Recap: Fallon rifles through Blake's drawer (in the mansion's library) in search of his basement keys...and is about to go downstairs when she runs into Adam. He tells her he'd like to chat with her about his idea to split up the responsibilities at Denver Carrington between himself, her, and Jeff - but Fallon makes it clear she has zero interest in that and says she's cynical about him ever being capable of working as a trusted team member. As he heads toward the vestibule he asks her why she's about to go into the basement, so she fibs and tells him she's looking for photographs of her kids. In Los Angeles, Dr. Hampton tells Blake he sent Krystle's scans to a surgeon in New York...and when Blake gets all pissy about him recommending that Krystle undergo a dangerous surgery, Dr. Hampton says it may be her best chance...though he could, alternatively, give her an experimental drug that might help sort out her brain issues. In the basement, Fallon pulls down a box labelled as Blake's personal stuff and starts browsing through the contents. Virginia arrives at the Los Angeles hospital and finds Blake in the waiting room. Blake warmly greets her and tells her that he and Krystle told the entire family about her brain problem...and he's sooooo relieved to no longer be carrying the secret no one knew he's been quietly suppressing since Season 2. Fallon finds a photograph of the dead guy found at the lake...standing beside a young Blake. She stares at it incredulously. Over at police headquarters, Sergeant Zorelli is in the process of questioning a mulleted hooligan when Fallon drops by. Zorelli asks her to sit across the room while he takes a phone call...but while he's on the phone, Mr. Mullet asks Fallon if she has a stick of gum, then proceeds to free himself from his restraints and lunge at her. Zorelli pounces upon Mr. Mullet and knocks him to the floor...and after two officers drag him away, he chastises Fallon for so foolishly putting herself in danger by nonsensically ranting, "This isn't a game here. Ever heard of Patty Hearst, who spent six months locked up in a closet somewhere?!" Fallon somehow refrains from pointing out that Patty Hearst being abducted from her home by a terror group isn't reasonably comparable to being accosted by a mulleted thug inside a police station, then tells him she stopped by 'cause she wants to get another look at the corpse. When Zorelli calms down and promises to set it up with the coroner, Fallon flirtily thanks him for coming to her rescue just now. In a swanky Los Angeles hotel room, Virginia shows Blake a rose crystal necklace that Krystle had given her when she (Virginia) was hospitalized years ago, and says she believes it has magical, healing powers. She hands it to Blake to pass along to Krystle - just as Krystle enters the room, dressed up in a fancy black frock. Virginia heads out to give Blake and Krystle some alone time...and Krystle puts on some dull muzak (which is apparently their favorite song) and dances with Blake as she insists, "I'm not going to die" 'cause of all the wonderful things she still wants to do in her wonderful life. Dex drops by Denver Carrington, where Jeff is doing a boxing workout [instead of doing this at the gym, like a normal person]. Jeff moans about his lady problems (with Sammy Jo and Fallon) and asks what he's doing wrong, and Dex wryly replies, "Try cutting down on your marriage proposals." Heh. Dex then shifts the conversation to Alexis's money troubles and says he'd like his help in sorting through all of the bad junk bond investment deals Fritz Heath was making throughout Season 8, and Jeff promises to head over to ColbyCo after a quick shower. Sammy Jo and Fallon are jogging together on the Carrington estate, which I'll assume means that they're now friends. Sammy Jo says she's fairly bummed about Krystle's brain problems, then says she's going to jog back to the house and call the hospital to see if there's any new information. A few seconds later, a security guard drives up in a little golf cart thing to deliver a mobile phone to Fallon so that she can take an urgent call from Sergeant Zorelli, telling her he set up a special viewing for her at the morgue. Over in Malibu, Blake and Virginia stroll along the beach and discuss Krystle's health crisis. Virginia says she refuses to give up on her cousin and is hoping for a miracle, while Blake says that while he believes in the power of positive thinking, he seriously doubts that Krystle will be able to survive what seems like a very shitty diagnosis. Dex and Jeff inform Alexis that, after studying various reports and ledgers, they've uncovered hard proof that Fritz Heath willingly colluded with Sean to rig the company's accounting in an attempt to cover up their theft and fraud...and that Fritz allowed Sean to invest a lot of money in high risk junk bonds. Alexis chews on that for a few seconds, then wonders aloud why Fritz would bother returning to Denver after all of his crime-ing. Dex says he suspects that Fritz came back for something additional, so Alexis vows to "slit his throat" [I'll assume figuratively] when she's fully ready to confront him about his betrayal. She (rightly) blames herself for giving up total control of ColbyCo to Sean during her gubernatorial campaign, and Dex changes the subject to deliver some much-needed good news: he has successfully facilitated the sale of the Carlton Hotel. He hands her the final papers for her signature and makes clear he has no idea who the actual buyers are...and Alexis breezily says she doesn't care, as long as whoever it is pays her in full. Sergeant Zorelli tells Fallon she won't be able to view the corpse after all, 'cause it's suddenly started to decay. He says in lieu of that, he can show her a photo of the deceased man's face...then weirdly chides her for being so interested in dead guys when there are so many alive nice ones around - like himself, for instance. Fallon grins back at him flirtily...and when he exits the office, she pulls out the photograph she found in the mansion basement. She compares it to that of the dead guy and murmurs, "It is you." Alexis is chillin' in her suite (with her adorable Shih Tzu!) when she hears construction workers banging around on the floor above hers. When she storms upstairs to see whassup, the foreman explains that he and his crew were tasked with a major renovation...and when she orders him to stop, Sable suddenly appears and announces that, as the new owner of the Carlton Hotel [which apparently took effect within minutes of Alexis signing the papers], she hired these men to make several upgrades. Alexis accuses her of buying the hotel just to spite her for her (past) dalliance with Jason [a tidbit that was, no doubt, more fully explained in The Colbys], and the taunting provokes an incensed Sable to smugly tell her she has 30 days to vacate her hotel suite. Krystle returns to Carrington manor with Virginia...and as Virginia stands in the vestibule area and stares all wide-eyed at the opulence around her with an army of servants scurrying about, Krystle grinningly says, "I know" and tells her that she too felt overwhelmed at the majestic aura of the mansion when she first hooked up with Blake. Dex is in Alexis's office, phoning around for Fritz when Alexis storms in and starts throwing things at him. When he's all, "Uh, why are you throwing things at me?", she yells that he sold the Carlton Hotel to Sable and didn't tell her [despite him making it clear that he didn't know the identity of the actual buyer] ... and is extra pissed off that she's getting evicted from her suite. Dex irritably informs her that he made a second deal that legally allows for her to lease her suite, then hands her that signed contract...and she responds by ripping it up and yelling at him to get out of her office. He coldly declares them through, and angrily exits. Adam summons Claire to his office to tell her that since they bumped uglies during the previous episode, he no longer thinks that the two of them working together is such a good idea. Claire chides herself for continually making dumb mistakes at work while completely letting Adam off the hook in so blatantly demonstrating why the '80s really needed better safeguards for women when it came to such clear cut cases of sexual harassment. When Adam says he'd like to continue seeing her and hands her a severance check, she reacts by lighting it on fire and throwing it into a file box that a chuckling Adam has to quickly extinguish. Fallon runs into Jeff in the Carlton Hotel lounge and shows him the photo of the dead lake guy (standing next to Blake). As Jeff carefully stares at the photo, Sable wanders over, says Alexis definitely knew the dead guy, and informs them that she's the new owner of this hotel. Fallon makes a beeline over to Alexis's suite and shows her mother the photograph. Alexis visibly pales...and when Fallon tells her that the guy in the photo was recently found dead at the lake cabin, Alexis stares back at her in shocked horror. Back at police headquarters, Sergeant Zorelli and another officer are watching security footage of Fallon when she earlier compared the photo of the dead guy to the photograph she found in the mansion's basement. Zorelli smugly tells his colleague, "I think it's show and tell time." Blake is in his Denver Carrington office, checking his mail, when Sable sashays into the room to needlessly inform him that she's the new owner of the Carlton Hotel. She asks about Krystle, then gives him a heads up that Fallon has an old photograph of him standing next to the man who was found dead at the lake. When Blake asks her why she would give even the slightest hoot about that, she poutishly tells him she always seems to find herself where she's most needed, which right now happens to be Denver. She adds that he looks as though he could use a friend. A weary looking Dex ambles into the Carlton Hotel lounge and orders a double scotch. A few seconds later, he spots the attractive brunette (Joanna Sills) he had haggled with over the sale of the hotel during the previous episode. He gazes appreciatively at her trim form in a slinky glittery dress, then wanders over and flirtily greets her. When the two head over to a nearby couch and chillax with their drinks, Dex applauds her negotiating skills, then looks delighted when she gets a call from someone named Bob and cancels their dinner plans. Mmm hmm.. Blake is being chauffeured home when the limo comes to an abrupt halt 'cause Alexis is standing in the middle of the road, looking furious. When Blake climbs out of the limo and asks whassup with her blocking traffic, she accuses him of killing Roger Grimes...and reminds him that the only reason she had bedded him was because of his neglect of his husbandly duties. Blake insists that he did not kill Roger Grimes - but Alexis doesn't buy it and vows to make him pay for murdering her ex-lover...whose dead body was somehow perfectly preserved in a cold lake for the last two decades.
