Recap: As smoke billows from the plane wreckage, Blake crawls around on the ground nearby. He finds Rock Hudson and the pilot barely conscious, urgently warns them that he smells gasoline, then drags each man to a safe distance from the crumpled fuselage. A few seconds later, the wreckage catches fire, which results in a ridiculously massive explosion. At La Mirage, Adam canoodles Claudia and tells her he's on the cusp of plotting to take over the Denver Carrington empire. When Claudia points out that the company is big enough to share with all of Blake's beneficiaries, he breathily retorts in the creepy way he often talks, "I want it all.." and ignores the ringing phone. Krystle breaks the news to the Carrington clan that the plane Blake and Rock Hudson were on went down in the Rockies, and adds that she can't fathom why the two men would be on the same private plane. Jeff and Steven leap into action and announce that they're off to Mountain Patrol Headquarters to join the search, while Amanda moans about possibly losing her father so soon after being cast on Dynasty. Blake squints up at the darkening sky and tells the pilot and Rock (who's since passed out) that a storm is brewing and that he's going to scout around for some shelter. Alexis urges Prince Michael to repair his fractured relationship with Amanda, who she insists is in love with him...then reminds him of the oil deal she made with King Galen in exchange for him marrying Amanda. She firmly says, "A lot is at stake here", and Prince Michael gets irked at that and tells her that no one buys him unless he chooses to be bought, and that he's pretty sure a lot of other countries would be interested in investing in Moldavia and make deals that don't entail him being forced to marry a nitwit. He announces that it's probably best he stay at La Mirage from now on, curtly thanks her for her hospitality, and goes downstairs to his suite to pack. A few seconds later, Dex enters the room and gets a call from Charles, informing him about the plane crash. When he relays the news to Alexis, she tears up and poutishly moans, "Oh Blake, nooooo.." while Dex stares at her in crestfallen dismay. Blake staggers back to the crash site just as Rock regains consciousness. He tells Rock he found a shack nearby, and Rock tells him the pilot was awake but passed out again, and that he likely fractured his leg in the crash. Jeff and Steven arrive at Mountain Patrol Headquarters. The patrolman in charge informs them that the search and rescue effort has been put on hold 'cause of the incoming bad weather - but Jeff's like, "Damn it! Blake Carrington is out there!" and that he refuses to take no for an answer in getting access to a helicopter and an accompanying licensed pilot. When Steven insists on coming along, Jeff lures him to a closet, then knocks him unconscious with a [well deserved] punch in the face to forcibly keep him out of harm's way. Over at the La Mirage, Lady Ashley is photographing Dominique, who's whining about how much she misses Billy Dee Williams. A few seconds later, Krystle calls to inform Dominique about the plane crash...and she, in turn, relays the news to Ashley. When Ashley tears up, Dominique asks her whassup between her and Blake...so Ashley confesses her raison d'être for being on Dynasty: after hearing about Blake's awesomeness for years, she finally met him and was instantly impressed by how "dynamic, successful, and attractive" he was, and after her rich husband died decided 'why not go to Denver and make a move on the old goat?' in spite of his marital status. When she wistfully admits that it doesn't look like Blake is dumping Krystle anytime soon, Dominique shoots her the stink-eye, then sternly tells her she won't stand by idly and watch her destroy that blissful marriage. Jeff and a licensed pilot named Hank are flying above the mountains in a helicopter, searching for any sign of the crashed plane. When Hank expresses doubt that they'll be able to find anything in the dark of night, Jeff says he's sure that Blake is alive and that he's so damn resourceful he'll figure out a way to signal them to his location. Inside the shack, Blake shoves wood into a small stove for added warmth. A weak looking Rock says he'd rather not die just yet 'cause he has unfinished business...and when Blake snarks, "Does that unfinished business include my wife?", Rock's like, "Yep" and says he still plans to do everything he can to steal her away. LOL. Krystle is staring pensively at a photo of Blake when Adam bursts into the mansion. He sheepishly apologizes for not being present when the Blake is missing news was first delivered, and is visibly miffed that Jeff (and not he) sprung into action so quickly by racing over to Mountain Patrol Headquarters to launch a daring search and rescue operation. During a fireside chat at the penthouse, Amanda tells Alexis she's worried about Blake's fate - but Alexis assures her that Blake is nowhere near ready to die yet. She recounts a story about how he once rescued Joseph Anders from a house fire and was hailed by everyone as a hero...and Amanda remarks on how much she must have loved him once, then asks what ultimately ruined their marriage. Alexis glosses over her infidelity with Roger Grimes by breezily replying, "Life", then counsels Amanda on how to gauge whether or not you love a man, e.g. do you admire him? feel happy/miserable in his presence? feel the need to cheat on him in his own marital bed? Amanda mulls that over for a few seconds, then grins and says that this advice could be just the thing to give her the nudge she needs to reevaluate her relationship with Prince Dork. Dex arrives at Mountain Patrol Headquarters and radios Jeff to ask him if he found anything. Jeff says no, but that he and Hank are determined to carry on with the search. Hank stares over at him with alarm and is like, "Uh, actually, we need to head back to headquarters before we run out of gas" - just as Jeff spots a distress signal on the ground below and orders Hank to land the chopper. Jeff storms into the shack and is relieved to find Blake, Rock, and the pilot alive and doing as well as can be expected after surviving a plane crash in the mountains. Dex informs Alexis that Blake was found near the crash site, and has since been checked in and released from the hospital. He then accuses her of still being in love with her ex-husband - but she shakes her head dramatically from side to side and says she only cares for him as someone who's the father of her children. She assures Dex that he's the man she's truly into...and when he moans, "I want to believe you", she urgently plants a giant smooch on his lips. Blake returns to the mansion with Jeff and Steven, and Krystle gives him a tearful hug and natters on and on about how relieved she is that he's OK. He asks her if she's moved back home yet...and when she admits that she's still living at the La Mirage, he pissily tells her he'll order one of his manservants to drive her back to the hotel. He adds that Rock Hudson is OK in case she was wondering, then shoots her a hateful glare before ambling up the staircase. Krystle makes a beeline over to Delta Rho to tell Rock how happy she is that he survived the plane crash. Rock asks her who she worried about more when she heard the news, and she stares at the floor and mumbles that Blake will always be her top priority. Rock tells her that Blake saved his life and that he owes him a lot [even though the dumbass was largely responsible for the crash in the first place] ... and informs her that since it's clear they'll never be a couple, he'll be leaving Denver soon to embark on another dangerous military style rescue mission. At Carrington manor, Amanda squeals happily at the sight of Blake. He asks her whassup with her and Prince Michael, then adds that he's secretly glad the engagement is off. Amanda poutishly says she didn't like being jilted and is currently feeling very confused and mixed up. Alexis sweeps into the room with a lavish flower bouquet, asks Amanda to run along and find a vase so she can speak to Blake privately, then asks Blake to pleeeeease tell Prince Michael that he made a grave mistake when he cancelled the engagement. Blake argues that he doesn't much like the idea of his daughter marrying the royal dickwad, and accuses her of selling Amanda as part of a business deal. Alexis barks back that she merely bought Amanda a chance at happiness, then snarks about how tired she is of his holier-than-thou 'tude. Krystle suddenly rushes into the room, grabs Alexis by the arm, and forcibly ushers her toward the vestibule. She snarks at her to get the hell out before she's thrown out...and when Gerard appears carrying the flower bouquet now prettily arranged in a vase, Krystle grabs the flowers and throws them at Alexis in a needless fit of rage. Krystle tells Blake they need to decide, for once and for all, whether or not their shitty marriage is worth saving. When she says she votes for save, he nods and says he definitely likes the sound of that. She makes it clear she's only ever thought of Rock as a platonic friend and that she made her decision to stand by him (Blake), regardless of how vile and grotesque an ogre he repeatedly transforms into. Blake applauds himself for giving her the freedom to make her choice, says he couldn't bear to live his life without her, and gives her a blechy smooch. When Dex finds Amanda loitering in the penthouse, he makes it clear that while he cares for her, he's deeply in love with Alexis. Amanda concurs with that sentiment and says that her feelings for him have only ever included hurt, desire, and anger...whereas whenever she spends time with Prince Dork, she's generally happy and fulfilled. (That sounds like a rewriting of history, but OK.) Dex nods approvingly and urges her to marry the prince, and she gives him a thank you hug - just as Alexis steps off the elevator. Amanda hastily explains that she was just thanking Dex, and Alexis shoots her the stink-eye and snaps, "For what?" before storming upstairs. Amanda arrives at La Mirage - just as Prince Michael is about to enter his limo. After bickering back and forth about what she describes as his ill treatment of her, Amanda tells him she's suddenly made a discovery about them...and by discovery, she means she's convinced herself she loves him. Prince Michael perks up at that and gives her an intense smooch. Krystle returns to Delta Rho to tell Rock she didn't finish telling him what she was going to tell him and figured 'why not dramatically reveal this news closer to the end credits?' She informs him that after he dumped Iris and left Dayton, Iris discovered she was pregnant...and nine months later gave birth to a baby skanklet she named Sammy Jo. Rock stares at Krystle incredulously and is all, "Wha-a-a-a-a?" Adam skulks around the mansion and overhears Blake thank Jeff for risking his life in the search and rescue mission...and then Jeff wanks Blake by gushing about how much he's always admired and respected him and looked up to him as a father. Blake re-invokes his weird idea about formally adopting Jeff, then says he plans to rewrite his will to include him as an heir...and by heir, he means he wants Jeff to inherit control of Denver Carrington. Adam looks aghast at that pronouncement, then rushes back to his bedroom muttering, "You won't do this to me! I'm your eldest son! Denver Carrington is mine!" He stares at his angry reflection in the mirror before picking up a framed photo of Blake and smashing it atop his dresser. Thanks for reading!
