Recap: As Blake and Jeff try to make heads or tails out of what the election coverage means for the campaign, Krystle is listlessly staring out the window. When Sammy Jo arrives a few seconds later, Jeff presses her to accept his marriage proposal so that they can "grab this moment". Sammy Jo says that since it's such a big step she wants to mull it over some more...and then Jeannette pops into the room to tell Blake he has an urgent phone call. Blake takes the call, immediately looks alarmed, and tells whoever is on the other end that he'll be right there. He then explains to everyone in the room that Adam's surrogate baby has gone missing. Blake has arrived at the police station (along with Karen and Jesse). Lieutenant Benning informs them that he's notified the FBI...and when Adam rushes in and says he just heard about his baby going missing, Jesse accuses him of abducting the tot. The two starts shoving each other - until Blake breaks it up. Adam insists that he had nothing to do with the baby's disappearance, and that for the last several hours he's been aimlessly driving around the city. Leslie returns to her suite at the Carlton Hotel and starts packing up her stuff...and as she heads towards the bathroom, she's all, "Ack!" when she suddenly encounters Sean. She starts screaming, so he covers her mouth and says he needs her to join forces with him in a highly criminal venture that'll make them both rich. Leslie pretends to be intrigued by the proposal and agreeably mutters, "Why the hell should I be the only poor Carrington?" Back at the mansion, Blake tells Adam he's available for whatever support he needs, as both a father or a friend...and that if he did do something nutty - like abduct his infant son, for example - it was no doubt something he did out of love. Adam reiterates that he really was just driving around aimlessly all evening...albeit he did end up at the hospital - but only to stare up at the building and send his son strong vibes to let him know he was nearby. Blake decides that, yeah, that non-alibi sounds reasonable enough and assures him that surely his son will be found soon. Sean ferries Leslie to a cabin somewhere near a lake in northern Colorado...and as soon as she enters the cabin, she hears a crying baby and then sees the infant tucked into a small basket. Sean explains that it's Adam's surrogate baby, and Leslie immediately picks him up and cuddles him. Sean describes the baby as "our future", and Leslie's like, "Oh OK", but is visibly weirded out by the troubling situation she's somehow stumbled into. Lieutenant Benning tells Blake that surely someone out there knows something that might help them track down the missing baby...and to that end, will inform the media of the kidnapping as a public appeal for information. Back at the cabin, Leslie feeds the baby and cooks Sean a hearty breakfast. Sean smarmily remarks on how they both share a money/sex obsession, and points out that the baby he just abducted has to be worth millions. When Leslie suggests that he should maybe give the baby back sometime soon, Sean growls, "Why should I?" and says he rather likes the idea of the Carringtons never knowing if he's alive or dead. Leslie looks further grossed out when the weirdo suggests they indulge in a romp, and tries to put him off by telling him she has to clear the table. Sean reacts by sending everything atop the table crashing to the floor, and Leslie pretends to be turned on by his macho aggression and unbuttons his shirt before the two start going at it. The FBI are at Carrington manor, setting up the equipment needed to trace any calls that might come in from the kidnapper. While that's happening, Steven, Adam, and Fallon are watching TV coverage of the missing baby. Post-doink, Leslie quietly climbs out of bed (while Sean is still sleeping), then picks up the phone and calls the mansion. In a hushed tone, she informs everyone that she's with Sean and the kidnapped baby in a cabin by a lake near some kind of mountainous area - but then suddenly the conversation comes to an abrupt half when Sean violently grabs the phone out of Leslie's hand and disconnects the receiver. At the mansion, the FBI agent tells Adam that the call wasn't long enough to quickly get full trace information. Sean backhands Leslie and yells at her for making the call, then once again rants and raves about how badly the Carringtons treated his deceased father and disgraced sister. He angrily concludes that he can never trust Leslie again, then violently smacks her face until she loses consciousness and slumps to the floor. Sammy Jo summons Fallon over to Delta Rho to discuss the possible merging of their families if she does, in fact, agree to marry Jeff. She says that while she doesn't expect them to become best friends, they also shouldn't be enemies for the sake of their small children. Fallon bitchily retorts that, actually, she does consider her the enemy, and snarkishly accuses her of wanting to marry Steven just so she could become a Carrington...and then getting engaged to Jeff just so she could become a Colby. Sammy Jo shoots her the stink-eye and asks her if she's as mad at her for landing Jeff, or at herself for so hastily throwing him away. Lieutenant Benning tells Adam and Steven that they have a general location of the cabin from which Leslie's call was traced - but that it's going to take time for his officers to locate the actual cabin. Adam declares that he's more than ready to jump into his car and head north, and Steven offers to go with him...and gives Lieutenant Benning the number of the car phone to keep in touch in case there are any new developments. Back at the mansion, Blake and Alexis agonize over where the missing baby might be at this moment. Alexis sourly calls it "convenient" that Leslie is with the baby - but Blake doesn't believe that Leslie would hurt a small child out of spite. Jeff pops into the room to announce that James Rayford won the governorship - but that he (Jeff) is calling for a recount after some "suspicious returns" from one of the more shady counties. Blake and Alexis chew on that for a few seconds, but agree that right now their main priority is locating their missing grandson. Over in the conservatory, Krystle tells Fallon she heard about the contentious conversation she had with Sammy Jo earlier. Fallon makes it clear how utterly contemptuous she is towards the woman she's branding a husband stealer, and Krystle shoots her a funny look and points out that Jeff is her ex-husband, and that no one held a gun to her head and forced her to divorce him. Fallon's like 'whatever' and nonsensically insists that Sammy Jo is "butting into our lives", and Krystle says it kinda sounds like she doesn't actually want Jeff back - but selfishly doesn't want anyone else to have him either. Adam and Steven are headed north when Lieutenant Benning calls to give them the exact location of the cabin in which Sean is likely holed up. He instructs them to hang back and wait for his officers to arrive...and Adam's like, "Fuck that - we're going in!" and steps on the gas harder. Adam and Steven burst into the cabin and find it empty - except for an unconscious and injured Leslie, who's still lying crumpled on the floor. As they help her to the nearby bed, she manages to tell them that Sean took off with the baby. Adam and Steven promise that she'll eventually receive medical help once the police arrive, then quickly take off. Sean is racing off in Leslie's car, with the baby in the passenger seat, while Adam and Steven follow behind in close pursuit. When Sean runs over something and gets a flat tire, he pulls over, grabs the baby and runs off on foot. A few seconds later, Adam and Steven spot Leslie's abandoned car, see that Sean and the baby are not inside, and split up to search the area. Adam heads towards the nearby lake, where Sean is frantically trying to drag a canoe towards the water. As he places the baby inside the end of the canoe, Adam spots him, yells, "Hey! Gimme my baby back!" and leaps high into the air to pounce atop Sean. The two [stunt doubles] begin to wrestle around...and, in the process, unwittingly push the canoe away from shore. In the meantime, Steven runs over, hears the baby crying from the oarless canoe, and yells at Adam that he should prolly stop wrestling with Sean and focus on rescuing his infant before he drowns. Adam diverts his attention from Sean, who uses the opportunity to run away and take off in Adam's car, and then Adam and Steven plunge into the lake and swim towards the canoe, which is slowly filling with water. Eeeek! After the commercial break, Adam reaches the canoe, grabs his son (which - throughout most of the rescue sequence - has been replaced by a stunt double doll), and swims with him back to shore. He and Steven are met by the local sheriff, who advises them to get the doll baby to a hospital asap. Adam thanks Steven for helping retrieve his son and says he'd like him to be the child's godfather...and Steven looks touched by the request and wanks him about what an amazingly resourceful fighter he's always proven himself to be. Late that night, Krystle wakes up and finds Blake sitting by the fire, staring contemplatively into space. She coos about how sorry she is that his dreams got dashed after losing the gubernatorial election, and he assures her he still has his dreams - but that he's so much more grateful that he still has her. Krystle suddenly looks dizzy again and starts rubbing her temple, and he leans toward her and gently kisses her forehead. Fallon sashays over to Jeff's apartment decked out in a form-fitting orange leather dress. She tells him she wanted to check out his bachelor pad, then snappishly declares that he owes her an apology for being such a controlling husband. Jeff tells her that during their marriage he always felt like a substitute for Blake, and she overreacts to that remark by slapping him. Jeff then playfully pins back her arms as she tries to wrestle him, then throws in the towel on that and leans in for an amorous smooch. In the next scene, the two are in his bed, passionately getting it on during a sex sequence that goes on for what seems like a really looooooong time. After the commercial break, the two are still going at it when the doorbell rings...and Jeff is stunned to find Sammy Jo on his doorstep. She's holding a bottle of champagne and two glasses and happily declares, "I love you. I need you. And I will marry you." Awkward. Alexis is enjoying breakfast in bed while she talks on the phone to Adam. She gushes about how proud she is of him and Steven for rescuing Unnamed Baby Boy, and says that surely the judge will reward him by giving him sole custody. Adam swiftly changes the subject and says he gets the strong feeling that lately Steven seems to be really bothered by something. Blake is speaking privately with Steven in the mansion's library, applauding him for the way he jumped in to help Adam in his hour of need. Steven absorbs the compliment for a few seconds, then asks Blake to please make it a point to look after Adam, give him tons of support, and consider offering him the chance to one day run Denver Carrington. He then tells Blake that he and Adam are sooooo lucky to have him as their father, solemnly says, "I love you very much, dad", and chides himself for not saying it frequently enough. Blake breezily returns his I love you, then tells him he'll see him later [though: not] and exits the room. Steven ambles over to Blake's desk and leaves him a sealed note with Dad scrawled on the envelop, then stares down at it contemplatively as he whispers, "Goodbye, dad." Alexis is luxuriating in a bubble bath when a bullet suddenly whizzes past her, and Sean appears in the doorway aiming a gun at her. He bellows, "That's for Kirby!", then shoots the glass of champagne she's holding and bellows, "That's for my father!" As Alexis stares back at him in mute horror, he orders her out of the tub. Blake runs into Adam at the courthouse and tells him that Krystle isn't feeling well enough to attend the custody hearing. Adam's like, "Er, OK...bummer" and shares that the judge asked to see him in his private chambers. After that, Dex wanders over and asks Blake if he's seen Alexis, 'cause she was supposed to meet up with him this morning. Blake says he hasn't seen her, then updates him about Sean being the crazed kidnapper of Adam's surrogate baby. Dex immediately looks alarmed and rushes off. Adam enters the judge's chambers and finds Karen and Jesse already there, waiting. Karen expresses her gratitude to Adam for rescuing the tot...and when Adam explains that he had been the target of a revenge plot against the Carringtons, Jesse smugly rejoins that if he and Karen were to get custody, he'd never be the target of anyone's revenge. The judge then enters the room and says he's decided to reveal his ruling to them now, 'cause he doesn't want any outbursts in court. He then drops the bombshell that he's giving custody of Unnamed Baby Boy to Karen, 'cause he strongly feels that the child belongs with his natural mother. Karen's all, "Yippee!" and hugs Jesse...while an aghast Adam quietly seethes, "No. You're not going to get my son." Elsewhere in the courthouse, Blake gets on a payphone and places a call to the doctor who had examined Krystle a number of years ago [for a brain injury she suffered years ago that is just now going to re-emerge and present her with a major health issue]. Back at the Carlton Hotel, Sean forces Alexis to open her safe...and she's in the process of emptying out all of her cash and jewelry when Dex suddenly bursts into the suite and tackles Sean. The two men tumble around the suite, knocking things over while a frightened Alexis looks on helplessly. Dex finally manages to grab the gun...and when he and Sean start wrestling for control of the trigger, it suddenly goes off. Eeeek! Blake returns to the mansion looking for Krystle and finds their bedroom in complete disarray. He quickly summons Jeannette to ask whassup, so she tells him that Krystle left a while ago without specifying where she was going. Blake asks Jeannette to straighten up the room and keep mum about the mess she left behind...then scrunches his face concernedly, and shakes his head while muttering, "My God, Krystle. I thought we had more time." Thanks for reading! If you are enjoying TVofYore's recaps, consider thanking me by buying me a "coffee"!
