Recap: After Blake and Krystle exit the morgue, Zorelli wryly remarks to his colleague that when Blake took a gander at the dead guy "his face turned whiter than the stiff's". As Dex labors through a stack of paperwork at ColbyCo, Alexis's secretary (Pamela) informs him that Alexis had called earlier and left a message that the dealmaking in Natumbe is going well - but that she'll be unreachable for the next two days [as part of Dynasty's cost cutting measure to avoid paying Joan Collins's exorbitant salary]. Dex snappishly tells Pamela that he wants to talk to the controller and/or the controller's secretary (Florence), then rails in frustration about why the heck no one seems to be at work these days. [Budget cuts, Dex. Network budget cuts.] Danny tells Sammy Jo he's very sad that his shitbag of a father abruptly left Denver without so much as a goodbye...and when he asks when/if he'll see him again, Sammy Jo has no good answer and just stares back at him blankly. Over at Carrington manor, Blake applauds Jeff for finally getting the pipeline built...and then a miffed Adam starts bitching about how he assumed he'd be taking Steven's place at the helm of Denver Carrington. Blake says he now thinks that the company is too big for one person to run...and that, yep, Jeff is being bestowed with an equal amount of power as he is. Adam barks, "I'm your son, damn it!", but a vexed Blake makes it clear he no longer gives a rat's ass about indulging in the kind of nepotism he showered upon Steven throughout much of Season 8 and insists that the three of them - Adam, Jeff, and Fallon - are to run the company as equals. After Blake storms out of the library, Fallon gleefully points out to Jeff how irked Sammy Jo is going to be when she learns that the two of them are going to be working together. Blake, who's clutching a pair of keys, wanders over to the staircase that leads to the mansion's basement. When he reaches the underground floor, he opens a padlock that gives him access to a gated area of the basement that houses old files and boxes. He pulls down one of the boxes and starts sifting through its contents. Adam storms up to his bedroom screeching, "Jeff Colby!" as he strips off his tie. He opens a drawer and happens to find a negligee that Dana left behind...and reacts by sniffing it while sadly sitting at the foot of his bed. After a few seconds he yells, "No! No one's going to take away what's mine!" and angrily rips the lingerie. He then stares mournfully at a framed photo of his surrogate baby and vows to get him back, then picks up the phone to call Morgan Hess to bitchily demand an update on how the investigation into smearing the Atkinsons is going. Back at Delta Rho, Sammy Jo makes it clear that she is not thrilled that Jeff will be working so closely with Fallon. Jeff explains that Blake needs a lot of help 'cause of Krystle's brain problems - but he also has to look out for his sizeable investment of Denver Carrington stock. Sammy Jo reacts by bellowing, "Out!" and says she wants him out of her house, not least 'cause this is the same kind deception and lying that she's gotten from every man she's ever hooked up with. Jeff refuses to leave and starts canoodling her...and she decides she actually doesn't want him to leave and grabs him by the tie so that she can lean in for an amorous smooch. In Los Angeles, Sable is enjoying a massage when she receives a phone call, informing her that Blake and Krystle have an appointment with Dr. Charles Hampton. She tells the masseuse they need to abruptly end their session, then sits up on the massage table and stares concernedly into space. While enjoying some post-coital afterglow, Jeff sleepily refers to Sammy Jo as Fallon. Sammy Jo reacts by going batshit and hitting him with her pillow while calling him a miserable creep. Jeff weakly explains he must have been having a dream about falcons, and Sammy Jo screeches at him to get the hell out of her house. After Blake emerges from the basement storage area, he hears Krystle shriek, "Nooo!" He runs up to the bedroom to see whassup, so she tells him she had a nightmare about a young man (the dead guy from the morgue) who was trying to hurt her...so she in turn tried to kill him. Blake cooingly assures her it was only a dream, and she looks visibly relieved by his words of comfort. Sergeant Zorelli arrives at the Carrington stables and finds Fallon riding around on her horse. She chides him for dragging her family members to the morgue, then comes right out and asks him if he thinks Blake murdered the rando who was found at the lake. Zorelli says he doesn't; however he does think that Blake recognized the corpse. He adds that he simply wants to have a name to add to the toe tag, given that no one seems interested in actually solving the murder...then asks Fallon if she'd like to take a look at the stiff to see if maybe she knows who he is. She agrees, and Zorelli says he'll swing by the mansion this afternoon to pick her up. Morgan Hess provides Adam with a lacklustre update on the Atkinsons, and Adam snarlingly says he's seen all this intel before - in a report that Alexis had previously commissioned. Morgan sheepishly tells him that substantive leads take time, and Adam angrily hands him a check and declares him fired. [Needless footnote: during this exchange, Adam's secretary Claire sexily sashayed into the office to deliver a cup of coffee...and then looked visibly turned on when Adam bitchily fired Morgan.] Over in Los Angeles, Dr. Hampton tells Krystle that her brain problems could be something simple, like a hormonal imbalance...to which Krystle snidely retorts, "Or a brain tumor..?" Dr. Hampton stares back at her in shameful sheepishness as she grumbles about how tired she is of people hiding the truth from her. Blake interjects to remind her of the horse riding accident she suffered during Season 2...and Dr. Hampton reveals that at the time he had done a CT scan and found an artery-to-vein malformation, located in a part of her brain that makes it way too dangerous to operate on. Dr. Hampton explains, "Since it wasn't causing you any problems at the time, I allowed him [Blake] to withhold the information from you" ... and then somehow refrains from adding that, yep, that baffling decision was wholly unethical, surely illegal, and violated any semblance of doctor-patient confidentiality. Krystle remarks on how her symptoms make more sense, now that she's finally been made aware of this information...and that she had been worried she was slowly going mad. Fallon arrives at the morgue with Zorelli. She takes a good look at the dead guy's face and admits that, yeah, there is something familiar about him. Blake tells Krystle that he had fervently hoped she would have been able to live out her life without being affected by her head injury...but that whatever brain malfunction she's now experiencing is something they'll bravely face together. Krystle admits to being frightened by this artery-to-vein malformation and worries that maybe she did murder the rando at the lake cabin without any memory of having done so. When the doctor returns to the office for a private one-on-one with Krystle, he tells her that, yep, her condition can bring about a frontal lobe epilepsy type situation, which can result in her doing some pretty fucked-up shit she's not consciously aware of. Krystle's all, "Ack!" and asks if it's possible she may have committed a murder she doesn't recall, and he's like, "Dunno. Maybe." Sable slips into the doctor's waiting room and explains to a startled Blake that she had been alerted of Krystle's appointment 'cause she's on the Medical Centre's board of directors...and assures him that their presence here is otherwise being kept confidential. She expresses regret about all the bad blood that existed between him and Jason Colby [that must have mostly unfolded on The Colbys, 'cause I have no memory of what that would have been]. Sable says she sooooo admires his marriage to Krystle and assures him that their brand of love can survive a serious health issue. Blake mumbles, "It just has to", and Sable scrunches her face all sympathetic-like and tells him to let her know if there's anything she can do. Sergeant Zorelli urges Fallon to think hard about why the dead guy looks so familiar to her - just as another cop enters the room and informs Zorelli that something bizarre is happening to the corpse. That evening at Carrington manor, Blake admits to Fallon that he definitely recognized the dead guy - but that the familiarity makes no sense, 'cause the man in his recollection would be around 50 years old now...whereas the stiff was a young man, probably in his late 20s. Fallon suggests that perhaps the dead guy is his son, and Blake is like, "Mmm...perhaps", then a few minutes later sneaks back down to the basement (while Fallon surreptitiously spies on him.) Blake is browsing through a box containing old photographs and finds one of the man he thought he recognized in the morgue. He murmurs, "Did you have a son after all?" Krystle and Sammy Jo have just finished a horse ride at Delta Rho. Sammy Jo grumbles about Jeff and Fallon working together at Denver Carrington, and Krystle suggests that maybe there's nothing but platonic friendship between them, post-divorce - then suddenly looks dizzy and collapses. An alarmed Sammy Jo hovers over Krystle, who quickly regains consciousness. When Sammy Jo asks whassup with her just falling over like that, Krystle declines to explain her brain malformation and assures her niece that she's A-OK. Sable is consulting with a Dr. Westhaven about various brain disorders as a means of nosily trying to figure out what is wrong with Krystle. She insists she wouldn't dream of asking him to compromise anyone's privacy - but then continues to press him on why a patient would get the kind of scans she somehow knows that Krystle got. Dr. Westhaven admits that these sorts of scans could reveal an abnormality that is likely inoperable, and that has a very poor outcome. Sable looks aghast [even though it remains unclear why she's this invested in Krystle's health] and moans, "Oh my God.." Dex grills the controller's secretary (Florence) about why her boss hasn't been at ColbyCo for the last several days, and Florence says he's currently incommunicado and left a phone number that's now out of service. She says she's very worried about him, 'cause apparently it's quite uncharacteristic of him to stay out of touch with the office for this long. For whatever reason, Blake has decided to throw a formal, black tie dinner at the mansion to officially mark the end of his political aspirations. Over in the dining room, Krystle is removing all of the plates from the beautifully set table, which confuses the servants. Adam reminds Fallon that the two of them have a lot more in common with Denver Carrington than Jeff does...and an amused looking Fallon says that clearly Blake installed Jeff as a means of protecting the company from him (him meaning Adam). Sammy Jo snarkishly asks the servants why the dining table has no plates - just as Krystle begins throwing the plates at whoever's in the main corridor. The guests are all, "The fuckity fuck is happening?" and duck to avoid being struck by dishware, while Krystle vacantly smiles like a Stepford wife as she says in a monotone voice, "Dinner is served." During a break in the plate throwing, a worried Blake rushes over to her and says he needs to talk to her in private right now...and is in the process of ushering her up the staircase when Sergeant Zorelli arrives at the mansion with some startling news: the dead man found at the lake cabin has been deceased for around the last 20-30 years.
