Recap: Jo is locked up inside the boat's cargo hold, and her wrists and ankles are now tied up while her mouth is duct taped shut. When she tries to kick open the trap door, Reed hears the commotion and orders her to stop...then chides her for ruining everything by being so nosy that she found his stash. He then tells her to relax 'cause he has a cocaine/cash exchange rendezvous scheduled for tonight and wants the transaction to go as smoothly as possible. Greg asks Billy how things went with Andrea last night, so Billy tells him that Alison showed up for a surprise visit while Andrea was at his place and reacted by angrily storming off. He snarls at Greg to butt the hell out of his personal life. Over at the hospital, Matt is freaking out to Michael about the dinner invitation he (Michael) received from Sydney and translates it to mean that she knows all about Michael's drunken joyride that killed Kimberly, along with Matt's subsequent altering of Michael's blood alcohol level in the hospital database. Michael sourly says it looks as though he has no choice but to show up for dinner - but that if Sydney continues to torture him in this way, he's going to make her wish that she too died in the accident. Billy runs into Alison in front of his building, and she gives him a hug and says it finally dawned on her how stupid she was being when she automatically assumed that he was cheating on her. Billy invites her to come up to his place, then insists that Andrea is just a friend and that he told her all about their long distance relationship...and Alison admits to getting the wrong idea and says she hates that they now live so far apart. She gives him a smooch, coos, "Make love to me, Billy", and the two start getting it on atop the couch. Over dinner, Michael tells Sydney that what she heard him mumbling while he was unconscious was simply the result of a dream he was having - but Sydney points out that if Matt is ever questioned about committing the felony of changing blood alcohol results in the hospital's computerized records, he'll surely sing like a canary. She adds that she also spoke to the waiter at the French restaurant he and Kimberly dined at on that fateful night, and for some reason he was only too happy to reveal that the tab for their dinner order included a lot of booze. Michael glares at her, growls, "Kiss my ass", and abruptly leaves the table, leaving Sydney staring after him in smug delight. Billy tells Alison that he just phoned Jake to ask him to pack up all of her stuff and ship it to New York [which seems like a ridiculously large favor to be asking of Jake...but OK], and a bewildered Alison's all, "The fuuuuuuck?" and tells him she only flew to New York for a brief visit. She gets annoyed that he'd assume she'd be the one to make all of the sacrifices, snarls at him for only thinking of himself, and tells him to grow the hell up already. Billy insists that she's somehow the one screwing everything up, so she huffily promises that first thing in the morning she's heading straight to the airport and will soon be out of his life for good. Ah, if only. A captive Jo listens as Reed exchanges his cocaine stash for bags o' cash...and after the drug buyers speed away, Reed finally releases her from the cargo hold. He unties her and removes the duct tape from her mouth, then tells her that since they're at sea no one will be able to hear her if she screams. She cringes fearfully and asks him if he's going to kill her, and he replies, "It's up to you, Jo." Alison rails some more at Billy about how she refuses to give up her life for him, and he tells her that since he's so smart, talented, and good looking she must be the one with the problem. Alison stares at him incredulously while muttering, "Good God" - LOL - and says it's suddenly become clear to her how over their stupid relationship finally is. Billy agrees and warns that he's not going to give her a second chance while he moves on with the horde of ladies who are soon going to be lining up for him, and Alison snidely wishes him good luck and tells him to have a great life before storming out of the apartment. Reed tells Jo she's going to loooooove living with him in Mexico, now that they have enough cash to last a long time. When Jo reminds him that he just imprisoned her inside a cargo hold, he argues that it was for her own good, denies being a sleazy drug dealer, and reasons that since drugs inevitably find their way into the United States, he might as well make money from it. He adds that the windfall means they can now start running a legitimate boat charter business, but Jo mumbles, "Dunno" and asks for permission to go to the kitchen and get something to drink. A few seconds later, she's frantically searching the cupboards for something to attack him with - just as he bursts into the room aiming his rifle at her and snappishly asking, "Looking for this?" Jo pretends that she was merely looking for drinking glasses, then nervously grabs a couple of beers out of the refrigerator. Michael wanders into the doctors' lounge and finds his colleagues gathered around a bulletin board, which someone (Sydney) has populated with random newspaper clippings about drunk drivers who are serving prison sentences. Michael waits for the lounge to clear out before ripping the articles down, then opens his locker and finds a note from Sydney that reads 'Kiss my ass'. It remains unclear how Sydney could possibly have known the combination to his private locker. Michael storms over to Shooters, violently grabs Sydney and shoves her against the wall, then stuffs the 'drinking and driving' newspaper clippings down the front of her shirt. She assures him that no one at the hospital saw her post the clippings, and that if he doesn't stop manhandling her in this not hot, angry manner, she's only going to escalate these types of shenanigans. Michael reluctantly apologizes and asks her what she wants, and she grins at him as she mulls that over, then tells him she'll get back to him 'bout that. Reed tells Jo he has no regrets about benefiting financially from his big drug deal [which, frankly, begs a lot of questions about how he was able to make such a ginormous fortune so quickly], and that he generally likes taking shortcuts in life in order to quickly get what he wants. He chides her for her lame photography career and how she's merely scraping by...then says that with the help of his drug dealing earnings, she can totally reinvent herself. He urges her to let herself get swept away in her new life in Mexico as a drug seller's girlfriend...and as he hugs her, she stares over at the radio that's a few feet away with a slightly hopeful look on her face. Over at Melrose Place, Jake knocks on Jo's door and tells Amanda he's worried about why she hasn't been around for the last several days, but Amanda breezily says she's sure there's nothing to worry about, and that Jo likely just went off somewhere on vacation. A few seconds later, the two run into Alison...and when Jake says he's very confused about whether or not he's supposed to be packing up her stuff and shipping it to New York, she tells him she's not actually moving across the country. Amanda makes a snide comment to Jake about her and Billy being "off again" [and says this as though she's really one to be making a joke like that, given her rollercoaster of a relationship with Jake], and Alison bitchily retorts that she's relieved to no longer have a boneheaded boyfriend, then goes into her apartment and stares sadly out the window. In New York, Billy too is staring sadly out of his apartment window. Michael is having a beer and watching sports when Sydney arrives with a set of luggage and announces that she's moving in. As Michael stares at her with a look of stunned horror, she tells him she's willing to sleep in the spare bedroom until he gets used to the new living arrangements. He violently grabs her by the hair, snarls, "Is this what you want?", then roughly smooches her before tearing open her blouse. He savagely asks her if this type of rough play is everything she's ever dreamed of, and she's all, "Is it ever!" (LOL), then steers him over to the couch where she orders him to "shut up and do it". Ew. Jo slips out of bed, quietly gets dressed, and tiptoes over to the radio. She picks it up and urgently asks if anyone out there can hear her...and, if so, help! - but no one on the other end responds. Reed suddenly appears out of nowhere and slugs her, then smashes up the radio. Jo races to the kitchen and frantically grabs a knife and points it at him, but he easily kicks it out of her hand, throws her into the cargo hold again, and bellows, "Stoooopid!" Billy tells Greg he's soooo upset about losing Alison, then happens to pass a street vendor selling cheap, fugly rings. Greg's all, "Uh oh" and warns that he's about to be impulsive, but Billy ignores him and picks a ring to present to his beloved. The next morning, Jo manages to kick the trap door open and climb out of the cargo hold. She finds something with which to strike Reed, then sneaks up behind him and knocks him overboard before starting up the engine and speeding off. Reed, meanwhile, has survived the attack and is clinging onto one of the boat's buoys. Jake and Amanda talk to a police officer about the absence of Reed's boat from its slip, but the officer says that all he can do about a boat that hasn't been reported stolen is a routine check if/when the mood strikes. Jake shakes his head and mutters, "I have a bad feeling about this." As Reed climbs back onto the boat, a panicked Jo grabs the rifle and points it at him, warning him to back off. He points a little orange flare gun at her, sneers that she doesn't have it in her to open fire, and yells, "You blew it!" As he advances, Jo pulls the trigger and pumps some much deserved lead into his chest...then rushes over to where he's laying, fatally wounded. Reed weakly cries, "Help me..." and Jo half-heartedly promises to get him to a hospital...but when his head flops to the side a few seconds later, she cries, "Nooooooo!!" Billy sneaks into the Melrose Place courtyard and tiptoes over to Jane's apartment. He explains to her that he quit his job to move back to L.A., and needs her to call Alison and invite her to dinner at a fancy restaurant so he can launch Operation Surprise Alison With Dinner, a Marriage Proposal, and a Really Cheap Ring. Sydney is holding court with Michael's colleagues in the hospital's staff lounge...and an irked Michael pulls her aside and asks her whassup. She giddily tells him she introduced herself to the hospital staff as his girlfriend, and he grimaces and rhetorically (I assume..?) asks her if she's out of her mind. Sydney poutishly asks him if he's ashamed of her, and he wearily asks her how far she's planning on taking this ridiculous charade. She grins, gives him a lingering cheek kiss, and tells him she has to run along now...and he stares after worriedly. As well he should. The Coast Guard locates Reed's boat, and several officers storm aboard and find Jo huddled against a wall. When she admits to shooting and killing Reed, they promptly arrest her, handcuff her, and read her her rights. Jane takes Alison to a fancy restaurant, then scuttles off as the maître d' escorts Alison to the table where Billy is waiting, decked out in a tuxedo. As Alison stares at him in surprise, he explains that he couldn't let the most important person walk out of his life, and that "in a blinding flash", he realized he couldn't spend another day without her. He urges her to drink her champagne, which contains the fashioned-out-of-tin ring...then sinks to one knee and asks her if she wants to be his partner for life, slides the ring onto her finger, and asks, "Will you marry me?" A speechless Alison just stares at him mutely as the scene fades to black. Thanks for reading! If you are enjoying TVofYore's recaps, consider thanking me by buying me a "coffee"!
