looking out of sorts. She tearfully mutters about suddenly losing command of one's life, then pulls out Fritz's gun and tells Dex that she just had this thing pointed at her head. She says the man who was threatening her with it prolly didn't actually want to use it - but it was still scary 'cause of how totally out of control he was. Dex takes the gun away from her and gives her a comforting hug as she sobs...and the hug quickly turns into a smooch and then some amorous looking foreplay as they start going at it atop the carpet.

Over dinner, Creighton explains to Alexis exactly how Operation Rescue ColbyCo's Ships is expected to play out - but she's too busy complaining about the two of them dining in his suite, as opposed to a swanky Paris restaurant. Creighton tells her she could at least pretend to listen, 'cause he doesn't usually share these kinds of planning details with clients. Alexis says the main planning detail she cares about is that no one gets killed, then comes right out and asks him if he's ever killed anyone. Creighton responds by correctly assuming that she's ruined many lives during her tenure on Dynasty, insisting that murder is usually a lot more humane than all of the life-ruining shenanigans she's been up to. Alexis gently chides him for not answering the question, and compares him to the stubborn ex who just screamed at her on the phone.

As Sable gets dressed, post coitus, she assures Dex she's fine now, and that he should  feel free to go back to bed. She then declares, "This never happened" and quietly slips out of the apartment, leaving Dex to stare curiously at the gun she left behind.

Sergeant Zorelli calls around for Fallon, and leaves a message with Sammy Jo (at Delta Rho) to tell Fallon to call him asap. Sammy Jo then asks Fallon, who's lounging on her couch, why she refuses to talk to Zorelli - but Fallon declines to explain and just says she'd really really like to hang around Delta Rho for a little while to 1) get away from Carrington manor, and 2) help her recuperate from her gunshot injury.

Sable returns to the Carlton Hotel and runs into Joanna, who needs her to sign some important papers. She asks Sable where she's been all day, then grumbles about how fuckin' fed up she is with the shabby way she's being treated in this job. She assumes that Sable is still irked at her for bedding Dex, then reminds her boss that she was the one who had urged her to hit the sheets with Dex in order to suss out any useful intel. Joanna then assures her she has no problem making the decision to end whatever kind of relationship she's deludedly imagining she and Dex have...and after she stomps off to bed, a weary Sable mutters, "Looks like I'm going to have to come to a decision of my own...about you, Joanna."

Blake is reading Cinderella to Kristina, then coos about how much he looooves her. As the tot falls fast asleep, Blake remarks on all the people who have recently left his orbit: Krystle, Steven, Virginia. Plus, now Fallon is starting to pull away. He tells a sleeping Kristina that she's his last hope, and vows not to fail her.

Creighton remarks to Alexis that she's clearly had Dex on her mind all night, but she insists that her ex is selfish and egotistical. As thunder claps, she looks momentarily [and uncharacteristically] fearful of the loud noise...but then exchanges lustful stares with Creighton - just as the phone rings. Creighton takes the call and learns that the ColbyCo ships are scheduled to leave sooner than expected, which means that he and his men have to scrap all of their careful planning and just make things up as they go. Sounds confidence-inspiring.

Dex is attempting to trace ownership of the gun Sable left with him when Joanna drops by his apartment wearing nothing but a trench coat. She saucily tells him that Sable wants her to say goodbye to him, then dramatically removes her coat and proudly displays her mammaries. Dex gives her nakedness a disinterested once over and mutters, "Joanna.." then points out that they don't have what it takes to build anything resembling a real relationship. Joanna angrily assumes that Sable has gotten her hooks into him and warns that she's only interested in him 'cause she wants to hurt Alexis. As she flounces towards the door, she sneers, "Don't say I didn't warn you."

Sergeant Zorelli is hiding in the bushes on the Carrington estate when Fallon returns home early the next morning. He asks her why she disappeared while cooking him pasta and now refuses to return his phone calls, so she just tells him she shouldn't have been at his place and doesn't want to see him anymore. When he insists that she owes him an explanation, she wearily says, "Just go" and heads inside.

Inside the mansion, Blake tells Jeff that Gibson doesn't seem to know what's at the bottom of the lake - just as Fallon enters the corridor. Blake irritably assumes she was with Zorelli all night and bitchily stomps off...and Fallon tells Jeff she actually spent the night at Delta Rho, then rails about how sick and tired she is of everyone getting on her case about coupling up with a cop who's been investigating her daddy for a twenty year old murder.

Back in Paris, Creighton packs up his machine gun and tells Alexis he hopes that the restless Natumbeian natives, who are reacting to an unexpected new regional conflict, will be enough of a distraction to nimbly rescue the ColbyCo ships. He adds that he's greatly enjoyed getting to know her, and leans in for a smooch. Alexis coquettishly reminds him he has two whole hours before his plane leaves...and he perks up at the prospect of a pre-mission romp and presses against her for some amorous smooching.

Dex runs into Sable in the Carlton Hotel lounge to check up on her, but she assures him it wasn't necessary 'cause she's A-OK. She tells him their sexcapade prolly shouldn't ever happen again, and he half-heartedly agrees and escorts her to the elevator. He stares at her hungrily, then at the last minute decides to enter the elevator with her and lean in for a smooch...and the two are still in mid-smooch as they stumble into her suite. Dex lifts Sable up while continuing with the foreplay, and she raises her chin and contorts her expression to look cartoonishly swooned by her wanton desire for another boning.
