Recap: Aidan arrives at Carrie's townhouse mansion with more luggage than usual, explaining that he's able to stay in New York for more than just his usual two days. He cheekily asks Carrie if she wouldn't mind shoving her clothes to one side of her closet to provide more room for his stuff, and she stares at him in horror before steering him over to a guest room that has its own closet. Aidan leans in for a smooch and makes it clear that he wants to hit the sheets with her asap...and she tells him she's free until 7:30pm, at which time she has plans to meet up with Duncan for a writing session and go over his chapter notes regarding her latest drivel about "the woman". Harry is convalescing in bed after his prostate surgery and complaining to Charlotte about how ginormously swollen his balls are looking. When he asks her if she wouldn't mind looking at them to assess if they've gotten any smaller since yesterday, she tells him she can't 'cause Lisa has dropped by to say hello. A few seconds later, Charlotte ushers Lisa into the bedroom...and Lisa hands Harry a box of macadamia nuts she recently got from Hawaii. She unhelpfully remarks, "The jumbo ones I looove" and Harry wryly retorts on the contrived timing of her bringing him a box of jumbo nuts. While out strolling on Park Avenue, Charlotte asks Lisa how her sheroes docuseries is going, and Lisa tells her she gets along extremely well with her editor...and that she recently had a steamy dream about him. Charlotte assures her it's totally normal, and that she shouldn't feel guilty about him making her naughty parts tingle. Lisa sheepishly adds that she also flirts with Marion whenever they edit together - but that it always stops short of being overtly sexual. Charlotte points out that having an energy like that is good for the creative juices to flow, and Lisa concurs and describes her chemistry with Marion as flirking (aka flirting while working). Charlotte chucklingly tells her that she and her co-workers regularly engage in flirking with the hot young men who hang up art in the gallery, then reminds Lisa that she and Herbert are invited to attend the upcoming exhibit. Over at the gallery, Charlotte and her colleagues are setting up the new exhibit: a messy bed with a jizzed in condom (topped off with liquid soap to simulate the jizz) littered to one side. Charlotte explains to her colleagues that "the piece" represents a time during the 1980s, a pre-Lena Dunham era when women weren't celebrated for "being this messy". Charlotte then has a sudden dizzy spell and moans about how her vertigo is back despite never once mentioning [throughout the entire run of Sex and the City and/or the first two and a half seasons of And Just Like That..] that she's ever had vertigo, and her colleagues are all, "Vertigo? Is that a real thing?" Joy has just returned to New York (from Montreal) and drops by Miranda's place for a kiss and a quick drink. She waves around a bottle of rare Canadian gin and tell Miranda she'd like to leave it at her place so that she doesn't have to lug it around every time they get together...and figured it'd be OK - despite Miranda making it a point of telling her she doesn't drink any alcohol. Ever. Miranda takes the bottle from Joy and over-enthusiastically assures her it's no problem to leave her booze here...and Joy happily calls this a big step in their relationship, adding that she's never left gin at a girlfriend's place before. After lounging in bed post coitus, Carrie tells Aidan it's almost time for her writing session with Duncan...and that it'll likely take several hours. Aidan makes a glum face at that, then glumly checks his phone and looks disappointed that Wyatt didn't respond to his text. He glumly explains to Carrie that after his weird freak of a son returned from the Wyoming wilderness camp, he decided he wanted to live with Kathy from now on...and that since there's currently no one living at the Virginia farmhouse, he was free to travel to New York and stay indefinitely. He sourly says that clearly Wyatt loves Kathy more than him, and Carrie clucks sympathetically at that likelihood and offers to cancel the writing session with Duncan so that they can have dinner together. Aidan, who's becoming a bigger horse's ass by the day, perks up at that and is all, "Sounds good to me!" Seema and Adam are getting it on...and as she loudly climaxes, he decides 'why not start sucking on her finger?' Seema giggles at the finger sucking, then gigglingly tells Adam she doesn't usually giggle after sex. Adam reminds her that he hasn't yet gotten his rocks off, sexily cooing, "But I have all night." Lisa, meanwhile, is trying to get amorous with Herbert. She mounts him and moans, "Put it in me" - but he declines, on account of he really really has to pee. While he's in the bathroom, he reminds Lisa that they need to add toilet paper to the shopping list, and she reacts by staring dully into space. Lisa and Marion are taking a lunch break from editing, and Marion bites into a ripe papaya and remarks on how he likes to mix it up with different lunch food from time to time...and then eat it right in front of her as though he were performing cunnilingus. Lisa primly eats her usual salad and counters that she prefers to eat the exact same thing every day, overemphasizing, "I'm fine with what I have." Marion's all, "OK, whatevs" and tells her he's going to a screening this evening to support a friend whose film project was financed by the Obamas, and wants to introduce her (Lisa) to the development executive who's going to be in attendance. He points out that since they really really want to feature Michelle Obama in the sheroes docuseries, it'd be a good opportunity to network with someone who could help make that happen. Lisa mulls that over and mumbles, "Wow.." Lisa rushes home and tells Herbert and their daughter Gabi that she's cancelling tonight's plans for dinner and Charlotte's gallery exhibit 'cause she has to attend a work thing. Herbert tut tuts her about disappointing Charlotte, but Lisa explains that there's an Obama connection she needs to make at a film screening, then rushes off. Aidan is deciding what to wear for the gallery exhibit when he suggests to Carrie that they invite Duncan to join them for their pre-exhibit dinner. Carrie hastily nixes that and says she knows nothing about Duncan personally and insists that their friendship is strictly writing-related. Aidan says he finds that hard to believe, and Carrie's like, "I couldn't give the tiniest rat's ass what you believe" and makes it clear that he is not to invite Duncan to dine with them. While dining out at a fancy restaurant, Seema and Adam are taken aback when they witness a woman at another table lifting her armpits and then liberally applying deodorant. As they giggle about the lunacy of someone doing that in public, Adam shares that he uses a rock crystal in lieu of deodorant, which prompts Seema to chide him for not being more forthright about that weird habit, adding, "I can't be with someone who does stuff like that." When Adam asks her if she's noticed that he stinks, she admits that he smells pretty darn nice. He, in turn, shares that he loved being all up in her pits last night - but didn't dig the aluminum taste from her mainstream deodorant. Seema firmly shoots back that she's not not going to use deodorant...and when the waitress brings the bill and Seema learns that Adam's last name is Karma, she looks dismayed and tells him he should have been forthright about that too. Over at the gallery, the visitors are staring in utter mystification [or maybe that was more my reaction] at the exhibit titled Happily Ever After, which features a naked human woman lying face down atop the messy bed near where the "used" condom has been strategically placed. Aidan stands next to Seema and Adam and asks them if they've met Duncan...and, if so, would they please describe what he's like. Adam murmurs, "He's a meanie", an assessment with which Seema heartily agrees. Miranda tells Carrie and Charlotte that she's in a totally different headspace from where she was a year ago, and lately has been wondering if she "over-corrected" her penchant for guzzling booze daily when she defined herself as an alcoholic instead of just alcohol-ish. Carrie and Charlotte look troubled by the back pedalling and ask her if she's discussed any of this with Joy, and Miranda admits she hasn't - not least 'cause discussing her past habit of over-drinking would be a giant buzzkill and sooooo not sexy. Charlotte suddenly looks unsteady and explains that she's been suffering from vertigo...and continues to stubbornly dig in about it as though it had been firmly established by the SATC/AJLK writers that she's been afflicted with the condition for years. Patti LuPone tells the gallery owner she'd like to buy Guiseppe a large scale art piece for his apartment - but Guiseppe chimes in and tells her it's not necessary, not least 'cause he's always over at Anthony's place. Anthony then wanders over, which prompts Patti LuPone to steer the gallery owner across the room for a more private discussion. Antony tells Guiseppe it's painfully obvious that his mother wants him dead, and Guiseppe suggests to Anthony that he cook dinner for his mom and then dine together so they can enjoy some one-on-one quality time. Joy hands Miranda her glass of champagne and breezily asks her to hold onto it for a moment...and when Miranda stares at it and looks tempted to take a sip, an alarmed looking Charlotte cries out, "Miranda! Nooooo!" and starts tottering across the gallery. In the process, she suffers another vertigo attack and stumbles onto the Happily Ever After exhibit and lands beside the startled naked woman and gets the "used" condom stuck on her arm in the process. Seems like this vertigo subplot took a very long road to reach a scenario/punchline that landed like a lead balloon. Lisa and Marion are enjoying the film screening when their knees touch. A wigged out Lisa abruptly declares, "I have to leave!" and rushes out of the theater and immediately phones Charlotte to report that her attraction to Marion has officially gone beyond just flirking. A few seconds later, Marion calls to tell Lisa he's talking to the development executive who knows the Obamas, then hands her the phone...and Lisa perks up and gives the woman a brief rundown of her never-ending sheroes docuseries. Miranda is at home, working on her computer while watching Bi-Bingo. She gets up and wanders into her kitchen, opens the cabinet, and stares longingly at Joy's bottle of gin. She attempts to distract herself with a couple of cookies - but isn't able to resist grabbing the bottle of gin, pouring a small amount into a glass, and coming dangerously close to guzzling it. She suddenly stops herself and pours it down the sink, then decides she can't handle the temptation of having a full bottle of gin in her apartment. She takes it into the hallway and drops it down the garbage chute, where we hear it smash into pieces [and stupidly creating a needless hazard for the building's maintenance/sanitation staff]. Carrie narrates the latest from her novel about "the woman", who has apparently found happiness once again. She then voice-overs something about likening this happiness to a red bird that appears in the garden, blah blah...and then the camera pans over to her bedroom, where she's contentedly canoodling with Aidan.
